Table styles in RH don't transfer to Word 2010

In RH, I have defined a table style called top-row-shaded, and have mapped this style for delivery to Word, in word-template.dot file. All RH tables of style top-row-shaded shoud map to my Word template style top-row-shaded, but they don't.
Does anyone kmow a fix?
If not, does anyone have a word macro that can convert my tables to the  top-row-shaded style in the Word file?
My RH file has another table style (called no-border) that I don't want to convert, so I can't simply apply the style to all tables in the Word file.
Thanks, Joanne

Without setting up a test, I'm not sure why the tables are not mapping. By all means see the Contact page on my site and send me a one topic project and the Word template. I will take a look but it will be at least a week or so before I can.
Meantime there is a macro on my site that will need editing that will find each table and then allow you to apply changes or skip to the next table.

  • Word 2010 with Embedded Excel table becomes oversized for RDP users

    I originally asked this question on the SharePoint Online forums as this was the first time we've seen this issue. Original Post
    Summarized: we have a Word template with embedded Excel table created in SharePoint Online, and when a RDP user opens it, the document correctly opens in the local version of Word 2010 (not Word Online).   When the table is edited, it becomes
    larger to the point you can no longer view the entire table.
    We have done some testing with Word 2010 outside of RDP and everything works correctly, the embedded Excel table doesn't become oversized and works as expected.  It seems to definitely be an issue with RDP and I've been looking for any assistance
    on resolving this issue.  I recently did some further testing and found that the only time the table becomes oversized and not view-able is when you copy and paste information from an existing 2003 Excel document.  I would think this is the issue,
    but it doesn't happen when working with Word and SharePoint outside of an RDP environment.
    The template is a .docx file. All RDP users are in a 2008 R2 environment.

    I did some testing over the weekend and the simple answer to your question - Not always.
    I found 2 variables which seem to cause this to happen:
    1) We have 2 TS servers - one with IE 9, which remains to maintain support for a legacy app which will not work with IE 10 or 11, and one with IE 10.
    2) Screen resolution of the client computer - it seemed that systems with video configurations which could not exceed the maximum of 1280x1024 (the same screen resolution as our TS servers) didn't experience the issue.  There were some laptops
    and higher end systems with widescreen monitors, where this was an issue.  They typically didn't have a 1280x1024 option; yet even if they did they would experience the same issue, just not as pronounced.
    It also seems to only occur when a user copies and pastes information from Excel 2010 into the embedded Excel table in Word 2010.  Again, only within RDP.  On those client computers which had the problem, I could perform the same function outside
    of RDP without any problems.  However, this is not an ideal format for the chefs as they will frequently be moving between different systems during the day.

  • Can this be done with table styles?

    Hello,
    Can someone tell me if this table layout is possible to achieve with table styles? Specifically the first column being slightly darker is proving a problem with the alternating rows, I feel like I need a 'column style' option but there isn't one (in CS5) that I can see. Thanks very much.

    Sans cell styles, this Javascript adds 20% to the tint of cells in the very first column for each table. It does not change header rows (and on 2nd thought, maybe it shouldn't do footer rows either).
    .. Without trying, I couldn't tell what happens with complickated merged cells. The document I'm working on contains 8 tables, but the idiotic author pasted them as figures into Word. All of my scripting prowess can't work around that ...
    tables = app.activeDocument.stories.everyItem().tables.everyItem().getElements();
    for (t=0; t<tables.length; t++)
    processTable (tables[t]);
    function processTable (table)
    var i, cells = table.columns[0].cells;
    for (i=table.headerRowCount; i<cells.length; i++)
      cells[i].fillTint += 20; // percentage to add

  • How to update table styles in the new Pages?

    Anyone found out how to update table styles in the new Pages? I see it's done in some of the templates that Apple provided, but I can't find it. Also, the Copy table style command is gone, so I can't make my tables look in a uniform way, unless I use one of the built-in styles.
    Thanks.

    I'm having the same trouble. Looks like no way to create an overal 'table' style and I cannot access the table paragraph styles either.

  • InDesign CS3 crashing adding table style...HELP!!

    This issue started on Friday.  I just starting working on a large document that will have many tables throughout, so I must use the table styles.  Here is the order in which I do things to get the crash.
    Place document from Word in to InDesign document
    Highlight table to be changed
    Convert text using paragraph styles
    Alter column widths to fit page
    Highlight entire table to select table style
    Click desired table style
    CRASH!!!!
    I have tried the following things with NO LUCK:
    Deleted adobefntX file multiple times (actually worked for a couple of hours first time I did it)
    Deleted InDesign preferences (did nothing)
    Re-created all "Styles" in InDesign (Character, Paragraph, Cell, & Table) (Did nothing)
    Changed the order in which I altered the tables text and formatting (thinking it was just a silly order problem)
    Unistalled and Re-installed CS3 (worked for 5 tables and then CRASH)
    Updated ALL software (Adobe and Mac)
    Started up in Safe mode and CRASH!!!
    I realize from seraching for this problem on the web that I am probably the ONLY person having this issue, but I thought it was a font problem until I started in Safe Mode and still crashed.  I am totally confused as to what I should do next.  I am running on a

    I am not familiar with InDesign Interchange, do you think this will help?
    That's why I suggested it. But you didn't answer my question: Is this happening with only one file? The reason I ask is because if one file is corrupted, saving to INX and back to INDD often clears out minor corruptions. If you're seeing this in many files it's unlikely they're all corrupt.
    1. Convert text using paragraph styles - I meant modified "placed" text using character styles
    Now I'm really confused. Your steps are:
    Place document from Word in to InDesign document
    Highlight table to be changed
    Modify placed text using character styles
    Are you really highlighting an entire table and applying a character style? While this will work to modify certain formatting aspects, it's not really the best approach. Character styles are for characters *within* a paragraph. Paragraph styles are for *entire* paragraphs. Each table cell contains at least one full paragraph, even if it's just a single number, a space, even if there's nothing there at all. If you want to format the contents of an entire cell or range of cells with the same formatting, use a paragraph style, not a character style. If you want to italicize one or two words in some text in a cell (the way I just did), then use a character style.
    I really feel that the issue either stems from fonts or from placing the document from Word.
    Could be. Cheap fonts are the cause of many problems in Indesign. Indesign is really picky about fonts. But let's try the easy fix first (INX). If you don't trust it, save the .inx to a new .indd filename (keep your old .indd file as a backup).

  • How to reuse a table style in Numbers 3.0

    I can save a Numbers Table Style in one spreadsheet, but I've no idea how to open and use the saved style in another spreadsheet.
    When I save the style it shows up in the inspector for that document, but does't appear in the inspector when I open another document.
    Am I attempting something that can't be done?

    Guillame,
    You're right about not being able to add styles, and I have not figured out how to modify a predefined character style, other than to Rename or Delete a predefined style. I have added this to my list of things lost.

  • Find and replace a table style

    I have about 10  table styles in a document and I want to replace all of them with the #1 table style. Can this be done with Find and Replace?

    You'll need to do this for each of the Table formats that need to be replaced.
    Let's assume the desired format is "Format A" (a default FM style), and one of the formats to be changed is "Specs 2".
    Click in any instance of a Specs 2 table.
    In the Table Tag field, pull down and click on [Format A].
    Click Commands > Global Update Options:
    (*) All Properties
    (*) All Tagged [Specs 2]
    [Update]
    If it works properly, you'll get a dialog:
    OK to change all Format B tags to Format A?
    [OK]
    Additional global updates may be required to clean up any overrides.
    Trying this on FM7 at home, it didn't always work. I don't know if newer versions are more stable. Personally, I never do it this way (probably because of prior experience), and I usually just hack the MIF.

  • Table style doesn't display when viewed or when project is published

    I'm running RH8 (with RH8 Server).  The table style no longer displays when viewed or when published.  I checked the table style of the same project (but older version) and the styles to me looked the same.  It displayed fine last week (famous last words), but this week something changed. Can anyone help?
    The tablegradient.jpg can be seen in the project (image A), but when I view (eyeglasses), or if I open a published project, it doesn’t (image B).
    Image A
    Image B

    I really do not know what has caused this but in your situation I would be looking at the CSS for the table now and when it worked.
    After that I would probably create a new project and create the same setup afresh. That can often identify the cause of problems like this.
    Sorry I don't have anything more constructive.

  • Separate table title autonumbering for two named table styles?

    I believe this very same question whizzed by a few weeks ago but I'm having no luck searching for it.
    I have two named table styles.  I want the autonumbering for the table titles to be separate.  More specifically, one will autonumber as "Table t", while the other will autonumber as "Example e".
    I have redefined the autonumbering counter for the second of the two TableTitle para style, and if I apply that style while in that table's title, I get the new autonumbering.  But I can't transmit (a) selectively update the Table Title style to this format to other tables in the chapter.  By extension, I can't copy the  wonderful new table format to other chapters in the book.
    I next tried creating a new para style "ExampleTitle", then in the Table Designer trying Update All.  Nope, other tables of type example do not receive the new title style.
    This is fully-patched FM8.  The document is structured but I don't (want to) care about that -- I simply need to get the two different named table styles
    to autonumber sequentially.
    This is probably pretty easy once I learn the "trick"...(?)
    Cheers & thanks,
    Riley

    Arnis:
    Thanks.  For some reason I couldn't get my table to update, so I went through and manually create a second table title paragraph style, then manually applied that.  (I also created a second x-ref format so that I could x-ref to "Example n:" without including the colon in the x-ref, but that's another story...)
    So for now I've worked around the problem.  After I get this document out I'll revisit the issue.  (Why do I have a vague recollection that there's a known idiosyncracy where FM6+ table styles don't update properly...?)
    Cheers & thanks 'gain,
    Riley

  • 3EA4 -- can not run SqlDeveloper report to "table" style

    The same SqlDeveloper report, which was/is working in 3EA3 - same Oracle user, same privileges, same platform, same connection, same Java version, same same ... can not run the report to the "table" style. It works only with the "Script" style. So, betwen EA3 and EA4 something changed. No work around, just lost capability.
    note: I tried many SqlDeveloper reports that were working in the "table" style - none of them works in the "table" style anymore with EA4 - that really is not cool :(
    Here is one of those reports:
    SELECT
       object_name "Object_Name",
       object_type "Object_Type",
       CASE OBJECT_TYPE
          WHEN 'PACKAGE BODY' THEN 'alter package ' || OWNER||'.'||OBJECT_NAME || ' compile body;'
          WHEN 'SYNONYM'      THEN 'CREATE PROCEDURE ' || OWNER||'.tmp_compile_synonym AS BEGIN EXECUTE immediate ''alter synonym ' || OWNER||'.'||OBJECT_NAME || ' compile''; END tmp_compile_synonym;'||chr (10) || '/'||chr (10) || 'EXECUTE ' || OWNER||'.tmp_compile_synonym;'||chr (10) || 'DROP PROCEDURE ' || OWNER||'.tmp_compile_synonym;'
          ELSE 'alter ' || lower (OBJECT_TYPE) || ' ' || OWNER||'.'||OBJECT_NAME || ' compile;'
       END "Compile_Statement"

    ok, I did update to JDK 1.6_24 , edited the jdk file under .sqldeveloper to point to the correct JDK version and invoked the 3EA4 from the command line:
    raisin:~/sqldeveloper3EA4$ ./sqldeveloper.sh -J-Xmx1024m
    still having the issue. None of the "table" style reports work.
    So, something definitely changed in EA4 that broke the "table" style reports (at least in my case).
    I am using the same "thin" connections that I created before (it picked it up from the .sqldeveloper settins). Did anything change for the thin jdbc connection in EA4 compared to EA3 ? I looked at the change list and don't see it there. I saw bug 09883309 reported here: 3.0 final+EA4: Doesn't work with 11.1 OCI/Thick driver , but don't think it has anything to do with the problem I am seeing - I don't use OCI, but jdbc thin. I wonder if there is a problem with 11.2.0.2 jdbc thin in EA4 and my database server version (10gR2 base version on RHEL 4).
    But if Jim doesn't have the problem with the same JDK version and "almost" the same platform - maybe the database server version is an issue ? All I know, these reports (table style) was/is working with the EA3 - but not in EA4 .
    When I run the report - the execution window does not display anything - all grey - then if I click on the green arrow (go/run) button, I see the following exceptions in the terminal from which I invoked the sqldeveloper:

  • Table Styles Override

    Hi,
    I'm using CS4 (PC) and realised that the plus sign indicating local overrides don't show in Table and Cell styles. Is that a glitch or that's the way it's meant to be? Any takers?
    Tricia

    You could try adding the following to your .css file:
    td {vertical-align: top;}
    This should affect the alignment of text in all table cells, regardless of whether you have a table style defined. It should not affect any other formatting that you have applied to the text in the table.

  • Why doesnt applies table style?

    Give, pls a hint (again ;))
    I plan to format table entirely (table style, all cells style, para body style, para header style and cell header style)
    I stared with:
    Set MyInd = CreateObject("InDesign.Application.CS3")
    Set myDoc = MyInd.ActiveDocument
    Set myPage = myDoc.Pages.Item(1)
    MyInd.Paste '(get clipboard from word-table)
    Set myStory = myDoc.Stories.Item(1)
    Set myParagraph = myStory.Paragraphs.Item(1)
    Set myTable = myParagraph.Tables.Item(1)
    On Error Resume Next 'for debugging purpose
    myTable.Rows.Item(1).RowType = idRowTypes.idHeaderRow
    On Error GoTo 0
    'myTable.AppliedTableStyle = "Table Style Body"
    i work, but don't overrides
    'myTable.AppliedCellStyle = "Table Style Body" '''the same
    myTable.ApplyStyle "Table Style Body", True
    i override, but "OBJECT DOESNT support!"
    myTable.ApplyStyle "Cell Style Body", True 'the same
    How to apply table style to whole table? (how to script correctly?)
    Thanks

    Yes.
    I wrote like this:
    kk = myTable.Columns.Count
    With myTable
    Call .Cells.ItemByRange(.Cells.Item(1), .Cells.Item(-1)).Item(-1).ClearCellStyleOverrides
    Call .ClearTableStyleOverrides
    Set mySel = .Cells.ItemByRange(.Cells.Item(1), .Cells.Item(-1)).Item(-1) 'for all table
    Set mySelH = .Cells.ItemByRange(.Cells.Item(1), .Cells.Item(kk)).Item(-1) 'for only header
    End With
    myTable.AppliedTableStyle = "Table Style Body"
    mySel.AppliedCellStyle = "Cell Style Body"
    mySelH.AppliedCellStyle.AppliedParagraphStyle = "Table body"
    mySelH.AppliedCellStyle = "Cell Style Head"
    mySelH.AppliedCellStyle.AppliedParagraphStyle = "Table Head"
    So we can apply parastyles only for object "cell", not for "table"?
    So we must have specified range of cells for working with?
    Thanks.

  • Can table styles be mapped to Word?

    I used one of the RH table styles for many of my tables; however, when I create the Word document, the tables do not appear correctly. Short of going into the Word document and correcting the numerous tables, is there a way to map tables?

    It depends on the version of RoboHelp you are using. It can be done in RoboHelp 9 as explained in the sample projects.

  • Saved table style

    I saved a table style  in a worksheet I was working on as I would need to use the style frequently in the future.  Unfortunately, the style is not showing up in the Tables pan when I create a new file.  I wonder why, or do I need to use Save as Template instead?

    Hi stressymum,
    How did you save the table style? I must admit I have never done that until your question intrigued me. Then through the Help menu I found this:

    Does that help?

  • Alternating strokes in a table style

    I'm setting up a table style like the following:
    |--------||---------|------------|
    |--------||---------|------------|
    |--------||---------|------------|
    |--------||---------|------------|
    |--------||---------|------------|
    |--------||---------|------------|
    The table has two heading rows. The vertical column strokes are set up to alternate 3 pt and 1 pt strokes. I created a heading row cell style. The problem is that the heading rows don't have the alternating strokes. Is there a way to have alternating heavy and light column strokes for the table style and have them apply to the heading cells as well as the body cell?

    Create 2 css classes that represent you're alternating row
    colors and use this UDF and it will adapt to missing rows from the
    query.
    <style>
    .ResultSetA {
    background-color: #FFFFFF;}
    .ResultSetB {
    background-color: #D7DBFF;}
    </style>
    used like : <tr
    class="#alternateRow('ResultSetB,ResultSetA')#">
    // alternateRow(styleList[,clear])
    // @styleList (list - classes to cycle through)
    // @clear (string - anything)
    // returns a CSS class
    // Example #alternateRow('ResultSetA,ResultSetB')#
    function alternateRow(styleList)
    var class = "";
    if (not isDefined("styleNumber") OR arraylen(arguments) GT
    1) {
    styleNumber = 1;
    class = listGetAt(styleList,styleNumber);
    if (styleNumber EQ listLen(styleList)) {
    styleNumber = 1;
    } else {
    styleNumber = styleNumber + 1;
    return class;
    }
