Tabs reloading whenever clicking on them!
Have safari open with 4 windows each with about 10 tabs open.
When clicking from tab to tab it completely reloads the tab. Am only clicking on the tab, and not right clicking and requesting reload tab.
This is really a hassle for 2 reasons - a delay each time I look at a web page on a different page, and secondly anything I have entered in any form is erased as the page reloads.
Have 8GB of memory and I have more than 5GB Free - So it is not a memory issue.
No other High CPU apps are running.
It not a matter of flash - same thing happens if I turn on or off Flash blocking.

Unless you believe middle-click is yours and don't like it being usurped, mine is set globally to "Enter".

Tabs reloading when I select them
I just upgraded to Firefox 13.0.1 on a Macbook Pro. When I switch to a different tab, the new selected tab reloads even though it was previously loaded. How can I disable this?
This can happen if you reopen a tab automatically and haven't visited the tab.

Can I get links to automatically open in a new tab just by clicking on them?
I've selected the option to: "Open new windows in new tab instead" from the options menu. For some time this seemed to open any link I clicked on in a new tab. For some reason this feature is no longer working and new links clicked on simply overwrites the current tab with the new page. I liked the feature of having links open automatically in new tabs. The option remains selected but it does not seem to be working.

Disable reload of restored tabs. Disable reload when clicked.
The question above may seem like two problems, but the issue is only one problem.
I have session manager and I want to use the cache to load my tabs when restored. Right now I have it where once restored, all my tabs don't reload on startup. Instead they reload when clicked.
Is there any way I can disable the reload portion when their clicked? I found no setting in session manager that disable this and I'm beginning to believe it's within firefox itself. I tried the tab mix restore option by disabling session manager and that also results in the same thing happening.Please help! This is a very annoying bug in the new firefox versions. I always had a lots of tab open and after restarted firefox they just loaded from the CACHE!
This is very important because:
- it's slow to wait for every tab to load when i click or all of them at startup, and in the 99% of the cases the page didn't changed, maybe just it's modified time since a php/asp page can change, but not the content, and the most importnat, that i didn't wanted to reload them.
- if i have a lot of login protected page than as i start firefox after my login session is over then it will reload all my pages and i totally LOSE every information. I will have only 30 login page tab....
I hope that there is a solution for that. Nowdays 1GB+ cache is not a problem so it can work with a lots of tabs. The only thing i can do now is to HIBERNATE my PC every time :( So actually i don't close firefox...
If there is no settings now, please implement a very simple "hibernation" hidden settings. But i think it's a very common problem, not just mine. -
So I keep trying to sync music to my iPhone from iTunes, and whenever I select the album the sync goes by really fast and nothing goes onto my phone. Then when I click "On this iPhone" it shows the songs, but they're grey, and I can't click on them. Help?
Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks. -
Often when I open Firefox, in the middle of a session it'll stop responding to my clicking on a link to open it in the same window. It'll show the url in the bottom when I hover over it but will do nothing when I click on it. It will only work when I either right click on it (then select open in new window/tab) or command click on it (opens in new tab automatically). I've noticed that it happens a lot when clicking on a link for a Google search result, but I know that it's not exclusively there, and it probably just sticks out more in my mind.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

The links are there. I can click on them. I'm just can not see what I'm clicking on. The info on the tabs comes back but only when I click on that tab. rebooting every 24 hours fixes the problem temporarily.

How can I get my bookmarked sites to open in a new tab by clicking on them, like the old Netscape?
Every time I click on a bookmark, it overrides the current tab. How do I get it to open in a new tab? Or at least have an option like the old Netscape used to do.
Bookmarks act the same as links on a webpage. If you want to open them in a new tab either right-click and 'open in a new tab' or middle-click (ie click with the scroll wheel).

I am trying to sync my ipod shuffle to the itunes on my computer. When I try to sync I go to the drop down file tab. PULL up "devices" But the extended options of SYNC, RESTORE, Transfer and Backup won't allow me to click on them. How do I activate?
Those menu bar commands are disabled when you do not have a device (your shuffle) selected in iTunes.
If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of iTunes) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, your shuffle should be listed under DEVICES. Click on it there to select it. Now, those commands under the File menu should be accessible.
However, once you have the shuffle selected, many of those "device-related" commands in the menu bar are also on the iTunes window. For example, there is a Sync button at the low-right corner of the window, which does the same thing as the command in the menu bar. -
If you have many tabs open (in my case 30 tabs), you cannot click every single tab with your mouse, you can only reach them by opening the tab list at the right.
You can create a folder with the home pages by using "Bookmark All Tabs" to open a specific page.
You can place that folder on the bookmarks toolbar or use the Bookmarks menu button that you can find in the toolbar palette to get access to that folder easily.
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
* "Bookmark All Tabs" can be accessed via the right-click context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

I am trying to print from iphoto to my printer. When I click print on under File tab it says that a theme cannot be found and that a theme needs to be intalled? Why is this window popping up and how I install a "theme" on iphoto?
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -
My ITunes is acting odd. I have to click on the tabs (ie Music) on the left a bunch of times in order to get to the screen. Also, I can't edit track names by double clicking on them. I downloaded the new ITunes as well. Any solutions? Thanks.

I can only create tabs by clicking on a link in an email or a program or a link in the window I am viewing. It will NOT create a new tab when I click on the tab to create a new tab, nor will it create a new tab when I right click on the tab & click on create a new tab. I'm used to using tabbed browsing all the time & it's driving me nuts. HELP!
I have not downloaded any new updates on any software or downloaded any new software in the hours before this started happening.
Just to clarify about my original question. I meant to say that firefox will create a new window when I right click & click on create a new window but will not create a new tab when I click on create a new tab. Jquery menu plugin integrated in Tab's (using a custom theme )
Hi,
I'm trying to use the jquery menu plugin and use it combined with tab's. I would like to get the effect which is also in the APEX IDE ( TAB's with submenu's expanding below the TAB ).
So far I have my tab's and also my menu's which are show as a button on the page which expand when you click on them. But I would like to have the menu attached to the tab.
I found somewhere (http://www.theapexfreelancer.com/apex/f?p=APEXFREELANCER:JQUERY_MENU_PLUGIN:0) that I should name the TAB and the LIST's on which the menu's are build exactly the same to achieve this, but so far no luck.
Does anyone know of a cookbook describing how to achieve this or has any ideas what to check ?
