Q about Serial Numbers...

I registered FCP and various other components using my Apple ID. Does anyone know if it is possible to retrieve the registration number from Apple, if it was entered there once? I'm trying to upgrade to 6.0.2 from 6.0.2 and the web site asks for the reg numer. I'm sure a couple hours rummaging around will turn up the original discs, but it's frustrating that Apple "knows" I entered the number once, I'm logging in to get the download, but it wants the number again...

Guys, software update will not suggest you download an update that requires a serial number. There are currently 9 updates to FCStudio 2, including2 "pro apps" updates. Once I found the serial number (see next) I ran software update to see if it would tell me anything - answer: nada. It did not even suggest the pro-apps updates required by FCS2 or any of the components.
My original post was more or less a complaint that Apple knows who I am and I've registered serial numbers, but I still have to produce the serial number to download an update (which presumably is useless without the original software installed already anyway).
The serial number problem was that I have two nearly identical "installing your software" bookelets with the serial number stickers on the face. I simply didn't notice, at first, that one of them says "Final cut studio upgrade from FCP" and the other says, "Final cut studio 2 UPG from FCS." Once I used the second one, everything worked.
All of this works fine with 10.4.11. There is no need to upgrade to Leopard for any of this, at least not on a G5.

Question about Serial Numbers

I recently purchased a few WS-SVC-FWM-1 from a gold vendor and I am seeing that the external serials do not match the internal serials... is this normal or should i send these back?

Question about serial numbers/authorization

Hi there. I am trying to install Photoshop Elements on my new computer. I installed it on one computer already, but I erased the operating system and sold this computer. Then I tried to install it on another computer, but unfortunately the operating system was too old to be compatible with Photoshop. Because it didn't work, I unfortunately just erased the program from this computer without uninstalling it. Now that I want to install Photoshop Elements on my new computer, it won't let me, as I've already installed it two times and need to uninstall it on one computer. But unfortunately, for the reasons I just gave, this is not possible. Can you please help? Thanks!!!

Stock with serial numbers

Hi,
Is there any standard report for which gives us the details of stock and related serial number for a set of materials. If not, kindly give me pointers towards the tables to be accessed for generating a query.

Thanx Bala. I am aware of MMBE TC. There i get for only one material. I need to know for a set of materials. The requirement is like this, the client wants to know what are all the materials having serial number profile and what is the stock status for the same and if stock is avl, is it stored with respect to the serial numbers and what are the serial numbers and the count of stock which does not have serial numbers. The client wants it in one single TC. I know there is no such standard TC avl in SAP. I would want to make a query and assign a TC to the same. In this context i was searching for the table which holds this serial number details. The stock can be got from MARD and the serial no profile from MARC. I am not able to locate the table for serial numbers. Any pointers for this would be highly appreciated.

Sales order Serial numbers genaration

Hi Experts
While creating sales order i am trying to genarate Serial numbers as per my requirement for sales order
I put break point in USEREXIT_CHECK_VBSN routine but control is not stopping
this routine is specific to for serial numbers but controls is not stopping
can any body tell me why
I am using userexit_save_document routine can in this which internal table this Serial numbers are stored?

Hi Vinay,
I believe the serial numbers are configured to be created in specific number ranges..so discussing with the fxnal consultant to set the sales order number in a particular range will give a probable solution
Anyways in the user exit check XVBAK/XVBAP for header and item data from user exits

Can anyone tell me the table in which the serial numbers are stored for the production orders? I have created a production order and have assigned serial numbvers to it. Now I want to extract these serial numbers from the table.

In table SER05, the list of serial number details can be obtained.key the order noin ser05 table, get field OBJKNR, then pass this OBJKNR in table OBJK .

SER02 Serial numbers assigned to a guarentee
SER03 Serial numbers assigned to a material document
SER04 Serial numbers assigned to an inspection lot

SER07 Serial numbers for Stocktaking
SER08 serial numbers for Orders (SD)
The assignment of serial numbers to a production order can be done either via transaction CO02 or at the latest when the GR from Production is made.

Database Design: table to enter product serial numbers

Hi,
I'm developing a database for invoice details. The data also includes product serial number. I have an Invoice table, Products table and InvoiceProducts table- to normalise the many to many relationship of Invoice and products. I can't enter the serial numbers in the InvoiceProducts table since this will mention the quantity of a particular product in the invoice. Please can you advise how/where I can enter the serial number details. what is the industry practise for storing invoice informatioin.

I'm not sure about adding serial numbers in products table since I want it to be a generic table for all products recorded from different invoices. I would want serial numbers to be invoice-product specific but again Im not sure how I can add serial numbers to the InvoiceLineItem table since invoiceID and productID cant be represented as composite Primary keys in that case. Also, I plan to have a column for number of units in the InvoiceLineItem table.
Can I introduce a serial number column in the InvoiceLineItem table and separate all the serialnumbers using a separator like comma?Will I compromise on atomicity of the serial number?If I include serial number column in the InvoiceLIneItem table... I can have composite key for InvoiceID, ProductNumber and serialNumber or will it mean redundant invoice and product details for every row of serial number
The application essentially records all the details from a printed copy of Invoice onto the database through manual entry.
Please can you help me getover this...

SER01 -> provide links between delivery and serial number object.
You can select by LIEF_NR = 'delivery number'.
OBJK -> content of serial numbers
You can select by OBKNR = 'SER01-OBKNR'.
Further more:
You can check in SE11 with name "SER0*". Then you can see a list of tables which contains link between serial number to other document.
SER01 -> Delivery
SER02 -> Maint.Contract (SD Order)
SER03 -> Goods Movements
SER04 -> Inspection Lot
SER05 -> PP Order
SER06 -> Handling Unit-Content

Which tables and fields are to be used to find whether the given serial numbers are active or made inactive
Equippment numbers are produced along with serial numbers
when i see in IQ08/IQ03 ---when i explore the field SYSTEM STATUS its showing .........
Table : RIHEQUI_LIST
Field : STTXT
but the table mentioned does not have any contenets to explore , is it a view ?
how to explore further
our requirement is out of given serial numbers which are in active status and which are made inactive

Assign Serial numbers to handling Units in the Packing

Hi,
I'm using a Function module SERNR_ADD_TO_HU for to add Serial numbers into the handling units. Function module executed successfully and returns a commit value 'X', but table SER06 was not updated. Is there any thing i'm missing (or) is there any other function module for to add serial numbers to the handling uints.

You can use FM WS_DELIVERY_UPDATE to update serial numbers in HU assigned to deliveries.
I've just finished the code (it took me about 4 days to get it right!!! it was driving me crazy, but it's working now!!!).

I am using a bapi, BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE to create new serial numbers in the system. Following are the inputs that i am passing to the bapi.

After executing this FM, I get a screen which unfortunately i cant paste it here. This screen is same as the screen that appears in MIGO while creating serial numbers. To give you idea about the screen, it has following fields - Division, Device category, Serial Number,
                                    manufacturer, Model number, Construct year,
                                    Cert Year, Cert No. and many more.
As this screen appears, I tried to enter the relevant fields but the control does not move to next screen.Every time info message is displayed as "Function code cannot be selected.
Can anyone please help? Or can anyone suggest a FM to create serial numbers in the system through
program?

Here is the simple way can you try this,,
Execute the transaction SNRO and define the number ranges,, call this in your program using f.m. get_number_next and pass the object if as '1' and object name as what you have used while creating number ranges. it will gives u the serial number.....

Serial numbers for inventory

Hi,
I am having several materials with serial number profiles in unrestricted stock.
Now, my questions are:
1. Is there any report that I can run to see the plant, material, stock level and the serial number (not the serial number profile)? I DO NOT want to use transaction MMBE because I want everything listed as explained above.
2. What tables would be relevant to include in a query to get this information?
I prefer a standard report, if available, so I will give you higher points if it can be achieved by standard report.

I checked IQ09, but I could not find any information about unrestricted stock (or any other stock category either) in the report?
Does anyone know which tables to join for a stock report with serial numbers? Preferably MARD and something else.

Serial numbers for packaging in Delivery

Dear Mr Meitalmo,
I have investigated about the Crystal Report and as it stands the Crystal report only pulls information that is already in the application, so it will not create the serial number.
I am trying to understand what you normally do to find an alternative for you.
So far I have come up with some ideas:
- if you need the serial number on the packaging only (and the items are not either batches or serial numbers) then you can change the items to batch and when you create the package be careful to take the items from the same batch.
- if you need serial numbers for the items, plus an extra one for the packaging, then do the following:
Create the UDF field in the packaging window and every time you create a new package write manually the serial number. Then modify the printing of the packaging so that this value has been included.
Alternative, you can create a UD table to store this information.
Please, let me know if one of my suggestions help and let me know what the scenario is.

Dear Meitalmo,
Now you should change the template of the packaging.
To do this please go to Business One and open the Delivery and then the packaging window.
Then go to the Print Layout Designer (PLD - you can click the pen on the toolbar) and choose the template.
The template must be modified in order to add the information you need.
