1. How long after you rent a movie can you start watching it? I remember someone saying 30 seconds.
2. I downloaded Take 2, and since then it seems my connection is slower. It takes minuets to download movie box art, and You Tube downloads very slow. I never had this problem before Take 2....Anyone else experiencing this?

..will be entirely mainly on the speed of your internet connection, and if that's blazing fast potentially the slowness of your local network over wirless. Server load or server issues will also play a role.
2 - yes, showing cover art is really slow and irritating now. I hate the placeholders that appear before the art itself, just looks tacky and reinforces how slow it is when they swap over.

Hi,
Our book Quantity for a material reads as -1.
This material is also included in the stock take we have currently scheduled. We have negative stocks activated at the material level.
We don't want to zero count this material.
The materials that have a negative book quantity will be for products that we have ordered for customers and have received payment.
Is there a away the book quantity for this material can stay as -1, after the stock take process?

SAP is following the physical basics. If you can explain how you count -1 physically when you walk through the warehouse, then they probably find a programmer to make it possible in SAP too.
It is not good practice to post goods issue before it actually happened just because the customer has to pay in advance. This harms the normal process as well if you have enough stock in the warehouse.
There are other processes to know if the customer has to pay in advance, this financial activity should not affect the warehouse and lead to phantom bookings in logistics

Solo Piano/multiple takes question

I have been using a single project to record myself playing various tunes. I like to keep a bunch in one project as a matter of convenience, so as to not interrupt the creative flow. When I am ready to apply verb, EQ etc., what is the best approach to handling each tune separately, specifically:
1. Do I need to export each tune to it's own project before mixing?
2. If not, how do I "export" each tune/track as a finished mix, ultimately as an MP3 or AAC file for the web?

there are a couple things you can do. I like to separate each into it's own project, but you don't have to. Is each song a single continuous region? if so, you can just select that region and using bounce, just that region will be bounced down. if each song has multiple regions, you can pack them into a folder and then bounce with that folder selected to bounce down the song. whatever works best for the way you like to work

Cycle back to unanswered questions

I am using Captivate 4. I have created a quiz consisting of a few random question slides that take questions out of the same pool of even more questions. I have allowed users to skip questions till the end of the quiz. When they reach the end, I would like the quiz to cycle back to the first unanswered question without the result slide appearing, of course. Then, again, at the end of the quiz, cycle back again until all question are answered, then we can see the results page. I tried using advanced actions and particularly the cpQuizInfoTotalUnansweredQuestions system variable which I added to a "On slide enter" function of a blank slide before the results page so it can check if all questions have been answered, then proceed to the next slide which is the results page, a thing that for some reason it doesn't do. On the other side, if not all questions have been answered how can I track the first unanswered question in the quiz so I can send the playback there? Someone should have come across this scenario, I hope.
Also, I would like to ask of there is a way to customize the review questions proccess and instead of showing each question one at a time, to list all questions at once with the correct answer and the answer the user chose.

This is why I put the bank slides set at a half-second each between each question slide. You can set an advanced action upon entrance of these slides. So my advanced action looks at the variable for the next slide and checks to see if the value is > 0. If it is, it jumps to the following slide (which is another blank slide and that one executes another version of the same command. In terms of the Submit button, what I meant to say is that I set the same (separate) advanced action no matter if the user gets the question right or wrong. This one changes the value of the variable associated with the slide from 0 to 1 and then advances to the next slide.
So in a 3-question quiz, it would look like this...
Blank -> Slide 1 -> Blank -> Slide 2 ->
Slide 2 as the second-to-last question would have it own advanced action upon exit that looks to see if either slide has a value > 0. If both are > 0, it jumps to the final question. If either has a value of 0, it jumps to slide that tells the user he or she has unanswered questions and gives them the opportunity to go back.
Once the user goes back, the blank slides SHOULD cycle past all completed slides (since they have a value > 0) and stop only on the uncompleted slides.
I am still working out the final details. And once I get them working this way, I would like to see if I could do it with a more elegant plan, using fewer variables and actions. But the basics are working for me right now.

I am using Captivate 5. Is there a way to say have 10 questions in a question bank but randomly only ever show 5 questions.
For example two people sitting next to each other at a PC both taking the same course which has 5 questions, however they both see different questions.
Question 2
can I attach more than one question bank to a test. For example: A person is being tested on several different subjects from say Pain management to fire saftey. Is there away to set up several question banks and attach them to one test and randomly take questions from each bank. ie
Question Bank 1 Fire Safety . . 10 questions
Question Bank 2 Pain Management . . 10 Questions
Question Bank 3 Resucitation . . 10 Questions
I want the acutual test to randomly take five questions from each bank.

What you describe should be possible using question pools in Captivate.
A question pool can have dozens of questions but if you only have 5 slides in your movie linked to that question pool then your users will only ever see 5 randomly selected questions each time the movie is played.
Just be aware that those same 5 questions will be visible during that session no matter how many times the learner retakes the quiz. In order to see a different set of 5 randomised questions from the same pool the learner would need to relaunch the entire lesson again.
If two people log onto the same PC and each launches the same lesson (separately) then they will see a different randomised set of questions from the same pool.
You can have multiple question banks in the same project, and each can have as many questions as you need. All you need to do is insert question slides in your movie and select the option that they are randomised questions. When you select this option, you get the drop down menu that allows you to select which question pool the questions will be drawn from for that slide. If you later decide you want the slide to draw from a different pool, you can easily change this in the Properties tab.

Yours might be more robust than certain other products coming out of a place near Seattle, but at least they do a better job of supporting their developer network.

What happened to the ability to preview an Adobe doc in tile view in the folders?

I download a lot of PDF files for crafting and don't print them out until a time when I'm ready to do the project. I've got tons in my folder. I used to be able to see what the project was in the folder using the tile view but no longer. Now it only shows the Adobe Acrobat icon. I can't even preview it using the preview frame. I would like Adobe to go back to showing the preview so I don't have to go through and open and close evey single doc just to see what it is!
Is it clear what I'm asking?
64-bit, yes....why do people keep asking that? My computer is 4 1/2 years old so 64 bit has been out a LONGGGGG time and is pretty prevalent these days.

System.in code for Quiz(please help)

I have a Question for all you gifted people:
I am designing a sort of quiz which takes questions and three possible answers from a database(which also holds the real answer).It prints these on the dos screen and I then have a System.in statement which allows the user to enter his or her answer (eg A,B,C or 1,2,3). I need a way of adding up the score at the end!!I was thinking of storing there answers in an array and compairing there answer to my correct answer in the database and if it is the same add 1 and if it not the same add 0???
How would i write the System.in answers into an array and add them up???
These are my thoughts on how to do this i would love to hear yours!! And also a help with writing the code for the above system of scoreing would be GREATLY appriciated!!

How to add/delete rows on the form without saving data

I am new to apex
I am working on project and need some help on creating a form
my requirment is to save a request that has multiple questions.
i have a request form with multiple regions
On one of the region that takes questions, I want to create a tabular form such that i can add/delete/update row without hitting database and enter multiple questions
each row is one question.
Apex has the default functionality of having a tabular form linked to a table that onload shows the data from that table and also on click of add or delete hits the data base to save the data.
However i want to load a form that does not show any data if its a new request and click of add/delete should not update the databse. It should just add/delete a row on the form
so user logs in and can create a request that has multiple questions
finally want to submit the form and save all the information of the form in multiple tables.
As of now i a m able to have a simple form and a process that save 1 question per request.
How do i achieve this. Please assist.

Authorization and Web Services

Hello guys,
I've posted this question on the Identity Management forum, but since I had no answer I'm trying here (since this forum takes question about OWSM).
I'm taking part in a mission to advise how to protect Web Services with OWSM.
The authorization to execute a Web Service will be provisioned by the IAM Suite (OIM/OAM/OID etc)
But before getting into the technical details I'm hoping to find a Best Practices guide for approaches on how to determine/map WHO is authorized to execute which Web Service.
Since SOA promotes an heterogeneous environment where a Web Service can (and should) be reused by other process, and even other Web Services, I don't see clearly what drives this rules.
For example, the authorization rules should be based on :
a) User vs Web Services ?
b) User Role vs Web Services ?
c) Apps (or Business Process) vs Web Services ?
d) All users are authorized to execute all Web Services as long as they are authenticated ?
e) Something else?
Thanks for an insight or any direction to papers about this subject.

Can anyone get the help system to work?

I am trialling PSE 8 using a Windows 7 64bit machine.
Whenever I select help - either from the main menu or anywhere else in the product it just crashes.
As far as I can see this software does not work and I wondered if anyone had an luck with it. The Adobe support system doesnt seem to want to take questions from trial customers as PSE8 is not listed when trying to contact support - I guess that means they know it doesnt work and dont want to have lots of questions.
Very frustrated with this product at the moment

My suggestion will be to revert back changes done for doc id 1418876.1. We have also experienced the same issue with this change.
Perform the steps as per below doc based on if you have issue with Global Scheduled Services or Project Publications
P6 Global Scheduled Services Are Stuck In A "Running" State [ID 1400104.1]
P6 Project Data Is Not Being Published Via The Publication Services [ID 1333858.1]
The steps in above document has addressed our issue in achieving near real time publication of the project. Rest depend on the values you specify in Application settings. Running publication services too frequently does have impact on server load.

As mathuoa pointed out, since you already display the 3 possible answers to the user, get them into an array and display them on the screen. Then, as the user enters an answer, compare them with the three answers and if it is correct, update the score variable as such. If you want the history of answers that the user has given, then u will have to use a Vector/List/some such collection object to hold the user's answers.
java.util.Vector answers = new java.util.Vector();
answers.add(usersAnswer1);
answers.add(usersAnswer2);
Then, to get the entries,
for(Enumeration e = answers.elements(); e.hasMoreElements();)
System.out.println(e.nextElement());
//Do something with the answer.
This is one possible way of getting the answers from the user!

the reason I asked if it was your conenction or more widespread was due to a subsequent poster from shetland who has a very good connection so not all of shetland have bad conenctions.

"Remote" state after application finishes

I have a problem when porting a CVI6.0-VISA-GPIB application from Windows NT to XP.
I noticed a device stays "Remote" after finishing the application under NT because REN is still asserted. With XP it swiches to "Local" automatically when the application ends. How can I prevent this?
Background: The application has a commandline interface and is only executed for certain actions, but the instrument should stay in "Remote".

If the device is an ATM (of the banking variety) and the connection to the system controller goes down, you don't want local mode to take over and operate the cash dispensing mechanism. You might not mind too much that persons nearby might be able to turn off power to the device, and you might have already accounted for the possibility of power tools being used in order to steal the entire device, but still you don't want to make it easy for local operations to take over.
Although I'm not the original poster, I agree with your suggestion to manually ground
the REN line when desired. Such a design would make it obvious that this effect was intended, regardless of which driver is correct.

MacBook Pro "13 plus Skype w/Audience Participation

We have an event tomorrow night and out keynote speaker can't make it so we've setup a Skype projection so the audience (150 people) can see and hear him. At the end of the speech he'll take questions. We have a wireless mic that we will run around to people in the audience so they can ask their question. I need a suggestion to make it so the keynote speaker can hear the questions. The MacBook will have output to the sound system so the only port is occupied for sound. Not sure if the internal mic will work. Is there a bluetooth solution? Any ideas welcome - THANKS!

I know it is not adding anything to the dialog, but I am in the same boat. The only reason I am even adding a reply, is to pipe up another voice.
I have been fighting this since I upgraded to 10.6 (on an aluminum 13" MacBook). I have since purchased two new MacBook Pros with 10.6 on out of the box, both of those have the same issue. Maybe there will be a fix out someday.
