Tableview Filter/Sort Always open a new window!

Dear experts,
I have came accross a weird problem. When user filter/sort function in a tableview, a new window always display automatically with the result. But the old page does not change accordingly. But when you use filter/sort function in the new window, it's fine.
I think this may because my old window is a ModalDialog window. It was opened using "
javascript:window.showModalDialog". When using filter/sort function, a real window rather than a dialogue appears with the correct result. But this is not what I wanted. I want to display the filter/sort result in the dialogue window, anything could solve this problem?

The easiest way to open new windows in Finder, Safari and just about any other program in Mac OS X is to use the keyboard shortcut, 'Command' + 'n'

Firefox lately always opens a new window

Whenever I click a link in firefox, whether I option-click it or right-click it and choose "Open in new Tab." Firefox lately always opens a new window, not a tab. For the life of me, I cannot get it to open a page in a new tab.
There was a time when I had one window open, and every time I would choose to create a new tab, it would create it in that window instead of the window I was currently in, but I have since closed that window, and now I cannot get a link to open in a new tab no matter what I do.
I have tried both selecting and deselecting "Open new windows in a new tab instead" In Firefox preferences, restarting Firefox in "Safe" mode, etc. to no avail.
How do I fix this?

There are other settings in about:config that might be causing that effect.

First link always opens a new window

I'm using Tomcat 3.2.3 and I have been unable to determine why the first link always opens a new window. From that point on, each hyperlink displays the page in the same window, as they should.
For example, my index.jsp page has a hyper link to the logon.jsp page. The logon.jsp page always comes up in a new window - even though the achor <a> tag is not setting any 'target'. It also doesn't matter if the first page is index.htm
I don't know if this is relevant, but Tomcat is running inside of Apache using the mod_jserv module. (at least I think it is.. I'm not sure how to tell... I followed the instructions at the Tomcat site and everything seems to load fine)

Can the "Finder" icon be set to always open a new window?

Can the "Finder" icon (on the dock) be set to simply open a new window every time when clicked? Instead of always selecting the dialog "new finder window" under "File" ? Or having to right clicking on the FINDER dock icon, then selecting "new finder window".
I'd like to simply click on the finder icon and have a new window just open every time.
Same with Safair. Simply click on the "Safari" dock icon, and a new blank safari window would open, instead of selecting "new window" under safari "File" menu.
I don't know if this can be set by setting a command via terminal, or ?
There are no options under preferences to do this.
Usually there is some "command line" done within the terminal app, to tweek most default settings, like what I want to do...?

This sounds like a frame busting issue, there is a parameter related to this in the web.xml, adding that to your search terms might give you some useful results

I did not change my Google settings. I always have had it set to open search results in a new window. Some time ago, it started opening up two windows that have identical url/content.

How do I make Finder windows always open in new windows?

Subject says it all - there used to be a preference for this in Finder's preferences, but it was apparently removed from Mavericks. I'm getting tired of having to right-click to open each new folder, and I adamantly refuse to allow a Finder window to represent anything more than one folder.

The default behaviour in Mavericks is to open folders in a new tab in an existing window, however this can be changed.
Unfortunately, it's not that simple. There's a very long topic on this change in Mavericks. Currently, there are only two ways to get Mavericks to do what the OP is looking for. That is, to have nested folders open in their own folder window instead of taking over the same open window when you double click it.
1) Hold down the option key while double clicking the folder.
2). If you hide all of the extraneous stuff (top and side bars) by pressing Command+Option+T, then nested folders will automatically open in their own folder window without having to hold any modifier key down. But the bars must be hidden on every subfolder in order for that work. Any folder with either the top bar, side bar or both showing will always open the nested folder in the same folder window instead of spawning its own.

#Double click the URL
#This would open the URL in a new window each time

ITunes Store Always Opens In New Window

My dad's MacBook Pro running 10.8.2 and iTunes 10.7 has this annoying habit of constantly opening the store in a new window. I've hunted and have found no way to prevent this behavior. Does anyone have any suggestions? Apple Support simply suggested deleting and reinstallng iTunes, which I'm almost certain would be of no help.

Pages always opens a new window on the wrong monitor

Is there anyway to fix this I don't understand why always open on the wrong monitor I can't seem to open on the correct one

OS X 10.8.4:
Drag the window back to the correct monitor and position it where you want it to open. Make certain that you actively save and close your documents before quitting Pages.
In System Preferences > General, check the box adjacent to Close windows when quitting an application.
Your Shutdown, Restart, and Logout dialogs should have the “Reopen windows when logging back in” unchecked.
If this does not correct the problem, select all contents (command+A) of the following folder only, and then use the right button to select the menu item, “Move to Trash.”
/Users/yourlogin-name/Library/Caches/
Also, drag the following file to the Trash as well:
/Users/yourlogin-name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
Empty the Trash. (You may have to reboot to fully empty the Trash.)
The next time you launch Pages, the application window will open where you want it.

Navigate to Web Page always opens a new window

Hi,
I am using action link "Navigate to Web Page" for column interaction. The source report is in a dashboard page and by clicking on this column should navigate to another dashboard page carrying some parameters.
It works fine but everytime it opens a new browser window for navigation. But my requirement is to make this navigation happen in the same browser window. Can anyone please help me with a solution on this?
My version of OBIEE is 11g.
The URL I am passing looks like this: http://localhost:9704/analytics/saw.dll?Go&Path=/Shared/Test/target&Action=Navigate&col1=@{1}&val1=%22@{2}%22&op1=@{3}

Did you check to have the results to be 'embedded in section' in your dashboard section properties?
