Tags in Bottom Third

We have a group of editors that edit TV programs for a Public Access series. One of the editors is using iMovie 9.
What we are trying is to put a black and a white rectangle in the bottom third of the screen to hold the host's and guest's name and title. You see this on many TV interview shows. She was told that this can't be done in iMovie and she must use the supplied default tags.
It seems to be a simple task to insert a box. Any thoughts please.

iMovie comes with several lower third titles. You must use the supplied titles, but you can customize the fonts and the colors of the fonts to some extent.
It may be possible for you to create a title on your format in Photoshop in the dimensions of your project. and save it in a format like PNG with a transparent background. Then drag the PNG file into the Project as a Picture in Picture file. Then resize the PIP to cover the full screen.

Darker top third and bottom third this AM

I came down this morning and when I woke the computer [PowermacG5] from sleep saw something I'd never seen before = my 30" ACD came up and the top and the bottom 1/3 were darker than the middle 1/3 - I checked the pref. and adjusted the brightness but it didn't improve it = I then rebooted the whole computer and now it's gone = I'm certainly glad it's gone but thought I would ask whether anyone knows the cause/fix etc.
I had just upgraded to 10.4.9 but don't see the correlation, at least yet

Normally a partially dimmed LCD indicates a problem with the back light(s). Assuming the 30" ACD has three (top, middle and bottom), it seems unlikely though that two would temporarily fail simultaneously and then work again after a reboot. I guess one option would be to keep an eye on it to see whether it happens again.

Bottom third of screen blurred out regardless of max/min after update

After upgrade, bottom 1/3 of screen is unusable/blurred out regardless of maximizing or minimizing screen. Have resinstalled Firefox, but same problem (have also repeatedly opened/closed program, rebooted). Not having any problem w/ Chrome or IE. HELP??!!

Custom Tags starting with $: lots of problems

I'm building an extension for MovableType template tags.
Those tags can be delimited in several ways: <MTNameOfTheTag>
or <$MTNameOfTheTag> or even <$MTNameOfTheTag$>. Since
the dollar sign is not allowed as tag name, i put a
prefix="<$" in tag definition, but now i have some problems:
1. even if in tag chooser i can see the dollar-prefixed tags,
i cannot see them in code hints (I mean "automatic" code hints,
those floating menus automatically made for every tag/every
attribute/every enumerated attriboption in library).
2. I tried to manually code tags in codehints.xml file with
the "<$ pattern (so i can change the icon associated to my
custom tags, too. That's will be very elegant) but I loose "child"
codehints menus: the first codehints menu (the one i manually made)
comes up, but those for attributes and attributes values don't.
3. With the solution in point 2 not only i loose "automatic"
codehints, but i have to write THREE files for every tag
(taglibrary, codehins, third party tags file). Lot of time :/
4. Dollar signs, in both start and end, are NOT part of the
name, but part of the tag, like a prefix or a suffix. With an
attribute i should have:
<$MTBlogName donald="goofie"$>
and not:
<$NTBlogName$ donald="goofie">
as actually i have
so, as i said...a lot of problems! i hope someone can help
me...its really an hard sunday, today! :/

HD radio tagged items not showing up in iTunes

Hello,
I have just transitioned from an imac to a mac pro and have lost the "tagged" line. Any idea how to get it back?
the Store category in the itunes sidebar used to have three entries, now only two are visible.

If you are tagging songs from radio on an iPod nano, try this step:
Transfer tagged song information to iTunes
Connect your iPod to your computer and select your iPod.
Click Sync.

Re: display is 1/3 lighter on bottom

There has been no damage to the iBookG4 that i have been using for about a year; but suddenly, the screen comes up with the bottom third lighter than the top. When I jiggle the screen a little, some black and white lines appear and disappear, and if i raise the screen to a certain level, sometimes the brightness evens out. Also, the longer the unit is in operation, sometimes the more even the brightness level becomes. Is this the lcd or the cables? How can i test to see? Any help will be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance.

One approach would be to hook up an exterior display and see if it exhibits any of the same artifacts. If it does, there might be a problem with the video chip itself. You can also run the Apple Hardware Test to see if anything shows up in the form of an error code.
However, from your description, it sounds like the image is affected by the position of the display, which would make it sound like the problem could be with the cable. If you don't move or touch the display, what happens? Does the problem slowly go away as the machine heats up, or do you have to adjust the display to get the problem to change. When you "jiggle" the display, are you moving it by the edge or are you putting any pressure on the display itself by pinching it with your fingers?
If the problem seems to be related to the position of the display, with no pressure applied to the display itself, and the problem does not appear on an external display, then it seems likely to me that the problem is with the cable.

Tagging working differently in iTunes 12 ?

Like zillions of others, I upgraded to OS X Yosemite and iTunes 12. I am seeing some different behavior in iTunes 12, however, when trying to tag media content.
1. Per the attached example of a movie in my iTunes library, in List View the artist appears as Serra Hirsch (which is the correct artist). In CMD-I View, however, Serra Hirsch appears as the Director (she is not the Director).
2. I do not think the Director tag existed in iTunes 11. I was using the Album Artist field to hold the director's name in iTunes 11. Maybe Director is a new tag, but it does not show up in View > View Options > Show Columns. So I'm sure if it's a real tag or not.
3. Other fields (e.g., Grouping) do not appear in CMD-I View, and I do not see how to add them. So I cannot edit them in CMD-I view. I can still edit the tag data in List view, but that is tedious.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Apple wants what Apple wants, I guess.... I've been looking for a couple of years for something to replace iTunes, but in addition to the DRM on movies, there's really nothing out there that handles sorting and metadata information like iTunes does. I have LOADS of Movies and TV Shows and Music and trying to find something that handles that stuff is next to impossible. I'm on a Mac for "home theatre" stuff, so that limits it even more.
Actually, the iTunes Store puts the director's name in the Artist field and they list the cast, but it can only be found in the "Show Description" screen, so the cast isn't sortable or searchable either. It's REALLY annoying! I'm finally going through and copying cast lists found by iDentify to the Album Artist field.
I also just found out that it seems that iTunes 12 doesn't update itself when you write or rewrite metadata with a third party program like it used to. I don't know all of the ins and outs of iTunes, but before this version, you could change a tag in a third-party app and then "Get Info" (CMD-I) in iTunes and it would show the update you did. It's not doing that anymore.
It also seems like you can't edit certain fields when selecting multiple items. I tried to blank out the "Album Artist" field in 20 or so items in Movies and the field didn't show up on the Get Info screen when multiple items were selected.
Apple seems to be really taking control more and more as the OS and iTunes continue to be updated. So, gritting my teeth and working through it.... ugh!!

Albook G4 Display Has White Bar Bottom Screen

Thanks for your reply. Not quite sure when the issue started (my daughter's machine) but I think its been progressing for several months.
Before your reply, I was thinking hardware (monitor cable) but at your suggestion I ran TechTools - no issues. I also checked and repaired permissions, ran the fsck -fy in single user mode, and changed the desktop picture and screen saver options. It seemed to have cleared up, but when I adjust the screen position (open or close) the same area briefly acts up. I still think it may be a connector or cable issue, but there obviously was some sort of software issues too, so thanks for your suggestion. Is there a tutorial on how to check the screen connections that you would recommend? Thanks again!

I want to show tags next to each photo

In PSE6 I could see tags for each photo at a glance.
In PSE11 the tags are all at the side and it takes a lot of eye movement to see tags assigned to each picture one at a time as they are selected.
I prefer the PSE6 arrangement.
Can I do it in PSE11?

In the Media section you can click on any thumbnail and the keywords will be automatically listed in the Image Tags section (bottom right)
If you are inside the Information Tab, switch to the Tags Tab at the top of the right hand panel, then click on a thumbnail.
You can also hover your mouse (see image) over a keyword icon to display the keywords.

Embedding a video via script tag versus iframe

I've sucessfully embedded a youTube video before via an <iframe>, but I am having difficulty embedding a video through a <script> tag. The third party video platform that I am having to go through only offers this method of embedding so I am stuck with trying to come up with a workaround.
Here's my code (inserted into document.compositionReady):

Think what differs in the code there.
The 3 file types, the width and height - Custom fields.
The list layout of web apps is that code with those elements the tags.
Then you can insert module into template or page as you need.
Say you have a home page video. Classifcation of home so a client can easily change the video in and out via web app items...
Heaps of options.

Images flashing up at bottom of screen?

Hey folks,
I have a 1 month old powerbook G4. I have a recurring problem that is hard to describe. I have images that look like other windows that are open in the background that are open flashing up in the bottom third of my screen. They seem to go across the whole screen but are hard to describe as they only appear for a split second. They may not be other windows - it could be blocks of colour. This has happened in imovie, photoshop and when using explorer. I've been on to apple tech support and they said they have never heard of it, and to check here and keep a log of it. I cannot replicate this flashing but it's doing my nut in. Anyone heard of this, or how to fix it or to make it happen. Any help would be appreciated.

This icon indicates that the SIM card's own text message storage is full. On your E72 go to Messaging > Options > SIM messages and delete as appropriate.

Open source Tag Library

Hi,
i wish to use the tag library (http://displaytag.sf.net) within a portlet. I have the successfully created this but when i select the Next / Prev links, the table is displayed outside off the portlet.
Has anyone successfully implemented this or any other 3rd party tag library into portlal ?
I cannot use the netui-data:pager or netui-data:grid tags as they only support the datasource javax.sql.RowSet. I need to use java.util.List.

Why not create a simple RowSet implementation around the List and feed that

PHP form strange behaviors

I have a very basic PHP form coded and whenever I look at it in Live View the bottom third of the processing code appears at the top of the webpage. Uploaded the code does not appear on the webpage and the form works fine, except that the dropdown initial values I have set are ignored.

To select php form you should create a menu, fill out the type of "choice of one item of many" or "Select multiple items from the many." Must be inside FORM element and have at the start or end tags. It contains several elements OPTION, otherwise it makes no sense.

Lightroom Keyword Issue

Greetings. I'm running the 64-bit version of LR3.3 on Windows 7, but I've had this issue since before the upgrade. I have a long list of keywords. I'm finding that if I expand my keyword list keywords near the bottom third are not selectable, even though it shows how many photos are tagged with them. If I open up a metadata filter and scroll to the bottom of my keyword column I get the same results. However, if I do a find and specify a keyword that way it will bring the photos up. I haven't found anything in the forums regarding this problem. Does anybody have any suggestions?

It's a problem with how the list was coded in Lightroom which involved a failure to code around a limitation on the Windows platform. Lists of keywords longer than around 1600 items are truncated. I don't think you'll see a quick fix for it, but I hope it will happen in LR4.
As a workaround, put your keywords into a simple hierarchy.
