Table too big to print

This is my first time using numbers so im having a bit of trouble. I just made a table with 23 countries and their IDP's and when I made it into a single column chart the chart only showed a few countries so I expanded it to make them all showing. Only thing is when I expanded it it made it like 5 pages long if I wanted to print it. So I made the countries on the x-axis vertical and it helped a little but its still too long. How can I make a graph that will fit on one page to be printed??

First, size your chart as you need to so everything shows as you like it to.
At the left of the toolbar is an icon for "view". Click it and select Show Layout. This will show you how your pages will look when printed. In the layout view there is a slider at the bottom for "content size". Slide it to the left to make your chart (and table) smaller. Slide it until your chart fits on one page. Your table may be really small at this point. If it is too small, select the table and drag the selection box to enlarge it. If necessary, put the table on one page and the chart on another.

  • Scanned doc now too big for print

    Hi,
    I have scanned this sheet and modified it, now i need to print it back but photoshop says its too big for print.
    Indeed it just printed a portion of it.
    Can someone with experience of this kind of issue explain me the technicalities and what should i do?
    I know photoshop only when it comes to chop pictures, put loads of filters and make them jolly, i am not into stuffs like scan/sizing/printing, etc.,  so please don't explain to go down to the basic basics in your explanation.
    Thanks

    Well, when you say "Manufacturer's software" I assume you mean the scanner's software and NOT Photoshop.  It is best to scan directly into Photoshop by using the menu File>Acquire Image>[select your scanner source--either the scanner name or TWAIN driver].  When this is chosen your scanner's driver will launch a "plug-in" software interface that will allow you to scan the document and set a marquee around what you want to scan and also choose the resolution.  After that you will be able to save the document -- give it a unique name like "file.psd" -- and then make changes -- again give it a unique name like "file_edited.psd".   The document measurements you gave us seem to fit within the bounds of a United States (US) Letter size document which is 8.5 inches x 11 inches.  If your printer has the ability to print borderless documents you should be able to print this document without a problem with a resolution of 300dpi.  It is possible that it would not be able to if there is not enough memory on your printer and that is why you get the error message.  (But as a JPG image the file size will be compressed, so I'm not really sure why your document would be too large.)

    Right, so to advise you we'd need to know the particulars of MagCloud's spec for your project; format, trim size, bleed, etc.
    It's doubtful that anything happened "when uploading for printing," so long as you were uploading a PDF, as opposed to the native InDesign file. Did the PDF look right to you before uploading?

  • Size of exported pages doc is too big to print on normal computer paper

    My mac is at home but I print things at the office on the office printer with a PC. I export in both pdf and word but when i go to print the size of the pictures and wording is too large and it is ballooned out. How can I get a normal exported size so that i can print at the office?

    Set your print to 100%.
    The exported size has not changed, it is what it is, unless you have chosen to print at say 200% in your Page Setup… and surely you would remember doing that?

  • Index is not used (why and what should i do) table too big

    hi guys,
    having a headache now. (on 10gR2 on linux system)
    I used to have a large table and this is how i managed it. (i am on standard edition (thus i have no partitioning)
    i would have a
    1) cron job run daily to keep track of the lowest and highest ID of the table PER MONTH (inserted into a table)
    2) below is the table
    CDR     MONTH     01-AUG-11 00:00:00     94118236     97584656
    CDR     MONTH     01-SEP-11 00:00:00     97581362     100573669
    CDR     MONTH     01-OCT-11 00:00:00     100570865     103631203
    CDR     MONTH     01-NOV-11 00:00:00     103629760     106497084
    CDR     MONTH     01-DEC-11 00:00:00     106494085     107306335
    so as you can see, for the month of dec for example, the lowest CDR is 10649408 and the highest is 107306335.
    3) so everytime i write a sql on this table if i want to get data for NOV
    select * from cdr where ID >= get_cdr_id('CDR','NOV','SMALLEST');
    and it would be
    select * from cdr where ID >= 103629760;
    In the past, the index will be used (index range scan), but now the optimiser is doing a FTS and is taking too much time.
    therefore i went to force the index
    select /*+INDEX(C, CDR_PK)*/* from cdr C where cdr_id > 103629760 and cdr_id < 106497084;
    and the COST -> 1678927 (CDR, INDEX_ROWID)
    13158 (CDR_PK, RANGE SCAN)
    -- the result return is fast and good.
    without the index
    select * from cdr C where cdr_id > 100570865 and cdr_id < 103631203
    the COST -> 440236 (CDR,FULL)
    -- but the result return is slow like anything
    My question is
    1) which cost should i look at ?
    the one with index hint have much higher COST, but the results return are so FAST.
    1678927 (with hint) compare with 440236 (FTS)
    2) is using the index is the correct way, why isnt my optimiser using it ?! how do i make the optimiser used it ?

    About the clustering factor– I think there are two possibilities:
    1) The “clustering factor” is generally correct, i.e. it represents the true value of how the data is “scattered” through the table. The clustering factor for the fragment of data you are interested in (where cdr_id > 100570865 and cdr_id < 103631203), however, is different (smaller).
    2)Oracle did not compute the “clustering factor” correctly. It is not uncommon occurrence, particularly in 10g. This blog entry by Randolf Geist is quite informative - http://oracle-randolf.blogspot.com/2010/01/clusteringfactor-what-if-analysis.html. Comprehensive information on that topic is available in Jonathan Lewis’ book Cost Based Oracle Fundamentals (chapter 5).
    You can make the index more attractive by setting lower “clustering factor” value using DBMS_STATS.SET_INDEX_STATS. If you choose to do that, you should review your whole stats gathering procedure, because the next gathering would most likely reset the “clustering factor” to its old (high) value.

  • D010TAB table too big

    Hello,
    I´ve found on ECC 6.0 (netweaver 2004s), that the largest table on the system (currently 10GB an 44M rows) is table D010TAB.
    Is there any specific maintenance that should be done on this table? Is it a normal beheaviour that is table is that big? There is no issue at the moment with this table, but i suspect that if it keeps growing it will have a negative performance impact on the system.
    From my previous systems, I never found that this table is among the top 10 biggest tables on DB02.

  • Top margin too big when printing to shared printer

    We have a Canon Pixma iP6600D printer that is connected to an iMac on our home network and shared for printing with other macs in the house.
    Suddenly, since a few days ago, any prints made from these other machines are printing with too large a top margin (i.e. the print starts too low on the page by about an inch), and so the bottom margin is consequently too narrow (and sometimes the ink even overflows past the bottom of the page).
    When I attach the printer directly via USB to one of these machines then the printouts look just fine.
    All the machines have OSX 10.7.2 installed.

    This worked for me too, though I was in a rush and didn't really read what I was doing.  This tip removes all printers configured on your Mac, not just the one that is selected.  If you also connect to networked printers (not those with configured with Bonjour) or any other advanced printer, you'll want to write down any IP addresses or settings before proceeding.  My guess is that simply removing and then adding the Bonjour printer again would also do the trick.

  • When I print a web page, the font size is always the default (which is good for screen reading, but too big for printing), even when I use Text Zoom to make it smaller.

    How can I change the font size when printing web pages?

    When you zoom in, it is like using a magnifying glass - the underlying image remains unchanged, as you have found out.
    You may be able to enlarge the bird to some extent without distortion and without pixilation by resampling.
    Go image menu>resize>image size. Be sure that "constrain proportions " is checked in the dialog.

    Julian,
    Pages simply won't support a table with that many rows. If you need that many, you must use another application.
    Perhaps the originator could use a tabbed list rather than a table. That's the only way you will be able to contain a list that long in Pages. You can do the conversion yourself if you open the Word document in LibreOffice, Copy the Table, Paste the Table into Numbers, Export the Numbers doc to CSV, and import to Pages. In Pages Find and Replace the Commas with Tabs.
    There are probably other ways, but that's what comes to mind here.

  • Pdf and preview printing too big

    This problem just began: When I click to print a pdf in either Adobe Reader or Preview, it prints off the page, way too big. The image is fine in the preview window. It happens identically on two printers. Gmail and google and Word docs print fine.
    I have clicked FIT and scale in the Reader program, but the result is the same. It's obvioulsy a setting, but the answer is not obvious.

    looking again, it prints badly in Chrome, Safari, pdf, preview but NOT Firefox.
    And, I was wrong about Gmail. it prints wrong from gmail, too.

  • Print window frame too big

    Now that I'm running Firefox 4.0.1 (on a Vista 64-bit PC), often when I want to print a web page, the frame around the Windows Print box is too big to fit the screen. The buttons that are critical for controlling print functions, and in particular the print command button itself, lie below the Taskbar, out of sight and unreachable in spite of all attempts to reposition the window using the mouse.
    I've checked my screen resolution and it's right for my monitor, unchanged since previous versions of Firefox.
    I know I can print by hitting Enter on the keyboard, but it's always taking a chance because, unable to see any buttons, I can't confirm that the settings are as I want them to be.
    Is there a solution?

    I am trying to resolve a similar problem on a Toshiba laptop running Vista. Dialog boxes are being displayed that fill the entire screen truncating the OK, Cancel and Apply buttons that should appear at the bottom of the dialog box. This is happening on all contol panel and games settings dialog boxes. I have tried the Toshiba zoom settings (FN+Space), but this has not foxes the problem.

  • Too big Printer spooler file

    Hi,
    I'm using PrintJob Class to print and I have the problem that the files the program build in the spooler printer are too big ( 2MB/page A4), I think the problem could be in the font that I'm using but I don't know why because I'm using "Courier New". I do:
    PrintJob pg = new PrintJob(...);
    Font fon = new Font("courier new", Font.PLAIN, 12);
    Graphics gra = pg.getGraphics();
    gra.setFont(fon);
    gra.drawString("vvvvvvvvvv",10,10);
    Thanks in advance!!
    Salvador Huertas.

    You seem focused on the difference between 33 megabytes binary and a 44 megabytes transfer — the messages have to be encoded as SMTP mail was never intended as a binary transfer mechanism — mail servers transfer printable text messages — and the text-encoded attached binary files are inherently going to be larger than the original files.
    You're going to have to raise the mail server limits (which requires administrative access to the mail server), or find an alternate means of transferring the file — mail servers aren't very efficient at large transfers, large files tend to blow out mail server storage quotas, and blow out mail files.   Or chunk up the file into smaller files, send the chunks independently, and then concatenate the file remotely.  (There are tools around to do this — at the command line, have a look at the zipsplit tool — but I'd generally discourage this approach as it adds effort and complexity to the process.)
    The usual approach is a file transfer service.   Dropbox or SpiderOak or some other file hosting or file transfer service are the most common approaches here, and are also more efficient than the overhead involved with large attachments sent via a mail server.   Many of these file-hosting services offer more than enough storage here, and often as part of a free service tier.
    Some folks can and do run their own file-hosting services, but that generally involves configuring and managing a server system and the associated network connections.
