Tabstrip in Theme Editor

Hi all - I'll try to explain this the best I can......within the theme editor, I'm attempting to create tabs that are one uniform color.  Somehow, I've created 2-tone colored tabs.  The 'Background Color of Selected Tab' is one color (which I've intentionally specified), but the remaining part of the tab is a different color - where this other color is getting pulled from, I have no idea.  There isn't an option under the 'Tabstrip' option (which is found under 'Complex Elements') to change this color, so it's coming from somewhere else - anyone have any idea where I can look?
This leads me to my second question - is there any documentation which explains all of the options/elements within the Theme Editor and what they affect?  I know there is a preview window which helps somewhat to understand what your changes look like, but it's lacking in an overall understanding as to what is affected, and where.
Thanks!
Steve

Those are images and you cannot change their color.  You can either upload your own images with the color you want it to be or you can upload a blank image.  If you upload a blank image then the tab will just look like a rectangle.
The triangles to the left of the tab are the starter images and the block to the right are the end images.

Clint

  • Unable to customise Tab (color) in Portal Theme through Theme Editor

    Hi Everyone ,
I m working  on Themes in Portal 7.0 . I have customised the theme but dont know why i m not able to customise Tabs (Color) .
Like When u click on System Administration ->System Configuration ->system landcape -> (There is second menu with Browse & Search ) and Overview of System Landscape pic in the Content area.
Here Browse / Search / Overview are still apperaing in black color  .. i want to edit these and give some background color to that panel as well

    Hi Shivani,
You would be able to change the colors on the tab by changing the following in the Theme Editor
    1. Old BSP Tabstrip under Component-Specific Styles
    2. Tabstrip element under Complex Elements
The first one is to do with your requirement of changing the colors of the tab shown in the standard portal iViews. The webdynpro tabstrips would respect the settings under the Complex Elements.
Well here's a caveat. Once you specify what colors you want for the tabs, you would also have to create images (Transition images, Starter images, End images) for the tabs in question so that they blend into the transitions smoothly.
    Hope it helps,
    Prathamesh

  • NWDS Theme Editor - Enhancement proposals

    Dear Theme Editor users,
Please use this thread exclusively to give your input on the following questions related to the Theme Editor in Netweaver Developer Studio:
    - What is your experience working with the Theme Editor? How could user experience be improved?
    - What are the pain points in the Theme Editor?
    - What are the enhancements in Theme Editor that you think will benefit you the most?
    Your input is highly appreciated!
You can download the theme editor from the following url.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/index?rid=/library/uuid/502e9e64-585e-2c10-b7b6-b3ba1214f06e
In the same page, there is a how-to guide which describes the usage of theme editor.

Theme editor is definitely a step forward but still need many improvements..
    1. The problem i face while recently editing theme was to identify the corresponding component in theme from which particular portal component is mapped. e.g. While changing tabstrip background color, I made background color changes to tabstrip, Tab Container in Pattern Container and Horizontal navigation Pattern. Still the background color of tabs Browse and Search under Content Administration->Portal Content refused to comply!!
Even using IE tool bar didn't helped in identify correct theme component. Finally after some trials, I found Old BSP pages under Component specific styles did the trick!..Of course had to use portal theme editor for that..
    2. NWDS theme editor is missing some areas of portal theme editor like Component specific styles, VC, Ajax FWK elements styles and Portal Outer frame. It would be great if we can change masthead and navigation styles from nwds editor.
    3. Themes saved from NWDS editor are not uploadable to portal. Its ZIP misses the portal.zip part. Somehow I feel NWDS editor was designed more use for Webdynpro rather than Portal themes.
    4. While uploading images, can't see the preview of currently uploaded image. Have to view it separately. It would be great addition if there's a facility of viewing current image in the 'URL of Image' placeholder in addition to browse button for uploading new one.
    cheers~

  • Theme Editor Enigma

    Hi all,
Theres some sections that I could not find how to change the color. For example. Even I change all sections where the TabStrip is mentioned I could not change the border color of the sections in the PCD objects and neither the background color of the breadcrumb when you open several related objects of the pcd.
    Regards,
    Orlando Covault

    Hello Radhika,
You could have a look at the link below for more details on the latest version of the theme editor based on eclipse. You could install the same on NWDS as well.
    /people/pradyut.sarma/blog/2010/06/01/brand-your-sap-application-using-theme-editor
You should also find the 7.11 version of the themes as a downloadable zip within the mentioned links.
    Thanks and Regards,

Can anyone tell me why the changes r not reflecting.
    Thanks
    Helpful solution will be rewarded.

    Hi Krishnpal..
Kindly delete the cookies, temporary offline files..
You need to save ur theme for two times after editing that theme, if at all not reflecting then you need to assign the theme again by using the master rule collection...
    Also
For checking, log out the user account and login again...
    Refresh..and check...
Even restarting server once too sometimes help...

  • Error while importing theme created with Eclipse theme editor

    Hi,
I am facing an error when I try to import a theme I created using the Eclipse Theme Editor plug-in. I created a theme and exported it. Then  when I try to import it, I get the error that "its.zip was not found in the archive". I check the exported zip file for theme and I see that there is only one zip file inside it "portal.zip". But if I export a theme from the portal, I get three zip files inside the archive - portal.zip, its.zip and ur.zip.
Can't I use the theme I created using the plug-in in portal? Are they meant to be used in some other context? Or is there any setting to be done on the plug-in to make it generate the zip files  - its and ur ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Ranjith

    Hi,
It is used to brand webdynpro. and its a stand alone tool.. no need of any plug ins....
This is the description I found under eclipse theme editor. its totally related to webdynpro.
SAP presents applications to users in the SAP Enterprise Portal (SAP EP). You can change user interface themes with the "Portal Theme Editor" that is part of the Enterprise System Administration role.
As some customers do not have the version of SAP Enterprise Portal that includes this Theme Editor , this version of the Theme Editor is offered as an unsupported, standalone tool from SDN.
The Eclipse Theme Editor can be used to brand Web Dynpro.
Comments and questions: Please use the Web Dynpro forum. Problems regarding the Eclipse Theme Editor reported via OSS will not be handled. As the tool comes as an unsupported version, bug fixes cannot be guaranteed in a timely fashion.
Release information: The Eclipse Theme Editor will be released for each SAP NetWeaver stack. Please note that you can only use the Theme Editor version compatible with the same version Web Dynpro (for example, the SAP NetWeaver Stack 9 Theme Editor is only compatible with SAP NetWeaver Stack 9 Web Dynpro). When you upgrade Web Dynpro to a higher stack, you must also upgrade the SAP NetWeaver Stack 9 Eclipse Theme Editor and your themes to the SAP NetWeaver stack on which your Web Dynpro applications are running.
here you can find how to edit themes in web dynpro using this eclipse theme editor..

  • Problem in Link size changes in theme editor of NWDS

    Hello All,
We have created a theme in theme editor and the link size has to be matched with the given specifications.
When trying to change the link size using Link Property - Standard Font Size to xsmall or any value such as 0.8 em, it is applied to all the other texts but not the links. Links are always in a slightly bigger font size.
Please note that the links which are under consideration are within a table.
The links outside the table are coming properly.
Please help us find a solution for this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Radhika

    Hi Radhika,
There is two properties in Global Style Sheets area
    1. Base Font size.--> it is under common
    2. standard Font size.---> it is under Text in GSS
if you change the Base Font size to X Small / XX Small the link size will be reduced but it will reduce the other UI element font
size as well to overcome this( increase the other UI elements size) problem you have to increase the Standard Font size upto
the requied font size is came to other UI elements.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhargava.

  • Themes not displaying in the theme editor

I have Presenter 7 running with PowerPoint 2007 on Windows Vista, and I am unable to see the themes in the theme editor.  It simply displays the loading screen that says Adobe Presenter.  I have run a repair on Presenter 7 and it still doesn't work.  Has anyone else seen this problem?
    Thanks,

    HI,
I realize this is a very old post, but I have the same issue and I cannot resolve it.
The TOC is truncated and causes scroll bars to appear when viewing the generated project in a Sun Solaris web browser on UNIX, Mozilla 1.7.  The rest of generated project displays and functions correctly. The TOC displays correctly in Firefox and IE.
I viewed Srishan's correct answer and all "height" references are already at 100% in the whphost file.
I'm at a complete loss........ any other suggestions would be truly appreciated!

  • Theme editor doesn't show - DesignManager must not be null error

    Hi,
I'm experiencing problem with Theme Editor & default portal themes. Problem was probably started by importing custom themes from older version of portal (current configuration is NW2004 SPS19, Java stack). I've tried many things - delete custom themes (at first from Theme Archive, then from themes Integrity browser (...irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.themes.integrity.browse) and finally I've found traces in the filesystem (I think it was .../irj/root/portalapps/com.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata/themes/customer)). So there should be no trace of custom themes in the system (as suggested in thread Theme Editor no showing content.), but the problem remains.
And there's more I found. We have 2 same systems installed on one server (both have own Oracle database+NW 2004 SPS19). The other portal works fine and without any problems, even with the same themes imported - it didn't create any error so I wonder if the problem doesn't lie somewhere else.
One more thing I noticed, which is different among these two portals, is the bahaviour of default themes - when I start ...irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.themes.integrity.browse on both portals, the one which works, has also its and portal subnodes under every theme from SAP. On the other portal, only one theme shows all - the sap_chrome. Other themes contain only ur subnode. I've tried to compare filesystems of both portals (but only directries which I found through search for "sap_tradeshow"), but I haven't noticed any differences. What else could be different?
I tried many things, but without any effect. Could anyone help me, please? I'm running out of ideas and thinking about reinstalling the portal, which isn't prefereble solution.

    Hi,
It's really hard to say, where's the problem. I think you should reinstall it..., probably some components of your EP wasn't installed correctly.

  • Theme Editor: where to change backgroundcolor of editable table cells?

    Hi all,
I need to change the color of an editable table cell.
I navigated to the theme editor --> tables. There is a section "Editable Tables". The preview shows an example with three columns and tree rows. I want to change the backgroundcolor of the cell in the first row, third column (in SAP standard it is lightgrey).
The backgroundcolor of the rows beneath can be changed in section "Selected Cells", the backgroundcolor of the first two columns in the first row can be changed by "Background Color of Standard Table Cell" but I can't find the field where I can change the color of the last cell.
    Best regards,

The blue color come from your definitions on "Labels and Fields" to read-only color of input field.

    hi
if you are using EP 7.0 , you may have go to Visual ADMIN , in the configuration adapter , there
is PropertyStyleSHeet , there is you can find webdynpro property ,
Re: Trouble with Appplication after modifying WebDynpro Theme
you can go through this thread ,  if you are using CE 7.1 you have to navigate to NWA
configuration management , infrastructure , application modules , tp~wdpa ,  search for this
and then  in the properties you have provide the Custom theme name you have created .

  • How to remove background image in Theme Editor

    Hi there,
In Theme Editor > [theme] > Portal Body  there is the option for background colour as well as background image. I had a background image declared before and would like to remove it again. If i write "none" the theme won't save (script error). I can't find the reference to the image in the theme.zip either. Thanks four your help.

Thanks, Benjamin, I'm aware of that. But this solution is rather bad on performance. We run an FPN with our Intranet, xAPPS and BI. Now imagine all the background colors and background images loading one after the other before you can see the application. This happens regardles of whether they are empty or transparent. In IE it flickers and flackers about ten times and takes 10 seconds before you can carry on with your work. That's suboptimal.
