Tab security in Portal

Is there a bug in version 9.0.2.2.22 of Portal regarding Tabs? I looked in MetaLink and found nothing.
I have 4 tabs on a page named USER1, USER2, USER3, and USER4 corresponding to the user of the same name. I removed the inheritance from the page, and added the corresponding user (and only the corresponding user) to the tab advanced settings. Then I added all the users to the page access setings.
No matter who logs in they can see all the tabs.
Any help will be appreciated

Dear all,
I am getting the same problem. Even though I set the "Specify Access Settings" option, the tab is showing to other users.
Any solution ? I fed up by searching on otn and metalink. No answers..
With Regards,
Sheeja

  • How to hide a tab/book in portal

Hello, I am building a website which requires a valid username and password to get in. Depending on the type of the user (client or admin) the users can view certain tabs or books in the portal (the admin will be able to view all available books). Is there anyway to hide a book/tab from the portal? I am using Weblogic 8.1 SP 3
    Thank you

You can use taglibs and EL to control the output flow in JSP. A standard taglib is JSTL. For conditional statements you can use JSTL's <c:choose> or <c:if> tags. Syntax is nothing more than obvious, here's some pseudocode:<c:if test="${display tab123}">
        <div id="tab123"></div>
    </c:if>

  • What is the Web Dynpro tab on the portal page?

    Newbie here...
I am confused between NDWS and the Web Dynpro tab on the portal page.  As I don't have access to either right now, I need to know what is required by a Portal Content Admin to maintain an application.  The Basis people do the JCO setup.  Those are the only tabs I have seen when using the Web Dynpro tab from the portal, not NDWS.  Seeing as I don't have access to either tool, and I have to ask for what I need and I don't know what I need...  Been there?
I guess my question is the use of the two tools.
    Thanks,
    Amy Smith
    Haworth, Inc.

Thanks so much for a quick response!
So, the Web Dynpro Content Admin is normally a part of the content admin role.  Hmm... I get a "you are not authorized" when I click that tab, even though I can do iViews, etc. and was told I have the content admin role.  So if no one edited the rights of the content admin, I should be able to get into Web Dynpro Content Admin tool.  Is this so?  Is there any special user config, check box, etc in addition to the role?
Is the Dynpro content admin tool useful for content admins or content developers?
My Basis person does not want the content admin to be able to change JCO settings.  Is there a way to give the content admin rights to everything in the WDCA   except that?
Thanks again.  I am a J2EE developer who volunteered to take content admin and content development roles and am trying to figure out what has been done here and what needs to be done.  On top of that anyone who has been involved claims "I know nothing..."  until I ask specific questions.  It's just hard to know what the specific questions are.
I know, training...  No money. Sigh...  I am good at doing tutorials and reading manuals and experimenting, however, I need access to the right tools and permissions first.
    Thanks again.

  • File Security on Portal - Help Please urgent

    Hello all,
I need an urgent help on File Security on Portal.
suppose we have 5 .PDF files in a perticular directory on the portal server. I want to have J2EE engine check if the user is already logged into portal or not. If the user is not logged in I want to throw logon screen asking them to Login. If the user is logged in I want to show the document directly.
How to configure these things. Please help me.
    Thanks and regards,
    Vasu Pabbaraju.

    Hi,
instead of storing Your files into the portal server's filesystem You could store them into KM.
If the file "dummy.pdf" is stored into the KM folder "/documents/test", You could call it via
    http(s)://<potal server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents/test/dummy.pdf
The portal will ask for a login before displaying the document.
    Best Regards

  • Create tabs in Enterprise Portal 6.0

    Hi,
I began using SAP a couple days ago and I want to integrate an application into the portal. Before I do that, I am trying to learn some basics.  I've created a sample iView, deployed it to the portal and it worked as expected. Now I want to import some data into the portal and verify that I can create new tabs to navigate to my iView.
I've logged into the EP as administrator and created a new folder under Portal Content->Content Provided by Other Vendors.  I added a workset, page, and my iView to the folder and then exported it.  I manually moved the exported file into my Import directory and imported the .epa file.
After doing this, I do not the tabs I thought should appear in the portal.  It appears the UI has not changed after the import.  I thought the workset and page would add the appropriate tabs in the portal but not so.
Do you know of a simple tutorial that illustrates how to add navigation tabs to the portal?  I'm sure I am doing some basic things wrong, but I haven't found the right information to guide me yet.
    Thank you very much

Thanks for your responses.  Unfortunately, I am still unable to see any navigation tabs added to the portal.  I followed advice from this post as well, SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC)
but still had no luck.  I must be missing some steps.
Is it necessary to export a .epa file and then import it in order to see the tabs? -- that is what I've tried.
I have created an iView and I would like to create a transport package that one could import into a portal. Once the package has been imported into the user's portal, he should navigate the tabs at the top of the portal to get to the iView  (similar to the tabs: Content Administration -> Portal Content)
Can someone please provide a procedure to add navigation tabs to my portal. Please don't omit any cruicial steps because I am obviously missing something simple here.
    Many thanks!

  • IFrames not supported for my secure work portal. Nb this also happens with IE9

I have a secure internet portal to log into for my work email. We use iNotes.
I login using a user name, a password, a four digut code in conjunction with an RAS token. I can get into the website ie authenticated, but when trying to get to the home page or iNotes home page I get an 'iFrames not supported' message. Note I also get this for ie 9 (x32 and x64). Having said this iNotes does not 'play' at all well in IE8 and higher...it has always worked well in Firefox until v4.0. Also not much help from the IBM web support page for iNotes.

  • Oracle Poratal Security Or Portal Security Infrastructure

We need to implement the Oracle Portal Application user for Authentication and Authorization. We have different pages for different user roles, so please help me how can I use "Oracle Poratal Security Or Portal Security Infrastructure" for securing porlets or pages from unauthorized accesss.

I suggest taking a look at chapter 6 - "Securing your Portal" of the OracleAS Portal Configuration Guide to get an idea of the security architecture and at the security-related information in the Portal User's Guide.
You can find these guides in the Application Server documentation library on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver101202.html

  • Portal tab security

I have a page with item level security enabled for the page.
I have added 5 tabs on one of the sections, and have set security for each of the tabs.
On one of the tabs I limited the access to 1 group, however anyone that has access to the page group can see that tab. Is there an overriding security for tabs somewhere I do not know about?
    Thanks,
    Peter

First, check the access for the PAGE GROUP properties since any access granted there will override specific access to a tab on a page in that page group. I've set up all the page groups in our portal to not have any access granted to any groups at the PAGE GROUP level but set it on the Root page of that page group (then sub pages can either inherit that access or I can specify different access at the page, tab, or even item level.)

  • Attribute Level Security on Portal Tabs

We are using a set of tabs on a single portal page. We need the ability to
display each tab based upon either an attribute or a PL/SQL result set.
Currently the only options for tab level security are person and Group. This
    does not meet our needs.
For Example, we have two tabs on the page (employee and manager). Everyone is
an employee and only some are managers. We want only the managers to view the
content on the manager tab. The only option we have is to create a manager
group which will not work due to performance reasons (over 20,000 managers
identified). We cannot manage this in groups.
We need to know how to display the tabs by either a person level attribute or
    SQL query.
    Thanks,
    Rich

    Hi,
ADF Security and ADF Business Component security both provide this functionality. Both use JAAS permissions for authorization that can be assigned to user roles. You find information in the developer guide

  • Page and Tab Security

    Hi
This is probably a very basic issue and shows my lack of experience with the product.
I have a number of tabs across a page. One of the tabs I need to control so that only certain users will have access to it. I have set Item level security for this tab and assigned it to a new group 'KEY_USERS'. I have added a user to it and tested the application but I am still able to see the tab when I log on as a user not in the Group.
Can anyone please explain what I am missing here please ? Remeber I am still new to Portal !
    Thanks
    Regards
    Kevin

    Hi
Have reviewed the Portal Group and removed the AUTHENTICATED_USERS privilege and created View Only access to the group that I've created as well as a specific user. This still doesn't work so I have a further question please ?
I have created a set of 5 tabs across a page. I need to control access to 1 of these tabs so it is only visible for persons assigned to a particular Group. Am I correct that it is possible to control access to 1 Tab item or is it only possible to control for all tabs in a region ? Hope the question makes sense ?
    Thanks

  • How to set different navigation items for each content tab in xMII portal

    Hi,
Scenario : I have added three content tabs in the xMII portal.
I want to change the items in the navigation tree when each of the content tabs are selected.
    How is this possible?
    Please help.

    Vaishali,
The built-in navigation tree is not intended for this sort of thing, where just like with the tabs it is intended to provide role/user based content links.
You would be better off having your content tab link pass a criteria to the default target frame and allow a web page to give you the second level of dynamics.  Your content tab links could be something quite simple like "Page.irpt?Tree=1", "Page.irpt?Tree=2", "Page.irpt?Tree=3" and your irpt page would receive the Tree property and you could react accordingly in your web page.
