TACACS+ Server not logging events.
Hi all,
I am having an issue with the tacacs+ server not logging login requests or commands entered. I am running the tac_plus.F4.0.4.alpha release that cisco provides for free on a mandrake 10.1 linux box. I am able to use the server to authenticate logins to the routers but it is not logging those requests.
Here is the config I used on one of our routers.
aaa group server tacacs+ prego
server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
aaa authentication login default group tacacs+ enable
aaa authentication enable default group tacacs+ enable
aaa accounting exec default start-stop group prego
aaa accounting commands 15 default start-stop group tacacs+
aaa session-id common
ip subnet-zero
Also here is a sh verion

If you are able to authenticate via TACACS I would believe that this indicates that there is not a problem with your configuration of the TACACS server(s) (addresses are correct, keys are correct, etc) and that the TACACS server recognizes the router ok.
So I assume that either there is some problem on the router generating the accounting records. Or that there might be a problem on the server and receiving and processing the accounting records.
As a next step in investigating this issue I suggest that you run two debugs on the router:
debug aaa accounting
debug tacacs accounting
While the debug is running have someone access the router and login, access privilege mode, and execute several commands. Then post any debug output.

Using sun appserver 8.2, and the application is using log4j for a separate log file (other than server.log). The problem is that [%t] (which gives the thread id) isn't giving a thread no. I just get [service-j2ee].
On another box (running the same app, and version of the app server) I get [service-j2ee-3] (or whatever thread number it is).
Where is the t variable configured?

New Server - Not Getting Event.Data back
Its a weird problem i'm having. I've setup a brand new server (Original was a shared hosting setup from godaddy).
I'm using my same application
And i'm not getting event.data info back (in XML form)
Here's an example:
private function onUploadCompleteData(event:DataEvent):void {
updateStatus(event.data, _numCurrentUpload - 1);
var x:XML = new XML(event.data.toString()); <---- NOT FIRING
Application.application.upAvatar = "/profile/" + x.name;
Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking it could be a misconfiguration with my apache settings.
I'm using:
Ubuntu
Apache2
PHP5
CURL
Thanks..hi,
have you placed a fault event handler on your request to see what error if any is being returned ?

PIX AAA To tacacs server not reliable
I've got a couple of different platforms of PIX, 535s and FWSMs mainly all running the latest code. I have them all configured similarly with regards to AAA via tacacs:
aaa-server TACACS protocol tacacs+
aaa-server TACACS host <Removed> key <removed>
username <removed> password <removed> encrypted privilege 15
aaa authentication enable console TACACS LOCAL
aaa authentication ssh console TACACS LOCAL
aaa authentication telnet console TACACS LOCAL
aaa accounting command TACACS
Now, sometimes I can get in with my tacacs account but other times I have to use the local backup account. There seems to be no reason behind it. My routers all pointing to the same TACACS server have no issues like this. The PIX's however are totally unreliable in this regard.
Anyone experiencing this?Hello mlipsey,
This shouldn't be. Do the ACS logs reveal anything? What about
debug tacacs
debug aaa authentication
Can you send 1000 pings to the tacacs server from your FWs without issue? Any packet loss?
Hope this helps! If so, please rate.
Thanks! -
ICal server not sending events older than 10 days
Have just discovered an issue with our iCal Server that I hope someone can help me resolve. It seems that sometime in the last few days, or past week. the iCal Server (running on a Snow Leopard Server 10.6.8 setup) has stopped sending out any events older than 10 or so days for 6 of the 7 calendar calDAV accounts that we all subscribe too. All future events on each calendar appear to be visible. The situation is consistent across of all of our Desktop's, MacBook Pro's and iPhone's so it is not localized to any single machine. It is also consistent when I subscribed through a third party calnedar application (BusyCal).
I have gone into the ~/Library/CalendarServer/Documents and although I could not access the folders directly, I did copy the folder and its contents to another hard drive where I was able to view what was inside. It appears that all of the individual event .ics files for each account are in their respective subfolders, but they are not being served out to the subscribers.
Any ideas on how to get these older events to become visible again would be very much appreciated. I am not very well versed on this type of thing and am learning on the fly.
ShawnI'm having this same issue and I'm really ticked off.
When I upgraded today, I received a message saying that because I had so many events in the past that it would take longer to upgrade everything. It said that all my current and future events had been updated, but the past events would be available in 1 hour. Well, it's been a lot of 1 hours since then and nothing. All my events have been deleted from my MacPro, MacBook Pros, and iPhone. I'm holding out hope for them to reappear in the morning.
I know this isn't part of this thread, but I thought I'd throw it out anyway. Why are my subscribed calendars NOT visible online. Apple made an announcement in the past celebrating the ability to view subscribed calendars online when they once could not. Now with a new ADVANCEMENT, we've regressed and I cannot view subscribed calendars online. I hate to break it to Apple, but I use these subscribed calendars in my scheduling and planning, too. I still need to see them online just as I do on my computer and phone. So with all the updating and wonderful features, the lack of this one makes MobileMe online calendars useless to me and others.
One step forward, two steps back. -

Hello,
We are using wls 10.3.3 located in different unix machine. Using putty we work with the servers from the desktop computers. We want to monitor the JVM using Jrockit mission control from desktop. We have JRMC installed in the Windows XP desktop(JRockit Mission Control 3.1.0 (R27.6.3-40_o, 112101)). I tried to connect the JVM to JRMC using the steps in the below links.
http://weblogicserveradministration.blogspot.com/2010/10/monitoring-using-jrmc-remotely.html
http://multikoop.blogspot.com/2009/11/wls-monitoring-oracle-jrockit-jvm-with.html
And restarted the AdminServer after performing the steps, but we are not sure whether we have edited the JAVA_OPTIONS in the correct place. However the AdminServer did not start. It said the Java Virtual Machine cannot be started. Now we removed the edited settings in startWeblogic.sh file and made the file as before. And restarted the AdminServer, but the Adminserver did not start and showd below error message.

fiHi, where exactly in the file I need to change the settings : oracle/Middleware_1033/user_projects/domains/dev_domain/./config/jps-config.xml . I might have changed the script startWeblogic.sh, but I undo the changes again, since then my admin server is not starting. Kindly help. I am not sure which script I need to change and in that script which location I have to edit?
I have used below link for help(under the section L.3.4 Other Causes), still I am not able to find anything useful from the link.

Integrated Weblogic Server not starting
Hi
I have installed Jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.5 on Linux 64 bit machine.
It was working fine till one day I got some errors about disk quota exceeded and Jdeveloper stopped working. I removed some unnecessary files so that there was no dearth of space and restarted the debugging but since then Integrated Weblogic Server is not starting. Below is the log in /home/<username>/.jdeveloper/system11.1.1.5.37.60.13/DefaultDomain/servers/DefaultServer/logs/DefaultServer.log:

Can anyone please give some ideas?
Thanks
Abhishekwhat is the deployment issue that you are facing...
system folder or DefaultDomain deletion should be - a Last Resort option...
if there is a deployment issue.. then there might be some corruption in these files.. may be you can chk that

CSACS TACACS Server 5.0 Timeout and Latency
Hi,
I have successfully configured a new Linux based Cisco Secure ACS server (version is 5.0.0.21 and Internal build: B.2757) and integrated it with AD. Both the internal users and the AD users are authenticating ok and are successfully logged onto the end devices on privilege level 15. The issue that I am getting is that for some strange reason AD users are taking too long (approx 38 secs) to get authenticated/authorised etc. Infact this was causing authentication issues previously as the tacacs timeout on the end device was set too low and thus the TACACS server response was timing out. I rectified this by increasing the TACACS timeout to around 25 secs which then resulted in successful TACACS authentication/authorisation.
The high response time is however very frustrating. We have an existing Windows based (4.2) TACACS server and when I point my end devices (routers, switches) to this old server it takes only a few seconds for authentication but with the new ACS server it takes close to 38 secs. I am suspecting it might be to do with AD integration as the internal users on the new server are working fine. There are no latency or networking issues with the new server as the pings are looking ok.
I have pasted my debug tacacs output obtained from the end device below. The first is with the new server (y.y.y.y) and the second is with the old (working) server (x.x.x.x) :

1) 10.2.100.100 is a dummy IP to be sure we have a correct test scenario :
tacacs-server host 10.2.100.100
tacacs-server host 10.2.17.203
2) We have defined 2 testswitches with this config :
C3560 (12.2(53))
C3750 (12.2(55))
with our 3560, it hits the timeout counter of 5s of the dead tacacs server, once logged in, all other tacacs commands are treated by 10.2.17.203
Failed connect attemps raises by 1
with our 3750, with each tacacs command, it hits the timeout counter of 5s of the dead tacacs server everytime, before going to the 10.2.17.203, so all commands are executed but each time with a timeout delay of 5s.
Failed connect attemps raises by number of tacacs commands typed
Many thanks,

Tacacs+ server dead issue
Dear Cisco Guru's,
tacacs-server host 10.2.100.100
tacacs-server host 10.2.17.203
We have 2 tacacs+ servers defined in ACS 5.2. When putting 10.2.100.100 down, tacacs authentication continues to try to authenticate to the dead server, how is this possible ?
Normal behaviour should be going to the second (10.2.17.203) after the first Tacacs+ server timeout (default 5s).
Tacacs+ Server : 10.2.100.100/49
Socket opens: 15
Socket closes: 15
Socket aborts: 0
Socket errors: 0
Socket Timeouts: 0
Failed Connect Attempts: 85
Total Packets Sent: 0
Total Packets Recv: 0
Tacacs+ Server : 10.2.17.203/49
Socket opens: 166
Socket closes: 166
Socket aborts: 0
Socket errors: 0
Socket Timeouts: 0
Failed Connect Attempts: 0
Total Packets Sent: 195
Total Packets Recv: 195

Hi,
We are using Stellent Content servers. Web version of log files are available in <Instance>/server/weblayout/groups/secure/logs/
server logs these html files automatically.
My question is.., Can we configure server to log events in a single html file, without creating a new file for everyday.
Any help would be appreaciated.
ThanksWe now understand that it's a brand of hub provided by a certain ISP. Nice of them to have mentioned it.....
