Tables, CSS or XML ?

Hi there, I'm new on WEB design and programming, I'm using
the Studio 8 suite, and I've started from the dreamweaver "livedoc"
to create a site, there are three different ways explained in that
document tables, CSS levels and XML/XLT. What is the best way and
why?
I have some problems already to make it works with the CSS
levels, because once I've added the colour to the levels and to the
main page the levels aren't visible. Why? thank you.

CSS levels?
Here's a post I have repeated (and updated) more than once
here about layers
and tables -
you may find it helpful -

  • How to export table contents in xml file format through SQL queries

    hi,
    i need to export the table data in to xml file format. i got it through the GUI what they given.
    i'm using Oracle 10g XE.
    but i need to send the table name from Java programs. so, how to call the export commands from programming languages through. is there any sql commands to export the table contents in xml format.
    and one more problem is i created each transaction in two tables. for example if we have a transaction 'sales' , that will be saved in db as
    sales1 table and sales2 table. here i maintained and ID field in sales1 as PK. and id as FK in sales2.
    i get the combined data with this query,
    select * from sales1 s1, sales2 s2 where s1.id=s2.id order by s1.id;
    it given all the records, but i'm getting two ID fields (one from each table). how to avoid this. here i dont know how many fields will be there in each table. that will be known at runtime only.
    the static information is sales1 have one ID field with PK and sales2 will have one ID filed with FK.
    i need ur valuable suggestions.
    regards
    pavan.

    You can use DBMS_XMLGEN.getXML('your Query') for generating data in tables to XML format and you can use DBMS_XMLGEN.SETROWSETTAG to change the parent element name other wise it will give rowset as well as DBMS_XMLGEN.SETROWTAG for row name.
    Check this otherwise XMLELEMENT and XMLFOREST function are also there to convert data in XML format.

  • How to insert data into a table from an xml document

    using the XmlSql Utility, how do I insert data into a table from an xml document, using the sqlplus prompt.
    if i use the xmlgen.insertXML(....)
    requires a CLOB file, which i dont have, only the xml doc.
    Cant i insert directly from the doc to the table?
    the xmlgen examples I have seen first convert a table to a CLOB xmlString and then insert it into another table.
    Isnt there any other way?

    Your question is little perplexing.
    If you're using XML SQL Utility from
    the commandline, just use putXML.
    java OracleXML putXML

  • Creating a Pivot Table in a XML publishe

    When creating a Pivot Table in a XML publisher in Word, is there a way for a Pivot table to respect the fact that it's inside of a group function? I'm looping over site , and within each site I want to create a Pivot Table that has Months going across and SUB inventories going down, but only for that site.

    Hello,
    create one column in criteria and change it's fx to case when 1=0 then Products."Prod Name" else 'Tota Loanl' end
    Now go to pivot and drag this column to Columns block of pivot. But keep this column up of Measure Labels and Now, go to column Format values.
    Mention cell horizontal alignment to Center
    see the following screenshot, Header is the column i created with the above functionality.

    Hi all,
    When I copy a table with an xml type in it to a new schema in the same database I get an ora-19009.

    Can some one point me in the right direction how to solve this error.
    Thanks Roelof.

    Who did you create the second table, in other words, how did you COPY the table as you said...
    If you created the second table via a CTAS (create table as select) then you will have created a table that is not the same as the original one. AFAIK I have once created an enhancement request for this after discovering that JDeveloper, for example, creates a "copy" via a CTAS which creates the wrong structure. Double check via package DBMS_METADATA.
    SQL> set long 1000000
    SQL> select DBMS_METADATA('TABLE','TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE','SchemaA') from dual;
    SQL> select DBMS_METADATA('TABLE','TABLE_WITH_XMLTYPE','SchemaB') from dual;If you have got two different tables, than Mark's solution should help.

    No, I don't think that explanation is correct. I don't think it has to do with user privs. besides, we don't
    adjust rowids on an import -- we recreate the index, just like a b-tree index import would.
    This should be working. It's most likely a bug in our (i.e. Text) import code -- SYS.XMLTYPE is a little
    strange because under the covers it's actually a function-based index.
    I will test it out and file a bug if I can reproduce the behavior on solaris.

  • Internal Table Data to XML

    Hi
    I have a requirement of writing internal table data to XML. Any idea where i should start.
    I have pretty good experience with ABAP and basic knowledge in XML.
    There are good blogs which talk about transformations and other stuff but they are not able to give me clear path to my solution.
    Could somebody give me a basic example or some reference material where i can move the data in internal table (assume Sales order details of a day) to XML.
    Thanks

    Refer the program -
    In this implementation we will only focus on the creation of the XML file and the transfer to the user. You can not create a XML document directly. You have to use a so called ixml factory first.
    TYPE-POOLS: ixml.
    DATA: l_ixml TYPE REF TO if_ixml.
    l_ixml = cl_ixml=>create( ).
    This iXML factory can create an empty XML document object named l_document.
    DATA:  l_document TYPE REF TO if_ixml_document.
            l_document = l_ixml->create_document( ).
    At this point you can add the nodes (elements, attributes) into the document. First you have to declare the root element node.
    DATA: l_element_root TYPE REF TO if_ixml_element.
    This node we have to give a name and add it (create_simple_node) to the document object l_document, which will be the parent of this node.
    l_element_root  = l_document->create_simple_element(
                name = 'flights'
              parent = l_document ).
    Next we can add child nodes to there parent node using the same method of the document object.
    DATA: l_element_airline TYPE REF TO if_ixml_element,
    l_element_airline  = l_document->create_simple_element(
                   name = 'airline'
                 parent = l_element_root  ).
    An attribute can be add easily using the method set_attribute of the element node.
    l_rc = l_element_airline->set_attribute( name = 'code' value = 'LH401' ).
    Now we have finished the document object. Regretfully it can not be displayed in any form due to the fact that it is a binary object.
    The next step is to convert the created document to a flat file. To achieve this we have to create a stream factory, which will help us to create an output stream.
    DATA: l_streamfactory   TYPE REF TO if_ixml_stream_factory.
    l_streamfactory = l_ixml->create_stream_factory( ).
    In this case, we will convert the document into an output stream which is based on an internal table of type x.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF xml_line,
              data(256) TYPE x,
            END OF xml_line.
    DATA:  l_xml_table       TYPE TABLE OF xml_line,
            l_xml_size        TYPE i,
            l_rc              TYPE i,
            l_ostream         TYPE REF TO if_ixml_ostream.
    l_ostream = l_streamfactory->create_ostream_itable( table = l_xml_table ).
    When we have created the output stream we can do the rendering from the document into the stream. The XML data will be stored in the internal table automatically.
    DATA: l_renderer        TYPE REF TO if_ixml_renderer.
    l_renderer = l_ixml->create_renderer( ostream  = l_ostream
                            & nbsp;              document = l_document ).
    l_rc = l_renderer->render( ).
    In the last step we upload the file to the sapgui
    l_xml_size = l_ostream->get_num_written_raw( ).
    CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download
       EXPORTING
         bin_filesize = l_xml_size
         filename     = 'c:\temp\flights.xml'
         filetype     = 'BIN'
       CHANGING
         data_tab     = l_xml_table
       EXCEPTIONS
         OTHERS       = 24.
    This finished the first step-of-three. As mentioned before the next log will focus on the conversion from xml files (back) to abap tables.
    REPORT  z_xit_xml_dom_create.

  • Build a table based on XML data set with Spry

    Hi there,
    I'm new to spry technology therefore forgive any basic question of mine.
    I'm trying to fill content in a table based on XML data set values but nothing is shown :-(
    here is my code.... any suggestion? pls tell me where I'm wrong.
    Thank you in advance
    <script src="SpryAssets/xpath.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryData.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var uscite = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("data/Calendario 2011.xml", "csv_data_records/record", {sortOnLoad: "Date", sortOrderOnLoad: "ascending"});
    uscite.setColumnType("Date", "date");
    uscite.setColumnType("km", "number");
    </script>
    <div class="RankContainer" id="UsciteDiv" spry:region="uscite" >
              <table width="100%" border="0" class="RankTable">
                <tr>
                  <th width="10%" scope="col" spry:sort="Date">Data</th>

                  <th width="5%" scope="col">KM</th>
                  <th width="35%" scope="col">Percorso</th>
                  <th width="30%" scope="col">Breve</th>
                 <!-- <th width="15%" scope="col">Mappa</th>-->
                </tr>
                <tr>
                   <script type="text/javascript">
           var rows = uscite.getData();
        for (var i = 0; i < rows.length; i++)
         if (rows[i]["Mappa"].startsWith("/"))
          rowContent = "<td> si </td>";
         else
              rowContent = "<td> no </td>";

         document.write("<td>{Breve}</td>");
          </script>
               </tr>

    Sure this is how it should work (except that no anchor tag shall be present for Destinazione whereas Mappa has no real value in)

  • Multi-level nested tables for repeatable XML Elements

    Hi there,
    Suppose we have a XML Schema „ASchema“ like this (XMLDB schema annotations are left out for simplicity):
    <xs:schema xmlns:xs=" .... " />
    <xs:element name=“A“>
         <xs:complexType>
              <xs:sequence>
                   <xs:element name=“B“ maxOccurs=“unbounded“/>
                        <xs:complexType>
                             <xs:sequence>
                                  <xs:element name = “C“ maxOccurs=“unbounded“/>
                             </xs:sequence>
                        </xs:complexType>
                   </xs:element>
              </xs:sequence>
         </xs:complexType>
    </xs:element>
    </xs:schema>
    After registering this schema in Oracle, I can define a table like this:
    CREATE TABLE ATable
    id NUMBER,
    doc XMLTYPE
    XMLTYPE COLUMN doc
    XMLSCHEMA “ASchema“ ELEMENT “A“
    VARARRAY doc.“XMLDATA“.“B“ STORE AS TABLE “BTable“
    ((PRIMARY KEY (NESTED_TABLE_ID, SYS_NC_ARRAY_INDEX$)) ORGANIZATION INDEX)
    This creates a nested table "BTable" within the table "ATable". So far so good, I can use this nested table to gain faster access on every possible subelement of Element B when I set an appropriate index.
    I now want to create another nested table for element “C“ like this:
    DROP TABLE ATable;
    CREATE TABLE ATable
    id NUMBER,
    doc XMLTYPE
    XMLTYPE COLUMN doc
    XMLSCHEMA “ASchema“ ELEMENT “A“
    VARARRAY doc.“XMLDATA“.“B“ STORE AS TABLE “BTable“
    ((PRIMARY KEY (NESTED_TABLE_ID, SYS_NC_ARRAY_INDEX$)) ORGANIZATION INDEX)
    VARARRAY doc.“XMLDATA“.“B“.“C“ STORE AS TABLE “CTable“
    ((PRIMARY KEY (NESTED_TABLE_ID, SYS_NC_ARRAY_INDEX$)) ORGANIZATION INDEX)
    But this statement fails with the error message something like „ ... no such attribute ... „
    And here's my question: is it possible to create nested tables for repeatable XML Elements that are subelements of other repeatable XML Elements ? And if so, how can I do it ?
    Thank you very much in advance
    Jan

    Found a (partial) solution myself:
    If you add the attribute xdb:storeVarrayAsTable="true" to the root element of the XML schema, Oracle XMLDB generates nested tables for all repeatable XML Elements while registering the XML schema.
    Unfortunately, the names of these nested tables are system-generated, hence it's a bit uncomfortable to set indices on them. You can find out the names of these nested tables as follows:
    select table_name, parent_table_name, parent_table_column from user_nested_tables;
    Further information on that subject is supplied in the following thread:
    Re: default tables for elements with maxoccurs > 1
    It would be nice if there was a way to name the generated nested tables via appropriate XMLDB schema annotations.

  • Use of External tables to load XML data.

    Hi,
    I have used external table definitions to load various XML files to the database, usually splitting the XML into seperate records - 1 per major element tag, and using PL/SQL to parse out a primary key to store in a relational table with all of the XML relevant to that primary key value stored as an XMLTYPE coumn in a row of the table. This has worked fine for XML with a single major entity (element tag) .
    However, I now have an XML file that contains two "major" elements (both children of the root) that I would like to split out and store in seperate tables.
    The XML file is of the following basic format:-
    <drugs>
    <drug>drug 1...</drug>
    <drug>drug 2...</drug>
    <partners>
    <partner>partner 1</partner>
    <partner>partner 2</partner>
    </partners>
    </drugs>
    The problem is there are around 18000 elements of the first type, followed by several thousand of the 2nd type. I can create two seperate external tables - one for each element type, but how do I get the external table for the 2nd to ignore all the elements of the first type? My external table definition is :-
    CREATE TABLE DRUGBANK_OWNER.DRUGBANK_PARTNERS_XML_EXTERNAL
    DRUGBANK_XML CLOB
    ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL
    ( TYPE ORACLE_LOADER
    DEFAULT DIRECTORY DRUGBANK_DIR
    ACCESS PARAMETERS
    ( records delimited by "</partner>" SKIP 100000
    characterset al32utf8
    badfile extlogs:'drugbank_partners_xml.bad'
    logfile extlogs:'drugbank_partners_xml.log'
    discardfile extlogs:'drugbank_partners_xml.dis'
    READSIZE 52428800
    fields
    drugbank_xml CHAR(50000000) terminated by '</partners>'
    LOCATION (DRUGBANK_DIR:'drugbank.xml')
    REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED
    PARALLEL ( DEGREE 8 INSTANCES 1 )
    NOMONITORING;
    The problem is that before the first <partners> element the 1800 or so <drugs> elements cause a data cartrdige error:-
    ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    KUP-04020: found record longer than buffer size supported, 52428800
    This happens regardless of the value of the SKIP or the size of the drugbank_xml field.
    I have tried using an OR on the "records delimited by" access parameter, to 'delimit by "</partner>" OR "</drug>"', with the intention of filtering out the <drug> elements but this leads to a syntax error.
    Anyone ever tried anything similar and got it to work?
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Sid.

    No, the content inside quotes is spanned across multiple lines....there are line breaks after every html tag.
    "What's the error message you are getting?"

    KUP-04021: field formatting error for field TKBS_DSCN

  • What table stores incoming XML message

    Hi Gurus,
    Can anyone tell me which is the table where the XML of incoming messages are stored in integration broker. I am aware of the tables like PSAPMSGSUBCON,etc mainly give only the status and other information about the message; but I am interested in knowing where exactly is the actual XML stored in the database.
    -Sudripta

    OK. I did some testing with the data in PSAPMSGPUBDATA. Base64 is not involved anywhere. I did this against PT 8.50. I think PT 8.48 to PT 8.50 (the current version) would be the same. I looked at some code I wrote for PT 8.45 and it was very similar. The table and fields were different, but the compression, etc was the same.
    It appears that the data in the MIMEDATALONG field is compressed only (no base64, etc). I don't know the compression algorithm used. I used the java.util.zip.Inflater class to "inflate" the contents.
    About concatenating the "pieces"... I didn't have any large enough messages to see data chunking. From my testing, I saw that SUBSEGMENTNO of 0 contained the JMS header and IBInfo. SUBSEGMENTN0 of 1 had the XML message. It seems that the DATASEQNO field would contain an index for chunked data, but I didn't have any messages large enough to verify. For each SUBSEGMENTNO, I inflated them separately, not concatenated. I don't know if chunked data is zipped and then chunked, or chunked and then zipped. This will determine whether you concatenate data and then inflate or inflate and then concatenate.
    Here is my test code:
    import java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.ResultSet;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.Statement;
    import java.util.zip.DataFormatException;
    import java.util.zip.Inflater;

            id = rs.getString("IBTRANSACTIONID");

          String segment = rs.getInt("IB_SEGMENTINDEX") + "-" +
                         rs.getInt("SEGMENTNO") + "-" +
                         rs.getInt("SUBSEGMENTNO");
          Inflater inflater = new Inflater();
          byte[] result = new byte[rs.getInt("UNCOMPMIMEDATALEN")];
          inflater.setInput(rs.getBytes("MIMEDATALONG"));
          int length = inflater.inflate(result);
