Tab position change at runtine of tab canvas

Is it possible to change tab position of tab canvas at runtine in 10g forms?

Gerd: Thank you very much for your advice.
I will explain my situation. I have a form : INV. This has got three tabs : Header, Detail and Expenses. Some users prefer to see Header as the first tab while others want to see Details and still others like to see Expenses.They have their logic - what is important to that particular user he wants to see as the first tab.
These preferences can be set in a different table(by an admin user) and can be applied once when the form opens and not during the runtime.
Since tab order change facility is not available in forms, I need to apply the logic in a different way - activate the tab that each user prefers to see as the form opens regardless of the tab order.
Hope you understand my case.

Tab groups change when deleting a tab

I have 4 tab groups; when I delete a tab in one group (and it's the last tab in the sequence), that tab group closes and a different tab group opens.

All groups on any level are deleted when the site is removed. This can apply on sub-site levels that have unique permission levels too. As Alex mentions, this has no impact on the integrity of other site collections.

Why does my currently active tab group change when I close tabs?

I think it's a bug, but I can't figure out where to post a bug report. I use tab groups (Firefox 5.0), and love them. But often, when I close a tab in one group, I get automatically switched to another tab group. More rarely, Firefox rearranges which tabs are in which groups when this happens. This usually seems to happen when I'm on a pinned "App Tab" (Gmail), and then choose to close one of the tabs via clicking its X with the mouse. I currently have 6 tab groups, all but one of which are named.

Bizarre that we've still got this bug and we are already up to FF7, anyone at mozilla care about quality?

SAPscript - Tab Position need more info

Could some one help me to explain the purpose of the tab position and what is SIGN mean for Alignment attributes.
In the tab position we can declare many TAB position, if we declare Number -1 Tab Position -17.00 CM Alignment - SIGN
is it mean when we put , is it the position of the characters will be at 17cm from the left?

If you give the First tab position as 14 & 2nd Tab position as 17 c.m., it mean the first printing text starts at 14 C.M. and 2nd text starts from 3C.M.(17-14) next to 1st Tab Position (14c.m), i.e., the difference betn 1st Tab & 2nd Tab will 3 c.m.
NOTE: Always any tab position starts from Origin not from the previous tab position.
U dont need to give 2 couple of comma's for 2nd tab position.
Eg:
If you want the Text2 at 2nd tab position, u have to print like below:
P1 ,,text1,,text2
If you want the Text1 at 2nd tab position, print like below:
P1 ,,,,text1

How can i change the direction of tab canvas in 10g ?

hi all
how can i change the direction of tab canvas in 10g at runtime i want to change the direction from left_to_right to right_to_left when i did that the form not appears well
all prompts of item not dispalyed in order of its sequence ,in spite of that it works in 6i well and change direction without any problems
i have been used set_canvas_property and set_view_property but it doesn't work
can anybody help me in this mater?

What exactly did you search for on Google? What is "that"?
Are you trying to add more tab pages to a Tabbed Canvas from the Forms Builder? If so, user13390506 is sort of right. Click on the "Canvases" node of the Object Navigator press the *green + * button to add a new "Content" canvas to your form. Now you need to open the property pallet of the new canvas and change the "Canvas Type" property to "Tab." You will notice that the icon of the new canvas you created in the Object Navigator has changed. Click on the + node next to your new "Tab" canvas to reveal the "Tab Pages" node. Again, open this node (by clicking on the +) to reveal the individual tab pages. By default, Forms will create two tab pages. You can add a tab page in the "Tab Pages" node by clicking on the node and then clicking on the + button. To remove a tab page from the "Tab Pages" node, click on the tab page you want to remove and then click on the *red -* (minus) button.
If you are trying to add a new tab page during the Form runtime - as I mentioned before - this is not possible.
Also, what is your Forms version?

Is it possible to customise the tab/address/menu bar positions? I dislike the default position changes.

Similar to MS Office, one can position all the menu bars in any order, top down or sideways as required. I find that with ver 4, the tabs on the top line , the search, home buttons etc are not intuitive and are quite annoying with their positional changes.

You can still use/see the Menu Bar (''File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help'') if you prefer it:

Indent here with left indent changes tab position

I have a sheet set up with a left indent and then a bunch of tabs.
e.g.: Course #, Course description, then a set of eight tabs with dates
The course descriptions are twice as long this year and so I was using indent-to-here (because there are rules below, and shift-return pushes the rule below under the second line only). But the tabs don't line up. They are "looking" at the left indent and making an adjustment - if I increase the left indent then the tabs associated with the indent-to-here line move left (the bigger the left indent the further left they are from the tab position)
Why?
Why would anyone want that to be the default behavior?
I can fix it with a second para style, but it breaks the association between the two lines of the description and now requires manual updating in the future, instead of a simple indent-to-here substitution.
I'm just wondering why this happens, seems completely counter intuitive - tabs should always align!

Will: As you can see by the screenshot it's easily "solved" with a second style, my reason for writing is why is this happening? - is this a bug that needs to be reported to Adobe? I don't understand why an Indent Here (given a left Indent), would change the primary attributes of tabs (i.e. lining-up!)
Peter: Prefs trashed; happens on any/all docs; CS6 (8.0.2). [You are setting a left indent, and then using the Indent Here (Cmd\)??]

Blank tab position: How can I make new (CTRL+T) tabs open on the left instead of far right?

When I open a new tab (new, blank tab, from a link), it opens on the far right of the tab bar. This doesn't work for me because when I open a new tab, I use it immediately, so I would like it to be appear adjacent to the tab I'm currently using. I've scoured support and forums without finding a way to change the position of new tabs.
NOTE: When I say "new tab," I am mean NEW tabs - the kind that contain the new tab page, created using CTRL+T or File->New Tab not tabs opened from links. I am emphasizing this point because I have found plenty of questions and answers about how to make links opened in a new tab open on the far right or next to the current tab by changing the value in browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent in about:config.

Help using app_standard.event(when-tab-page-changed')

I need to create a form with the following requirements . There is one content canvas which contains a tabbed canvas and on this there are two stacked canvases .
The problem is that when I compile my form and ftp to oebs , I cannot view the tab pages on the canvas .
I see only my the fields displayed in the first tab page without the 'tab pages'.
How do I solve this issue please ?

Can't move tabs anymore and can't add tabs to or change homepage in new version 4

I can no longer switch tabs positions, and I can't change homepage, i am stuck on top sites also lost all forward back new tab stop reload, I had to add them to the tool bars. If i can't move tabs or save and quit then I am going back to older version

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Tab pages not changed when selecting from TAB LIST

Hi All,
I have a form which has 15 tabs, 1st 10 Tabs are dynamic (enabled at new form instance, depending on configuration) and 11 to 15 are Static tabs visible for all.
My problem is when i am clicking on tabs iam able to switch tabs, but when I select tab from Tab List I am not going to the selected TAB.
Ex: when I am in TAB 1 and Select TAB15 from Tab list My form Still Stays in TAB1 and not moving to TAB 15
Please provide me a Solution.

In your trigger, you are doing a SHOW_VIEW ('HDR_CANVAS_FIXED'); before you select the :GLOBAL.HEADERS information. I'm not sure what HDR_CANVAS_FIXED is, but I am wondering if that is what is messing you up. What happens if you either comment that out:

i have 1 table e.g. Employees
It's fields displayed in tab's pages canvas
i want to navigate through the keyboard from the Last item in page_1 to the First Item in page_2 and so on...
they r in the same table i want to make it programatically not distributing items manually...

So, it should work as you wrote. I don't see any problem in this code.
2) i want to navigate through the keyboard from the Last item in page_1 to the First Item in page_2 and so on...programatically ...Okay, there are three options...
1. If you set the order of items in object navigator (which you don't want) then by pressing the enter key on last item of tab page it will move to the second tab's first item.
2. Create KEY-NEXT-ITEM trigger and use the GO_ITEM() and send on next tab page's first item.
3. Use the navigable property as i mentioned earlier.

Lock Tab Control Tabs Position

Hello. I have a tab control with multiple rows of tabs. When the VI is run, when you click on a tab that it is not in the bottom row, it will shuffle that row to the bottom. Does anyone know of a way to prevent this shuffle from occuring and lock the tabs in a certain position?

I agree that that can be annoying. Because the tab is connected to the tabpage, the one selected has to move to the front. If if stayed in the top row, then you could not see or click the bottom row.
One alternative is to hide the tabs, change the tab control to an indicator, and create a customized radio button control which looks like the tabs.
