Tab in Safari said I'd been hacked and info started streaming across tab

I left several tabs running under Safari but always return to the home screen before turning my iPad off.  When I opened Safari this morning one of my tabs said something like "You've been hacked.". There was a green skull of sorts on a black screen and I remember seeing the word newbie on the page.  I tried to shut the page down but couldn't and I saw letters and numbers streaming across the tab itself at the top by the x where I tried to close it.  I switched to another tab and the streaming stopped.  I went back and it started again.  It finished in a few seconds and finally allowed me to close the tab.  It happened so fast I wasn't sure what to do.  So far I haven't noticed any problems but I'm afraid to use any of my apps with passwords, particularly banking apps.  I cleared my browser history and cookies and restarted using the power button and home button.  I did notice a spam email in my inbox, maybe just a coincidence.  Has anyone else seen anything like this or have further advice?  I hate to totally reset if I don't have too.

i have never heard of a ios device actually being hacked. it is super hard to do . i would suggest a factory reset

  • My imessages have been hacked and recovery email changed and I can't delete it! (with pic)

My iMessages have been hacked and the hacker entered his email as the recovery email with security questions I can't answer. I contacted Apple support and went through the 24 hour process of changing my info so that I could get into the account, but his email address is still the recovery address and it does not give me the option to delete it. I've added alternate emails that can be deleted, but it will not let me change or delete the recovery email. I can change phones and passwords a million times, but if he can just recover my password what am I supposed to do? I have turned iMessage off on my phone (as well as the gps) but I would really like help in deleting that recovery email if anyone has any bright ideas! The pic below shows the only place in all of the settings that his email address shows up anywhere! Any help is very very very appreciated.

    Hi,
I don't think that can be solved by any advice the regular posters could post here.
I would go back to Apple and explain the situation (again).
I would also consider closing the account (Apple rarely seem to do this as accounts are never deleted but just closed).
I understand this may cause issues for things purchased in iTunes and the App Store which my include Restoring the OS at some point.

  • User name sent to my email address, but never arrives. Has Firefox been hacked and user info being sent to the wrong people?

Had some issues with Firefox 35.0.1 trying to post on this forum. Fox would not accept my login, so I requested to reset my password. Password reset O.K. still a no go, thought my login was bad and requested them send my "User name" (same email) User name never arrives. I had to create a new account on the forum to post this question as I can't get my old login to work.
Anyone else having this problem or has Firefox been hacked and my "User Name" sent to someone else?

    Hi maheman,
Can you try to recover the password with the email and private message me a timestamp. I can ask an admin to take a look at the technical side of what is happening, the email is removed from the public thread, however it may be necessary to investigate. • My email account has been hacked and my address book has been used to send unsolicitated emails to all my contacts, how can I stop this activity

My email account has been hacked and my address book has been used to send unsolicitated emails to all my contacts.

    First of all
Run windows in safe mode (with network) and change your password on your email account.
    Then
run several anti-malware programs (there are many free ones, but not all are trustworthy)
    Malwarebyte >> http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
    Microsoft Safety Scanner >> http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
    Windows Defender >> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-defender
    Spybot >> http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
    Kasperky >> http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan
    Rootkit scanner TDSS-Killer >> http://support.kaspersky.com/5350
And when all is clean, change password for your email account again.

    Hello deborahmp,
Depending on how you have your Apple ID set up, reset or security related emails may either be sent to your primary or your rescue email address. If you are having issues resetting your Apple ID password, you may find the steps and options outlined in the following article helpful, up to and including contacting Apple Support directly if necessary:

  • Macbook has been hacked and  Genius Bar cannot help..anyone here please?!

My MacBook has been hacked, the mouse started moving on its own and clicking etc. the next day someone called my home and told me my system had been hacked, which I guessed was the mouse activity. So I downloaded the programme they asked me to, stupidly, which enabled them to remotely control my computer. The screen went blue and they started opening my documents / creating folders etc. I had a nasty feeling the whole time and when this happened i force shut down my latop. Ever since then sporadically the mouse will start playing  up and clicking onto things etc. Everytime this happens I immediately shut down. I have been to Apple 3 times and had my computer wiped but it still happens. trackpad has been tested and is fine. I have called my internet provider and they say nothing looks out of the ordinar. Called a non emergency police number and other than advising me to change passwords and Bank details, which I had already done, no one can help me. I have adjusted my computer security settings, unplugged my internet cables etc. I literally can't think what else I can do to try and fix this. I work freelance design and my laptop is so important, I'm getting so frustrated that nobody can help!! please get in touch if you can help me!! Thanks a lot.

3Use the "- sign" to remove items that you do not recognize from the list.
4Note the applications you were using when the problem first occurred and review any software that was recently installed.
5Check your network activity in your Activity Monitor by locating this file in your Applications/Utilities folder. It will display a list of the processes, statistics, applications, and programs that are currently being used by the computer.
6Note any consistent action in the Activity Monitor. If you see purposeful activity, then it is likely that an unauthorized user has connected to your computer using remote access.
7Click on the "System Preferences" window in the Apple menu and launch the System Preferences application. Open the Sharing reference window.
8If Screen Sharing is enabled for the computer, note users who are currently allowed access to the computer. If you see suspicious activity, disable the Screen Sharing application.
9Disconnect from the network, unplug the Internet cable and turn off the computer.
10If problems persist, consult a computer technician.

  • My account has been hacked and my credit card charged by the hacker

My account has been hacked and my credit card charged by the hacker and all Skype has to say about it, is that I need to wait 72 hours for them to look at my query? I cannot log into my account. I have filled in the support form, but I haven't received an email notification from Skype that I have submitted it. I'm guessing that's because my account is now in the use of someone else, as the hacker changed the account over to his email address. I know he did that, as I got a notification of changing the email address at the same moment as I was logged out of Skype.  I use Skype professionally and this issue is causing me a world of trouble. The fact that Skype is a paid service ought to mean that there is better support than 'we will look at it within 72 hours.'

So nearly 24 hours later, and still no information either in this forum or via email notification from Skype.  Does this mean that Skype is instead communicating with the person who hacked my account? Since the hacker now has my account registered with their email address, It seems that's the most likely situation, given the unparallelled course of incompetence I'm experiencing from them.  If Skype had taken action on this right away (the moment I made the complaint, which was minutes after my account was hacked) the charge that the hacker made on my credit card would not be lost due to his usage of my account. But apparently, stopping fraud is so low on Skype's agenda that this can go on and on. If I had not been on Skype when it happened (prompting me to instantly block my credit card) there would have been nothing to stop the hacker from making multiple charges to my card, potentially running into the hundreds of dollars.  Instead of action to deal with my problems, I'm receiving notifications that I have earnt 'a new rank' in the Skype community. Whoop-dee-bleedin'-doo!

  • How do you no if you have a virus or been hacked and how do you get rid of it

A couple of time now I have found my found on randon web pages or message is it possible i have been hacked or got a virus

Finding a strange site open in Safari isn't a conclusive sign that someone has hacked your iCloud account. You could simply be seeing redirects or "pop-ups" from some page you had loaded. This could easily cause tabs that you didn't realize were there to be noticed later.
Similarly, finding that you have received strange messages in the Messages app isn't suspicious. That just means someone is text-spamming you. You can block the individual doing this if you're running iOS 7.
However, if you are finding that your phone appears to be sending messages that you haven't sent, and has opened pages when all tabs in Safari were closed, then the iCloud account has been hacked.
If your iCloud account is also your Apple ID, and you think you have been hacked, you will need to immediately log in to appleid.apple.com and change your Apple ID password. While you are there, you should also enable two-factor authentication on your Apple ID, to prevent hackers from taking control of it, and potentially locking you out of your iOS devices permanently.

  • Email has been hacked and cannot recover

I have a huge problem with my primary account.
All a sudden I was not able to access it and all my contacts received
a spam email from my account. I have tried everything in getting back on
(recovery, phone code, secret answer). It is clear that I have been hacked.
I do not know who to contact or to help me. This has been my main email for the
past 10 years and all my accounts/ contacts are linked to this email.
Could someone please help me on what to do with this issue? I do have proof of ownership
    of this email.
As I said I tried the recovery page answering everything to the folders in the mail up to subject
titles. It says that they cannot identify me. I am wondering if the hackers have deleted everything
    on my account.
What could I do? is there anything I could do on my end? This email address is very important to
my personal life and to my business as I am a freelancer.
Could someone please help me his is very important.
    Regards,
    M
