Taking an echo-ee sound out of a voice clip

Does anyone have a suggestion on what filter to use to take an echo-ee sound of a voice clip. Every thing I try just seems to enhance or do nothing to diminish the echo-ee sound.

Removing echo is next to impossible in post. You could try a noise gate, but unless you have very little echo and are willing to spend a lot of time tweaking the settings, it will just end up sounding choppy. You're best bet is a reshoot with proper mic placement in a better environment.

  • No Sound out- test one, two- Sound bars are lighting up but nothing coming out built in audio

For some reason I can't get any sound out of premier pro. I haven't used it many times before but I'm sure I ahd audio when I did.
I switched from doing compositing in After Effects to PPro because AE was chooking on a simple luma track matte using one video to matte/key another... so I find myself in PPro.
Is there anything simple I could be missing which would explain why I'm not getting audio out of my Built-in speakers from Premier? iTunes kicking out the jams no probs.\ as was AE
Strangly every time I start SoundFlowerBed it quits as soon as I leave it. Normally keeps a little flower icon in the menu bar (OS X) to access it and route it's audio bus (SoundFlower itself is a low-letency audio routing system extension) to various outputs.
With SoundFlowerBed I can access OS X Audio Setup (as opposed to Sound Control panel)

I found an uninstaller in Utilities and it has a cross thru it indicating not OS compatible. I dounble clicked and tells me it's a PPC app that can't be run (since I'm on 10.7.5 no rosetta for PPC). I'm not certain that relates to the actual SoundFlower that is running, it may just be a relic of auto-migration from a PPC MacPro.
Are you taking guess Jim or do you know there are issues b/w the two softwares?
I'm going to the Cycling74.com | Soundflower website now to investigate further.

When I connect my Mac Mini 2011 with Lion to a TV via HDMI and an earphone cable is plugged in, it´s not possible to choose sound out via hdmi, as opposed to connection via the minidisplay port. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Was just on the phone with Apple about this.
The solution was as follows for me anyway...
    Go to your Finder
    Choose the Go Menu
    Choose Computer
    Choose your Macintosh Hard Drive
    Choose your "Library" Folder
    Choose the "Preferences" Folder
There should be a folder called "Audio"
Move that whole folder to the trash
    Empty the Trash
    Restart from the Apple Menu
    When you are back up and running;
Choose System Preferences from the Apple Menu
         Choose Sound
In the output tab you should now be able to make the HDMI "Sticky"
Enjoy your sound over HDMI and no more dirty knees or broken backs unplugging the desktop speakers!

I want to plg my apple tv in to a projector but i want to break the sound out to a seperate audio solution. Is there a lead that I can use? The sound system has 2 x phono connections?

The sound can already be "broken out" by using the optiocal cable jack. That, of course, assumes your audio input is capable of optical inputs. If not, you might have alook into something like this: https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=opt ical+to+rca+converter&tbm=shop

It's really frustrating as this takes much time to complete work.

I'm not sure I follow your words Fuzzynormal. You've helped by offering the insight that my issue in Logic Pro 9 is not a bug but a feature. But fell short of enlightenment by being a judge of character and of how one should interact in this forum. You insinuate that I haven't tried to solve the issue on my own when in fact I have. These forums are always my last resort. You further suggest that I am complaining. This is not a complaint. It is a genuine issue that I cannot figure out. Then you think that Brazeca is holding my hand and being a nice guy. Brazeca is helping people like me who might not be as adept at using Logic Pro as probably you are. This community forum was established to raise questions, answers and dicussion to help Apple's customers better undertand their operating systems and related issues. You are doing a disservice by not contributing positively and by trying to make this forum what you want it to be. You may have all the time in the world to try figuring out stuff but we are not all like you. We all have different schedules and different levels of understanding. And that is what this forum is for - to help people move forward. If you can't contribute positively then keep silent. And by the way, you say to "read the words that are printed down to explain to you how that works" what words are you talking about? Why don't you be of some help instead of trying to own this forum.

  • No sound out of back line out MacPro Bootcamp 3.1 Windows 7 64bit

No sound out of back line out speakers.
    MacPro Early 2008
    Bootcamp 3.1
    Windows 7 64bit
    Realtek HD audio driver.
I have speakers plugged into the back line out.
They work in Mac 10.6.4 (as always) and in Parallels 5 Windows 7 using Bootcamp partition.
All other jacks work. In Realtek driver it shows nothing connected to that jack.
    Anybody else have this issue?
    Anybody else have solved this?

    Anyone at all?
Even if you don't have the issue yet have a similar setup. Maybe I can figure out if there's a driver update I may need.
BTW I KNOW others have this as I've seen this mentioned on other forums. What I do NOT know is whether it's "everyone" or there's something about systems that don't have this issue, I need to follow.

  • How I got sound out of my Audigy 2 in Bet

We all know how there's no drivers out yet for Vista Beta 2...so people are suggesting all kinds of things to try to get our SB cards to work... I have Vista Beta 2 Build 5384 installed and I have an Audigy 2 ZS card...and no matter what Audigy drivers I tried...no love. I decided to do a clean install of Vista this time and try something out...AND IT WORKS! Maybe you guys can try this out too and see if it works for you.
    Here's the steps I took:
. I downloaded the latest Vista 32-bit drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS from Creative's site...the one that's November '05 and named SBAX_PCDVTBETA_US_2_08_0002.exe
    2. I downloaded the latest Realtek AC'97 Vista Beta drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97-2.aspx?series=8&Software=True
    3. Install the Sound Blaster driver, you'll have to reboot...once you reboot it should try to install the drivers but will fail...atleast with me, I kept getting a time out error saying its failed.
    4. Now I don't have onboard soundon my Dell..just the SB card so I figured let me try Realtek drivers anyway... Install the Realtek driver, reboot, you should be prompted to install your soundcard driver.. I selected to let it show me the available drivers list and my Audigy was in the list...hit install and it installed the Audigy drivers for me! What the Realtek drivers have to do with anything, I don't know...but it worked for me so I'm happy
The only thing is that after testing all the speaker set ups up to 5.....5. didn't 00% work...my rear speakers and sub wouldn't produce a sound while testing while the rest of the speakers did...and then they would get distored...so I have to keep it in STEREO mode int he configuration. Doesn't matter to me since I just put my Logitech Z5500 speakers in "stereo X2" mode so sound comes out all the speakers...and the sub still will pound.
Hopefully this works for you guys who are having problems getting sound out in Beta 2...lemme know how it works!Message Edited by vice86 on 06-30-2006 07:53 PM

. The beta driver is flakey, use the XP driver
    2. there is no consistant way to install the driver, upon various OS reinstalls (I have installed at least a dozen times at this point, I am testing a variety of stuff under the covers) I have gotten things to work as easy as slick install upon OS install completion... to haveing to fight tooth and nail in safe mode (on the same machine)
    3. The Vista release was not a surprise, the number of major hardware vendors that have their ducks in a row with drivers is greater then those that do not. However, this is beta people, if you expect a finished product use XP... wait XP is a mismash of patchs and updates just like every other MS OS.
    4. if you want perfection and things to work right out of the box, get a MAC

  • [Solved] No sound out of M Audio 2496

I have an onboard Intel card and the MAudio card and I just use ALSA.
    aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: ALC883 Analog [ALC883 Analog]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: ALC883 Digital [ALC883 Digital]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    card 1: M2496 [M Audio Audiophile 24/96], device 0: ICE1712 multi [ICE1712 multi]
    Subdevices: 1/1
    Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    The Intel card works fine.
The MAudio card, however, does not output any sound at all. The snd_ice1712 module is loaded and when I send a sound file to the device, like so:
    aplay -D plughw:1,0 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
I can see the levels in envy24control moving, so I know the card is receiving the signal, but nothing comes out of the speakers.
    What I have tried:
Disabling the onboard card in the BIOS
Editing /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf to make the 2496 load in the first slot
Unmuted all the channels, devices etc in alsamixer and envy24control
My ~/.asoundrc is from the ALSA wiki for this card
Took the card to a neighbours and plugged it into a Windows box and (eventually) got sound out of it..
Read the threads on these boards and searched the web for non-Pulse fixes
I am at a loss. I know the card works, but I can't seem to get a peep out of it.
Is there something obvious that I am missing?

  • Can't get sound out of imac

I am a musician and am trying to mix down some tracks off of a hard disk. I have a hard disc recorder and a mixing board that i am running into an M-audio Firewire solo. I have the signal flow going into the firewire solo and then into my mac. when i click on the system preferences and go to sound I have the fire wire solo as the input and the headphone as the output. i see good signal coming into the mac but can't seem to get any sound out of the mac. the headphne out is hte only thing I see as an output which i have selected. please help - I cant hear anything!!

.. It can't be an m-audio issue when i have a great input signal could it?? ..
with my humble experience of 20 years with Macs - no, that is not neccessairly a (computer's) logic conclusion ..
as said, I just have some know-how with iM/camcorders... and we do experience some same 'effects', e.g. 'cause camcorder is import-disabled, as many Euroepan devices are ... or, we experience control over camera via firewire but no picture etc.pp.
    different approach:
are you able to use your devcie with other apps, e.g. Logic, Grarageband.
it is an audio-interface, I assume, you're using in mainly for ... ehm, audio.

  • Can't get sound out of safari

    hey all,
i am not able to get sound out of my mac?! And thats only on Safari. I cant watch any videos now! please help.
    thanks in advance

    Hi
I'm far from an expert on "sound" issues. I believe OS X's sound file is designed to be functional for 16 bit sound files, not 24 bit. 24 bit sound file offer enhanced sound quality, but are larger in size. Perhaps not yet practical for web sites.
explaining the difference between the two settings.
    Thanks for the green star.

  • Analog sound out of SPDIF

Analog sound out of SPDIF' I have connected a digital coax cable from the digital out to a Harman Kardon stereo receiver. The cable has been run to another room in order to watch downloaded shows/movies in my living room.
I receive DTS and DD sound just fine using this connection however PC sounds/MP3s and other analog sounds do not work. Is there a way to get this to work without having to add cables? Being forced to manually switch the output signal on the computer and on the stereo receiver is not a very good option.
If this is not supported are there any other sound cards that do support this? I can't imagine I am the first person to want to be able to watch DTS movies and listen to MP3s on a stereo receiver without having to swtich inputs/use a different set of cables.

? I just wanted to what I have experienced based on my digital spdif connection:
After looking at the support site for stereo receivers, I see the following statement:
"If you are going to connect from the Digital Out on your Sound Blaster to the Digital Input on your receiver, you will only receive multi channel audio when your are playing DVD games, or DVD movies, or standalone AC3 files. You will only hear stereo (front left and right channels) when playing MP3, MID, AVI, WAC, or WMA et."
This statement is confusing bc the last sentence leads me to believe that I will hear MP3, and WMA audio from the digital out but it will only be in stereo sound, not surround sound. That is fine with me, I simply want to be able to hear sound from a single cable.
Can someone clear that statement up from the support site? Will any MP3, AVI, or WMA? sound play on a stereo using the digital coax input?

  • After installing an update I am no longer able to hear sound out of my speakers. A red light comes on where the headphone jack is. I have already attempted to trip to switch with a wooden toothpick in the headphone jack but have not had luck.

after installing an update I am no longer able to hear sound out of my speakers. A red light comes on where the headphone jack is. I have already attempted to trip to switch with a wooden toothpick in the headphone jack but have not had luck.

Have you gone into system prefs nad made sure that the headphone port is set to audio out. And not audio in.
Also make sure that you are selecting built in speakers for your audio output.
If that does not fix it try doing a Pram reset.
    Shut your mac down.
    Press the startup button.
Hold down the following keys. Command Option P and R. Wait till you hear the chime 2 times. Then let go. See if that fixes it.

  • Sound out on 5 hd channels

charter hd box , second box, sound out or get one word then out and one word out etc , only on 5 hd channels. tried optical and coaxle does the same on both. sound does work played through tv on hdmi.  is it charter or my denon reciever  causing the problem or something else

    Charter.
If the issue happens on some channels but not others, that automatically means there is a problem with the source its coming from (i.e. your cable box)
Anything i say is not a direct response from Best Buy or Geek Squad. I just post on here to add my insight.

  • I getting no sound out of the USB connection in my car from my new iPod Classic. Has anyone encountered this problem?

I getting no sound out of the USB connection in my cars from my new iPod classic. The song name artist display on the console in the car but no audio. This is happening on 2 cars - Nissan Rogue and Acura TL. My older iPod classic played fine in these cars. Has anyone encountered this issue?

I have a similar problem with a 160 gb Classic, about 5 years old - if I move the plug one channel may be heard and tehn the other. The interface works but not the sound. Different ipods eg nano work perfectly.
The two cars I have are an Audi and a BMW and both have manufacturer connectors
