Table disappears in design mode

i have a table that is disappearing in design mode. i am
copying and pasting content (text) into the cells manually,
specifically dealer information NAME, CITY, PHONE. well i am almost
done with adding the content but now the bottom of the table is
disappearing when i click in a cell to paste the content. the
strange thing is that only the portion that is on screen actually
disappears. if i scroll up, i can see the table and its contents.
it seems that the screen refreshes and i can scroll back down and
the table has reappeared. but once again, as soon as it click in
the cell, it's gone.
i thought this might be because the table is so long (3
columns wide by 300 + long). am i right?
i have a gig of RAM and only two programs running, so memory
shouldn't be the problem.
Please Help!!!

  • Bug:  HTML table row with id on design mode does not display properly

    JDeveloper studio edition version 10.1.3.3.0.4157
Created a very simple JSP file, which has a table of 3 rows, 3 columns.
Added id attr to second row, JDeveloper does not recognize the row in Design mode. See sample code below.
    <html>
    <head>
<title>JDeveloper JSP Design Mode tr with ID</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" border="1" width="300">
    <tr><td>1</td><td>2</td><td>3</td></tr>
    <tr id="row2"><td>4</td><td>5</td><td>6</td></tr>
    <tr><td>7</td><td>8</td><td>9</td></tr>

    Thanks for your quick response.
I will post another bug. Please check.

  • When snapping a rectangle to the top of the page left space between rectangle disappears in the preview (not in the design mode)

I think the image looks more descriptive than my words actually.. When I move the first rectangle to the top of the page the gradient background disappear in the preview (on the right side of the screen), even though I still can see that in my Design Mode (left handside). Everytime the top rectangle snaps to the top of the page the second rectangle snaps to the first one in the preview (both muse preview and browser preview)...Any help?

Seems you have applied scroll on second rectangle with key position setup on top of the page edge as a result when page edge is reached the second rectangle scrolls up on the page.
If this is not the case then please provide more details.
    Thanks,

  • Nested tables don't look right in design mode

When I view www.akashhealingcenter.com with IE or Safari,
everything looks fine. However, when I open the page in DW 2004,
the tables don't look correct while in design or code/design mode.
I've driven myself nuts trying to find out what I can do so
    that it looks correct.
If I can get it to look right, I can turn daily maintenance
(text updates mostly) to someone else - however, with the design
looking so unlike the actual web page, I can't.
I'm assuming the nested tables, graphic image backgrounds in
the table data, etc. are driving DW 2004 nuts. I really don't want
to spring for a new version of DW, so I hope that's not the answer.
    Thanks for the help.

  • DW89 Design Mode Disappears

I am using Dreamweaver 8 for Mac (from Studio *) on a G-5,
2,5 dual. Version of DW is 8.2
When updating content in an existing site, on a rather long
page, I found that the lower half of the page simply disappeared. I
could not bring it on the screen in design mode. The HTML was
    there, but nothing in design.
I finally switched back to MX version and was able to see the
entire page and finish my work.
    Anyone experience similar problem?
    Any suggestions?

    Nice workaround, David!

  • Web Page Text Disappearing in Design View

    Hi,
I'm using Dreamweaver 8, and I am loading the page of an
existing web page into Dreamweaver (page was coded in notepad, not
in Dreamweaver). The web page uses CSS and is full of text. Problem
is, I cannot see any of the text that is in a table while in design
    view.
The tables in design view look like they are compressed
together, and the site in design view doesn't resemble the actual
    page at all.
I can see the text on the webpage in code view, and when I
preview the page in IE or Firefox, the text is there - however in
    Design view it disappears!
I have tried Expanded Tables Mode too, but no luck.
Any suggestions? Is there some setting I need to adjust, to
see the text on this page while in design view?
    Thanks!
    N~

  • Design mode not working in Jdev 10g

    Hi All
I am facing some problem in Jdeveloper 10g. I created a project few days back. Today when I am opening jsp pages of that project, It is not coming in the Design mode. It writes only "Page Directives" instead of showing Forms and Tables. But when I run them, it shows the tables etc properly in browser.
Can anybode help me out to open the page in Design mode again.
    Regards
    Rexy

    Hi Chris
According to the note, These files gate changed when they are inside WEB-INF. But in my case, these files are parallel to WEB-INF and still they are showing this kind of behaviour.

  • Can I fade out the targets in the Design mode?

I  did put some triggers and targets from the tooltip widgets on my site. How can I make the targets disappear in the Design mode??? Of course they are gone in the Preview mode, but hey disturb me very much in the Designe mode, cause I can't see anything behind.

    Hello,
Disable the option shown in this screenshot: http://jingsite.businesscatalyst.com/jing/2013-10-18_2304.png

  • Component Panel ( Design mode) loosing custom components

Wonder if anyone else encounter this phenomenon?
After placing custom Flash components ( compiled intoa SWC
file) in the project's <Libs> directory, they are available
and working in Source mode, but you can't see them in the custom
Folder (In the Design Mode). Only after closing and opening the
    project they appear.
However, they keep disappearing ( randomly) from the folder,
and only after Open/Close project they reappear. Other custom
components such as MXML modules behave ok.
As far as the application these components work fine and are
    recognized by the compiler.
I'm using Stand Alone, FB3 version 1201207; on WXP Sp2.
( Reported this as a bug
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-11554
Did anyone else experienced this (similar) behavior ?

Same problem here. Except I have even less luck getting it to
consistently appear than you. Sometimes it works great, other times
they vanish and nothing I can do to get them to return. MXML
modules seem fine.. it's just with the Flash SWC files. Plus
sometimes I have no visual indication in design view of the Flash
module on my canvas, and other times it displays. (This is with no
changes to the SWC file at all). But it always runs okay.

  • CSS rules show up in design mode, but not in live or in browser.

So some rules work in the browser some appear when in design mode, but not in live mode or in the browser.
In one case there is no competing rules I applied background color and border color to a dynamic table and I see the colors in design view.  In another there is a competing rule, but the one that wins is #content, when the rule I want #content #footer p is (obviously) a compound and at the bottom of the rules.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Gregg

AH In preparing my stylesheet to show you, I noticed the rule above those two was missing it's ending curly brace. Problem solved! That's what I get for checking code when I am sleepy!
    Thank you SnakeEyez02

  • Why are tables disappearing when Engineering Logical Entity Hierarchies to Relational

Tables disappearing when Engineering Entity Hierarchies Logical to Relational
We are using 4.0.3.  We have a model with imported from Designer with a number of Entity Hierarchies.
The model has a three of entity hierarchies (ORD, PLAN and STEP) each with a number of subtypes.  Single tables are built for each of the entity hierarchies and are called (ORD, PLAN and STEP).
If I make a change within an entity hierarchy in the subtype (ORD_METRIC) and forward engineer the only ORD entity hierarchy as single table, the table ORD gets update but the tables STEP and PLAN disappears from the Relational table list.    They only remain if I select all three entity hierarchies when engineering to relational.
Have I a missed selecting an option?

    Hi,
in current implementation for entity hierarchies (only) - "engineering to" flag is used also as implementation flag for entity, i.e. if entity is not set to be engineered there will be no implementation as table for that entity in relational model. Attributes of such entity will be implemented in another entity engineered to relational model. If no one entity from hierarchy is engineered (no implementation) then existing corresponding table(s) will be removed.
We'll change it in the future to be less confusing.

  • Bex Analyzer Design Mode

I am creating a workbook using the new Bex Analyzer Design Mode. I klick on the "Table" icon and then double click to get into the <b>Analysis Grid Properties</b>.
Here I select a Dataprovider and Query. Now here comes my question. On the Analysis Grid Properties - Tab "General" you have the possibility to influence "Behavior" by checking or unchecking certain fields:
    - <b>Can I check Field "Use Formulas" in combination with
field "Allow Navigation"?</b> Does that mean that I use
the "Convert to Formula" Function for the query but am
still a able to drill down and slice and dice?
    - I am a little confused because I thought that when
using the <b>"Convert to Formula" Function you are not
able to use the drill-down/slice and dice functionality
      any more????</b>
Can you help me with that?
    Thanks a lot
Message was edited by: Alex Miller

Yes, you can check both and actually use the slice and dice functionality and formulas at the same time if you set the properties from design mode. For runtime mode, if you choose convert to formula, you loose the drilldown capabilities.
It is not recommended to use both at the same time as the cell references that you use in the "Convert to Formula" mode change when you drilldown, and and copies of those references aren't updated.
This may help you in some creative scenarios, but in general, I wouldn't use these 2 together.

  • Design mode??

Hey, I am new to dreamweaver, my college uses macromedia 8 >< and i have CS4 at home... but my next webdesign homework has to do with creating tables and cells in Design Mode (where you pretty much create a table or a cell as if you were drawing a rectangle in photoshop or illustrator). I woke up this morning trying to apply what i learned yesterday at school to CS4 and i cant seem to make it work.. i dont know if that feature has been taken out or if i can find it someplace else, and I've tried pretty much since 7am to find out where did it go...
I need someone to either point me to the right direction or tell me if its gone, how can i work around it.. or if i just have to create tables the old way and no other way..
    plz some1?

You are referring to Layout mode, and that "FEATURE" was removed from DWCS4 because it created such fragile code.  If your class is trying to teach you how to use this, then you need to have a long talk with the professor.  He/She would do much better by teaching you more CSS in this allotted time than a deprecated and antique function.
In my opinion, there are three serious problems with Layout Mode -
    1.  Perhaps most importantly, it sits between you and *real* HTML tables,
and fools you into believing that concepts like "layout cell" and
"autostretch" really mean something.  They do not.  As long as you use
Layout Mode, you'll never learn one of the most important things for new web
developers - how to build solid and reliable tables.
    2.  Actually, #1 wouldn't be *so* bad, except that the code that is written
by Layout Mode is really poor code.  For example, a layout table contains
MANY empty rows of cells.  This can contribute to a table's instability.
In addition, if your initial positioning of the table's cells is a bit complex,
Layout Mode will throw in col- and rowspans aplenty as it merges and splits
cells willy-nillly to achieve the pixel-perfect layout you have specified.  Again,
this is an extremely poor method for building stable tables, because it allows
changes in one tiny cell's shape (i.e, dimensions) to ripple through the rest
of the table, usually with unexpected and sometimes disastrous consequences.
This is one of the primary reasons for the final result's fragility - read this -
    http://apptools.com/rants/spans.php
    3.  The UI for Layout Mode is beyond confusing - many options that you might
want to use are inaccessible, e.g., inserting another table, or layer onto the page.
I can understand the new user's desire to use this tool to make their life easier,
but the cost is just too heavy in my opinion.
To make good tables, keep it simple.  Put a table on the page, and begin to
load your content.  If you would want a different table layout, instead of
merging or splitting cells, consider stacking tables or nesting simple
    tables instead, respectively.
Luckily, Adobe understands the problems created for the unsuspecting user who falls into this trap,
and has removed this feature altogether from CS4.  The time is right for you to begin working with tables properly!
If you have to work with tables, go here - http://www.dreamweaverfaq.com and read the table tutorials there.
    Or - here's more -
    1.  When I need to merge cells...
        a.  If they are horizontally adjacent, instead of merging them, I end
the current table, and 'stack' a new one underneath it with the desired cell
    configuration.
        b.  If they are vertically adjacent, then I end the current table at the
row ABOVE the row where the need for merging begins.  I then start a new
table with two cells in one row, and place a properly structured inner table
in each of those two cells.
    2.  When I need to split cells, I just insert a nested table with the proper
cell configuration into the cell I would otherwise split.
The goal here is to completely avoid merging or splitting cells (i.e., using
col- or rowspan attributes in your table markup), since that's what makes
    Layout mode's tables so fragile.

  • Why has my form suddenly disappeared from design view?

My form has just disappeared from 'design view' but if i hit 'live view' it re-appears, the code is all there i just cant view it?

    Ness_quick wrote:

Its because your table code is broken. I had a job this morning wading through it so I eventually selected just the from part - <form>    </form> - which I believe is intact and dumped it in another DW file.
If you can't find the broken or missing tag/s can I suggest you do this and rebuild the outer table.
