Table editing causes Keynote '09 to crash

Hello folks,
I have experienced on a regular basis crash of Keynote whenever I try to add or edit a table. This happens both with already existing files and working on presentations created by scratch.
The crash consists in the appearance of a warning message (I have the Italian version of Keynote, I have not idea of the message in English), that informs me that an error occurred in Keynote and that I must close the application and re-open it. Even if I do exactly this, when I try to re-launch the application, a new warning message appears. In this case, I have the possibility to quit, retry or send a report to Apple. If I retry, the application starts loading the default settings (English language). To get the Italian language to work, I have to delete the file "com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist" in the folder \Library\Preferences.
I have already installed the most recent upgrade (iWork09Update2.dmg), but this does not solve the problem.
Did anyone has noticed something of similar?
Sorry for my poor English.

Hello, I think I have solved the problem by upgrading to OS X 10.5.7 (Leopard).
After having completed the update process (including additional on-line updates), Keynote seems to run smoothly.

  • Call to Table.SetDataSource() causes FileLoadException in Windows service

    I'm porting code toVS2010/Crystal Reports VS2010 that has worked flawlessly 24/7 for the past 2 years.  Original code used VS2008/CR VS2008.
    I generate reports from a background Windows service using Crystal Reports.  I have a set of report generation CR components that work in a variety of contexts - WinForms apps, console apps and the Windows service.
    When I ported to VS 2010, all of my apps worked fine, except for the Windows service.  In the service, the first call to Table.SetDataSource() causes the service to crash.  I've used detailed logging in the service to pinpoint the source of the error.  I log before and after the call to SetDataSource(), but only the before message is logged.
    VS2010 version - 10/0/30318.1 RTMRel

    I see the following in the 'Application' event log after this happens:

    I'm catching all exceptions in my report generator component, but, for some reason, this exception isn't caught.  I think it's because it's occurring in the CLR and the CLR is aborting the process.
    I've been monitoring the service in ProcMon. I see a final set of  references to the CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataSetConversion assembly that succeed, 3 attempts to access the assemby's PDB file that fail, and then DW20.EXE (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DW\DW20.EXE) is loaded to process process the error.  (Could the missing PDB file be the problem?)
    The ProcMon trace looks entirely different when I run the report gen components from the WinForms and console apps.
    I don't think this is a permissions issue.  I've been able to log in as the user that the service logs in as and have been able to run both WinForms and console versions of the report generator without problems.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I absolutely have to convert this app!

    Sorry about that,
    They changed the info... Do this:
    In the mean time here's how to work around it and get logging working:
    Create a Registry file with this in it and save it: ( Replace the double quote with an open square bracket )
    W i n d o w s R e g i s t r y E d i t o r V e r s i o n 5 . 0 0
    " H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ S O F T W A R E \ S A P B u s i n e s s O b j e c t s \ S u i t e X I 4 . 0 ]
    " H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ S O F T W A R E \ S A P B u s i n e s s O b j e c t s \ S u i t e X I 4 . 0 \ C r y s t a l R e p o r t s ]
    " C o m m o n F i l e s " = " C : \ \ P r o g r a m F i l e s \ \ S A P B u s i n e s s O b j e c t s \ \ C r y s t a l R e p o r t s f o r . N E T F r a m e w o r k 4 . 0 \ \ C o m m o n \ \ "
    And then:
    1. Copy the crlogger.dll from the CR win32_x86 directory to a folder which its path length is short than 130 characters.
    2. Add the following registry key to registry:
    "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Suite XI 4.0\Crystal Reports]
    3. Add a string value u201CCommonFilesu201D under the above added registry key with the value as the pathu2019s fullname which folder we drop the crlogger.dll in step #1 (requires to include the ending backslash character u201C\u201D in the path name).
    For example, copy the crlogger.dll form the default CR win32_x86u2019s folder:
    C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\
    into:
    C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\
    Then import the .reg file you created from above.
    Thanks again

  • RH8 causing other apps to crash?

    Hello -
    I have a colleague (working in another office, so I can't really see this problem first hand) who is trying to install RH8 on a Win7/32 machine (new install, not an upgrade). A member of her IT dept is performing the install.
    After the installation of the app and patches is finished, RH seems to work more or less normally (she's new to RH, so her sense of "normal" is rather limited at this stage).  The problem is that other applications lock up and crash (she mentioned MS Office apps in particular, but that could be because those are the ones she tends to use the most).
    After un-installing RH, the other apps no longer crash.
    I've recommended re-installing but skipping the "RoboHelp for Word" piece, but I can't think of anything else.
    I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen a similar situation? I've found other threads that deal with RH crashing or the RH install failing, but I couldn't find any in which RH caused other apps to crash.
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hmm...I posted a reply via email, but it isn't showing up, so I'm pasting it in.
    Hi, Rick -
    Thanks for the suggestions. Like some of the other threads I've found, these seem to deal mainly with RH crashes rather than other apps. But your first link possibly has some overlap as the menu issue it describes also pops up in a thread I found:
    "RoboHelp 8 crashes on Windows 7"
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2955493#2955493
    This thread includes a scenario in which Outlook and other apps are failing. Additionally, some users were having RH crashes related to the menu bug. Some users found relief by uninstalling source control, others did not. Finally, An Adobe employee posted a fix that corrects issues related to Oleacc.dll which helped some users.
    To be thorough, I'll mention that the problems are occurring on a laptop (another thread traced RH crashes to a BioMetric service running on their laptop). And my colleague has the FoxIt PDF utility installed (I don't think this should be the issue here, but perhaps worth a mention.)
    I'm going to suggest that they try:
    1a. Check the registry to ensure traces of the previous RH install are gone.
    1b. Reinstall but omit source control and RH for Word (I think you can skip these during install?  I'm no longer allowed to to perform my own installs, so I'm less familiar with the process than I once was.)
    2. Ensure patches are installed (version should be 8.02.208)
    3. If that doesn't work, try the Oleacc.dll fix.
    4. If that doesn't work, try another Win7/32 machine (preferably non-laptop).
    5. If all is well on the other machine, I guess it is time to start looking at which non-essential services might be causing a conflict.
    Regards,
    Dave

  • Help needed with identifying cause of Google Chrome crashes from a crash report

    Hello,
    I am trying to isolate a problem which is causing Google Chrome to crash. This is happening far too frequently - sometimes on opening, sometimes on web page loads and sometimes when viewing the preferences page.
    I'm using a 2012 Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.4.
    After many hours of trawling around the Internet and trying various suggestions, I am close to admitting defeat. Hopefully somebody here can save my sanity and point me towards a possible cause.
    To date, these are some of the things that I have tried:
    Replacing the 16GB of Crucial Ram with the stock Ram.
    Logging in as a Guest user and opening Chrome.
    Disabling all Chrome extensions (there are only 3 that I use anyway).
    Uninstalling Chrome and all associated files that I could find, then reinstalling.
    Booting into Safe Mode and loading Chrome.
    None of these have made a difference. There have also been a couple of times when Firefox has crashed, too. Safari has been rock solid. Yes, I could just use Safari, but there are personal reasons why I need to use Chrome. I also need to locate this problem in case it is something that might effect other applications … or possibly even be a hardware problem.
    Below is my most recent crash report. Frankly, it's contents are way outside of my comfort zone, so I am hoping that somebody will be able to help point me towards the relevant parts that might help me resolve this problem:

    when i try to add my windows 7 pc to i tunes match, it causes i tunes to crash.  I know someone else has had this problem, please tell me how to fix it. I do have the latest version of i tunes software too.

    You can authorise your account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of the iTunes screen - if you have iTunes11 then control-B should get the menus to show.

    I have a keynote presentation that includes a significant amount of video.  When I edit the keynote slides (not the video slides) how can I save the changes without re-saving the videos (because that takes a VERY long time)?  I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.

    If you add a new  slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data),  to an existing presentation then save,  Keynote will only save the new content to the file,  it wont save  pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
    The time  taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again.

  • My iPod is Causing my PC to crash when I plug the iPod Touch in.

    I've plugged my iPod Touch into my laptop (USB) port and it immediately caused my laptop to crash.
    I allowed the PC to reboot and tried again in a different port with the same results.
    Any suggestions as what may be the problem.
    Never had a hint before that this might happen.
    The iPod is only 2 months old.
    Thanks.

    Thanks again for your interest in my problem AndrewT.
    Ok you mentioned three things:
    1. Uninstalling the ACER camera.
    2. latest version of iTunes and
    3. Printer.
    Regarding the uninstalling the camera - I haven't done that but worth a try. When I initially plug the iPod in it comes up as a camera (not as an iPod as it should do). I don't use the camera a lot so maybe thats the way to try and see what happens.
    Regarding the latest version of iTunes - yes I've got that no problem and regarding the printer - seldom used and hasn't been used since well before this problem came about.
    I'm getting more convinced that its a Microsoft Update that's causing it. I read somewhere about this but can't remember where now.
    I had to again reload all the software because of other problems i.e. back to original recovery, so while loading the new software I tried the iPod touch and yes it worked. However, with all reloading of sofware there was the usual updating and after loading a number of these updates together I tried again and as expected the blue screen again.
    Needless to say I'm rather frustrated at this outcome but won't give up as yet.
    Thanks for your continued interest. Maybe between us we'll get it solved. It doesn't appear that others have this problem and Apple Support have never heard of it.

  • What is causing my Mac to crash during the sleep mode?

    Hello!
    I would to have your help on this situation that i am having for a month or so...  Ok... it started about a month ago, I turned it on and all of the sudden, it shut down, then rebooted on its own... (actually it rebooted like 3 or 4 times before running the system) I thought that it was odd.  I had my Tech to look over and see what was causing to crash and all... he could not find anything then we all decided to leave it running all time... so we did.  a week or two later, it just crashed when i woke the sleep mode and it went on the usual route as crashed and rebooted two or three times before going back to normal.
    sound familiar to you guys?  after that happened, we turned off the sleep mode and so far, it is doing good...  decided not to update the system's Security software because it may have something to cause the mac to crash down...
    the mac is  2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8 Gb 667 MHZ DDR2 FB-DIMM, running on 10.6.8
    appreciate your help on this.

    One more thing....  it makes weird sounds as well... very high pitch sounds that you hear in movies where UFO flying by while it is doing the rebooting...

  • Record level lock on SAP ABAP table editing

    Hello All,
    I have a requirement wherein I need to give users ability to be able to update contents of a table. Currently, there are using maintenance view on the table for adding/editing contents of this table. However, this prevents other users from being able to enter the table and edit contents of other records within the table.
    Can anybody please guide me how do I go about giving record level edit lock on the table instead of entire table edit lock.
    Appreciate all responses.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Samta.

    Ok
    I  have had a request like yours, i.e the users could manage the same table in the same time.
    The standard behavior avoids it, because a lock of entire table is set.
    This was my solution:
    A) I've created a maintenance view for my table, and I set the attibute S (for subset) for all fields will be the key I want to lock.
    B) I've generated the maintenance table program for the view above.
    In this way if it try to manage the view by SM30, it'll be possible only to indicate the  values of the fields for the subset, so not all data of the table will be loaded, but only the records satisfying  the key.
    C) I've created a program to run SM30 for my view, using the fm VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL:
    .CALL FUNCTION 'VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL'
           EXPORTING
                action      = 'S'  "Display mode
                view_name   = <table name>
           TABLES
                dba_sellist = tb_sellist
           EXCEPTIONS
                OTHERS      = 14.
    As you can see above, the SM30 is always called for DISPLAY only, in this way no standard lock is set
    D) I've use the event 19 in order to change the mode and set my lock:
    DATA: BEGIN OF MY_LOCK,
              MANDT       TYPE ZPPTA019-MANDT,
              WERKS       TYPE ZPPTA019-WERKS,
              /TRILOG/SE  TYPE ZPPTA019-/TRILOG/SE,
              COD_MOD_TAG TYPE ZPPTA019-COD_MOD_TAG,
            END OF MY_LOCK.
      DATA: W_SEL_LIST TYPE VIMSELLIST.
      DATA: VARKEY TYPE RSTABLE-VARKEY.
      FIELD-SYMBOLS: <MY_KEY> TYPE ANY.
      LOOP AT DBA_SELLIST INTO W_SEL_LIST
        WHERE VIEWFIELD = 'WERKS'
          OR  VIEWFIELD = '/TRILOG/SE'
          OR  VIEWFIELD = 'COD_MOD_TAG'.
        ASSIGN COMPONENT W_SEL_LIST-VIEWFIELD
           OF STRUCTURE MY_LOCK TO <MY_KEY>.
        IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
          MOVE W_SEL_LIST-VALUE TO <MY_KEY>.
        ENDIF.
      ENDLOOP.
      IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
        IF NOT MY_LOCK IS INITIAL.
          MY_LOCK-MANDT = SY-MANDT.
          VARKEY = MY_LOCK.
          CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_E_TABLEE'
            EXPORTING
              MODE_RSTABLE   = 'E'
              TABNAME        = 'ZPPTA019'
              VARKEY         = VARKEY
            EXCEPTIONS
              FOREIGN_LOCK   = 1
              SYSTEM_FAILURE = 2
              OTHERS         = 3.
          IF SY-SUBRC <> 0.
            MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE 'S' NUMBER SY-MSGNO
                    WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
          ELSE.
            MAINT_MODE = VIEW_ACTION = 'U'.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.
      ENDIF.
      CLEAR OLD_019.
    I hope it can help you

    I have reinstalled everything wiped the disks and now the drive wont format
    I have read that it could be a SATA problem but in the BIOS the ability to change the settings are not accessible.
    My warranty ran out days before this failed so I cant get it done on it.
    Before it went I used to be able to use it for a while and then something would trigger the blue screen, sometimes the laptop doesnt even see its there.
    Can anyone throw any light on the problem?

    How do you know the 2nd HDD is causing the crash?
    If you remove the HDD, does it still crash?
    Have you tried repairing the file systems on the 2nd HDD?
    In a command prompt, run CHKDSK x: /F (where x; is the drive letter, such as D: )
    Also test the HDD for bad sectors. DFT is a bootable CD with a HDD test. Boot from the CD and run the Advanced test
