Tab character to the left of an auto-number

I have InDesign CS4 documents with numbered lists in various places in the documents. I've been numbering them manually because I can't find a way to insert a tab character in front of an autonumber. The Bullets and Numbering settings dialog won't let me insert a tab at the beginning of an auto-number -- gives an error message. The reason for the tab in front of the number is so that the numbers will align right when there are 10 or more items in the list.

Jay,
You don't need to insert tabs, you set everything in the "Bullet and Number Position" section of the bullets -and-numbering tab. These values work for 10 points Minion:
Alignment: Right
Left indent: 6 pt
First line indent 6 pt
Tab position: 18 pt

  • Why does Firefox sometimes put the New Tab "+" button to the left of my open tabs instead of to the right?

    ''dupe of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/932160''
[Re-posted with additional details when I thought this post had failed. Please respond to the other post and ignore this one. My apologies for the duplication.]
In some windows, seems more likely after a crash recovery (but not sure there's a connection), Firefox puts the New Tab "+" button to the left of my tabs instead of the right. This is annoying, because once you're used to clicking it to the right of your open tabs, it's confusing to sometimes find it to the left.
If I go into Customize mode, it still shows the "+" tab on the right, but as soon as I close Customize, it's really still there on the left edge of the screen.
Why does this happen and can I stop it? I have seen no reports of this problem posted by others, but it's been happening for me since at least Version 12 and not fixed by version 13.0.1.

This may be related to session restore.

  • How can i pin the tabs (shortcuts on the left) FOREVER?

how can i pin the tabs (shortcuts on the left) FOREVER?
I PINNED THE TABS AND NOW I HAVE THE SMALL TAB ICONS ON THE LEFT OK COOL BUT I DONT WANNA DO THIS EACH TIME I OPEN FIREFOX. I WANNA PIN THEM FOREVER. AUTOMATICALLY!!!!

App (pinned) tabs and Tab Groups (Panorama) are stored as part of the session data [1] in the file sessionstore.js [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].
Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting, that is usually a more reliable way to restore session data.

  • The "delete Key" removes the character to the left, as a backspace key does, can this changed?

The "delete Key" removes the character to the left, as a backspace key does, can this changed?

Yes, hold the FN key down as you hit delete to delete from the right.

  • I hate the "delete tab" icon on the left of the tab!

    Two big "WHY"s for Apple:
1- Why is the "delete tab" icon on the LEFT of the tab? That's the place I click to move to that tab.
2- Why is the "delete tab" icon HIDDEN until you mouse over it???
If you're working quickly, you can click on a tab to bring it up -- BUT too bad! You hit the "delete tab" icon and the Web page disappears.
The "delete tab" icon should always show, so we can AVOID CLICKING on it.
AND -- it should be located on the right side of the tab, where we are much less likely to click.

    Hello and welcome....

  • After upgrade to ff14, how do i move "new tab" button from the left to the right?

after i upgraded to ff 14, i found that the "open new tab" button moved to the left of the tabs. how do i move the button back to the right of tabs?
i've tried the customize, but it won't stay on the right when i hit done.

Try to click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window if you can't move the New Tab button to its default position immediately to the right of the last tab.

  • How do I move my tabs back to the left hand side of the screen?

Until today, all of my open tabs have appeared in a top to bottom column running down the left hand side of my screen, which works great.
When I logged in a few minutes ago, the tabs appeared for the first time in a horizontal row running across the bottom of the screen. I would like to reposition the tabs list to its original orientation and location. How do I do that?

That is not a built-in option in Firefox, you must have an add-on that has added that capability. There are several add-ons that can move the tab bar, check your installed add-ons to see if one of them has that option.

  • How can I move the "Latest Headlines" and "Most Visited" items from the right of the tab bar to the left?

I accidently moved these items (and deleted "History") and can't get them back on the left side of the tab bar.

Didn't you look in the View menu (View > Toolbars > Customize)?
<div>The "3-bar" Firefox menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] shows in the screenshot at the right end of the Navigation Toolbar</div>
You need to be in customize mode if you want to make changes to the toolbars.

  • Sequence tabs open to the left of in new FCP?

I've never noticed this before but sometimes when I have a sequence open in the timeline and I open a new sequence it opens to either the right or the left... What causes this? How can I get them to always open to the right? Thanks!

by the right I mean the tabs at the top of the timeline, they open to the left of the opened tab... like on top.
I like to keep my most important tab all the way to the left so when I open a new sequence and it opens to the right, it messes up my order. thanks

  • Blank tab position: How can I make new (CTRL+T) tabs open on the left instead of far right?

When I open a new tab (new, blank tab, from a link), it opens on the far right of the tab bar. This doesn't work for me because when I open a new tab, I use it immediately, so I would like it to be appear adjacent to the tab I'm currently using. I've scoured support and forums without finding a way to change the position of new tabs.
NOTE: When I say "new tab," I am mean NEW tabs - the kind that contain the new tab page, created using CTRL+T or File->New Tab not tabs opened from links. I am emphasizing this point because I have found plenty of questions and answers about how to make links opened in a new tab open on the far right or next to the current tab by changing the value in browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent in about:config.

The [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/ Tab Mix Plus] extension appears to have this feature, pictured in the screen shot here: http://tmp.garyr.net/help/#Events_-_New_Tabs

  • How to display NEGATIVE sign on the left side of a number in SMARTFORMS

    Hi,
In smartforms I'm trying to print some negative values, but the negative sign is displayed on the right hand side of the number.
How can I display the '-' sign on the left hand side of a number. I tried the logic &value(<), it works well in sap scripts. Why is it not working in smartforms ?
    Eg :   I'm getting  the output  as  126.75 -
             I want :  - 126.75

  • When I open enough tabs to get the left/right scroll buttons to appear, my entire tabs bar flickers

I finally just upgraded from FF28 this week and am having a very weird problem with the tabs bar. I am attaching a 2-second video because a still screenshot does not capture the issue. Not only is the flashing/flickering uncomfortable visually, but it makes it nearly impossible to click the x to close a tab (I have to right-click and select Close Tab instead).
edit: can't attach a video; uploaded it here:
    http://www.nothingleftrecords.org/ffvid.3g2

I'm sorry for this issue. hopefully it is fixed with an upcoming update. I looked at your crash report and one issue that could be causing this is out of date drivers.
" Blocked for your graphics driver version. Try updating your graphics driver to version 10.6 or newer." This error was given many times. Also, as XP gets older, without being supported, it gets harder to make programs (i.e. Firefox) as good as possible while working on older systems.

  • CME8.6 on 3825 is stripping '+' character at the front of an international number

    Hi,
I am try to deal with some international traffic its arriving in a group of SIP dial peers, can be any, after processing the traffic locally we send back to the same group of SIP dial peers, however, on the way out, even though we have outbound translation rules, it is being stripped by the software, the final invite on the outbound shows the number with no '+' character.
Any ideas why this is happening?
    Thanks
    Alan

  • Horizontal tabs when they are on the left side of tab control

I have a tab control for a touch screen where I was going to use buttons along the left side to change tabs, and hide the tabs. However, I realized I can put the tabs on the left side of the tab control and remove my buttons all together. Only issue is, I would like them (along with their font) to be horizontal, not vertical as they are shown in my screenshot. Is there a way to change this?

It's a really poor design aspect of tab controls that the text is sideways when the tabs are on the left or right side.
I've looked into it and found no way to re-orient the text.
However you can put images on the tabs instead of text, and the images can be of text (correctly oriented of course).
The attached code can be used to generate such a tab control.

  • New Tab to the left

Is there any way to open the NEW TAB to the left of the current Tab instead of the Right.

Yes, but it requires downloading and installing Glims. It's a Safari add on and it's free.
    Glims for Safari | www.MacHangout.com
The settings can be accessed in Safari > Preferences > Glims after it's installed.
Selectz:  Tabs Misc. on the left then click the pop up menu next to; Position new tab
Select:  At the left of the current tab
