TAGS with various formats...
I have some CD's to digitize. I am curious of the best way to do this...
For me I am thinking that I will create 256 Stereo AAC files for IOS, but also then create .aif files to store for desktop players etc.
I didn't know that .aif's can store tag info....
It seems that .aif files can store the TAG info that come in through iTunes - but where is the info stored:
1 - right on the .aif file?
2 - just in iTunes database?
3 - just Spotlight?
4 - or ?????
If I copy the file to another hard drive on another computer - will it retain the tag info with aif?
I seems that when I try that save tag info with .wav format - that it doesn't store it - is that true?
I am curious to find out about tags with .aif - .wav etc.....

RIP them as AIFF (or ALAC).
For syncing to iDevice, just use the option to convert to 128, 192, 256 AAC when you sync them. No need to RIP them as 256 and have multiple copies of same song in different formats.

I am about to embark on creating a 2-3 minute splash reel for our company, to include tons of clips from work we've done in the last year. Owners of content submitted the work in a variety of formats with an unfortunate emphasis on WMV's. Frame sizes and frame rates are all over the place.
What is the best way to start in? Do I conform everything to the same specs, or at least convert the WMV's to QT? Or do I just deal with heavy amounts of rendering working with the non-uniform clips in the time line?
I really appreciate any advice.I'm sure Flip4Mac's big brother Episode would do everything you want, and more, but it's a few more dollars as well. However, F4M should work fine, too. As far as the size, that might take an experiment, but I would think you can leave them at their current size spec, then process.

Transformer Tags with Sessions
Hi All, this is a sort in the blue but always worth asking.
I'm in the process of building a portlet (in Java) which contents to more than one instance of a portal set up. (ie a completly stand alone set up). Don't ask why we are doing this and not using sub portals as it's a lokk story.
Anyway, my question is....... the gadget I'm building needs to retrieve details on all documents/folders held in each portal.
I know I can create a session in each and query from there but the pt:tree transformer tage does exactly what I need. The problem is that this seems to only access the Portal I'm in. Does anyone know if this can be based upon a particular Session object?

Problem with fobs4jmf while playing various formats in JMF application

well i am using fobs4jmf & JMF2.1.1e.while playing various formats like avi,dat,xvid etc. JStudio hangs & while playing them with my application program gives following run time error

i have installed fobs4jmf & all its codec are added in jmf registry.
also is there som multiplexer that has to be added as i am already using a demultiplexer given along with fobs4jmf.

JMF and FOBS4JMF. My problem is that I've followed all the procedures to
install fobs4JMF and it all works fine until I try to register jar files using
jmstudio. In fact, it works when i open runjmstudio.bat. The movie is played
fine, jars are correctly registered ... but when I close it and I open jmstudio
again it fails and I get the error : "Failed to realize: input media not
supported: XVID video, mpgelayer3 audio" plus codecs, demultiplexer ... are not registered anymore. In fact, it works with fobs_jmstudio.exe (the one in the fobd4jmf folder) and not with jmstudio.exe (the one in the jmf folder). When I try to add them manually into the second one, I get the error : "Could not add Item". I wonder if you had any idea of what type of problem it could be.
I've posted my problem in many forums but nobody seems to have the solution. Thanks a lot. -

In case if i am modifying the code as below I am getting error as 'page can have only one server tag'.

I have written a custom tag with body.
The intention is to process the body and
replace any periods with line breaks (in HTML)
before writing the BodyContent to the
enclosing JspWriter.
I find that replacing "." with ".<br>" does not
take any effect. The output HTML does not contain
the <br> tags (when viewed from the browser).
From the doAfterBody() I call the filter

Now the problem is you have the date value (COL3) in various format. That's messed up. To convert a string into a date format the first thing you need to know is the format of the string. Basically how the string is represented as date. Without knowing that there is no way you can convert a string to date. Said that now you need to device a method to convert string input having various date formats into a date value.
Below is a function that does that. But the problem is that you need to define the possible date formats in that. I have defined 10 date formats (No magic there ).

I am able to view videos on all but 1 website: http://www.start-american-sign-language.com/free-sign-language-asl1.html
When I view that page, the video box only shows the x with "no video with supported formate and mime type found" being displayed.

I have cleared my cache and cookies, and am unable to view the video in question. If I go to https://www.youtube.com/html5, it indicates that I have an operable Webelement player and Web VP8, and all others are exclamation points.
Does anyone know why I can't watch the (mp4) video(s) in question? I have turned up no viable solutions using the forums or google.
Thanks!This happens when there is no support in your Windows XP version to play any of the media file formats that the website offers with the HTML5 media player (i.e. not a Flash player is used, but a video tag).

You might be out of luck on Windows XP and your only option would be to use an external media player and paste the links in its location field. -
SSRS- Span tag with text-align CSS property

If I use the text box as HTML - Interpret HTML tags as styles, and write the following in it:

It works correctly ,but the following do not respond to the style:
"<span style='text-align: right';>Ghada Naim</span>"
Please, what is the problem? Is the span tag with SSRS does not support to text align property or what?

We can know that the <SPAN> tag is supported. Based on my further research, the <span> tag is used to group inline-elements in a document and it provides no visual change by itself. So we couldn’t directly see its respond in report.

I have a requirement where the customer needs XML file with different format. How do I achieve the second format mentioned below instead of first format.

The formatting i use for my date field i.e <QUOTE_DATE>, ends up either with NO formatting or giving me an error "[010906_114656657][][ERROR] Invalid XSD string: 27-OCT-2005 (XMLP Template Viewer)". The default formatting available with the form field dialog box (MS-Word) feature also doesn't work.
I have the following formatting for this field in the form field:
<?format-date:QUOTE_DATE; 'MEDIUM' ?>
When i read the user guide, it reads that the date should be in the canonical format i.e: YYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss+HH:MM
However i am not getting the date from the base table's in this format. Is the error happening due to incorrect format or is there some other reason behind this? Please let me know, how can i overcome this issue.

I have an apple iphone 4gs... It is synced with my outlook exchange in the office. If I do a search for emails that also checks the server then all of a sudden I end up with various amounts unread email with the inbox saying "Inbox 71" ..which is not true. The only way to make the inbox on the iphone back to 0 is to delete the account then re install it.

I am getting a "connection timeout" message when trying to access my Airport Extreme with various laptops, Play Station 3 and Wii. My Airport Extreme is about a month old; it was working fine until about a week ago. Suddenly, the "timeout" is not allowing me to connect to my wireless network.
It could be that there's a new source of interference.
Use the advice in the second message of this thread to investigate the signal and noise levels that each client sees:

Regarding BB Messenger, I have used it with various contacts in the past. Now, I am trying to connect with (removed personal information) and I can't accept her request to add and she accepts my request, I don't appear in her contact list. She's still listed in my "Pending." We've been going back and forth for a week! Please help!!! I've gone to the forums and all that first, but nothing's worked! Thanks!!!

As a result, if you delete photos from your phone and continue backing up, the backup containing the deleted photos will be overwritten by one that doesn't, and they will be lost.
To keep them permanently, either add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber, or better yet, import them to your computer from the camer roll as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
