how to use the tab pages & map in WAD....moreover for what kinda reports we use this....can anyone tell me..

Purpose
Many BI characteristics, such as customer, sales region, and country, contain important geographical characteristics. The geographical information can be evaluated in a map together with business-relevant key figures.
Use maps to display business relationships and distributions. You can clearly display specific key figures as color shadings, pie charts, or bar charts for a country, region, or city.
Integration
Maps help you with reporting geo-relevant data. By using the Map Web item, you determine a geographical display in the BEx Web Application Designer for your business-oriented data for the Web application.
Geo-relevant InfoObjects are stored and maintained in the Metadata Repository. The master data for geo InfoObjects has geo attributes. The assignment of geographical data to business data (mapping/geocoding) is carried out using an external tool: ArcView from ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute).
Features
You use maps to prepare and evaluate data of a geographical nature (characteristics such as customer, sales region, and country, for example). The geo-relevant data is displayed graphically on a map. Using enhanced navigation options (geographical drilldown), regional information can be evaluated more easily at different levels of detail. A map shows the spatial proximity of places and regions, allowing geographical connections to be more clearly represented.
Process Flow
       1.      In the InfoObject maintenance, flag the geo-relevant characteristics (country, for example) that you want to use as geo characteristics.
       2.      Load the corresponding shapefiles into the BI system. Maintain the assignment of shapefile and master data (mapping between geo characteristic and shapefile). See SAPBWKEY Maintenance for Static Geo Characteristics.
If you want to use the maps to report on geo characteristics that show information in point form (customer, plant, sales office, for example) you have to geocode these characteristics. See Geocoding.
       3.      In the BEx Web Application Designer, include a Map Web item in your Web template, and assign a data provider to this Web item. Use parameters to determine the display of the map and business-oriented data.
Finally, execute the Web template in the Web. You can navigate in the map to further analyze the geo-relevant data.

WAD: anyway to bind each tab of the tab page web item to different query?

WAD: anyway to bind each tab of the tab page web item to different query?
We check the properties of the tab page web item, but can't find we can bind the tab to some query.
Any idea?

will try to write as much detail steps as i can...
drag tab page web item in wad window
go to its properties
for e.g. u currently have only 1 tab page
than name tab page1 as p1
hit button with ..
this will let u add new heading to tab page 2
likewise save heading of 4 tab pages in properties of tab pages
now choose container web item
drag it in tab pages window
assign seperate analysis item in each container item
assign seperate queries in each analysis web item.
assign container1 to tab page1
assign container2 to tab page2
assign container3 to tab page3
assign container4 to tab page4
and their heading viceverssa
save it execute it
now u will have 4 queries in 4 container item and uc an see that in different tab pages.

Tab Pages in WAD

Hi all!
I'm having some problems with Tab Pages Web Item. It only allows me to reference a Analysis Web Item as Subordinate Web Item. It doesn't show any other web item already included on Tab Pages on the combo box to do the selection. I need to reference a Container because there are several items to be displayed on each tab.
Is it a bug?(WAD 7.10, support package 3, revision 387).
Or may be a missing setting...

Sorry but you are incorrect. You can have as many objects on a single tab page as you like although you have to group items into a container and reference the container as a subordinate item.
I am on the latest patch for GUI6.40 BI frontend (patch 16). My issue is I cannot add ANY subordinate items to a tab page. Nor will the tab page pick up the caption I have added. It just displays ??. Is this a(nother) bug in the BI7 tools?

To create the tabpages in 3.5, u must do little coding.There is an example here

Creating tab pages in WAD 7.0

Hi team,
I have created a web template with a tab pages. I really dont know how to set a caption for the tabs and assigning created tables in to it.
In properties I have changed the caption name where still it is not changed in the output and I could not able to assign the second tab with another table.
Can any one help me by providing the step by step process of creating a tab pages with 2 tables in WAD.
No links pls if it a general explanation as I have checked with so many general explanations docs.

I have already created tabpages in BI 7.0, it is very easy. I am upload the code of my created tabpages.

In this template I have included 8 Tabpage and each Tabpage will call a different template. While assigning the Webitems and dataproviders to the tabpages follow the naming convention include the sub Template name so that you will not receive error saying duplicate webitem assigned.

Drilldown across all tab pages of WAD

Hi,
I have developed a WAD template (BI 3.5) with 3 querries included. Each query(dataprovider) is displayed in one tab page of the web template.
The question is that if user drilldown on one query, can the drilldown apply to all querries?
How to get the return from the drilldown using javascript?

Hi,
I´m facing a similar problem. We have developed a WAD template with 2 queries included, both in the same tab. We have common filters and free characteristics for both queries.
We want to be able to control the filters and the drill down on free characteristics for both queries simultaneously.
For the filters this works out fine because common filters are automatically applied to both queries, but for the drill down on free characteristics we understand this is not the case.
How should we configure it so that the drilldown on one query applies to the other queri also?

Learning WAD - Tab pages

Hi,
I am new in using WAD and I would like to create tab pages.
I have two reports that I would like the user to choose from with TABS.
So far I managed to create one report in Tab but not the other one.
this is what I have done so far
- drag tab into layout area
- drag container layout into tab
- drag analysis into container layout
- chose data provider
How do I get the other report in the second tab.

you need to assign each one of the container items to the tabstrips. If you look at the properties of the tabstrip_container object, you will have a section called Internal Display there. This is where you will set how many tabs you have (and corresponding container objects to them).
also, look at your XHTML code to verify that the containers fall in within the tab

BEX WAD 7.0 Tab Pages issue with Mandatory Variables

Hello,
I have developed a BEX WAD 7.0 Tab Pages and need to pass Mandatory variables from one tab to other tab. Each tab has Container Layout Item to group them into a tab.
I have Set the Variable Sate for each tab page generically and it passes the variables if all of them are optional variables. If one of them is Mandatory the doesn't pass the value for the variable.
Did anybody face this problem & We are on SAPKW70018? If there are not note specifically for this on higher SP please do let me know.

WAD: Change Background color of TAB pages

Hi Gurus,
I have a requirement to change the background color of the TAB pages in a TAB strip container.
By default it displays in "white" color. How can I change this.

Hi Sandeep,
Not sure if there's a way to change each tab page background color using css etc. But maybe as an alternative if you do not wish to see the tab page background as white and are ok with SAP color themes, you may use a Group webitem (i.e. embed the webitems already on each tab page in a separate Group webitem - if you have more than 1 webitem you would first need to use a Container webitem). For a Group webitem you can choose the background color from Internal Display -> Design property.

I would like to ask if it is possible to format the caption part of the tap pages (maybe css). In my case captions are pretty long that is why I them in 2 or 3 lines.

Hi,
I gess you used SET_SELECTION_STATE_BY_BINDING in Analysis paramter SELECT_ROWS, to display tab2 automatically try to set paramter INITIAL_TAB of tab pages web item, if it doesn't work try also to forece refresh by setting VISIBILITY paramter.

Error in code page mapping for Source system whil loading the data from ECC

HI Gurus,
I am working in a implementation project, Recently our BI sand box is up, when i am doing my load from 0comp_code_attr it is throwing an error "Error in code page mapping for source system"(This is my first load from ECC).
In details tab it is showing as the data is sent from the source system but the data is not reaching to the PSA.
Please let me know if there are any settings needs to be made.

Thanks for your quick response. I did it but it didn't resolve the issue. since the system id which i am having is 3 digits(LEC) but there it is taking only 2 digits, so i clicked on the button called Propose system ids, it has praposed LE, but the issue is stil there.
Do we need to do any settings in LBWE??

Set all Tab pages property

Does anyone know how can I loop through all tab pages in a form (10 tab pages) and set the visible property in run-time.

There is no direct way to do this. You can be sneaky and iterate through each block and then each item in the form using the get_item_property(...,NEXTITEM), then call get_item_property with the CANVAS_NAME attribute, and build up a map of the canvases that way.
Or you can just take the low tech solution of using a naming convention such as WINDOW0_TAB1, WINDOW0_TAB2 etc, then use FIND_CANVAS to loop through those until you get a NULL canvas ID (use ID_NULL() for this)

Web Application Designer - Tab pages

we using BI 7.0 Support Package 14 SAP Gui 6.40.
Any one have step by step doc regarding WAD ( Web Item: Tab pages with Hyperlinks to another web template) with screen shots?

With the Web item parameters of the tab container -> go to Internal Display -> Tab panel
You will see * Tab Panel -> click one the . next to it, do this 3 times, and name you're tab. (now you have made 3 tabs)
Now you won't see them appear in the lay-out (they never will appear there)
Now just make 3 containers (one for each tab) and in these containers, put all the needed components and stuff, define them (properties and stuff)
If you have done that, click on the tab container and go to the Web item parameters of the tab container -> go to Internal Display -> Tab panel
-> click one the . of your first tab
You'll get a new window "Determine Parameters for the Web Item"
-> Subordinate Web Item -> click on the arrow and choose the container that contains the components for the first tab> Do this for all you tabs
=> this is binding the containers to the tabs
You're now ready to execute and you'll see there that there are tabs and the tabs contain te components of the container taht you linked o you're tab.

Using Tab Pages & Web Template Web Items

Hi Experts,
i want to build a report with a tabs
i have created a WAD report with a tab page web item
in the tab page i have inserted three web template web items
and in each web item i have entered a diffrent technical name of a WAD report (3 reports)
but when i run the report i get in all three tab pages
the data of the first report (like it uses DP_1 of the first one)
i have tried to change in the reports the name of the data providers
to DP_7 or whatever and it is not working still.
any one know how to display three WAD reports in a tab page web item?
