Take control of Iphone from MacBook Pro (for text messages)

Does someone know how to control the text messages of an Iphone on a Macbook ?
I'd like to be able to read and reply text messages while I'm on my computer (and my Iphone is playing music "far away" from me)...

If you only have that much (little) space left it is likely the database on the phone is unable to continue indexing your messages. I would strongly suggest that you start offloading some older messages and remove from your phone to free up space. At the minimum, delete some attachments after saving them to camera roll/backup.

My iphone 4s voice dictiation for text messages is not consistently working. I've had the phone since Thanksgiving and it always worked perfectly, but the last few weeks it's been hit or miss. I have the same problem since updating to IOS 8.3. Any app to which I want to send a new link via IMessage does not allow me to select a contact to send the IMessage to. Using a pre-existing thread does not have same problem.

Getting photos to iPad 1 and iPhone from macbook pro with icloud.

Icloud seems fine - except my photos are not showing up on IPad 1 or iPhone. Macbook pro is running Lion 10.7.2 and the other two devices have iOS 5.0.1. I've checked all three have photos switched 'on' for icloud.
What am I doing wrong?

Cannot Update IPhone from MacBook Pro

I had to restore the system software on my MacBook Pro the other day, and now MBP finds the 3G, but tells me that "ITunes cannot read the contents of the IPhone", and to go to the summary tab in ITunes preferences to restore the software on the IPhone. When I click the Restore button, I get another message that says "Software for this IPhone is not currently available. Make sure you have the latest version of ITunes and try again". So, I dutifully click on "Check for Updates" in ITunes, and it tells me I have the current version (8.2). I also have a 3G S (32gb) and the problem manifests differently with that IPhone--it doesn't see/find it when I plug it into MBP. What can I do to resolve both (related) issues? Thanks.

my moms Iphone 4s is synced to my macbook pro and she gets everything from my mac over to her phone, she gets pictures, music and even links that i put on my bookline. Me and my mom dont want this and want to unsync her Iphone and my mac from each other!

How? Drive TV from MacBook Pro for video presentation

I need to connect my MacBook Pro to a 32" digital TV to show a small group how something works on a Mac. I have a wide variety of cables and adaptors but not sure what is likely to work. Anyone out there that does this routinely?

Thanks again Captfred. I have (just) been to a Maplin store, bought the DVI to HDMI adaptor (with pass-through audio, ie all pins present) and HDMI cable, connected it up and selected Mirror in the System Preferences-Displays and it is working. Whoopeee!
But . . . Isn't there always a but? But the audio didn't seem to be coming through on the TV. I did look at System Preferences - Audio but didn't see any reference to a Panasonic TV so couldn't change anything there. I didn't persevere now because I don't need audio for my presentation but I do want to get it working for the future. Any sugestions? I haven't looked yet at the User's Guide but I will.

Iphone 5 not searching for text messages correctly anymore?

If i type in 'Tim' to search for a text message from 'Tim' the search does not bring up tim's messages in the results, although it may randomly show some messages that have Tim in the written text of the messages??
But if i scroll down through the messages themselves without using the search tool, Tims messages are there!?
This isnt just for one person, it seeems to happen randomly for different names etc, As in i have a few friends by the name of Mark, yet when searching it may only bring up one of them...

HT1175 How long should I expect my Time Capsule to take to back up my MacBook Pro for the first time?

Since I purchased my Time Capsule, I have not been able to back up my mac. The backup process begins but it says it will take 2 days. 2 days later it is frozen and it never finishes. I gave up

This will obviously depend on how much it has to back up - and the first always takes longer.
I have just posted that my TC reported it would take over 3 million days! I have had similar problems with 2 days and then no finish

You can sync contacts between your iPhone and MacBook Pro using iCloud or iTunes.

Time needed can depend on several things.
• less than 5 GB free space on Start-up (Mac OS) hard disk = Redicolous long times AND a DVD that most probably will not work OK
Medicine - I never go under 25GB free space
• Use of strange file formats into iDVD - can force it to de-code first then re-encode - this can take long long times
I use
Video - StreamingDV as from miniDV tape Cameras - or QuickTime Movies Converted to StreamingDV
Audio - .aiff 16-bit 48 kHz - (no .mp3, .wma etc)
• Use of old Mac - My G4 600MHz took about 24 hour per hour movie. my dG5 - about 2 hours per hour (I use Pro Quality encoding)
• Pro Quality encoding - takes about x2 to process a movie

Sending files to and from an older Mac
If a Mac you're using with AirDrop was manufactured before 2012, you can send and receive files with other Mac computers.
On the sending Mac, click "Don't see who you're looking for" in the AirDrop window.
Select the option to "Search for an Older Mac."
On the receiving Mac, open a new Finder window and click AirDrop in the sidebar.
Tips for sending files
Make sure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled on your Mac and your iOS device. Although you don't have to connect to a specific network, Wi-Fi needs to be on to send and receive files using AirDrop.
Move your devices closer together. AirDrop is designed to work within a range of approximately 30 feet (9 meters). If you need to send a file to someone farther away, consider using File Sharing, iCloud, or email instead.
If you're using a firewall on your Mac, you won't be able to receive AirDrop files if you have enabled "Block all incoming connections" in the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences.
