Takes longer and longer to move between pages and files...little ball rolls and I cant move
I got a new harddrive installed this year and it is difficult to move between pages or open or close anything instantly...waiting time varies...
Let's establish some specifics:
What model MBA do you have?
How much RAM
What HD? Original PATA drive, original SSD design or newer style SSD/RAM drive?
The file(s) that we're working with, what are they? How large are they and what program(s) are we using in conjunction with them?
We need to try and figure out if this is an application or an OS X issue.

Today I discovered a new treasure of doggie poop in Lion. No Save As......
I repeat. No Save As. In text editor I couldn't save the file with a new extension. I finally accomplished this oh so majorly difficult task (because we all know how difficult it should be to save a file with a new extension) by pressing duplicate and then saving a copy of the file with a new extension. Yet then I had to delete the first copy and send it to trash. And of course then I have to secure empty trash because if I have to do this the rest of my mac's life I will be taking up a quarter of percentage of space with duplicate files. So this is the real reason they got rid of Save As: so that it would garble up some extra GB on the ole hard disk.
So about 20 minutes of my time were wasted while doing my homework and studying for an exam because I had to look up "how to save a file with a new extension in mac Lion" and then wasted time sitting here and ranting on this forum until someone over at Apple wakes up from their OSX-coma.
are you freaking kidding me Apple? I mean REALLY?!!!! who the heck designed this?!!! I want to know. I want his or her name and I want to sit down with them and have a long chat. and then I'd probably splash cold water on their face to wake them up.

I'm making an app and I want to navigate through is pages and articles only using links and buttons. Is there any way to eliminate that "swipe moviment" between pages and articles in a folio?No.

I’ve got a mid 2009 MacBook Pro. Today, I updated to Yosemite 10.10.1. I also updated Safari to 8.0.2. Now, anytime I open Safari, it immediately quits and give me an error page that says, Safari unexpectedly quit and suggest that I can click on a Reopen button and restart it, but it just does it again.
I read some of the questions and responses here and went to ~/Library/Safari and threw out the webpages.db file and emptied the trash and rebooted.
No luck; same problem.
BTW: Mail works
Any ideas how to get around this?There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked. -
I have nine, 1-page PDF files that are accessible and need to combine into 1 PDF file. I have tried appending, adding and the combine PDFs process. The file created is not keeping my changes. The created file is partially accessible but I have to re-fix issues I had fixed in the single files. I need suggestions on what else can be done if any. Using Acrobat pro XI.
Out of habit, I tend to combine PDF files in the Page Thumbnails pane by right-click then "Insert Pages" -> "From File". For me, this preserves the tags from both documents, although the tags may have to be moved into the right location (if I recall correctly the tags for the inserted pages get put at the end of the tag structure, regardless of where the pages are inserted), If I first put the tags for the document to be inserted inside a container tag like Section, it makes the process easier. Moving that set of tags to the right place is the only re-fixing that I recall having to do. What behavior are you experiencing?

I tried to import a video into iMovie. Its says their is not enough space on the destination disk. I deleted many projects, and events. Nothing changed. What files do I delete and how?
Hard drive full or near full:
You are going to have to delete, move or archive your data to regain hard drive space.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Uninstall apps that you no longer use. If the app has a dedicated uninstaller, use it to completely uninstall the app. If the app has no uninstaller, then just drag it to the OS X Trash icon and empty the Trash.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its thing initially, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run all of the processes in the tabs. Let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be moved, also, to the external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.
You may have to Purchase an external FireWire or Thunderbolt hard drive to move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.

Upgraded to Lion & can no longer finger swipe for/backwards between pages. Is there a fix for this?
Title says it all. I just upgraded to Mac OS X Lion, and can no longer use a finger swipe, whether one or 2 fingered, to move backwards an forwards between pages. I can still do so in Safari, but not in Firefox 5.01, my preferred browser, any longer. Doesn't matter if I try using one, two or more fingers

Magic mouse swipe between pages not working "only" in finders and preferences

I'm a new comer in this mac world like I just bought it less than a month ago and I'm already having trouble with it.
My apple magic mouse cannot swipe between pages "only" in finder and preferences. I mean it works perfectly fine with Safari and stuff but when it comes to finder, I cannot move between folders by swiping with one finger. Ironically, it works fine if I change it to two finger swipe option by sacrificing 'Swipe between full-screen app' feature as it uses two fingers. Apple customer support that I talked to could not figure it out and I'm hoping to find answers here. I mean it's really awkward as it works with two fingers but not with one finger. Plus, one finger swipe works fine in Safari and other apps.
I did what I can - restarting, -switch on and off the mouse, - PRAM reset, - trying in serfdom, -remove and pair up again the mouse, -run repair permission in disk utility.
I use Mac Mini late 2014 with Yosemite 10.10.1 and this just happened all of sudden.
Please help!!Just figured out it also does not work with the Mail app.

Firefox crashes every time I open it and try to go between pages, I can not use firefox, help
I converted my new computer from an old one about a week ago.
Every time I open Firefox, it either crashes immediately or once I try to go between pages it crashes. I get a window that says Firefox quite Unexpectedly. Apple Care worked on this with me.
We opened Firefox in Test Mode, the crashes did not happen.
I would like to use Firefox, it is much better than Safari, but not being able to get help for Firefox; I have no choice.
I don't know how to submit information to Mozilla, therefore I have no crash ID.With Test mode, do you mean starting Firefox in [[Safe mode]] ?
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") -

We would like to be able to PDF files into a report based on a file name contained in the detail of the report. For Example, I have some data in our database relating to a specifc PDF file including the name of the PDF that I would like to print in the header of the report and then print the actual PDF as the detail of the report. The PDF may be multiple pages so I would like the remaining pages of the report to follow on each page of my crystal report. Essentially I am trying to merge a report header onto a mulitple page PDF file as a single report. Is this possible to do out of the BOX with Crystal? I am trying to copy text from a word document and paste it into my web builder and it says that firefox does not support copy/paste from clipboard. Went to your site and it tells me to open the user.j file in my profile. This file does not exist and I am not real sure how to create that file so I can paste the fix from your site into it.
I went to that link and added to firefox add on but it still does not work. I went to the add on option button for this but it told me that my MYSIWG widget was disabled. Does this have something to do with it not working and if so how do you enable it.

Move Between PO's Caused Loss of Mail and Frequent Contacts
I recently moved a user between post offices because he was moving to a different building. The move process went smoothly, but afterwards he had none of his email or frequent contacts prior to that point. Is there anything I can do about this?

I would start by checking the the post office reported and User Move Status for the user in question in ConsoleOne while connected to the primary, source and target domains. -

In your Animate project, call: sym.play("label") OR sym.play(5000), where 5000 is where you want to jump to in your timeline (in milliseconds)
