Takes longer charge after 4.2 update

My pad would charge to 100% pretty quickly before the upgrade. Less than an hour or so
. Now it takes three to four hours at least to get back to 100%. After an hour I might be at 50-60% now. Anyone else? ideas?

Hi Maslov,
Are you going to the multitasking bar and closing all of the "recents" it shows? I have found that despite what one would assume "recent" means, if you go to the multitasking bar, double click the home button, hold one of the recents, then tap each red circle with a - sign, the iPad seems to run faster and use less battery charge.
Could also be affecting the recharge cycle.
Give that a try and see if it helps.

ipad no longer functions after accepting an updated version of "Hayday"

Unfortunately it was a blinding flash of the obvious that fixed my issue...
Simply rebooting the iMac brought it back to life.
    Duh.
I assumed that since Apple usually forces reboots after updates if they are required that this didn't require one, apparently it did.

3-d is no longer enabled after downloading Yosemeti update. Can I re-enable? I was able to 3-d layers prior to this new update. I have changed any drivers an know the mac is capable. Dunno how under systems it is disabled.

Any computer tech would know that it is likely not firefox causing this issue, but an incompatibility with a new ebay sign-in page and the firefox browser. The browser only does what the code on the page tells it to. I have seen the issue with other sites that work with IE or with Safari, but not firefox and some that work with firefox and IE but not Safari, it is the web developer's fault for the page that isn't working, not your browser.
---It is possible that it is a firefox issue, but it is most likely an issue with the webpage itself. I do not have a problem signing into ebay at all with firefox.

  • Iphone 5 will no longer charge after 7.1.2 update

I updated my Iphone 5 to the latest software 7.1.2 a couple days ago and now it will no longer charge. I purchased a new cable thinking that was the case but it is still not taking a charge from my car, wall outlet, or computer.
Apple Support told me it is the port, a $279 fix without warrenty or Apple Care. I have done nothing to the phone to cause this to stop working.  Now my phone is dead with no forseen reason other than the update causing something to go wrong.
There must be some sort of issue as this is not the first post I've seen ragarding this.  I would appreciate not having to fork over a massive sum of money due to what I thought was a routine software update.
    Thanks

I find it extremely hard to believe that a software update has caused your port to bad. This sounds more like port just gave up at the same time as the update.

  • Apogee Jam No longer working after 1.1 update?

My apogee jam is no longer working after updating to Garageband 1.1. I have an Ipad 2 with firmware 4.3.3.
    Specifically what happens is:
    1. I open the garageband app
    2. I select the guitar amp
    3. I plug the Jam chord into Ipad (guitar is already connected to cord)
    4. Jam light goes green, blue, bright green then green
When Jam light goes bright green, the monitor button in garageband goes dim and doesn't work.
I've tried plugging my guitar in first, then starting garageband, no difference in results.
I have tried turning the monitor "on" prior to pluging in the jam, when I do this the monitor/sound gate window stays open until the Jam bright green goes on, then it disappears and the monitor button goes dim.
Outside the garageband app, the ipad does recognize the Jam in settings, general.
What's worse (for me...) is that I backed up the Ipad in itunes thinking that app data would also be backed up (as I read that in a description of backup). I then deleted garageband from the ipad and then restored it from itunes. Guess what, lost all my songs... Bummed out... Why wouldn't my songs be backed up???
Anyway, any ideas on the Jam issue would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping I am just overlooking a setting?

Unfortunately, I don't believe that Apple keeps prior versions of Apps available at the store. GB was the first app I purchased there day one of my Ipad, incredibly worth the $, and I did actually look to see if you could go back legitimately. This is just one of the many reasons to JBreak your devices, so that you can go backward if you need to. This is a perfect example of why Apple should make prior versions available, but they think they know it all and never make mistakes, so that will never happen. Again, this is why folks take things into their own hands and why the scene exists. There are plenty of abuses, more than not IMO, but here is a perfect example of how people are screwed and can't use their Jams any longer without a JBroken device. They obviously know that this issue exists, they have employees on these forums. It will be months if ever they fix this issue, because the number of owners of Jam, although in the thousands, is small potatoes compared to the Apple owner universe. I believe it will only be fixed if Apogee is able to put enough pressure on Apple. If you see the Jam removed from the Apple store and GB site you know that Apple is choosing not to fix it, because they won't sell or promote it directly and then have to deal with complaints and returns. But even this will happen slowly...
Actually it occurs to me that Apogee may have to redesign the Jam AGAIN in order to get it working with 1.1 on Ipad 2 and Iphone 4s (devices with the newer processor). I wonder if they will recall or replace the Jams for people who now have Jams not compatible with Garageband. Again, Apple should be posting a warning for Jam owners on the Garageband download page, but that will never happen because Apple doesn't care about small potatoes.

  • Battery wont charge after recent system update

My bluetooth device errored and I had to download the drivers again so thought I'd update my system at the same time with some of the latest Lenovo updates - Terrible mistake!
Lenov have changed their power management so that it "may not support batteries that are not genuine Lenovo-made or authorised"  .  What they mean is we're gonna screw you over!
My compatible extended life battery that I've happily used for over 6 months now does not now charge and I use my laptop for business and often on the go so battery is imperative.
My laptop is out of Lenovo warranty so I am utterly disgusted they are trying to force me to pay nearly £200 (which I dont have) for their own batteries when it should be totally my choice. It's monopolisation surely!   It's not that I have bought a non compatible battery that doesn't work, its the change in software through upgrade that they have forced this upon me and I am seething to say the least.
Is it possible to go back a version of power manangement (I presume it's power management software) so that i can live happily ever after?
This is an urgent problem for me so please, anyone?
    Richard

The warning in the power manager have said so for ages, and doesn't mean that your charger won't charge third-party batteries. It just means that Lenovo doesn't take responsibility for third-party batteries, and can't guarantee that charging will work with third-party batteries.
If it suddenly doesn't charge at all, there's probably something else wrong - it's not the power manager update.

  • IPhone 6 won't charge after 8.02 update

    Hi,
Since the 8.02 update my iPhone 6 won't charge from any of my 3rd party cables and will only charge using the apple cable; despite my 3m cable being "apple approved" and the battery indicator showing its charging on the phone, the power still goes down even while it's plugged in and it's saying the phone is charging. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue since the update? All chargers are working fine on my iPad running 7.1.2 and worked fine while I was using 8.01 on my phone however since updating to 8.02 the only charger that seems to work is the official apple one which I'd rather not use as they aren't long enough. Any help would be appreciated.

For the iPhone 4S, Apple seems to have used a faulty WiFi chip which in some cases seems not to be able to handle the load of the iOS. This can lead to overheating issues which can eventually cause a hardware failure
As customers in good faith we bought this product
We paid a large amount of money  (I paid some $800 last year) since we believed we bought a quality product in the believe we could use it -with good care of course- for at least 2, 3 or even 4 years to come
We upgraded the firmware from iOS 5 or 6 to iOS 7 since Apple advised us to do so (as is very obvious from the constant messages in the settings menu of the iPhone and in iTunes)
We followed all the regular procedures as advised by Apple in the upgrade
There is no way how Apple could hold us responsible for having done a 'wrong' installation, making us responsible for our own actions.
Apple has been aware for over a year the Apple 4S WiFi chip is not reliable (A Google search on iPhone 4S Wifi greyed out will proof my point) and was therefor fully aware this "greyed out" problem - which also occurred when iOS 6 was introduced, might very likely occur again with the introduction of iOS 7.
Since Apple did not inform her customers of this risk the customers were not given the choice to either upgrade (knowing the risks) or staying with the previous (working) version.
Apple does not enable the users to return to the previous version of iOS, and even if Apple would allow the users to return to a previous version, there is a great risk the hardware has become seriously damaged already in the upgrade to iOS 7, making this not a feasible option.
As result of this us, we, customers are now stuck with an unusable iPhone for which we paid plenty of money and so support from Apple whatsoever in solving this issue.
I feel that Apple should take their responsibility and help her customers in solving this quality issue.
( One thing I am sure of, if Apple would be a car manufacturer or an airplane manufacturer they would never get away with this, and would be forced to do a recall)
    My message to Apple:
You know thousands of your customers are affected by this fault. It is now time to act. Taking responsibility never hurts (even if you for some reason feel you are not fully to blame) It gives you credit. And credit gives you loyal customers.

  • Ipad 2 not charging after ios 7 update

have tried everything, multiple attemps at restore, plugging into wall, plugging into computer, restart with plugged in, different cables(all apple), dimmed backlight, turned off find my ipad....nothing works!
Just got off a long conversation with apple, where they had no solution but to tell me that hardware fails. Great! I had a perfectly good ipad one week ago. I update to ios 7 and it is rendered useless. What a joke!
    Any solutions would be appreciated.

I do not know if it's iOS7 related or not. My 2 is still working. However, my first 2 was returned to best buy after the charging port on it died. So that can happen. ANd it happens with little to no warning. CHarges monday, doesn't on tuesday.
As far as I know the issues with 'unsigned' lightning devices is just the cable, not the power brick, but there's no official word (nor do I expect one)
Lightning cables have a little chip in them and if that chip isn't signed by Apple then your device kicks up an error but should still work.
However since this is an iPad 2, that's not the case since 2's use 30 pin chargers, not lightning.
Usually when a 2 doesn't charge, common troubleshooting is to swap out the charger, cable and outlet, to confirm or rule those out. Also to do the reset. (the soft reset that's holding down the sleep and home keys until it reboots). Also to look in and blow out the port in case there's some lint or such in there.
Usually those things fixes it. If not, then it could be the port.

  • IPad will no longer sync after iOS 5 update

I updated my Original iPad to iOS 5 and now it no longer syncs; it stays stuck at the preparing to backup step. This happens whether I try it via WiFi or via the standard way with the cable.
I'm thinking I should do a Restore from Backup and get it back to iOS 4.3.5.

I've been stymied at this backup failure (and thus sync and update since both go through the backup process first) for a long time, ever since release 4.3.3 or thereabouts.
Stay with me, please; this was part of my recent troubleshooting process.  I tried using the new install of Safari and sure enough, it only loaded blank pages.  iTunes (new release) Help also loaded only blank pages and then reported "computer not connected to the internet".
In seeking a resolution to the Safari connection issue, I came across this advice from Mike41: "If anyone runs across my post of 7/21/2011 regarding Safari 5.1 not connecting to the Internet on my Windows Vista system, BorisKon suggested I run a command prompt window as administrator and execute the command "netsh winsock reset" (then be sure to reboot). I tried this and now Safari 5.1 can access the Internet. See the discussion athttps://discussions.apple.com/message/15734035#15734035. I had to reboot for the command to take effect. "
I did this on my system and now Safari, iTunes, and the iPad backup all function 100%.
    Start/Run/"cmd" without quotes.
Type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes.
    Reboot the computer.
    Happy, happy, joy, joy...
