Tab opening question

I have several groups on my bookmark bar.
If I am looking at my home page & hit the open tab group button, is there any way to get them to open in new tabs & not include my home page which then disappears to make way for one of the sites in my tab group.What I mean is open in completely new tabs.

I THINK I get what you're saying, and if I do, I think I have the cure for your problem.
-If you don't have your tabs bar at the startup, then you can change that setting in VIEW --> Show Tabs Bar
or
you can press (Ctrl+T) together and this will open a new tab, and from there, you can click on your bookmark in the New Tab window, and this will leave your old window open as well.
Please tell me if this is helpful, or if I'm still not understanding correctly.
-and a tip: if you don't want to Ctrl+T every time you want a new tab, you can double click anywhere on the Tabs bar (except ON a tab) and this will open a new tab (but if you don't have your Tabs Bar shown, this obviously wont work) :c)

One SIMPLE, SIMPLE question that the answer seem to be no whre IN PLAIN ENGLISH! What do you have to do to have two of more tabs open at the same time. Just like ANY OTHER BROWSER LETS YOU DO! Ya know....so you can drag and drop things like pics etc.

For Pete's sake. This is not rocket sience. What more details do you want. I want two tabs OPEN at the same time so I can copy from one to the other or drag and drop from one to the other.

You can copy text and hover that selected text with the left mouse button down on another tab on the tab bar until that tab opens and drop the text in a text field in that tab. You need to make sure that that text area is visible because you can't scroll the page. You can also tear off that tab (temporarily) to a new window and resize them to see both windows. Move the tab back to the other window once you are done if you prefer that.

Why does the Welcome to firefox tab open with my google tab every time I open the browser? And why can't the browser hold any add-ons I downloaded? I loose then when I close the browser, even tool bars have to be reinstalled every time I open the browser

Every time I open the browser the Welcome to Firefox tab is the first tab, then a second tab opens and thats my google, then a 3rd tab opens for me to reinstall my toolbar. This has been happening for a good year. Updates have not fixed it. Others have this problem. I did a search for an answer, the question is out there but no answer. Now if I go into add ons and add a background Theme or an extension it all is gone when I exit the browser. When I open the browser again I get all 3 tabs and have to install my toolbar again. I DO NOT want to reinstall as I will loose all my saved data, passwords, bookmarks, everything! I have had this computer for a year, Windows Vista x64 bit. Its not the computer, it's the browser. I had 41 tabs open in about six groups over the last year and a half and I just close them and exited Firefox. Is there any way to get them back?

History menu, if it was destroyed in the last session
then use "Restore Previous session:" and then restore all windows also from the history menu.
If done in this session try the restore all windows under the history menu.

My firefox always opens a crash report when I close it. Even if I have no tabs open and close firefox.

Do you still get the problem in [[safe mode]] and with default themes, and all plugins disabled. Note common causes of crashes are malware, and versions of the software IDvault. (do you use IDvault ? - often provided by Comcast)

Spry Accordion - Tabs open and then close after page loads

I am using a Spry Accordion menu driven from a database.
The menu opens up during the page load and then closes.
I'm using SpryAccordion.js 1.6.1
And to open a preset tab, I'm using:

Well to both thanks. Actually I wasn't disappointed as I had a two part question...
I tested the 1.6 JS and remembered that I had to modify the 1.4 so that tabs actually would link. So I reverted back to 1.4.
So, going to 1.6 fixed the open panel on load but "unfixed" the panel tab from linking.....
So changing this in the 1.6 js fixed the link issue as well:

How Do I Launch Safari with Multiple Tabs Open to Specific Pages?

I'd like a Windows shortcut that opens Safari with multiple tabs open to specific pages. With other browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc.), this is easily done by composing a command line that lists all desired URLs. However, Safari doesn't seem to use the same command line syntax as other browsers. Furthermore, I can't find Safari's command line syntax documented anywhere. From the comments I've seen while researching this question, I suspect this is a neglected area of Safari development, and that Safari simply can't be configured to open multiple pages. However, I'd like to make sure. Can it?

It strikes me that it should be possible to do that (or something similar) by building a safari extension, TC. Both Sessions and SafariRestore are able to launch multiple tabs from a previous session, so it seems like you should be able to create an extension that launches multiple tabs open to specific sites when Safari is launched.

How do I make a new tab open all the say to the right, as it used to, instead of just to the LEFT of the last tab?

I have 6 tabs set up and have become very accustomed to the position they’re in. When doing a specific task for my job, a 7th tab opens up. It has always opened all the way to the right. When I’m done reading the information it gives me, I just quickly “x” it out to return working. Yesterday I noticed that this 7th tab was not opening up all the way to the right. It was opening in the next-to-last position to the right. This might not seem like a problem, but when I go to close it, I’m so used to x-ing out the one to the far right, that I’ve been x-ing out a tab that I need.
So the question: How can I get the new tab that opens to appear all the way on the right again? Again, this is not adding a new tab. If I add a new tab to search for something, it does open all the way to the right.

Blank tab position: How can I make new (CTRL+T) tabs open on the left instead of far right?

When I open a new tab (new, blank tab, from a link), it opens on the far right of the tab bar. This doesn't work for me because when I open a new tab, I use it immediately, so I would like it to be appear adjacent to the tab I'm currently using. I've scoured support and forums without finding a way to change the position of new tabs.
NOTE: When I say "new tab," I am mean NEW tabs - the kind that contain the new tab page, created using CTRL+T or File->New Tab not tabs opened from links. I am emphasizing this point because I have found plenty of questions and answers about how to make links opened in a new tab open on the far right or next to the current tab by changing the value in browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent in about:config.

In ff 36 when siging out of a website another tab opens instead of closing the current tab

When I updated to V.36 this action started . With certain websites when I try to sign out instead of the webpage closing, a new tab opens and the home page of the same website opens. The original tab is still open with my account information still logged on and the only way to log off is to click the X on the Tab.
The problem disappears when I uninstalled Tab Mix Plus. This issue did not happen in the earlier version of FF and I always used Tab Mix Plus with the previous versions.

Instead of closing the tab where you logged out, what if you reload it using Command+r (or the reload button in the address bar). Does it show that you are properly logged out at that point?
My guess is that the site is sending a redirect after logout and somehow that is getting diverted to a new tab for some reason instead of loading in the same tab. I don't have any good guess as to why that would happen. You might pose this question on the Tab Mix Plus support forum to see whether it's a setting you can change or a compatibility issue with Fx36:

Firefox 8 puts new tabs opened from links in another tab at the end of the tab list, NOT next to the tab it came from like in V3.6. I want it next to the tab it came from. How do I get it to do this?

Question as stated, sums it up. When I click the mousewheel on a link in a tab I want a new tab open with that link and I want it next to the tab I clicked the link in just like Firefox V3.6 did. Firefox 8 is always opening the new tab at the end of the list and boy is this annoying!

Why does firefox intermittantly open a new window when I click on an existing tab? This only happens when I have three or more tabs open.

Several times now Firefox 4.0.1, when clicking on a tab (three or more tabs open) I immediately moves that tab to it's own window and closes the tab in the existing window.

That is probably the "tear-off tabs" feature. A slight movement (usually downward) when clicking on an existing tab will cause that tab to "tear-off" and open in a new window. Hi all,
I noticed this for the first time on 2/7/15 and 2/8/15 as well... One time per day, both times I was reading an article on a different site and a new tab opened itself to youtube... To a Mcdonald's commercial that I had never watched...
I wasn't touching the computer at all, and nothing on the website (Yahoo news) had a link anywhere that I found
Malwarebytes doesn't find anything, and was running other scans through a help group that didn't turn up anything... Has this recently happened to anyone??? Thanks

I didn't keep track of the time... I could see a Mcdonald's popup happening, but not a whole new page in a new tab... What is a good adware program to track that??? Thanks

I only know that there are other tabs open because the + button is halfway across the tab bar. then when I click in what appears to be an empty space with no tab, a tab opens up, and the one that I was working on disappears again.??...

It could be a Toolbar issue. Could you try resetting and see if it will solve the problem?

I have checked the warn me when closing firefox with multiple tabs open but the system does not warn me and closes all of the tabs?
