Tables pop to second page

I can not get my table to stay on the first page of its section (page 3 in the example picture). Whenever I put content into it it pops to the next page (page 4). Is there a solution for this?

Your tip actually worked well, after some digging with selections.
So trying to uncheck this setting was interesting. I was able to select paragraphs before, the table, paragraphs behind, and uncheck the boxes you mentioned. No sucess. I then used "Select All" for th while document and somewhere "Prevent Window and Orphane Lines" was still on. After unchecking in this instance as well, the table now breaks correctly.
Interesting that this setting now exists in this fashion. I'm not sure if this makes sense to find in the "text - format" controls only. I would have liked that for table-formats as well, especially since it is not clear if the setting pertains to complete rows or also paragraphs and lines inside a cell. Will try that some time...
And I still call this a bug, at least for the faulty import of older versions. I cannot tell if my older document had been created in Pages '09 or some earlier 5.x version; whatever was the latest version in 10.9.3 back then.

Table skips to second page when full

Hi,
I have a couple tables inside of subforms in my pdf. When the last table in the attached .pdf, 11. DESCRIPTION gets full enough, the cell under 11. DESCRIPTION, skips to the second page. I just want the extra text that won't fit on page 1 to skip to page 2, not all of the text. It should create as many pages as the text needs to fill. It doesn't seem to create the pages as needed.
Can someone help me out?

within your hierarchy window, select your table. now in your object window, in the table tab, select 'allow page breaks within content'. that should get you where you want to go. it will probably break at the affected row though. if you want the individual row to break then the table must be allowed to break before you can allow the row to break. follow? have fun.

Problem in printing boxes in second page

I have created a form to display item information.i have designed a table with box command in main window of the first page. In this table it has to print the item data.upto this thing its ok. Now suppose if the item data extends to second page main window, then there also it has to print the item data along with the table.But in second page the table is not coming. Anybody pls help me out regarding this....

plz check that u have copied the main page in to the secound page.
if u does'nt do this thing then
place u'r mouse pointer on the first page and copy it and then past it it will create a new poge,
then u can remove the contents u dont want to print on the next page , or u can also add any thing new on the next page

How do you get a table to flow onto the second page?

Since upgrading to Yosemite, I cannot figure out how to get my table to continue on to the second page. If you look at my screenshot, you can see that my table was so big so the whole thing was moved to the next page. I want it to remain on the 1st page and have additional rows continue on to the second page. In the previous version of pages, the column titles would also appear on the second page. Thank you very much for your help.

Go to View > Show Invisibles (Shift+Command+I).
This will display Paragraph marks (¶) at the end of each paragraph.
Delete the paragraph mark (¶) that is at the end of the paragraph before the table, i.e. just between the table and the paragraph.
This will bring the table surely just beneath the paragraph (text), I suppose.

Header row in a table is overlapping when it goes to the second page

Hello,
I have a header row in a table that I need to repeat on new pages if there is enough data to make it go to a new page. It is repeating on the second page, but when it does it all overlaps and is squashed to the left. It is 5 columns long and each column goes on top of the others to the left.
I am hoping someone might be able to help.

I am facing the same issue.
My table header has 2-3 rows of data...the data is populated dynamically. The text fields are set to expand, so I have to make the subforms to flowed.
As soon as I set the subforms to Flowed...evrything overlaps on the second page.

Smartforms error - no output of first line of table on second page

After pagebreak in a SF-Table there is no output of the first tableline on the second page. I get the output of the title-line an empty line and then the next line.
In OTF-Data I see the values but not in Print-Output or preview.
It´s only sometimes. I´m unable to build a test-construkt with the same effect.

When I click 'view' , I can "show inspector". From the table tab, I can pull up the "Format". [See below]. I don't see the "Arrange" or "Object Placement Move with Text"
Right now I have the Wrap Text On. When I take it off, It messes up my rows [see second image].
All I want is for my column to flow onto the second page.

Define the letter in the first page....if you think that the data is constant for the letter then define it in the secondary window itself and if you think its not then go for main window and in that table...
Now coming to the second page define the data in the main window and also apart from that define the third page also which should be same as second page....
in the second page set go to as third page and in the third page set go to as third page...

Table with break between pages but without big spaces

Hello,
I want to make a break in a cell of a table, that the text continues on the other page...
The Problem is, that pages leaves big space between tables, that break form one page to an other!
In Word there I have the option to admit a break in a cell!....
Is there a solution for Pages?

Common question, answered here many times in the negative. I'll offer you a workaround.
Highlight the row on the second page, containing the text that you wish to split, and from the Menu Bar select Format > Table > Add Row Below. Now highlight the lower portion of the text in your oversize cell and select Edit > Cut. If you cut the proper amount of content, the remainder will pop back to the previous page and you can Paste the text you cut into the new empty row. If the empty row also pops back to the previous page, no worry -- after you paste the cut text into it, it will move to the top of the next page.
Not pretty, but it may work for you.

Your problem will be cleared once you remove start_form and end_form as these are not necessary.we have to use start_from and end_from when we are operating on different forms.Presently we are operating on only no need to use this.
Once your problem is solved please close this.

Issue with last-page-first Body (header of second page repeating)

I am generating some invoice document and there is tax section at the end of document.Invoice can be one page document or it can be multiple pages document.I also have separate header and footer for first page and then for subsequence pages.
Assume that it is only one page and there is sufficient space left to display Tax tables. I am using

This approach works fine when document is more than one page. Moment I get only one page for my invoice it uses the header of second page.
I already tried <?start@last-page:body?><?end body?> tag but it moves it to the next page and I want it in continuation.

1.Check the Paragraph FOrmat . Character Format ( the smartstyle) that you have assigned to the last page.
2. if it is the Terms and conditons page , check the text module (SO10) and its corresponding SmartStyle (paragraph format,character format).

Report Server 10g - unexpected font change on second page of the report

Hi all,
I'm having a problem with Oracle Report server 10.1.2.3.0.
It's sometimes using an unusual font (It think it looks like a Greek one).
One example would be when a text overflow from page one to the second page it will change from Times New Roman to a "Greek" font and switches from bold to normal font it still happens in the same "Text" type item just on a new page. However when I update the text in the DB to a longer one so it flows through the whole second page to the 3rd page then it's using the correct font again.
When I open the generated PDF file in a text editor I see an unusual value in one of the font settings "/BaseFont /#53#79#6D#62#6F#6C" when I edit it manually to the value taken from another occurrence of the "BaseFont" in the same file it helps and changes the font to the correct one.
When I export the report to the PDF from report builder it's always using the correct font.
The encoded font "/#53#79#6D#62#6F#6C" translates to: "Symbol"

I noticed that this happens only when HTML code is allowed in the Text/field. When I generate HTML version of the report I see after the page break and new table on the new page the following tag <font face="symbol">. When I set Web Setting->"Contains HTML Tags" set to NO then font stays the same even after the page break.
Did anyone experienced something similar?

We have had this a few times before and there are 2 ways that most likley will fix this.
If on mac close all adobe apps, do a find for all files with the .lst in their file name. Delete all you .lst files, they are font database files that go corrupt and will regenerate themselves when needed and usually a working copy.
Close any multiple master fonts you have open in fontbook, and other utility such as Suitcase. Multiple master fonts will have a filename like "Kronos mm", and in the adobe illustrator type >> font menu i believe they have a different icon (possibly a mm) than the others {a(type 1), tt(true type), O (opentype)}
Your problem is likely the 1st option, as the mm problem usually happens while editing the file, while the other is after you open the file. If you still have the problem, you then may have 2 different fonts sharing the same FOND ID number. Close as many fonts as you can, especially the one that looks like your wrong font.

How to get the number of rows in a HTML table in some other page

I am incrementing HTML table rows on button click and saving number of rows in a javascript variable. But on submitting that page I need that number of row value in the following page
example:
HTML table is in the page first.jsp
and the javascript variable having the current row number is row_number
on submitting it goes to second.jsp page. There i need that row_number value.
Can anyone help me to solve this?

Issue in printing second page in smart form

in my smart form i have only FIRST page in tht i have pur order numberwindow, date window and all the item details in mainwindow. my problem is in my page 1 order number and date are getting printed at the exact position whre i want but when it is coming to the next page that is page 2 order number and date are going out of scope. I cant even change the position of those two windows as it is getting printed properly on 1st page.

Copy the first page and paste so as to create a second page, now give next page as this second page, and check, if there is any layout issue then make changes in this page, be careful as if you make any any changes, such as deleting some table or template or window in the copied [page it will get deleted in first page to, so only make changes to layout.
