Taking an Impossible Amount of time to Render a video

Greetings,
I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for Video editing and it is taking a very very very very long time to render. *about 15 Hours for an Hour and Twenty minuet video. It is exporting to H.264 MP4. HD 1080P
I have 12 Gig of Ram and I'm using AMD Athlon II 4x 640 in An HP Pavilion P6727 Desktop Computer.
What is taking so long? If I was to boost my memory up to 16 Gig Ram would it make that big of a difference?
Thanks! -Cheers-

The amount of time it takes to render your video depends on how fast your processor is, how much RAM you have, what operating system you're using, what model of camcorder your video is coming from and what resolution and format it is. If you are using photos in your project, your rendering time can also increase and the program may freeze if your photos are larger than 1000x750 pixels in size.
What model of camcorder is your video coming from, etc?
Are you talking about just rendering your timeline for smooth playback or are you talking about rendering to output a finished video?

  • 'Personal Web Sharing' is taking an indefinite amount of time to start

    Hi, for some reason, 'Personal Web Sharing' is taking an indefinite amount of time to startup. This started happening after I installed PHP 5. Any idea on how I can fix this/debug this?

    What do you mean by indefinite exactly?
    Have you repaired permissions since installing PHP5?
    Indefinite, as it forever stays as 'Web Sharing starting up...'. Yes, I have repaired perms.

  • Waiting for Review taking an excessive amount of time.

    Hey guys,
    Just a quick question: I recently went through the whole iOS submission and review process, got my initial review, made a fix, got a response within 24 hours, made that fix and resubmitted. It now has been 9 days since that submission, and the app is still waiting for review. Has anyone else experienced this at all? Is there any way to expediate the review process? Or is it possible that though the app is marked as waiting for review, but there is something missing that it actually needs in order to be waiting for review?
    Thanks in advance.

    Apple just released iOS 8, and 8.0.1, and 8.0.2, and the bash fixes, and Yosemite is next. There are lots of developers submitting new apps right now for all these new operating systems.

  • Amount of time for backup with Time Machine

    How long should it take to backup my hard drive with Time Machine?
    I have an iMac (late 2007).  My hard drive has 222.88 GB of data according to Time Machine which is now running.  However, it has only backed up 11.47 GB of data since it started almost 7 hours ago.  It is backing up to an iOmega 1TB USB 2 partitioned external hard drive. The partion for the backup is 444 GB or so of space.
    Can the backup be speeded up?  It seems like an it is taking an extradordinary amount of time for the backup.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Andy,
    We have found that JMX Mbean registration is one factor in startup time, if you have JMX turned on. On joining the cluster, nodes register their MBeans with the MBean servers. If every node has management=all, every node is an MBean server node, whether its needed or not. This can result in an MBean registration storm as every node registers their Mbeans with every other node at startup. Its especially noticable if you have a lot of caches in your cluster. We suggest that only MBean server nodes have the management=all setting to minimize this registration process on startup.

  • How to calculate the time to render a JTable?

    Hi all,
    I have a table that is taking quite some time to render after I edit one of its cells.
    I'd like to know the complete amount of time it takes to render all the cells.
    Considering the cells are rendered inside the java classes, I have no clue how can I do that.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Tried VisualVM and it's really a nice tool. The problem is that it shows only the time for each method to run.Exactly, so if you look at the event queue thread and drill down you can see which method is 'taking quite some time' after you did an edit. Note that you typically need to drill down a bit into the Swing painting stack but ultimate it's end up in the methods you wrote.
    See for example: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/827/simplecpusampling.png/ when sampling this program:
    import java.awt.EventQueue;
    import javax.swing.JFrame;
    import javax.swing.JTable;
    import javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel;
    public class TestCPUSampling {
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                public void run() {
                    DefaultTableModel slowModel = new DefaultTableModel(5, 5) {
                        @Override
                        public Object getValueAt(int row, int column) {
                            try {
                                Thread.sleep(10);
                            catch (InterruptedException e) {
                                e.printStackTrace();
                            return super.getValueAt(row, column);
                    JFrame frame = new JFrame("Test");
                    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DISPOSE_ON_CLOSE);
                    frame.getContentPane().add(new JTable(slowModel));
                    frame.pack();
                    frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null);
                    frame.setVisible(true);
    }Obviously Oracle should do something about that horribly slow Thread#sleep() method...
    But if your getValueAt() is called 15 million times, then it's more likely you have a loop like a TableModelListener which modifies the table model when the table model changes.

  • Sound cuts out after any given amount of time, only way to turn back on is to reboot.

    For reference, I am using a fully up-to-date mid-2012 model rMBP. Attached to my MacBook via USB I also have an M-Audio KeyStation 49i, which is where I have my headphones plugged in (probably not related in any way, but just noting this).
    I first encountered this issue while using Chrome and listening to music on SoundCloud with Garageband open after the last Mavericks update yesterday. I initially thought it was a Chrome bug, and in doing some research, I found that other Chrome users were having the same issue as me, but it was related to PepperFlash (a version of the standard Flash player), and disabling it in Chrome Canary fixed the issue for them.
    Unfortunately, it did not fix the issue for me, but I have refrained from using Chrome since then and stuck to Safari to ensure that it's not two issues with the same outcome.
    Then I stumbled across all of the Mavericks users that are having sound problems; anything from crackling/popping to not working at all. It seemed, though, that everyone that was having the sound cut out for them entirely were not only having this happen after their laptops came back from sleep mode (which is not the case for me), but were able to fix it by restarting Coreaudio[d] or -- if they had been using the headphone jack on their Macs -- they just had to plug it in again and take it back out. Neither of these worked or were applicable to my situation. Some were able to get it working again by resetting the PRAM/NVRAM, and a few others seemed to be able to bypass the issue by using Soundflower, but neither of these solutions worked for me either. The only way I can get sound to work again is to restart my computer entirely.
    After doing so, I am only able to listen to audio for a certain amount of time. It seems to vary depending on how much memory the task is taking up. Like I'll be able to listen to a track or two on SoundCloud, or attempt to record into Garageband for five minutes or so. If I'm in a Garageband project that already has a lot of tracks, I'll be lucky if I can even get through a few seconds before it cuts out entirely. There are very quiet crackling/pop sounds every once and awhile, but it is hard for me to distinguish if that is just the natural state of the hardware I am using or if it is related to background system sounds.
    I'm at wit's end trying to figure out what the problem is, mostly because there are so many others with similar issues and varying hardware/software setups that it's hard to track down exactly what my own situation is.
    I'd like to know where I should be exporting any error logs from so that someone can take a look at this issue.
    Thank you.

    After doing some additional testing, I was able to get the sound working again without rebooting by:
    1. Unplugging the MIDI device.
    2. Resetting the audio input and output to "built-in".
    3. Plugging back in the MIDI device.
    4. Changing the audio input and output back to the MIDI device.
    Still, though, the sound only lasts for a little while, and there doesn't seem to be anything indicating how or why it stops.

  • Update 3.1.3 Vault backup takes an inordinate amount of time...

    Installed the update, 3.1.3. Now clicking Vault icon to update the Vault, the update takes an inordinate amount of time. In addition after the update the Vault icon, lower left, remains red.
    Normal Vault update goes to the server, prior to the update it ran quite fast then icon turned black. As a test I created a new Vault on my Desktop (deleted the original), again update takes an inordinate amount of time, still the Vault icon is red.
    MacBook Pro, 8 GB RAM, 10.6.8, 2.4 GHz i5.

    Hi shutterp33d,
    That speed answer is a yes and no. To the local drive yes speed is almost where it was prior to the 3.1.3 update. Over to the network drive it is quite slow. Even direct connected to an external vault update is much slower than before the 3.1.3 update.
    My network is AirPort Extreme to which I have a Pogoplug connected with RJ45, a Seagate 1.5 TB external drive is connected to the Pogoplug via USB 2.0.
    At present Aperture vault update has been running forty-five minutes being one third through. So, shutdown the Pogoplug did a direct cable connect to the Seagate from the laptop still vault update is taking a longer time than before the update.
    This time the icon has changed from red to black. Then I disconnected the USB cable direct connect, reconnected the external to the the Pogoplug. Maybe this is a Pogoplug hit maybe not.
    Thank you for listening.

  • Continuing a loop for a set amount of time

    Hi,
    I'm am trying to alter a previously written program have run into a problem.
    The program is set up so that when the input exceeds a set level an output voltage to a buzzer is created; the buzzer continues as long as there is an input.  What I need it to do is to continue this output for a set amount of time.
    I've been searching the forum and found this straight forward solution from adamsjr.
    "The easiest way to do this is to use a two Tick Count functions. The first
    one is outside of a While loop, the second one is inside of the While loop.
    Wire the first one through a tunnel into the While loop, add on the appropriate
    ms (5*1000), wire the sum to one input of a compare function. Wire the
    other input of the compare function to the second Tick Count function. Exit
    the loop when the compare shows the second Tick count value is greater than
    the summed value."
    I've got placed the output subVI into a while loop and followed the above directions and this doesn't seem to work. I'm wondering if I would also have to include the input subVI into the loop or is there another possible solution
    Thanks ahead of time,
    Kristen

    Hi Kristen,
    You have the compare function implemented incorrectly.  You need to make sure that the first terminal of the "Greater than or equal" function connected to the output of the sum, and the second terminal to the tick count in the while loop.  The first terminal corresponds to x parameter and the second terminal is for the y parameter.  So if x is greater than or equal to y, then the loop will need to exit.
    You can see how long a subVI is taking if you put a flat sequence structure within your subVI around the entire subVI code.  The first frame would only have a tick count going into an indicator, the middle frame your normal code, and then the final frame would contain another tick count wired into another indicator.  Then you can subtract the second indicator value from the first and get hold long it took to execute the middle (core) of your code for that subVI.
    I highly suggest using the highlight execution and probes and other debugging techniques such as breakpoints to diagnose where the data is being held up.

  • Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time?

    Is there a way to create a custom screensaver with pics/slides that display for different amounts of time? Or even add a "video slide" into the screensaver?
    My business has 3 TVs displayed in our lobby, each with its own apple TV and they are all linked to the same photo stream. Currently the Atv screensaver displays the photostream pictures of our products for the default 3 seconds. We just added pics/slides that now display messages and useful info for our customers but I want that info to be displayed for a longer period of time than the pictures to give people a chance to read it.
    I tried using flickr and powerpoint as a work around but no luck.  I created a slide in powerpoint with play length of 15 secs and saved it as a wmv file.  I added that file to a "screensaver" set in flickr and pointed the Atv screensaver to that flickr set.  It still displays everything, pics and the wmv file at the default 3 sec.
    I know I can increase the duration of all pics in the screensaver to display for longer but the goal is to have the pics display at 3 secs and the info slides to display at 15 secs.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    No that's not possible.
    If you have any suggestions that you think might enhance the Apple TV you can send Apple your feedback here

  • Monitoring user logins and amount of time logged in.

    I presently have an open directory master with several Mac Pro's authenticating against it. The owner of the Mac Pro would like to do billing to the other departments based on who was logged in and the amount of time they were logged in.
    Normally the "last" command would be perfect for this but with the removal of the wtmp file in 10.5 the last command is flaky at best. I will restart its self multiple times per day or not at all for a month so it is hard to write a script to pull the data out of it.
    Does anyone know of a way in 10.5 and higher to find out the type of information that the last command displayed, IE who logged in, what time they logged in and what time they logged out.
    I need this information for the Mac Pro's but can pull the information from the open directory server if there is a way to get it from their.
    Does anyone know where the last command data is being logged since the removal of the wtmp file.

    neither of them seem to give me the login and log out times like the "last" command does. Is there not anyway on the open directory server to pull this data?

  • Amount of time for clients to join a Coherence cluster?

    What are some of the factors that affect the amount of time it takes for a client (without local storage) to join the cluster?
    We are seeing some tests where the time is a few seconds and other tests where the time is 10's of seconds (up to 30-40 seconds). Would like it to be as deterministic as possible. Any ideas?

    Re Time Machine
    I have an external  hard drive with files I backed up manually over the past 2 years 1TB of memory.
    I am finally taking the leap to use Time machine to back everything.
    will I have to reformat that drive, thus wiping my previous back ups?
    can I split it the drive in two partitions?
    Also
    as I have two separate Macbook Pro's- one older than the other.
    OSX 10.68
    the other is
    OSX 10.75
    can I back them up separately?
    or even synch and merge files and folders etc? between the two?

    You CAN use a drive with files already on it to store Time Machine backups. But long term, that is not recommended. You do not need to reformat or re-partition the drive to do this. Once Time Machine Backups are established, you could remove the old files.
    But do not delete Time Machines files with the Finder -- that can cause it to lose its place and lose everything.
    With the cost of backup drives under US$100, it might be a better idea in the long run to get another drive. Best results from Time Machine is a drive about 3 times larger than the drive(s) you are backing up.

    Hi cowboyincognito,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    If you don't have the option to play music by genre on your iPhone, try this step to find the Genre option:
    Browse your music library.
    You can browse your music by playlist, artist, or other category. For other browse options, tap More. Tap any song to play it.
    To rearrange the tabs in the Music app, tap More, then tap Edit and drag a button onto the one you want to replace.

    What did Apple tell you about what they did (or did not) find here?
    See if working on the main disk is any faster.
    USB2 is glacial, as I/O interconnects go.  And USB2 disks have been known to fail, or sometimes to drop back to USB1 speeds, too.  FireWire 800 is substantially faster than USB2, but still not as fast as the internal drive connections can provide.
    Put another way, start varying your configuration, and see which configuration changes (still) have the problem, and which don't.
