Tableless Layouts with Dreamweaver 8 ?

site tutorial link I am following the tutorial from this Adobe
site. When I get to Figure 4 I do not have the option to make
"demo.css" the document choice. The only choice I have is "(New
Style Sheet File)". thanks! ^ ^

I'm not fond of Library items and use server-side includes
instead. It's
ever so much more convenient to update. But I don't have
enough information
to answer your question. What does "blew up the page" mean?
What does
"made in CSS" mean? Could it be that you are trying to add
CSS to the
Library item? Of course, that's a bad idea. A well formed
Library item
cannot contain -
* <html>, <head>, or <body> tags
* links to external CSS files
* embedded CSS rules
That means no behaviors, and it also means that anything that
the Library
item needs to function must already be linked/provided by the
page into
which the Library item is inserted.

Problems Creating a "Fluid Grid Layout" with Adobe Dreamweaver CS6

I am trying to create a fluid grid layout in Dreamweaver CS6 (which I know how to do), the problem is Dreamweaver started automatically saving the boilerplate.css & respond.min.js in the Dreamweaver program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration\BuiltIn\Fluid Grid Layout\) it does not ask me to save the boilerplate.css or the respond.min.js docs as it normally does. Dreamweaver CS6 also creates a css document instead of the html page it should create. I called Adobe support, however they offer no support for "Fluid Grid Layouts", and I cannot seem to find a solution to this problem anywhere on the internet. If anyone knows how to fix this so it will work properly again it will be greatly appreciated!

If you have restored the preferences correctly and the issue is still unresolved I would recommend checking the workflow again.
Define a new site in Dreamweaver.
File < New Fluid Grid Layout < Create. Doctype set to HTML5 and no CSS file attached.
A dialog box will pop up, prompting you to save the CSS for this design. This is your custom style sheet. Give a "filename.css" < Click Save.
Once you've done that, the layout for the mobile device appears in the design view as an "untitled" new document with related files listed as "boilerplate.css","respond.min.js" and "filename.css" i.e your custom CSS file.
File < Save < "filename.html". < Save. On clicking Save it will show a popup with the message: Copy Dependent Files, which are boilerplate.css and respond.min.js.

How do I edit the CSS of a Dynamic Menu with Dreamweaver and Business Catalyst.

I've watched tutorials on v2 menu module and it obviously was not made for someone just starting out in Business Catalyst. I want to edit the CSS of my Dynamic Module, preferably V1, but if I have to use version 2 I will. The problem I am running into is that the width of the menu I am trying to make is not big enough. The menu is extremely simple, I could whip it up with css and html in a matter of minutes. Just black words horizontal layout with a dark red hover color and selected state. I can change all that in Business Catalyst Site Manager just fine, however, the width of my menu when I look at it on the site, is way too small. Probably only 750px wide. I want it 1000px wide, but I haven't the faintest idea of where to find that information to change. When I add the menu module to my html code i get this: {module_menu,1534789}. How do I add or find css/html to edit the properties? I know I can add classes to the items inside the menu in the Site Manager, but where do I find the html code that shows those names?
I'm obviously missing something important and probably really easy, so I hope someone can help.

I went ahead and built the navigation without a module, easier than wasting all this time trying to figure it out.
But initially my main problem was when I add the Menu module to my html in dreamweaver, this: {module_menu,1534789} would be put in my html instead of css/html code. Now if publish my site and look at the page source, it shows the css/html, but it doesn't in dreamweaver. So is that the only way to edit the css/html code, copy the page source and replace the {module_menu,1534789} with the copied code in dreamweaver?

Using fluid grid layout in Dreamweaver CC - how do I create a dropdown menu within my main navigation?

I am new to using the responsive fluid grid layouts in Dreamweaver CC - and I am unable to find any information on creating a dropdown menu within my main navigation.

You'll need to find a menu system that is responsive and mobile friendly for touch screen devices.
If you have a budget to work with, Project Seven's Pop-Menu Magic3 is a commercial extension for DW that works great out of the box.

Fluid Grid Layout with Sidebar

I am fairly new to dreamweaver and trying to build a fluid grid layout with a sidebar which needs to span the full height of the website and I am having trouble. I cant get the sidebar to span multiple columns using the fluid grids. I know I can do it with pure css using display options but wanted to know if. Can do it visually using dreamweaver's built in tools and UI.
Can someone point out if I am going about this correctly? I can provide more info if needed.

I started using FGL when first introduced. In the meantime they have improved quite a bit, but I was so taken aback that I decided not to go down that path again.
I have used Foundation and am now using Bootstrap. Although I would prefer to use the former as I think that it is better, the general trend is towards Bootstrap.
You can start with the free of charge Bootstrap extension.

How do I center my layout in dreamweaver?

I have been using lynda.com to help guide me through correct page layout for dreamweaver. For the most part I have found this to be very successful. I do have an issue I need help with though. I am working on a new site that needs the layout in the center of the page and not to the left. I have attached what I have done so far (just a body tag and a wrapper tag). I tried using text align in the body and wrapper tags and I seem unable to center the wrapper tag in order to put the layout in the center of the page. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Problems controlling divs with dreamweaver cs4

Hi all, so I have been hard coding my website and have had great success with the layout and everything. I am having trouble with dreamweaver cs4, does anyone know if cs4 is compatible with html5? My silicone cupcake liners website looks great but a nice transition to dreamweaver would save a lot of work.

DWCS4 won't be able to correctly read the html5 semantic tags like <nav><aside> or <header> while in Live View. The built in version of the quasi-webkit browser is just too old.
Design View will work for the most part, but does get confused by certain things within HTML5 specific tags, so that will look even more broken than normal.
It also will not automatically generate any HTML5 specific code, there are no HTML5 menu options and there is no update to make it do that.
The program itself is no longer supported by Adobe, being the 5th version removed from "current"...

It is increasingly unbearable working with Dreamweaver, every time I work using tables, adding links in the tab "layout" program stuck, literally has multiple problems with apple magic mouse and you need to pay monthly for something gives me a lot of problems, I can not work like this ... any solution? ... thanks in advance.

Issues editing Layouts using Dreamweaver CS4 (ShopOnline)

Hi Everyone,
I am having Issues editing Layouts using Dreamweaver CS4 (ShopOnline). May be someone has encounter this problem. When I open the large_product.html in dreamweaver (after installing the extension for BC) the file opens, but when I go to the property inspector, I can not modify any of the css rules currently defined and no css is linked to this file. I looked at all the available css's and I could not find any with the defined rules in this page.
I need help. Thanks.

It must be a module template layout that is being used. If you're on the latest interface it's under
Site Manager > Module Templates > Online Shop Layouts > Individual Product (small or large)
and if you're on the older interface it's
Ecommerce > Products > Advanced Layout customization (under the “related” box at the bottom right)

Stack 2 sidebar layout in dreamweaver for mobile

I have a 2 sidebar liquid layout in dreamweaver (still on CS5 unfortunately so limited media queries) that I want to size for a mobile device and stack both sidebars on top of the content. I've tried pasting both sidebars into the navbar at the top in the mobile css but its not working.
Can anyone help me with this?

Yahoo Merchant Tools with Dreamweaver CS$

I have a client that I am redesigning a site for. Her current site uses Yahoo eCommerce which I believe she set up quite a while back using their templates. I am wondering if anyone is aware of any extension for Dreamweaver CS4 that work with Yahoo Merchant Tools. I found an extension for DW MX, MX 2004 and 8, but I can't seem to find anything for CS4. According to Yahoo the merchant tools integrate with Dreamweaver, but again they don't provide any info.
Otherwise does anyone know of any other good, affordable eCommerce options that work with Dreamweave CS4? My client recommended homestead.com, but it looks like they want you to use their pre-designed templates. I wan't to build the site using Dreamweaver obviously so I have more control over design and layout. Ideally something where I can just add a script or something to a button which would take the user into a shopping cart that I can also apply some customization so it looks somewhat like the actual site. The shopping cart customization doesn't necessarrily have to be done in Dreamweaver. In short, I want to build the bulk of the site using CS4, and the cart can be a WISYWIG outside web application if it needs to.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

This is a drawback of using flash or any other active
content. By default, all active content including flash will
display over every other content and thats why your menu stays
under the flash movie. Some people make the flash background
transparent to show content under the flash movie, but that will
not work for menu items.
I would suggest that you make the menu such that it does not
overlap with the flash movie.

Line Layout with Reference Key in F-03

Dear all,
Iu2019m facing the following problem.
I modified the line layouts for F-03 through O7Z4S. In particular I created a line layouts with the field Reference key 1. The problem is that in F-03, using this variant, the field XREF1 appeared always blank. The same thing happens for XREF2 while for XREF3 everthing is ok.
Is something that I forgot in customizing?

I created the same - Reference Key in IDES it works if you create with text and then insert Reference key as part of Field with this.
