Takes hours to upload to you tube

you tube is taking hours to upload my video. What's a better project setting for a faster upload? It's been 3 hours processing the upload. My current setting is HDV 1440x1080. 30 frame. I saved it  as AVCHD in the "computer" part of "publish/share" to upload manually from my video folder.  Windows 8, i5, Elements 11

At those settings, you file is pretty big -- and interlaced.
So instead use Publish & Share/Computer/AVCHD but select the preset for HD YouTube. This will produce a YouTube-optimized file for upload. (YouTube does have a time limit, however. So make sure your video is no longer than 15 minutes.)

    1) The people responding in this forum are just other Apple product users like you, not Apple itself.  Apple Support Communities is primarily an end-user to end-user (i.e., users like you helping other users) technical issue support feature. Feedback will truly get more attention if you send it using:

    2)  At some stage developers decide it isn't worth the expense of supporting older technology. If I had my way you could still connect iOS7 to OS9, but Apple has decided to make the limit OS 10.6.8  Nor do I like that I can't get spare parts for my 33 year old car...
    Suggestions...
If you are not going to always be running the newest technology always read software requirements before doing any upgrades.  I run a 12 year old computer and yes, I see there are things I can't run (many), but I also then avoid buying any incompatible new technology.  The system requirements are printed on the side of the box (albeit in 9 point medium gray font on light gray box   )  Do not expect the Apple Store people to check with you about your computer first.  I bet half of them were still in grade school when my computer was produced and none of them could possibly imagine anybody would run anything older than 6 years (probably not even that, more like 4).
Why not buy Snow Leopard?  Of course you do not say what model computer you are using, but if you can run Snow Leopard on your computer there's no advantage to staying with Leopard.  Snow Leopard costs $20 which is minimal compared to you now no longer being able to sync your phone.

If you can't/don't want to upgrade your computer, you have 30 days to return the phone I believe.

  • Trouble "exporting movie" from iMovie when uploading to You Tube....

Hi, I have never had a problem with uploading my projects from iMovie to You Tube off my iPad. I have about 32GB's available on my iPad 3. I only have about 5 projects and never had any hassle going thru the upload process? Now, with my latest project complete (only about 4.5min) I click on upload to You Tube, it then says "exporting movie" as it normally says, but doesn't go any further - just hangs there?
    Any help appreciated!

well... for anyone else experiencing something similar, here's how I worked around it :
    1. Once I have edited my video in the iMovie app and I want to publish it, I then select the publish option, and then choose YouTube as the place I'd like to publish it.
    2. I then fill out all the fields in the 'Publish to YouTube' form, as if I was about to publish it.
    3. I then select CANCEL, to cancel out of the 'Publish to YouTube' form.
    4. I then exit the iMovie app, and force it to close by going into the app dock and forcing it to close there.
    5. I then re-open the iMovie app, and choose the video I want to publish, select the publish option, choose YouTube as the place I'd like to publish it.
    6. The fields are now already populated with the information I had entered previously, although I still need to select the video quality and also whether it should be public or private.
    7. I now click "publish" and it publishes correctly, with all the correct meta-data / title / description etc. attached.
This has worked for me consistently over the past couple months now,
Hope this helps anyone with a similar issue.

  • Just bought a new Canon Vixia HF R300.  It looks like I have basically two recording modes--either AVCHD or MP4.  I have a year old Mac Mini on Lion with increased ram.  I edit on iMovie and upload to You Tube.  Which recording mode would be best?

    Hi...
I just bought a Canon Vixia HF R300 camcorder.  It looks like it gives me a choice of two recording modes AVCHD or MP4.  I will be uploading onto a year old Mac Mini with the Lion Operating system and increased ram.   I will be editing in iMovie '11 then uploading to You Tube.  Which recording mode should I use?  Obviously I'd like to get the best quality but I also want it to show well on You Tube.   What do you think?  Thanks for the help.  Bill

    Hi
What program can you use to convert AVCHD to a DVD format?
Share to File (in iMovie) - AND AS 480p - NOT Higher as DownScaling will be done badly.
Use this file in iDVD or Roxio Toast™ or what DVD Authoring program You've got.
To make a VIDEO-DVD You must use a DVD Authoring program - to get the right compression format AND Structure - It is a MUST.
There are free alternatives - but resulting DVD hasve been far from what quality iDVD (and Toast™) will deliver.
To get best possibly DVD - also this counts.
    - DVD brand used - I only Verbatim
    - DVD type used - I only DVD-R Single layer (4.7Gb)
(DVD+R works for many and DVD-R/W usually don't work OK and Double Layer also are a problem to it self)
    - BURN SPEED - I set this as low possibly (usually x2)
    - Free Space on Start-Up Hard Disk - MATTERS - I never go less than 25Gb
    Good Luck
    Yours Bengt W

  • When uploading to You Tube via iMovie settings and lost/blank?

    Hi,
When uploading a video via the iMovie app to You Tube it appears that the settings (e.g. title, description, public/private etc... ) are not being transferred to You Tube when the video is uploaded.
e.g. I attempt to export a video to You Tube via the iMovie app, I type in a title, description and select Public to share the video, but when it has completed uploading at You Tube then the title and description fields are blank and it has defaulted to Private.
I am using an iPod Touch 4th gen, iOS 5.0.1 with the very latest iMovie app.
    Any help very much appreciated.
    Many Thanks,
    Nick

  • Export and Upload problems You Tube

    Hello,
I started using Final Cut Pro X recently and, after finishing some projects I decided to upload one of them on You Tube. The first time go so fine but there were some problems in the finally movie on youtube, like sounds and some white square.
Then I fixed the problem into the timeline and i tried to upload it again but there was another problem. I type the passworld, the name and the description but the button "Next" is always gray.
I think is because of I've already published it on you tube but it's weird that the Aplication doesn't let me export it again. The problem is only with youtube, in fact if i try to export as a .mov or on other social networks it goes well.
    Please Some one help me!

Yes, if I export the file and upload it traditionally; it works but it's too slow: the upload started 3h ago and reached just the 29%!!!! On the other hand if I upload it by the in-app exporter in FCPX it goes faster!
    I can't wait 24h to upload a foolish movie of 3minutes !
(I tried even to duplicate the project and share but it doesn't work)
    However, thanks for help

  • Saving a movie to be able to upload to you-tube

    Hello everyone
I have a dvd movie shot on a home digicam. Its edited, needs nothing else done to it.
I would like to upload it to You-Tube.
When I went to browse (from the 'Upload' page in you-tube) to select the file to upload, it showed me a list in finder window (with dvd in drive by the way) that had lots of little folders with letter and number names... Do I need to save the movie to my hard drive and if so, how???
I have tried to find this in the topics but everything seems to be to do with imovie or idvd and I have looked through my missingmanuals and have gone to you-tube help.
    Can anyone help me please.
Thanks for your help if you can
    Merry x

YT expects videos in some specific 'format'/codecs..
DVDs is not on its list..
    so, you need some conversion..
e.g. Mpeg Streamclip + the Apple mp2 playback component can convert a DVDs content into something acceptable for YT, e.g. h264..
another option is the latest version of Handbrake, which also allows conversion of non-copy protected DVDs into h264.. but as far as I know, that tool doesn't allow 'only parts', it converts allways the whole DVD => YT limit is 10min or 100MB..
you can NOT 'convert' the structure of a DVD... as menus etc. ...

  • Why does it take so long for a you tube video to load??

when I try to play a video on you tube or on facebook, it just sits and spins. It takes about 20 minutes to play a one minute video! Can anyone help?!

Not on the LAN - traditionally internet speeds were rate limiting - these days it's possible the LAN connection is especially with multiple wifi signal paths.
Unless some app is transcoding the camera video on the fly I'd be surprised if LAn slownwss alone would cause these issues.
What's the camera and what is the recorded video format?

  • I added titles to my iMovie project and when I preview it they show up.  But when I Share--I tried downloading onto desktop and also uploading to You Tube, only the video part shows.

I haven't used iMovie in a long time and it's a newer version than I used in the past, so maybe I'm just missing something.  I uploaded 2 clips and put both into the project section.
I put in a title at the beginning that I wanted to fade and I added additional titles in a different position to indicate certain things happening in the video.  The first title bar appears as a big purple bar below the first clip.  The additional ones appear as little purple bars above it. Eventually I wanted to take the big one out but when I deleted it, the video part also disappeared so I kept it but just took out the text.
Then when I dragged the second clip into the work area, it popped into the same line as the big purple bar.  I just kept adding little title bars along that and that seemed ok.
When I previewed it all in the upper right box, it seemed to do exactly what I wanted to do.  But then when I Shared it, only the second (larger) clip appeared and no titles appeared anywhere.
I'm sure I just put somethings in the wrong place and obviously I don't know all the correct language for projects, events, etc.  Have I made any obvious mistakes that are easy (I hope) to fix?
I'm using Maverick and iMovie 10.0.3
    Thank you!

Thanks victoryhat.  I learned some new things from this very clear tutorial.  But it didn't answer my question about why the titles don't stay with the video when I export it.
He did mention something that might be a clue however.  When he talked about importing a title he created as an image, he noted that he was careful to make the image the same size as the video he was adding it to: 1280 x 720.  Since I took the video with an iPhone in the vertical position, my video image isn't the same size and orientation as the titles.
Maybe there is a way I should be setting the screen for this size???  I'll go back and play around.  Meanwhile thanks for alerting me to Gary Rosenzweig's MacMost tutorials.  Very clear.  I'll look for more.

  • Set up Photo app to upload to You Tube

I have an iphone 5s with the latest youtube app and the latest iOS so it has the latest Photos app.
When I login from iPhone native YouTube app all works well.  I log in using my gmail and its password.
But when I try to upload a video from the Photos app, login fails.
    Any idea why?

Bridge > File > Get photos from camera
    Check Convert to DNG
I imagine it would work exactly the same from a Card reader as plugging the camera into a USB port.
