Table shifting to right in Safari

Greetings,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not. Kind
of a newbie here so forgive my ignorance. I appreciate any help or
guidance.
I am working on a site in Dreamweaver CS4 and it is looking
close to what I want in Firefox and IE but when I try to view it in
Safari the entire table under the header shifts way to the right.
It is completely off the screen? I am guessing there is some script
or somewhere I messed up the CSS or html.
Here is a link
http://www.oceanside-condo.com/new/home.html
Do you want me to attach the entire code?
Thank you for any help or advice with this, I really
appreciate it!

OK, I took a closer look. There is a way to horse the code to
get
closer, but it will be a continuous battle with that code.
Sorry I
didn't catch that sooner.
It looks as if the html was created by an image editing
program like
Photoshop or FireWorks. If so, you really should not use HTML
created
by graphics software for anything other than prototyping.
Tables with all those rowspans and colspans are very fragile.
Watch
what happens to your page if you enlarge the text size in a
browser.
Rather than fight with such code, I recommend creating the
page anew,
using DW to write the HTML and using just the images exported
from the
graphics program. I refer you to a couple of links posted in
here
nearly every day to help with this situation:

  • Last line of table shifts to right slightly after export to PDF

    Indesign CS4 (6.0.4.578), Windows XP. Last line of some tables shifts very slightly to the right, but only in exported PDFs. See screencap from PDF below. It's not very pronounced, but Xs don't quite line up, and client can see it.
    When I printed to PDF through Acrobat 9 the problem goes away. But I would prefer to export.
    For a one-page sample file formatted in Minion Pro (it happens in differing degrees with any typeface), download
    http://www.pegtype.com/shifttorighttest.zip.
    Any ideas why this is happening?
    Ken Benson

    It's not showing in the ID file, just in the exported PDF (and not in the printed PDF). And it shows in the PDF you made too, you just have to look at a higher magnification.
    This is from the PDF you made and emailed to me. See how the bottom X is a little further to the right? Compare foot to foot, not head to foot. Minion X is narrower at the top.
    Acrobat is at 9.3.1. I let the Adobe applications update themselves, so everything should be at the latest point release. No custom dictionary or kerning, though if there was, I would expect the ID file to show the same thing as the PDF.

  • Please help -  table shift down on FF & Safari

    Please help with my tables. Im using GL CS2 8.0.1
    Objective: Would like my tables (e-commerce site) roughly 5px apart from one another.
    Problem: On Firefox & Safari (MAC) there is a huge space between the cards in the browser. What is wrong with my code?
    Link to test page: www.larchmontblvd.com/test.html
    Thanks
    Jesse

    Maybe I need to be more specific...
    If you look at the page, I've labeled my product cards "Title Card 1" & "Title Card 2". The problem is the spacing between Card 1 and Card 2 is different on Firefox and Safari. My goal is to have a 5 px space between the two cards.
    Thanks,

  • Tables shift when Fireworks HTML is opened in DW

    When I generate HTML in Fireworks, open it in Dreamweaver,
    save it and view it in IE. The tables shift to the right and it
    adds thickness to the border. Why do you think this happens?

    Because you are using HTML written by a graphics editor? Yes,
    I'm sure of
    it.
    Can you post a link to the page, please?

  • Using cmd-shift-left/right arrows in Terminal

    Hi,
    Is there a way to revert to Leopard's shortcuts for switching tabs in Terminal?
    I'm working on a daily basis with both Leopard and Snow Leopard and the fact that I have to use cmd-shift-left/right in the former (which is coherent with Safari) and cmd-left/right in the latter (which is coherent with I wonder what?) is extremely annoying.
    I tried using System Preferences Keyboard pane to assign the shortcut to no avail, but it doesn't seem to work at all.
    BTW, I really don't understand why Apple changed this shortcut. As with any application, changing shortcuts is not really considerate for end users ;P
    TIA

    I don't know why you have command+left or right arrow for tab switching. i have command+shift +left or right arrow. running 10.6.2 here. also, the other shortcuts for this that show up in the window menu are command+} and command+{. those can be also be changed in keyboard system preferences. that should have worked for you. i can do it without problems. but I suggest you reset your terminal preference file. that should restore teh default shortcuts. quit terminal and delete the file ~/library/preferences/com.apple.terminal.plist. start terminal and the shortcuts should be commandshiftarrows.

  • How can I turn off Recently Websites when opening new Safari window? After tapping on the two overlapping boxes on the bottom right of Safari, a new blank window appears with Favorites, but now in iOS 8, recently viewed websites are listed.

    How can I turn off Recently Visited Websites when opening new Safari window?
    After tapping on the two overlapping boxes on the bottom right of Safari, a new blank window appears with Favorites, but now in iOS 8, recently viewed websites are listed. How can I turn this function off? I do NOT want my new Safari windows to have history displayed of previous websites I visited. I only want my Favorites (on the top) to be displayed. Please help.
    Thank you for your time, patience, understanding, kindness, and concern.

    Thanks for replying, but that isn't the answer I am looking for.  Also, there is no + sign, UNLESS you do tap the overlapping boxes.
    Let me try to ask my question a little more clearly:
    When I tap the two overlapping boxes on the lower left (the option to Open New Windows), the new Window that appears will show your Bookmarked FAVORITES. But with my new iPhone 6, and the new iOS 8.0.2, when I tap the two boxes to open a New Window, my Bookmark Favorites show (as they always have and should), but below them, there is a dividing line underneath them, and it says Recently Viewed Websites, and has these websites available to tap.
    So my question is, HOW DO I TURN THESE OPTION OFF?
    *UPDATE  (10.13.14): Since I have asked this question, I no longer see these Recently Viewed Websites under my Bookmarked Favorites in my new Window tabs. So I hope that Apple fixed it, or somehow it was a mistake, or somehow I changed an Option on my iPhone 6 that stopped this for reoccurring.
    Thank you for your help bobseufert! I appreciate your concern, kindness, and the time to try to help. I am grateful.
    Have a blessed day.

  • 'SHIFT variable RIGHT deleting trailing space' not working

    I have a character field in a transaction that occasionally gets populated with a value that has a space at the end or at the beginning or both. This is causing the dataload to fail. I added code below to remove these spaces from the end and beginning-
    SHIFT <variable> RIGHT deleting TRAILING space.
    SHIFT <variable> LEFT deleting LEADING space.
    The SHIFT LEFT works perfectly and deletes the space at the begining of the value but SHIFT RIGHT does not delete the space at the end for some reason. I tried defining the variable as a char (16), string but nothing seems to make it work.
    Note: I cannot use CONDENSE because the value can have spaces in between that we cannot delete.
    Any ideas why shift right wouldn't work?

    Hi Maanasa,
                           First of all Shift works only with string datatype. So transfer the contents of that character field into a string datatype and do the shift operation.
    Declare a string variable of that type. Data v_str type string.
    Pass the contents of the character field into the string.
    And do the shift operation on the string and pass the value of the string back to the character field.
    Shift v_str by 1 places right.
    Please try this.
    Thanking you,
    Jerry

  • LabView 8 Express Table delete the Right-of-comma positions in the fist row

    Hi,
    how can I delete the zero in the first row of an express table or delete the Right-of-comma positions?
    Kann ich in einer ExpressTabelle in der ersten Spalte (Zeit) die Nachkommastellen (Nullen) löschen?
    Thank you
    Cedric

    The zero value in the first row must be part of your data.  If so, you will need to remove it before putting the data into the table.
    The right-of-comma positions I assume to be the fractional part of the number (comma as decimal separater, right?).  If so, you need to set the precision to 0 and it will make the resulting display integer only.
    Hope that this helps,

  • How to remove sites when right-clicking Safari in the Dock?

    Right clicking Safari in the Dock shows 3 sites visited awhile ago. There is a diamond shape before each. And each is repeated several times, 16 for one. I've cleared History, closed Safari, removed it from the Dock, restarted Safari. they're still there. Opening them and deleting just increases the amount.
    I'm stymied.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I've resolved the issue myself.
    First, let me clarify, each of these "sites" had several tabs.
    Here's what worked: by Option-clicking on one closes all other tabs. Of course this can be done manually, closing each tab separately.
    Once all but one tab is showing click the "close", red circle, button and the site deletes from the Safari list in the Dock.
    Not sure why this anomaly happened but I know how to fix it if it should happen again.

  • I do not have the pages icon on the bottom right of Safari ios 7. When I press the plus sign at the top right I see 'private' on the bottom left side but there are no buttons on the bottom right at all. I am trying to get Safari to have the tab Rolodex

    I am super frustrated with Safari in ios 7.   I do not have the pages icon on the bottom right of Safari ios 7. When I press the plus sign at the top right I see 'private' on the bottom left side but there are no buttons on the bottom right at all. I am trying to get Safari to have the tab Rolodex look of the tabbed windows. So I can see the pages. Hope this is making sense.  Why am I not seeing the pages button on the bottom right of Safari?
    Thanks!

    Bummer!  Hopefully this will change in the future.  At least I know now that I am not crazy for not seeing the pages icon!  Thanks so much :)

  • Landscape Screen shifted to right in 20px

    Hi guys.
    I am trying to rotate the screen on the iphone. For example,
    First state of screen : is "Portrait".
    Then it calls "Landscape" screen. Following code is used for making Landscape screen :
    - (void)viewDidLoad {
    [super viewDidLoad];
    [UIApplication sharedApplication].statusBarOrientation = UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight;
    CGFloat angle = 90 * M_PI / 180;
    self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(angle);
    self.view.center = [nRangeAppDelegate sharedAppDelegate].window.center;
    UILabel *label = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 20, 480, 44)];
    label.textAlignment = UITextAlignmentLeft;
    label.numberOfLines = 2;
    label.text = @"12345
    67890";
    [self.view addSubview:label];
    But above code shifted to right in 20 px.
    How to make 480x320 view at point 0,0 no shifting ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Raiden -
    If you were doing your own view switching, it looks like you'd just need to adjust the center of rotation:
    - (void)viewDidLoad {
    [super viewDidLoad];
    [UIApplication sharedApplication].statusBarOrientation = UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight;
    CGFloat angle = 90 * M_PI / 180;
    self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(angle);
    self.view.center = CGPointMake(150.0, 240.0); // <-- change 160 to 150
    But if you're using a nav controller and wish to push a landscape view on top of a portrait view things get much more complicated. In fact I don't think UINavigationController is designed to support this kind of push, since the normal nav animation doesn't seem suited to it. After playing with your requirements for awhile, here's some code that seems to do what you want. The test bed was started from the Navigation-Based App template. This example doesn't attempt to animate the transitions:
    // RootViewController.m
    #import "RootViewController.h"
    #import "MyRotatedController.h"
    @implementation RootViewController
    - (void)viewDidLoad {
    [super viewDidLoad];
    self.title = @"Root View";
    self.navigationController.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor cyanColor];
    self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor magentaColor];
    - (void)viewDidAppear:(BOOL)animated {
    [super viewDidAppear:animated];
    NSLog(@"* RootViewController: viewDidAppear");
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.view.frame=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.view.frame));
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.view.bounds=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.view.bounds));
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame));
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.navigationBar.bounds=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.navigationBar.bounds));
    NSLog(@"self.view.frame=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.view.frame));
    NSLog(@"self.view.bounds=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.view.bounds));
    - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
    NSLog(@"* RootViewController: tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath");.
    MyRotatedController *myRotatedController = [[MyRotatedController alloc]
    initWithNibName:@"MyRotatedController" bundle:nil];
    UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath];
    myRotatedController.title = cell.textLabel.text;
    [self.navigationController pushViewController:myRotatedController animated:NO];
    [myRotatedController release];
    // MyRotatedController.m
    #import "MyRotatedController.h"
    @implementation MyRotatedController
    - (void)popView {
    NSLog(@"* MyRotatedController: popView");
    UINavigationController *navController = self.navigationController;
    [navController popViewControllerAnimated:NO];
    [UIApplication sharedApplication].statusBarOrientation = UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait;
    navController.view.transform = CGAffineTransformIdentity;
    navController.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 20, 320, 460);
    navController.view.bounds = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 460);
    - (void)viewDidLoad {
    [super viewDidLoad];
    NSLog(@"* MyRotatedController: viewDidLoad");
    self.view.backgroundColor = [UIColor blueColor];
    [UIApplication sharedApplication].statusBarOrientation = UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight;
    self.navigationController.view.center = CGPointMake(150.0, 240.0);
    CGFloat angle = 90 * M_PI / 180;
    self.navigationController.view.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(angle);
    self.navigationController.view.bounds = CGRectMake(0, 0, 480, 300);
    CGRect barFrame = self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame;
    barFrame.origin = CGPointMake(0, 0);
    self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame = barFrame; // <-- !!Kludge Alert!!
    self.view.bounds = CGRectMake(0, 0, 480, 256);
    UIBarButtonItem *done = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc]
    initWithBarButtonSystemItem:UIBarButtonSystemItemDone
    target:self action:@selector(popView)];
    self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = done;
    [done release];
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.view.frame=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.view.frame));
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.view.bounds=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.view.bounds));
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.navigationBar.frame));
    NSLog(@"self.navigationController.navigationBar.bounds=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.navigationController.navigationBar.bounds));
    NSLog(@"self.view.frame=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.view.frame));
    NSLog(@"self.view.bounds=%@", NSStringFromCGRect(self.view.bounds));
    - (void)dealloc {
    NSLog(@"MyRotatedController: dealloc");
    [super dealloc];
    As commented, the problem with this example is that I couldn't get the landscape nav bar positioned correctly without sending setFrame to the bar. The nav controller doc says the bar frame should never be modified directly. With more work, I assume we could find a way to get the bar position right without this kludge, but atm it's the best I can do.
    Hope that helps!

  • Making Container have a rounded top left cormer shifts Table inside to right. How to solve this? I have ID CC 2014 (64bit) for PC

    Left image shows Shift to Table. Right image shows what I want.

    Tables are text, as far as ID is concerned, and they have a square corner, so they have to shift. You'll have to create a new round-corner frame with stroke, then Paste Into that frame the text frame that holds your table.

  • Shifting a table to the right side of the window.

    Hi,
    I created a table in webdynpro. Its coming in left hand side by default. I want to shift it to the right hand side.
    Can anyone help.

    Hi,
    Try this:
    Set the layout of the container as Grid Layout.Check the stretchedHorizontally layout property of the container. Now go to the LayoutData of the table and set the hAlign property as endOfLine.
    I hope it helps.

  • Template tables shifting when editing editible regions

    Hi there everyone,
    Have made a template. When making ne pages from the template, and then editing the editible regions, the tables are shifing and not going back to original place, even when I click here and there to see if they will go back. Sometimes the tables do go back to the original place, and other times they do not.
    Have made sure when making editable regions that the td, and other table code is not included in the editible regions.
    What I am asking, is when you make a template, if the table code is not included in the editable regions, should the tables be shifting around?
    What do you think?
    Any solutions?

                  <p>They are helpful for designing prevention from problems and suffering. These programs are for those who believe &ldquo;As you sow, so do you reap.&rdquo; Maharishi Jyotish and Maharishi Yagya programs are for those who believe problems and suffering are the results of one&rsquo;s own wrong actions in the past, and who would like to take recourse to its policies and programs.</p>
                  <p>The knowledge of Maharishi Jyotish and Maharishi Yagya programs is that supreme knowledge that locates the whole panorama of life through one single point of a wide-angle lens&mdash;the time and place of birth of the individual is sufficient for a detailed calculation of the spread of the events of his whole life. And whenever during the lifetime negative influences are observed in the horoscope, calculations are made in advance to prescribe yagyas to generate positive influences to counterbalance the negative influences of the past.</p>
                  <p>All the Maharishi Yagya programs are with reference to Natural Law&mdash;the Will of God. It is very necessary for anyone who is entertaining the Maharishi Yagya programs to align their life to the rules of purity of life, as they understand purity of life.</p>
                  <p>The procedure of prediction and recommendation requires an elaborate preparation and study of the birth chart&mdash;Kundali or horoscope&mdash;of the person and his closely related family members: mother, father, husband or wife, and children. The correct birth time is necessary for accurate predictions and proper selection of yagyas. In case the birth time of a person is not accurate or not available, it is within the scope of expertise of the Maharishi Jyotish program Pandits to locate the proper birth time and prepare a proper Kundali.</p>
                  <p>It is necessary that an exhaustive study of the whole life of the person and his close relatives is performed by a panel of experts of the Maharishi Jyotish program. On the basis of this total study of all possible influences on the individual, a Comprehensive Life Kundali is produced, which will be an all-time standard reference for predictions and necessary Maharishi Yagya procedures as well as other Maharishi Jyotish services.</p>
                  <p>Teams of experts in Maharishi Jyotish consultation have been organized for each continent. They are available for consultations and they are experts at making Comprehensive Life Kundalis and prescribing appropriate Maharishi Yagya performances and Graha Shanti for individuals, families, and companies.</p>
                  <p>Everyone is advised to take advantage of this beautiful knowledge and enjoy a problem-free life.<br />
