Tables / Procedures not shown in SQL Developer.

Hi,
I recently downloaded SQL developer 1.5 and installed it.
The created few connections to the various environments I use.
Though this version does not work with 8i it works with 10g
The problem I' facing is that, under connections- the tables, procedures and packages all return blank. The tree structure returns nothing.
Where as I'm able to use the advance search and view the tables, and query the tables, by putting the correct schema before it. However in the tree structure it is not showing me any tables.
Can someone help me on this.
Thanks,
Thejas

  • HR SCHEMA FILES PRESENT BUT TABLES NOT SHOWN IN SQL DEVELOPER - PLS HELP

    Dear DBA's,
I am studying towards the OCA and working through the SQL Fundamentals I Exam guide text book by John Watson and Roopesh Ramklass. I have a problem with accessing the HR Schema tables in SQL Developer. I can get connected to the HR schema but no information is available when i click on the + sign next to the "Tables (filtered)" link in SQL Developer under Human Resources - BTW (I've downloaded Oracle 11G)
    Please help, I've tried the following already;
    1. Downloaded the HR Schema sample scripts again
    2. Resetting the Sample schema with this syntax in SQL PLUS - @?/demo/schema/mksample systempwd syspwd hrpwd oepwd pmpwd ixpwd shpwd bipwd default_tablespace temp_tablespace log_file_directory/
    3. I have no Master script file so I cant recreate the sample scripts
I've been reading forums and trying to Google but I am too new at this and just can't get the HR schema to display all the information in SQL Developer. Please help as I really badly need to practice the exercises in the text book.
Any help to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.

  • Tables are not visible in SQL Developer 3.0 Navigator but are queriable.

I have installed SQL Developer 3.0 and have connected to an oracle 11g db. I can see all the tables of all the users in the navegation pane when I am logged in with the system account. I can not see any tables in the navagation pane when I am logged in as a schema owner even though I can query the tables and get results. I have verified my schema owner is the owner of the tables by querying all_Tables where owner = 'MY_SCHEMA'
I can see the tables fine when using sql developer 1.5.5 on the same machine with the same login credentials. Is this a beta release bug or is there a setting that is incorrect?

The sollution is to grant the Schema owner select Catalog Role. Not sure why it is needed but it works

  • How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer?

    Hi,
I would like to know how can I show only the tables that I created under the Tables tree? I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. I see all the tables together, and would like to differentiate between different databases.
Can anyone explain to me how to do these things?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I would like to know how can I show only the tables that I created under the Tables tree? Your posting is not clear, again tell something more on tables tree, what u want to achieve with it.
How to hide system tables when using the Oracle SQL Developer? if u connected with sys, system or user with dba role then u have a privilege to see these tables,so revoke the privilege/role from ur user to view this tables if ur connected other then sys, system,
I didnt find a way to create a separate database using the Oracle Sql Developer. DBCA is a tool for creating the new database.

  • File- Print not working from SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13

File->Print not working from SQL Developer 1.2.1 Build MAIN-32.13.
I downloaded sqldeveloper-1.2.1.3213.ZIP and extract to a local directory. From the extracted directory I ran ..\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper.exe from Windows XP sp2. The program itself seems to run just fine but File-Print doesn't do anything. In Help-About, Java Platform is reported as 1.5.0_06 and Oracle IDE is 1.2.1.3213. I'm not sure where to look for what is causing the problem.
    Thanks

I hadn't tried CTRL-P before but I did today. On the first attempt, I saw a small jump in the memory usage for sqldeveloper.exe as reported in Windows Task Manager. Otherwise, there was no change. A second CTRL-P in the same session produced a further bump but subsequent attempts in the same session produced no further change in CPU or Memory Usage.
Using Task Manager to monitor this further, I tried File->Print again and saw that sqldeveloper would periodically climb to 1 or 2 percent CPU and consume a little more memory. After a minute or so, though, all activity stops again.
I do not get a print dialog box from SQLDeveloper using either CTRL-P or File->Print

  • Itinerary table is not shown in Expense Report (IFbA ABAP)

    Hi,
We're working in SAP ECC 6.0.4. We enter transaction PR05, choose a travel and click on Results button which opens the Adobe Form "Expense Report/Travel Expense Statement". In some cases the Itinerary table is shown but in others it isnu2019t shown even there is data in PTRV_HEAD table.
We've seen that the trips for which the itinerary table are not shown have the characteristic of not having additional destinations. In 4.7 the table is shown correctly (without IFbA).
How can we correct this problem?
    Best regards.

    Hi Varsha,
Please pay attention when you are requesting motnly period for
    start date : 1st July 2008
    end date : 1st july 2008
After saving the period is changed to
    Start Date : 7/1/2008
    End Date  : 7/31/2008
When you are requesting weekly period for the same interval, after sving the dates are changed again, according
you settings of first day of the week. It it is Monday it could be as following
    Start Date : 6/30/2008
    End Date  : 7/6/2008
So you are asking data for not quite the same period.
Do you have data for monthly period in that interval?

  • Desc not working in SQL Developer Version 1.1.3 Build 27.69

    Hi All,
I am using Oracle SQL Developer Version 1.1.3 Build 27.69
    select count(*) from abccount(*)
    100
using desc / describe table name gives error
    desc abcERROR:
ERROR: object abc does not exist
    1 rows selected
I am able to perform select on the table but not desc/describe. I tried suffixing with schema name , still the same error persists.
    Kindly provide a workaround
    Tnx

    Well 1.1.3 is quite old.
The best thing to do IMHO is to update to the latest version, it will also enable a load of new features and fixes.

  • Filter not working in SQL Developer 2.1

I have just upgraded to SQL Developer 2.1 and there seems to be a problem with filtering information in the Data tab. The filters I type in are simply ignored. Is there a setting somewhere that I am missing?

I am running XP Pro 2002 with SP3 installed.
    The DB information is below:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bi
    PL/SQL Release 10.2.0.3.0 - Production
    "CORE     10.2.0.3.0     Production"
TNS for Linux: Version 10.2.0.3.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.3.0 - Production
It will occasionally work when I first log in but generally stops working after the first filtered retrieve. From then on the filter line on the toolbar is just ignored. Entering incorrect sql statements does not produce any errors either. Once it starts it is consistent across all tables.
The filter option on the header of each column still works, that is the only reason I have not gone back to V1.5.

  • Georaster Raster Data Tables are not shown in SQLD 1.5 EA3 ?

    Contributors,
I am a newbie in Oracle mainly using the Oracle Spatial GeoRaster. There is a kind of table called Georaster Raster Data Tables (RDT) in georaster feature. I wonder how to properly set the latest SQL Developer (1.5 EA3) to show georaster RDTs in the connection / objects pane (left hand side pane) ?
My SQL Developer 1.5 EA3 does not show any RDT. Is it misconfigured ?
Previous versions in my machine (version 1.2.1 and 1.1.3) have no problems in showing RDTs.
    My platforms are :
    * OS : MS Windows Vista Ultimate
    * Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1.0.6.0) Enterprise/Standard Edition for Microsoft Windows 32-bit
    * JDK 1.6.0_06
    Please advise,

This is just a bug.I have logged bug #7025395

  • Table API Extension for Oracle SQL Developer

I just created small project [Table API Generator for Oracle|http://code.google.com/p/tapig/].
Idea is to only maintain tables and generate table API (TAPI) packages for data manipulation.
    Generated:
    - insert, update, delete, querying procedures
    - documentation based on table columns comments
Do you think it will be useful to have custom Table API Generator as extension for Oracle SQL Developer?

Never used them myself and quite legacy, but I'm sure there's still a lot of people using them and the basic idea is quite nice.
This would also qualify perfectly as a User Defined XML Extension for sqldev; little work but big results. Even if you were the only one using it, it would still pay off.
    Have fun,
    K.

  • Lineage relationship for HANA tables is not shown

    Hi,
We are using Information Steward version 14.2.1.220 and we ran Metadata integrator for SAP HANA. We are able to see the impact relationship for the tables but not lineage realationship. Some tables are populated from other tables by calling the procedures. But we are not able to see this lineage relationship.
Can anyone please tell the solution for it?
    Regards,
    Bhagyashri

    Bhagyashri,
At this time SAP HANA Metadata Integrator does not parse SQL procedure and so it cannot automatically establish relationship among tables which are populated by those procedures. You can create a user defined relationship to capture the table relationships in this scenario.
    Thanks,
    Hemant
