Tables without borders print with borders

I have had trouble getting right-aligned graphics to print
when I print my documentation. So I am inserting the graphics into
tables, which eliminates that problem. My new problem is that,
although I have configured the tables to have no cell borders and
no table borders, they print with a thin border anyway.

If you are defining the borders and shading in the Table
Properties, you might want to consider also using the regular
Borders and Shading menu option. They seem to both apply, and I've
found it more reliable to set the "normal" borders than specific
table borders.
Hope that helps.

  • Printing with borders?

    Hello forum,
I feel badly because I keep asking questions and am unable to answer any. Perhaps soon I shall find some ability to help.
So, I've got these business cards aligned on a template. Know that the digital file looks great - no borders whatsoever. Unfortunately, when I print, I get these 1px borders appearing for, as far as I can tell, no reason. In desperation I placed it in Microsoft Publisher instead and the borders still printed. Whatever the issue is it's not primarily an Adobe issue.
    Things to know:
Each business card is actually one jpg a client sent. None of the material is editable.
Adobe Illustrator CS4 on Windows Vista, 64 bit.
Has happend before on different computers on different occasions with different files.
Attempting to cover the border up with another filled object doesn't work.
Here's a scan of the issue I'm describing.

This is driving me nuts. Any help would be great.

Not sure how the original file was attained as it was just sent to me from a client.
Here's the file I'm working with. As you can see, no border anywhere.

  • Borderless printing in Lightroom 5--Mac Yosemite, Canon i9900.  Selected 8.5x11 borderless media, but LR insists on printing with borders.  Tried adjusting cell size and margins, but LR won't allow setting to zero.

LR won't allow me to adjust the margins below minimum values of about 0.25 in.  Borderless printing and 8.5x11 borderless media are selected.
LR also won't allow me to increase the cell size.  It seems to have a maximum of 8x10.68.
Aspect ratio of the image I'm trying to print is 8.5x11 so it should be a perfect fit.
When I print the same image in Photoshop, it prints borderless just fine on the same printer.
    Mac, Yosemite, Canon i9900.

I have had some more trials to print without boarders. This time, it was inside of iPhoto. I had made a greeting card and wanted to print to a custom size. but without the ability to select the size as a boarder less size, I was unable to print directly. So instead, I had to save as a pdf > save pdf to iPhoto and then print the image as a photo (instead of a card).

  • Aperture is printing  with borders even though the setting is off

Has anyone had this problem? All of a sudden Aperture is printing a fine rule when I try to print to Super B size. When I print the images letter size, there is no frame. Also, if I print the same image in Photoshop, I don't get the frame. I tried trashing my preferences but that didn't help. Could it be that I need to trash the printer preferences? Any help would be appreciated. I am ready to toss my machine out the window!

    Hi,
I can only speak of the R1900 setup, but this may be of assistance.
If you select straight Super B from the paper size dialogue in Aperture, it doesn't give you the option for expanding the print in the printer dialogue that you get in the printer driver. BUT... if you select the "Super B Borderless sheet feed" paper size, the controls in the printer driver for expanded printing become available.
Good luck - you may have already found this option. Bummer about not getting it right though - this A3+ paper is not cheap!!

  • Form ,Table with borders not printing in other Printers

    Hi All,
I am trying to print a smartform with original language as Arabic .
When I am taking a print out with Laser Jet printer , the table is coming with borders and everything is perfect .
But when I am trying to take out print with other printers ,Table borders are not showing up .
Please let me know the cause of this issue .

    Hi Joe,
You can check with your SPAD configurations.
    SPAD->Device Type->Attributes Tab
If its a dot matrix printer it won't print vertical lines. Different printers have different print margins. This could be also a reason as you are shifting different printer types  on the same smartform.

  • HTML Printing with JEditorPane table borders is missing...

    Hi,
My application prints HTML reports that was rendered on a JEditorPane,
actually the printing is working fine (almost)...
After reading a lot of posts and the Printing API i've found a very god aproach to print HTML documents... the DocumentRenderer:
    http://www.fawcette.com/javapro/2002_12/online/print_kgauthier_12_10_02/
I'm having a strange problem that I was unable to figure out by myself...
Table borders and table background images never get printed...
    ex: <TABLE BORDER=1 ...
    <td background="image.gif" ...
On the JEditorPane it shows just fine but, when the page is printed there's no border or table background pictures...
Everything else is printed ok including images, small fonts, etc...
Does anyone else had the same problem ?
    Thanks for any help

The borders present an interesting problem created by the way the DocumentRenderer class finds for printable Views in the HTML. DocumentRenderer searches recursively down the tree of Views starting with the Document's root view looking for leaf views, those with no children. The DocumentRenderer only paints these smallest chunks of text to the printer graphics context. This usually works because leaf views do not usually contain anything paintable.
The problem with borders is that they represent paintable areas of branch views, those with children. When we only print leaf views, these areas get ignored.
I see two logical solotions to the problem:
    I. Change the code of the recursive printView method of Document Renderer to print any border that intersects with the current printable clip rectangle.
II. A much more elegant solution would be to print any view, branch or leaf, that fits within the current printable area, and cease the recursion there. This would include the borders.
It would also increase efficiency by terminating the recursive method earlier by painting larger chunks of the HTML. A strange problem pops up when I try this, however. When the size of the chunk to be printed gets too big, nothing is printed at all. In the article this is mentioned in the area of large images. "Lastly, large icons do not print. Java simply refuses to render them on the page. Small icons work quite well, however." The same holds true for any large View.
I have not been able to quantify the exact size where this failure occurs, nor what is causing it. If anyone can tell me what causes this problem, it should be fairly easy, depenging on the cause of the problem, to rewrite the class to print borders and also does lots of other good stuff. I have already coded the new and improved printView method, but this size limitation has made it unworkable.
Simply stated, if I can figure out why the class does not print large icons, the rest should be easy.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kei Gauthier

  • Print cell borders- Numbers

I just started using the latest version of Numbers on Macbook Pro. I want borders printed around selected cells for ease of reading. I have tried suggestions found in help forum but NO borders print and do not appear in print view. I have tried on the toolbar and using the inspector. Help.

    Hi Daylene,
Is this the effect you're looking for? The image is of the top left quarter of the screen.  The Numbers document has a single Sheet, containing a single 4 column by 10 row Table. The visible data are cell addresses of cells in the table. Cells whose address is not shown are empty.
The view below is of the same document, but with one of the table cells (B7) selected, making the table Active. Active tables show their cell grid, and show the column and row Reference tabs.
The example started with a Plain style table no Header rows or columns). Cell borders were set in a few steps:
    Select the whole table
    Open the Table Inspector
Click the 'outside borders' button (highlighted) in the Cell Borders section.
Set the stroke thickness to None.
Click the 'inside borders' button (immediately left of the highlighted one above)
Set the stroke thickness to None.
Apple delivers a couple of excellent resources with the iWork applications—download links for each application's User Guide and for the iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide.
You'll find the link for the Numbers '09 User Guide in the Help menu in Numbers.
A search on 'cell border' should take you to an appropriate page, containing the article referenced in my reply above.
Reading the first few chapters of the Numbers '09 User Guide will also introduce you to Header Rows, Header Columns and Footer columns, the first two of which are likely what you're referring to as "the side and top bars." Cells in these rows have useful properties not shared with the 'regular' cells in the body of a table. You can have a 'plain' table without these rows (eg. the one in my example above).

    Barry

  • Copy cells with borders, colours etc

I am doing a financial reconciliation for several months of data.  I have formatted the first month - it takes 12 columns x 24 rows.  Various cells within this area have borders or colours assigned to them.  Now that I have the first month, I want to copy these 12 cells x 24 rows several times without losing the colours and borders.  But I cannot figure out how to do that...  The fill colours are copied - but none of my cell borders are copied.  This is particulalry frustrating because, for some reason, Apple have made the table border process incredibly clumsy and time-consuming...  For instance, when adding up a column of figures I want a single black line above the total.  To do this I have to:
         1.     Click on the borders button and change the default to bottom only.
         2.     Then change the line thickness from the default "thin" to a line.
         3.     Then change the line thickness from the default .25pt to 2 points.
         4.     Then change the default colour from pale grey to black.
I can't believe there isn't a simpler way to do this.  And I have to repeat this process for every cell - unless I have a few contiguous cells and can then apply the border to more than one cell in a single operation.
In my group of 12columns x 24rows I have to do 10 cell format operations as described above.  This is 40 - Yes FORTY - separate operations for each month.
I have three years, or 36 months, of financials - that will require 1,440 cell border operations!!!!!!!!
Perhaps no-one at Apple ever uses cell borders?  Or do they all use Excel?  I do have a copy of Excel somewhere - though I am very reluctant to dig it out and reinstall it for this task.
Perhaps I am missing something - but I cannot find any way to copy the borders along with the contents and formulas, either in the (admittedly almost useless Help system) or the PDF version of the manual for Numbers 9.
If anyone can suggest a shortcut for this I would VERY much appreciate it.
ps: Heaven forbid I want to make a change to the colour of the border - the way Apple have set this up, if I change the colour the borders are all reset to the defaults for all the other parameters.  So If I want to change the colour of a bottom border to Blue from Black, I have to:
         1.     Click on the borders button and change the default to bottom only.
         2.     Then change the line thickness from the default "thin" to a line.
         3.     Then change the line thickness from the default .25pt to 2 points.
         4.     Then change the default colour from black to blue.
    Really, this is woeful....

    Byron,
I berlieve that your difficulty with editing a previously set border is that you have made a border selection that is not sufficiently specific. When a selection includes multiple line characteristics, you will have to elimlinate the uncertainty. If on the other hand, you make a selection of a border that includes only one line type, weight and color, you can change any of those characteristics without touching the others.

  • Paint of Focus don't work on  Buttons  with Borders/or opaque Buttons! Why?

Hi, if I use the Metal Look&Feel Buttons with Borders (RaisedBevelBorder) never paints the focus, under the Windows L&F only raised TextButtons don't paint.
The default of true for the value FocusPainted is unchanged
and they are all in the FocusTraversePolicy (without Borders it works fine).
If you set Buttons or the surrounding panel with images or text opaque (without Borders) you face similar problems.
This may caused by the reason that the layer, which is needed for the paint of the focus is never painted.
But that's not the behavior I expected.
Has anyone a clue to solve this problem or is it a bug?
    Greetings Michael

Hi, I have modified your program a little bit to demonstrate the problem. Please replace the gif with any small image.
setOpaque doesn't make any problems -- sorry (The focus seemed to be consumed by my Background).
But the problem seems to be, if you shrink the buttons to their preferred sizes (That may the cause why the focus isn't so good visible, if you use pack).
In my example it makes no difference.
    Thanks for your help.
I'm looking forward to your reply.

  • Photoshop elements 12 prints asymmetical borders instead of borderless photo

Photoshop elements prints asymetrical borders on the sides of photos I am trying to print.  I have printed several (more than 20) photos with no borders with no problem, when suddenly I began getting photos with asymetical borders on the sides of the printed photo.  It looks fine in print preview but prints with these borders.  I have printed a photo with another program and this does not happen.  I have checked my settings and nothing appears to have changed.  I really need help with this.

In the print dialog, under "Select Paper Size", check again to be sure that the borderless option for your paper stock is selected.
Are the picture files accurately sized/cropped to conform to the paper size, e.g.. 4x6 image for 4x6 paper?

My boss assigned me a task that to get the ImagePreview of 1st page of PDF.
My thought is to print the 1st page of PDF to file(virtual print to file), and get the image source, but there comes the problem:

A PDX is a search database to allow you to do fast searching in
    Acrobat.

Effectively, yes. But the Acrobat SDK is mainly for working with
Acrobat. It's very important to keep this clear, since you have said
you only have the free Reader, so 95% of what is in the SDK cannot
    work for you.

Simply, there is no point asking these questions, yet, because you
have not started on the documentation.
But let's continue in the SDK forum, where I have posed what seems to
be a very important question about why print to file at all.
