Tagging videos within the clip.... (database?)

I've been looking for software/plugin associated with Premiere 5.0 that allows me to do the following:
1)  Tag a portion of a video clip, for example a person's name (Basketball player) and/or the name of the school he attends.
2)  It notes the name of the tag(s), as well as time in and time out.
3)  Preferably stored in a database (one that I create and maintain).
With that information, my hope is to be able refer to a tag and have every instance of this tag show in a list, and from there I could string any number of them together to create a file of those clips or even burn to a DVD.
There is stand alone software that exists, such as XO's and a couple of others, but they are all geared toward big budget college and professional programs.  I have invested in Adobe CS5, and while I didn't do it thinking I would have that capability, it would be great to have without dropping another large chunk of changes.

OnLocation would theoretically do (most of) what you want--but unfortunately, it won't in practice. You can add Comment Markers that are tied to a specific timecode of a clip--I don't believe they could be used to set and select clip ranges, but you could ID specific clip sections.
The problem is, they don't transfer to Premiere Pro. This makes them a little worthless, in that case. According to the help doc:
Note: Comment Markers appear only in Adobe OnLocation and After Effects.
D'oh. I presume this is because clip markers in PPro are not able to contain any usable text information--they're simply flags. If clip markers ever gain this ability, perhaps the information would transfer over. A feature request wouldn't hurt: Adobe Feature Request/Bug Report Form

  • How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?

OK...this is a probably a very basic question but I'm not sure how to word it clearly.
How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project? What I mean is that I have a bout 50 minutes of video and I want to make two DVDs using different clips from this original 50 minutes of footage. It would be a real pain to have to re-import the video AGAIN for the second DVD. I suppose I could drop anything I don't want to burn to DVD back into the clips pane but that would wipe out all my transitions wouldn't it? I want to save each project in their “raw” form so I can burn additional DVDs later otherwise I would just do them one at a time and not care about one of them being destroyed.
Wow...that was a mess. Does anyone understand what the heck I’m asking? I hope so.

How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project?
You can't. You make separate projects using the same or different clips, segments, transitions, titles, etc. You can even duplicate the first project and then modify/make the desired changes in the duplicated project. Each project can then be burned as a different DVD or as different titles on the same DVD if there is enough room.

  • Is there a way to track the time within the clip (not sequence) that you're in?

Let me try to explain this as best I can and make sense.
I watched a video clip and I liked everything from, let's say the :30 mark to the minute mark. So, I import it into Premiere.
However, when I put it at the end of the next clip, it shows the time for the whole sequence. Now, I know that I can do the math, but is there a way to show where the 30 second mark (in this example) is by avoiding doing the calculation? It's do-able, but seems a little tedious.
Would like to "reset the clock" so to speak when working on individual clips within the timeline.

Choose the edit points in the Source Monitor before inserting to the Sequence.
You can see the duration of the In and Outs in the Monitor .

  • How to change the date (metadata) of a video within the organizer ?

    Hello,
From what I observe, when importing a video file produced by Premiere Elements in the Organizer (v12 or 13), the organizer gives it the current date. I can then change its date in the organizer.
But... the organizer sets the new date in its database, but does NOT save it in the file itself (I have double checked). The result is that if, for instance, I then ask the organizer to update the video's thumbnail, the updated date is lost and automatically comes back to the import date, which is really weird.
Question: is there any way to force the Organizer to update the date in the metadata of a video file ???
    Olivier

Hi René, there is unfortunately no solution within Permiere Elements or the Organizer, and the recent 13.1 update didn't change anything. BTW I really wonder what that update did change, since I know a couple of other bugs that haven't been fixed, too. Well, actually, I should now know that Adobe never fixes bugs, they consider they are features. Anyway, I have found a turnaround to the problem. I have installed a small utility named "Attribute Changer" (www.petges.lu) that adds an option "Change file Properties" to the Windows Explorer. This utility allows me to change the creation and modification dates (you need to change both dates) of the videos BEFORE importing them into the Elements Organizer. And then everything works fine, forever. Olivier

  • How do I search for all "missing" tracks within the iTunes database?

I found the dreaded ! of death, and sadly I verified the tacks indeed are not on my hard drive.
Is there a way to sort on this tag so that I can see what else might be missing on my hard drive but remains in the database (sort of similar to how you can search for all tracks that have missing artwork)?

    Thanks.  It works perfectly.

  • How do you change the background color not of the video clip, but the background the clip is on?

How do you change the background color upon which the clip resides...
I don't want to change anything within the clip itself, but the matte(?)
from black to white or cream.
I am working with Elements 10...

Create a color matte of the desired color and place it on video track 1.  Then place your video on track 2.
from here: Adobe Premiere Elements Help | Creating specialty clips
Create a colored matte for a background
You can create a clip consisting of a full‑frame matte of solid color, which you can use as a solid background for titles or animated clips.
Brightly colored mattes can serve as temporary backgrounds to help you see transparency more clearly while you adjust a key effect.
    Click Project Assets.
In the Project Assets panel, click New Item from the panel options and choose Color Matte.
Choose a color in the Adobe Color Picker dialog box, and click OK.
A color matte clip is placed into both the Project Assets panel and the Expert view timeline.

  • IOS 6: Upgraded 4s to the new OS and now videos within apps like Pulse and Safari have no sound. Checked notifications and options, restarted phone, still no go...

I upgraded to iOS6 last week, and everything seems to be working well, except for audio playback within certain apps. I was wondering if this is in any way linked to the removal of youTube from the standard software. Within my news apps and Safari, I have absolutely no audio playback on videos. I have refreshed the 4S, restarted, and checked notifications, but no progress has been made. However, the sound is just fine elsewhere, including the youTube app, which I downloaded to troubleshoot. As of right now, if I search for a video within Safari, and it links to an embedded video, I get no sound whatsoever. If I pull up the same video within the youTube app, the sound plays just fine. Any ideas?

  • Any way to know where a clip came from within the source clip?

Using Premiere Pro CS4, Version 4.2.1, on an i7 based PC.
I would like to be able to see where a clip on the timeline came from within the clip in the source monitor. Where ever there is information about the clip on the timeline, it only seems to tell me it's 'Start', 'End' and 'Duration' in relation to the current Sequence, but nothing relating to the 'In' or the 'Out' points within the source clip.
Is it possible to read this somewhere, rather than having to replay the clip in the source monitor to discover the in and out points? It tends to be tedious doing this too often.
    Thanks in advance, hopefully.
    Peter.

    Awesome sauce Shooter

  • Incorporating external sound within a clip without re-encoding

I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than me can save me a bit of time. If Premiere is not capable of doing certain things (see below) then I won't have to vainly search through the manual to find how to do them.
    1. Can Premiere automatically align a sound clip that was taken with an external recorder, to the sound already inside an AVCHD clip? A TV cameraman I was talking to recently said that FCP can do it. For a particular clip, he just highlights a series of sound files (if I understood him correctly) and FCP chooses the right one and aligns it to the existing sound.
    2. Can I import a clip in AVCHD format (taken on a GH2), remove the existing sound track and replace it with another (for example, as above), and save again as AVCHD, without the video part being re-encoded? What I want to do is store the externally recorded sound files within the clip instead of having them as separate files. Simplify my archives.
I don't need instructions how to do the above, I just want to know if it is possible, and what technical terms to look for in the manual.

Thanks for the responses, but I'm still not clear about what is and is not possible. I've got the full Adobe suite, so if any of the software included in the suite can automatically sync sound, please let me know.
    1. Jim Simon responded that it might be possible to sync sound if both clips have identical timecode. Well, my recorded sound does not have timecodes, so does that preclude Premiere from automatically syncing external sound to internal AVCHD sound?
    2. Dave Merchant suggests third-party software for (2), the demuxing/remuxing. That's sort of okay, but I'd rather stick with Premiere (if possible) or FCPX (if I have to). So, does Dave's answer mean that Premiere is not able to replace sound inside an AVCHD clip without re-encoding the video when saved?
    3. Jim Curtis suggested PluralEyes. Looks good for automatic syncing. But it means another piece of software, and for $100 extra I can buy FCPX. He also says that FCPX has this function built in (I assume he means auto sound syncing).
I'm left with this (correct me if I'm wrong):
A: FCPX and PluralEyes can automatically align sound files. Premiere cannot.
B: FCPX and Premiere cannot, without re-encoding when saved, align and replace the audio in an AVCHD clip. For that I need other software.

  • Beginners question - making sense of form, item, pane & variable (with relation to where data is stored in the SQL database)

    Hi Everyone,
I am new to writing reports (SQL code) for SAP, however I am aware that inside SAP Business One it is necessary to enable System Information (from the View menu) in order to see which tables (and related table attributes / column names) are related to various aspects of the various SAP 'modules' (e.g.: A/R Invoice).
Using an A/R Invoice as an example I can see at the row (or line) level that an item with the description of 'Opening Balance Transfer' is contained in the table INV1, within the attribute (or column) called Dscription.
However not every 'on screen object' shows a table / attribute. For example in the same A/R Invoice if I hover my mouse over the Balance Due field all I see is Form related information.
My question is 'How do I make sense of the Form, Item, Pane, Variable information?', with relation to where data is stored within the SQL database?
Links to online tutorials explaining how this feature of SAP Business One will be much appreciated, along with any personal advice regarding working with this information.
Any (and all) help will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    David

    Hi David,
1.Here I am explaining use of each field except pane
    a. Form ---> Used in additional authorization creator
    b. Item, column--->Useful in creating Formatted search queries (FMS)
    c. Variable --> Some of the field values based on another values. ie. indirect values.
    d. INV1---Table name
    2. How to get variable?
As per your second attachment, to get balance due ,you need doc total field from OINV table. For example,
    SELECT T0.[DocNum], T0.[DocTotal] FROM OINV T0 WHERE T0.[DocNum] = 612004797

  • IPad 2 playing of all music videos in the folder is not possible. You can play a music video (all purchased from iTunes) but once is finished you have to manually select another one. This defeats the whole concept of having a music video library

How could we play all music videos within the music folder in the iPad2 ? In other words, select all, choose random, and click play and all music videos will automatically play upon completion of the one been viewed without the user having to deselect another video manually (annoying interrupt).
Currently you have to choose each music video and upon completion choose the next one manually. That defeats the whole concept of a music video library.
This does not happen on previous iPad or MacBook Pro iTunes!!!!!
    Very annoying.

  • Hw to find the tables in the Portal Database

    Hello,
I'm new to this Portals. I would like to know where the database tables stored in Portal Database. We are using the Oracle as the database. Can you please tell me where can I view the database tables.
    thnx in advance
    cheers
    murali

    Hi Murali,
they are stored in a database which has the same name as your instance, for example J2E. KMC tables (most of them - if not all - starting with "KMC_") are stored within the same database as the portal tables are (this wasn't the case for EP5 and EP6 SP2 on 6.20).
Anyhow, you shouldn't touch or trying to access these tables directly. Two reasons for this: (a) there are APIs for (almost) everything which can be accessed from the DB tables, even if sometimes not documented. Anyhow, the DB schema isn't documented, too, so you should choose the "upper layer"; (b) the DB schema is subject to change without notice (and this is also done regulary); whereas the released (=documented) APIs are stable and the non-released are at least quite stable, too.
    Hope it helps

  • Cannot display videos within Connect on iPads

    Howdy,
Testing for a 30 iPad deployment. Ultimate goal? display embedded videos within a PPT file. At this time, I'm testing as a presenter on a PC. I have uploaded several of the same video file in different formats (.mov, .avi, .mp4, h.264, .mp3) with 640x480 15 fr settings. When embedded in the PPT, none of these videos will play within the shared document. When I attempt to 'share' the video via the Pod, the iPads display this as "Unsupported Content." What am I missing trying to share these videos within the Pod and, further, is it possible to embed them into the PowerPoint, upload to the Content List, and display them within the Powerpoint presentation?
    Thanks.
    Bill the Cat

Adobe connect does not directly support most video formats only mp4 and flv and those also under strict specifications and if you want to share ppt files with enbedded , you need to convert it to swf first that you can do with adobe presenter and about the specifications of videos check this out .
FLV Specification-: Bitrate-: as low as 300 kbps (kilobits per second) for low quality video, to as high as 8,000 kbps for very high quality video ; Frame Rate-: 29.94 ; The bandwidth required for an uploaded video file depends on the bit rate of thepre-encoded FLV file being streamed and is unaffected by room settings
    MP4 Specification-: Codec – H.264 format ,Dimensions – 880x586 (or around there) ,Frame rate – 29.97 FPS ,Bitrate ~ 500kb

  • Listing the tags associted with the blog

Hi Folks - I think I have module blindness.
    I want to display at the bottom of a blog the tags associated with this Blog. I can only find customization for a collection of tage used within the whole blog system ? {tag_blogtagcloud} and {tag_blogtaglist}
Any pointers or work arounds would be apprecaited !
    RJ

I can confirm that this is true in Firefox 19.0.2. This is a 100% reproducible issue.
    Repro steps:
    1. Bookmark a site, and add tags during the bookmark process.
    2. Edit the bookmark, changing the URL. Save the bookmark.
    3. Reopen the bookmark and notice that the previously-applied tags are gone.

  • HT2900 Can managed users be allowed to create bookmarks within the approved sites?

I have a young child for which I have setup a managed acct using the most restrictive Internet content filter option.  I have selected only those websites he can visit. One of the allowed sites is YouTube. Sometimes he wants to bookmark certain videos within the YouTube domain. Is this possible WITHOUT an administrator having to constantly authenticate / supply admin password?  There is already a bookmark for YouTube.com but this doesn't let him go direct to certain desired videos such as, for example, 'club penguin walkthrough'.
