Table export from higher version

Hi,
I have two database servers one on Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 -- 64bit and the other one in Oracle 9.2.0.4.0
I have a table in 10.2... and I want it to be exported to 9.2.... I know that exports from higher version could not be imported with lower version. How can I do this?
I have not yet tried to import with 9.2 so I don't have any error messages.
Thanks,

Well, you already got answers for this one. Just adding the relevant topic from the Utilities manual.

  • Export from higher APEX version to lower version

    Hello,
Is there anyway to export an application from APEX version 3.0? Oracle 11G to version 2.2? Oracle 10G? Any help greatly appreciated.
    Sharon

    Bharat,
When 3.1 is released, say early 2008, you can make your decision based on the information in the Release Notes and related collateral which should provide a useful synopsis of new features.
The database version you select is an independent decision.

  • Importing dump taken from higher version to lower version

    Hi all,
I have already taken dump from oracle 9.0.2 database without using exp utility of lower verion and alo without running catexp.sql script prior to export.
Now i need to import this dump into 9.0.1 database. It gives error due to backward-incompability.
Is there any way to import without re-exporting whole database again using exp utility of lower version against higher version.

It is an unsupported scenario. I had to face it once with the same 920->901 versions. What I did was also absolutely unsupported at my own risk and it was a last chance action. I'll tell you what I did and how it worked for me, which doesn't mean it will work for any situation. If you open your file with a binary file editor you will see at the first file blocks a header that displays the export version "EXPORT:V09.02.00" This header is read by the import to check which version was used to generate the file and prevent an unsupported downgrade, I changed it to EXPORT:V09.00.01 and retried the import. A lot of error messages appeared, but it successfully loaded my information. I took the risk because I made sure this specific database contained just basic tables, indexes and version compatible objects and definitions, it was a testing environment, I didn't have the right Oracle version and there was no time to get it, and finally I had a bullet proof backup.

  • Transporting a model in VC from higher version to lower version

    Hi All,
How can i transport a model built in higher version to lower version.(EHP1 to 700.14 of Portal)
Also, will all my fuctionality work there if it is transported?
I have imported a model built on higher version of Sandbox to lower version of Dev server by changing its version manually by opening the model in notepad. But after deployment i am not able to see any of the functionality working.Such as-I am not able to submit the data enetred in the data fields.
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards

Adding some points to the above question.
Also,I cannot clear entries from the data fileds, as there is not System Action defined for clear in version 700.14.
Please suggest, what changes shall i make.

  • Unsuccessful export from trial version of CS6 InDesign to EPUB

I'm  hoping it's because I have a trial version of InDesign. When I export from InDesign to EPUB 2.0.1
I'm following instructions from this video, but all I get is an empty file. No error message, just the blank file.
I'm trying to test how anchors work for layout in an ebook.
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-suite-podcast-designers/how-to-maintain-formatting-when -exporting-your-epub-from-indesign-cs6/
Is it because it is the trial version? I'm hoping so, but if not, any thoughts on what am I missing?
    Thanks in advance,
    Joan

You need to learn more about creating EPUB files. You also need a real EPUB reader.
You can download Adobe Digital Editions for free:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/digital-editions.edu.html?promoid=DTEIO
It reads EPUB files. iBooks is OK but there are reasons it may reject a file which is a perfectly valid EPUB file.
I'd suggest Liz Castro's EPUBs about creating EPUBs in InDesign:

We are using a 8.0.5 database with database size under 1G, and we would like to test the database in Oracle Express 10g; however, during the export and import process, many errors encountered. Is there any formal procedures to follow, so that the process can be smoothen?

you can use VERSION parameter in datapump and make this workable.
    Cheers,
lkmYou cannot, since 9.x does not use datapump. The VERSION parameter can only be used if the target is 10.x or above

  • Any way to stop facebook exporter from using version names as the caption

I tried the Aperture 3 facebook export and it is using the version names as the caption. If I change the caption on facebook it then changes the version name in my aperture library when it syncs with facebook. Is there anyway to have it use the caption meta data field instead? You would think if they had that option for mobile me they would have it for FB too.

Add me to the list of people interested by this issue - but AFAIK there is no way to change this. Let's hope Apple fixes this soon.

  • Export from one version and import into another version

We have a customer database that accidently got updated to 10.2.x but our application only supports 10.1.5 What we are wondering can we export the 10.2 database and import it into a new system that is at our supported version of 10.1.0.5?
Will the import even work or will it fail with unsupported version? Any other things we should be aware of?

  • Data Pump : Table export from 9i to 10g

We are creating dump file for some tables with clob columns. These tables are in Oracle 9i and have to be moved to 10g. Our DBA's are suggesting that we cannot import those dump files directly in 10g database, otherwise there can be NLS and text issues, it has to be imported to 9i first and then upgraded to 10g. Is this correct assessment?
    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to the forums !
Pl post full versions of OS, along with exact versions of "9i" and "10g".

  • I can not export android apps in anything but AIR 3.2, How do I publish with a higher version of AIR?

Hello, I recently made an application, and everything works fine. The main issue is the app does not work on newer phones it seems. I have been trying to understand why this is. I believe it is from me only being able to export for AIR 3.2, I have seen from tutorials that others export in higher versions, how can I do this so my app can work on my own phone??

download a newer air sdk, http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/air-sdk-download.html
    extract
in flash pro click help>manage air sdk, click the add button and navigate to the folder where you extracted the air sdk.

  • Export from r2 to 3.0

    Hi
I m working with the BOXI 3.0 in the dev environment byt My PROD environement is BOXI r2. I have a problem when trying to transfer to the prod.
    any best practise
    thanks so much

    Hi Fathima,
Mostly in all software not only Business Objects
from higher versions to lower version compatability is not possible but from lower version to higher version is possible ..Better you have same versions of Business Objects in Dev and Production or having XI 3.0 in Prodction and XI R2 in DEV would be a good idea.

  • Datpump Export,Import across lower and higher versions

    Versions involved : 10.2.0.4, 11.2.0.3
    Operating System  : AIX 6.1
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Lets say I export a schema in a 11.2 Database using 11.2 expdp .
Can I import the above dump (11.2) to a 10.2 Database using 10.2 impdp ?

Setting VERSION=10.2 worked fine for me.
Since I was curious, I tested taking a table level export dump from 11.2.0.3 Schema using 11.2.0.3 expdp without VERSION parameter. I succesfully managed to import those tables to a 10.2.0.2 schema needless to say using 10.2.0.2 impdp.
I don't know how this worked . Maybe export, importing from higher to lower version at schema level might fail. Need to test it when I have time.
This is contrary to Oracle documentation (11.2 DB Utilities guide)
Data Pump Import cannot read dump file sets created by a database release that is
newer than the current database release, unless those dump file sets were created
with the VERSION parameter set to the release of the target database. Therefore,
the best way to perform a downgrade is to perform your Data Pump export with
the VERSION parameter set to the release of the target database
But, anyway I am glad that Oracle's superior coding has enabled me to export, import from higher to lower version.
