Tables on top of text

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with tables in Pages 08. When I insert a table it inserts over the top of existing text. This wasn't a problem with this particular document until Pages crashed and had to be force quit. Am I looking at some kind of document corruption or just doing something stupid?

On my machine, tables are not inserted on top of text.
They are inserted as inline objects.
To change the status of a table, select it then open the Inspector of adjustment (maybe approximative name because I'm using the french version).
In the Inspector you will be able to trigger some radio buttons.
• Inline
• Floating
If you select floating (which seems to be your table's status) you will be able to check/unchek a box ruling the behaviour of the text around the table.
If you are afraid upon a possible corruption, you may archive your document's package as a zip file , attach the archive to a mail then send the mail to:

I would be able to look at the doc's internals trying to discover if something is wrong.

I think you need
.table-view .column-header .label{
-fx-text-fill: white;
}(with spaces between the class selectors).

In Table Maintaince G/L Text should come by default with G/L Acc.--Ple

I created Ztable with 3 fields G/L Acc, G/L Acc text and another Zfield.
I created a TABLE MAINTAINCE for this. Here we need, after entering the G/L A/C in table maintaince-- G/L Text should come by default. Please suggest a way do these.

You need to write the code in the EVENTS. these are avilable in the table maintanence. you can use event 05(create), here give the Perform name and click on the code button there you can write the logic to bring the short text and move that text to your Ztable field.

How to find the table fields of the text editors in the functional screens like MM03 --> MRP4 View --> Material Memo. Or how to upload text in the editors using ABAP program.

Hi,
Any long text will consists of the TEXT_NAME, TEXT_ID, TEXT_OBJECT and the LANGUAGE.
To find out these details you basically have to open the text in the text editor by double clicking on it.
And then go to the Header details in the Menu.
Here you will find all the relevant information.
You pass these details to FM SAVE_TEXT to save this text to database and you make use of FM READ_TEXT to read these texts.
The texts are basically stored in STXH and STXL tables.

Change Table control Column Header text dynamically

I have an requirement to change table control column header text dynamically.
i.e. I have about 10 columns in table control, out that need to change 5 columns header text. These header texts are stored in an internal table.
I had looked into the below link but could not get exactly how to do it.

What you will need to do is this.....
1. First replace the column Header Text box by I/O Fields and name them accordingly.
Say for example we will consider the same example which i had explained in the link.
there in the column header we want the header to change when some dates and entered into two fields which are out of table control say
Start Date: 01.01.2010 to End Date: 06.01.2010
Now we want the header to look like this,
Column No.    -        1               2             3                  4               5               6
Header label   -    01/FRI       02/SAT     03/SUN       04/MON     05/TUE      06/WED
Header name -    SPOTS1   SPOTS2    SPOTS3      SPOTS4     SPOTS5    SPOTS6
then you go as per the instructions in the link......

Have you loaded the master data attr ?
ECC Steps
then load the attr text
create the ztable using standard table using generic data source using table function.
there you can select the which field you required
check the data in RSA3
BI STEPS: -
check the source system connection.
replicate the data source
create of find the master data object for text (including attr)
map the transformation
run the info package
create the DTP.
check the data in target object.

Hit "Save as Adobe pdf" and pic came out on top of text box.

Win 7.0 64 bit, acrobat 11.0.10 word 2010, created a .docx file woth a pic and a tex box on top of pic.- hit Save as Adobe pdf and pic came out on top of text box.

Check DBA_TBALES view there you find one date column that indicate last update
One option is as follows:
(1) Turn the auditing on: AUDIT_TRAIL = true in init.ora
(2) Restart the instance if its running.
(3) Audit the table:
     AUDIT INSERT,SELECT,DELETE,UPDATE on TableName
     by ACCESS WHENEVER SUCCESSFUL
(4) Get the desired information using :
     SELECT OBJ_NAME,ACTION_NAME ,to_char(timestamp,'dd/mm/yyyy , HH:MM:SS')
     from sys.dba_audit_object.

Hard return paragraph breaks at top of text frames

I'm learning how to do book layouts in InDesign CS4 and I have a problem I can't figure out how to solve. I'm autoflowing huge chunks of pasted text into linked text frames and when a paragraph breaks (with a double hard return) at the same place as a new page/column, there is a blank line on the top of the text frame like so:
Is there a way to automatically make that paragraph break line go away when it comes at the top of a new text frame? My document is 400+ pages with many, many paragraphs. I don't want to get rid of the hard return spaces between all of them, just the ones that come at the top of text frames.

To expand slightly, space before and after are ignored at the top of a column or frame, but the empty paragraph is not.
You might want to try out the "Find/Change by List" sample script which fixes multiple returns along with leading and trailing whitespace and double space after a period (among other common problems). It's really just a chained set of Find/Change operations that can speed up the cleanup of new text.

Reg Embedding table into standard email text

Are trying to load thru flat file? If yes, you need to include one field for Language also. Fill the value EN for all the records.
If you are pulling the data thru R3, make sure that this field (Olangu) is mapped correctly.

Tables: Changing size of text globally

Hello all,
I am working in Indesign CS2 and I've come across a table that a previous co-worker had created and I need to change the text size in most of the rows in the table. Is there an easy way to do this instead of selecting each cell individually? Any help would be appreciated as I am working on this task right now.

Click in the table, then place the mouse toward the top or the left side (depending on which rows/columns you need to change), when you see the arrow click and that will highlight the whole row or column. Then you can change the text size in the character pallette.

Table in pages need text in a column to carryover to next page.

I created a table in pages and as I type, I have exceeded the length of the column. The text is hidden, how do I get it to carry over to the next page. I tired "insert" but the split column option is not available........ thank you

Problem described and answered several times.
A cell can't cross pages boundaries.

Text will NOT align to top of text frame

The text is low in the text frame even though the vertical justification is set to align TOP in the text frame options and the first baseline offset is set to Ascent in baseline options. There is no baseline shift or inset set and align to baseline grid is NOT selected. Any ideas how to fix it so the text is at the top of the box? Thanks!

@gtingley – did you try:
1. Copy/Paste the text frame to a fresh document?
2. Export as IDMS (snippet) file and place it again?
Just out of fun, did you try to copy/paste the text to a new text frame? Is a object format applied to the text frame? (Just fishing in the dark.)
