Hi,
Have you been able to print using the mobile apps previously? It might be worth restarting your device and re-connecting to the wfi network.
If there has been a password change to the network, the password will need to be re-entered on both the tablet and printer.

  • HP 3520 will not print in black

I replaced the HP black ink cartridge with a new one and now it will not print black at all on my HP3520 Deskjet.
The color cartridges are printing okay.
I followed suggestions from your web site and did multiple cleanings of the printhead.  The air vents are clear on top also.
I believe the printer is out of warranty.  I see a lot of other people have the same problem with the black ink.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi carvcom,
I saw that you were having a black ink out issue with your Deskjet 3520 and wanted to see if that problem had been resolved!
I just want to make sure that you've covered all of the steps within this Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages document.
If you have and the problem persists it would be time for you to call in to HP Tech Support and inquire about a product replacement, regardless of your warranty status.

  • My HP Deskjet 3520 will not print in black after replacing cartridge

I have just replaced all my ink cartridges in my HP DESKJET 3520 printer (it's wireless).  It prints in color fine, but not in black.  I've tried cleaning the print head, aligning the cartridges, checking the breather on the cartridges.  I've also just opened up another black cartridge, thinking maybe my new one was defective.  So now I've just wasted a cartridge.
so frustrated! My printer is more than a year old now to.  So no warranty.  when I click on the printer ink levels, it's recognizing I have full cartridges - but it's not printing in black at all.

  • Deskjet 3520 Black not printing

I have a Deskjet 3520e All-in-One printer and I just replaced all four of the ink cartidges in it because they were empty. Now, suddenly the black will not print.
I have done all the fixes suggested by the support documents on this website. The cartidges are genuine, I bought them from the HP online store, they are installed correctly, and vented correctly. I have done an alignment as well as printhead cleanings. I used the HP Scan and Print Doctor application which said there is nothing wrong with my printer.
I am not sure what else to try at this point except maybe to by yet another cartidge to see if a different one would work. I have never had issues with this printer before.  I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

  • HP 3520 not printing black ink

My HP deskjet 3520 is not printing black even though the cartridge is brand new.  I've tried the clean printhead tool, plugging printer and turning back on, re-seating the cartridge, checked the vent, did a partial reset of the printer, reinstalled drivers.  Now i'm just stressed!  Any thing left to try before chucking this printer and the double pack of brand new black cartridges?  Any help much appreciated.

  • Hp 3520 black ink not printing

    Hi,
I just replaced a black ink in my 3520 printer and it's not printing black anymore. I've tried reainstalling software, resetting printer to factory defaults, checking ink vent and even upgrading firmware. Same behavior when printing from 2 laptops and printer itself (test pages).
    Please help.

    Hi Ciara,
So far they want to replace the printer with model with lower specs - ENVY 4500.One of the reasons I've chosen 3520 was because it comes with 3 individual colour cartidges. I try to limit waste and don't like an idea of throwing whole cartidge away only because one ink got depleted in a cartidge and 2 others are still good to go.
In particual I don't like "offical replacement policy" that allows HP replace a broken unit with other that has lower specs or is significantly different. At this point, I'm rather disappointed with HP SG Support. Still waiting for reply on other options though.

  • Deskjet 3520 e-all in one printer not printing black ink

I just installed a new hp 564xl black ink cartridge with an expiration date of 01/30/2017. Low and behold the black  is not printing and the printer was purchased in 08/2012. I did everything that was suggested in the support forums and to no avail did anything work. The three other colors print out fine except the black. Based upon everyone's answers I guess there is no repair for it and I should scrap this unit after three years of constant use. I would think by now there would of been a solution posted to this problem but Hp has failed us. I've been using HP printer products since I purchased my first computer in 1992 and never had a problem with them until now.  My second printer which was purchased in 2004 is still going strong, except that it is not wireless. If I need to purchase a new wireless printer, I'm sorry to say that  I might have to look at the competition. If anyone knows of a solution I would appreciate it.

The post here has links to a troubleshooting document for the Deskjet 3520.  If the steps there do not resolve the issue please contact HP Support, even if the printer is no longer under warranty.   If the above does not give satisfactory results then please post back here and mention the country you are in.

  • Black ink not printing hp 3520

I am also having trouble with the black ink not printing. I have tried everything that was recommended  with no results. When I replaced my cartridges I used genuine HP ink. I see a trend here! VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

I recently had this problem where my black ink jet stopped working after I installed a new cartridge.  The printer was just a couple of months outside the warranty period,so I was stuck.  I went online and found HP instructions.  Following the different troubleshooting suggestions, I took out the cartridge and installed another new one.  The problem was still there.  After following every other advice given (such as aligning, cleaning cartridge heads, etc.) and using up all of the ink in my brand new expensive color cartridges, the only solution HP could give me was get it serviced ($90 just for someone to look at it!) or buy a new one (what a waste!).
So, I tried my own solution, which is as follows:   (1) completely remove the sticker from the vented side of the cartridge; (2) run the point of a safety pin through the vent (the whole trail); (3) wipe the circle where the ink comes out with a wet paper towel until it cleans to almost white; (4) over a paper towel, blow forcefully into the hole near the middle and then squeeze the sides of the ink jet until the ink squirts out (be careful as the ink may project out quickly and will stain clothes, carpet, etc.); (5) when the circle is completely saturated, re-install the ink cartridge; (6) using the copier function, print a copy of a document that is just black and white; (7) repeat about 2 to 3 times until the copies come out perfectly.
This resolved my problem; unfortunately, it was after I followed all the nonsense steps HP puts out that used up all my other cartridges.  Hope I can save someone the trouble.

  • HP Printer will not print in black

I have a MacBook Air. A couple days ago, my HP OfficeJet 6500 Wireless completely stopped printing black ink. The print cartridge is full, and we even took it out, put it back in, ran the diagnostic tests, cleaned, etc. The printer DOES print text in color. Frustrated, we eventually switched the printer with another, my HP 3520. This printer has always worked fine with my MacBook Air. After we connected this one, we found that IT WILL NOT PRINT BLACK EITHER! Only color! So frustrating. What the heck is going on?!

    Hi @Lewis77,
I see that you are experiencing a issue with the black cartridge has stopped printing. I would like to help.
Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.
    Printing a Network Configuration Page.
If the hardware self test prints, then delete and add the printer driver back in again.
Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer on the left column and click on the - sign to delete that driver.
Then click on the + sign, highlight the printer, make sure below where it says Use, it is selected on your printer name.
Then click on the Add button. (you might have to click the drop down beside Use to select the printer from the list)
    Try printing again.
If the hardware self test didn't print in black, please try the following steps in these documents to resolve this issue.
Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages.
This document provides steps for manually cleaning the contacts.
'The following ink cartridge appears to be missing or damaged' Error Message Displays on the Printer...
Here are the steps for manually cleaning the printhead.
'Printhead Problem' or 'Printhead Appears to be Missing or Damaged' Message Displays on the Printer ...
Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
Check the date on the cartridges to make sure they are still in warranty. (not old stock)
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a nice day!

  • Black ink not printing

My HP deskjet which is 2 months out of warranty, which i have recently bought new HP cartridges for, now won't print black (other colors are all fine).
If have spent hours and hours trying to fix this, following all the advice on this forum - believe me, I have tried cleaning the vent, cleaning the print head. The really frustrating thing I had just bought new ink for the machine $60  thrown away and now my printer won't print. I'm $60 out and I need to purchase a new machine very frustrating and this machine is used very little only occasionally to print a few checks and a few emails.
I promise you this HP won't be my next choice.

  • Re: HP Deskjet 3520 - Won't print Black text

All of a sudden my black will not print..I have replaced all of the cartridges & still nothing--I am ready to throw this thing out the window...please advise me...

My HP Deskjet 3520 wont print black nither.
I have tried all tools in setup and made sure cartridges are good.
I checked to see if it was still under warrantyon the web site and it told me to call HP, the numbers they listed are all charged per min calls. I am so flabbergasted at HP, I cant believe HP put out such a junkie printer if at a year the black ink head goes out. I have read on-line that this is a very common problem and HP does not help with the issue. if you cant offer anything new to my issue don't bother, and please don't tell me to go through the troubleshooting page that tells you to check the paper, cartrage vent .....   if your going to help lets go to the sencond teer of troubleshooting or tell HP to get their ack together and take care of these issues. I have always been an HP user but im done with HP if they cant fix this.

  • HP Deskjet 3520 won't print magenta.

Hi - Recently the magenta in my printer stopped working. I replaced the cartridge, thinking it might be faulty but that didn't help. I have cleaned the print heads and done an alignment but nothing seems to work. What else could it be? Thanks!

Hi , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see the magenta stopped working on your HP Deskjet 3520, you replaced the cartridge, cleaned the printheads and aligned the printer with no success. Please make sure you have not missed any steps listed here: Printer Prints a Blank Page or Does Not Print Black or Color Ink  If you complete all of the steps in the document above and the issue continues, my own personal recommendation, not one of HPs, is to use the solution offered in the following video.  I only suggest doing this if the printer is out of warranty; How to fix a HP Printer, not printing black ink and missing colours  Although the printer might be out of warranty, if the issue persists, HP may be able to offer you something. Please call our technical support at www.hp.com/contacthp/.  If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html HP printers generally have a 1 year warranty from their purchase date, you can verify the warranty using the following link if you would like; warranty check.  I hope this helps.

    Hello @ Averus89,
    Welcome to the HP forum.
I understand you have done quite a lot to resolve your M176n and its connection to the ePrint service.
I would like to help you with this issue.
If the printer is not printing the web services info sheet, or allowing you to add it to HP Connected, I
    would set a manual DNS.
I wont go into great detail about setting this up. From your post, I feel you know your way around the printer and your network. If I am mistaken, let me know. I will go into detail.
    The DNS to try is:
    Primary: 209.244.0.3
    Secondary: 209.244.0.4
Set the DNS then try printing the web services info page again.
Let me know if this helps.

  • HP Laserjet 4100 on network will not print

Since I’ve installed Snow Leopard, I have not been able to print with my HP Laserjet 4100.
My set-up: new 24” iMac, many hard drives and more. Two devices: HP Color Laserjet 5550 and HP Officejet J5750 are connected to the iMac through a USB Hub. Although initially scanning did not work with the J5750, I was able to make that work once additional drivers were downloaded from HP. Both work fine.
I also have an older HP Laserjet 4100 which has been my steady workhorse for years. It only has Ethernet and serial port outlets. It is connected to an AT&T 2-Wired Ethernet Hub/DSL Modem (model 2701HG-B) that is connected to the iMac.
I’ve contacted HP and Apple about this problem. None of the three people I worked with at Apple could help and the HP representative was unsure if they could help but that it would cost me $40 to find out. According to HP website, since Apple Talk no longer exists, we are required to input the IP for the device. For the 4100, the IP address is 10.0.1.100. I tried this two ways: in the “Add Printer” window under “IP,” inputted as the IPP, and inputted as the HP Jetdirect Socket (as per the HP instructions). When this is done, the printer shows up when you give a print command. However, it does not show up in the “Add Printer” window under “default” or anywhere else.
Status: If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable directly to the back of the iMac, the “Supply” level indicates the true level of toner in the 4100. However, it will not print. If I connect the 4100 Ethernet cable to the Ethernet hub, the supply level does not show nor can I print.
    Any suggestions?

I am struggling with the same problem. I have two HP 4100dtn printers on ethernet. Each has a manually assigned IP address. I can set up the printer(s) just fine in the Print & Fax Preference and Snow Leopard finds the printer just fine when I enter the IP address and chooses the correct HP Driver.
When I try to print, my print job appears in the queue as expected, than an error appears that something about a "bad command". Sorry, I'm home right now and don't have direct access to the printer so I can't give you the precise language of the message, but the gist of the message is that the system tried to connect to the printer to send the print data but the printer does not know how to respond to the command that was sent.
It's as if the firmware in the 4100 just doesn't have something in it's lexicon that Snow Leopard needs. The HP web site is no help. One page I found says the printer is supported (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01664444&jumpid=regR1002USEN ) and another page I found says that it is not supported (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&obje ctID=c01879014&jumpid=regR1002USEN). The HP on line chat won't let me log in and hold a chat with HP unless I know the Serial Number of the printer, which I don't have here at home.
    More to follow tomorrow.
    Anyone have any ideas?
