Taking back the streets.

I'd be grateful for help gaining ownership of the marketing device I bought. I don't have a TV in my house and accustomed to using macs which don't regard me as a mark every time I boot up. I do not want to be told not to shut down because someone thinks I need X download. And as far as I can tell there is no way to circumvent this invasion of my space but remove the battery. I want to decide right or wrong when and what I will download. I want to decide when I'm done with my laptop. I do not want AVG or Norton in my face every time I open a screen. It''s not that different from having big brother's camera in every room of the house. Please some logistical help in opting out of all marketing and most of the fear and loathing. I don't get on line that much with that laptop. e use macs to go on line in what i never realize was such a serene environment. This computer is like living in Baghdad in some ways. I just do audio on the laptop. I tried doing a signature yesterday to describe my system and my use of it. NO dice.

Thanks Brad, but `uninstalling what you wish' is not a good way to go. The first level of Toshi TS, [ at least the guy I got] can't even do that with impunity. `Took two hours and then some to fix that one. I'm am looking for some focused item by item help with disabling everything possible from the start up menu.
That's a very difficult thing to try to help someone do. Hence my frustration. I need to come up with a question that first level TS can't answer.... got it, what is the change from a 20 dollar bill for a purchase totaling 14.53 no calculator please. For that start menu in msconfig, you need someone very familiar with toshi's add on stuff. I could live w/o the FN key if I had another way to turn the the coffee shop modem on and off. Their value added pkg kills those things if you disable it and you usually can't just reeanble and get them back either.
I understand about disabling updates but then you have to find out how to disable the constant whining about it from the fear and loathing department. I particularly despise the feature that says "don't shut down while we install 15 updates!" Who the hell do they think they are?
Our version of paradise runs on solar energy via batteries and an inverter so when it's time to shut down that's what I need to do. Not when some **bleep** black sandwich says it's ok. I have a nearly terminal problem with authority. So that kind of crap doesn't go down very well. I just take out the battery. There is no override that I can find. That's a problem.

ITunes used to have a bar that showed me what content on my iPad was taking up the memory. The bar is gone. How do I get it back?

How do I get back the bar that iTunes used to have which showed me what content on my iPad was eating up memory? The iPad itself doesn't seem to show that, I had to hook to iTunes to see it. Now that's gone.

I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

Having the preview window up to get a quick and good overview of your mail is very handy and I understand you would like to get that feature back!
Have you tried to close the mail app using cmd+q and opening again? Have you tried taking your mouse the whole way to the right in the mail window and try to "drag" the preview window back out again?

BRING BACK THE CROP TOOL

The one tool that i use everday, the croptool, is gone from CS4.
I hate the multiple artboards, without the same co-ordinates really, what good are they, but i rant.
The crop tool was best for making a box around selections, (crop to selections, release, voila, a box
that fits perfect to selections), Perfect for print production, never mind pasting between the suite.
Slice does not have the accuracy.
Please bring it back, or a filter that can "draw" boxes around selections with accuracy.

Yeah I've been reading all over internet and all over the design blog I use to read and taking off the crop tool was kinda mistake. I use it a lot on the office for pinting and for quick shooting of differente art works. I do like the art boards option but is certainly does not do the things crop tool used to make.
For me personally has been really complicated doing things I used to do so quickly. For the next version of Illustrator would be great to bring it back. I think all people would agree with me, if not refer to any blog and you'll see people commentaries about it.
Either way CS4 is a good version and I really like artboard feature, but as I say doesnt do what crop tool does. Bring it back please.

Canu2019t see the street/house number field anymore in infotype 0009

I am not able to see the street/house number field anymore in infotype 0009 in system Whatever I tried to change in T588M we didnu2019t get it back on the screen. Does any one idea of this.Please help

As far as I am aware /house number field STRAS is not standard in infotype 0009 screens
Its likely then importing new code from SAP has perhaps overwritten some of your customizing in this case?
Please see if note 431930 helps you retrieve field STRAS on IT0009 - even though this note is provided by SAP - use of STRAS is in 0009 is considered a modification

downloaded some games from the itunes store, on my ipod, then I had to restore my PC causing me to have to redownload itunes. Now I tring to download more games so how do I put the new games on the ipod without taking off the old ones? Because if I press sync then I it will take off all extisting games? And is there a way to back up everything including games and videos.

You can't. Games from the iTunes music store are only for the iPod 5th gen.

On my iPhone 4s the video play back , the audio is very low . All other audio is good on phone even older video plays nice and loud . I have no idea what is wrong?

I have tried holding down the home and power button countless of times. It doesnt respond at all. Plug my phone to a charger and hold down the power button and my phone switched on. But it said Activation Required and said connect to Itunes. As e screen remains on the connect to Itunes screen, I disconnect the charger from my phone and my phone went dead instantly. My battery is full btw. Tried connecting to Itunes through my Macbook Pro but iTunes doesnt detect my device and the apple logo flashes for about a few seconds on my phone and then disappear and then came back on again. My Iphone has been connected to my laptop for about 30 mins and the apple logo has been coming on and off for 30 minutes now and Itunes has not detect my device yet.

Problems in taking back up

My client have specific problems in taking back up. I m using 8i. My client wants to delete all the previous records in the database and wants to store it in the CD. Now again he wants to view that old data in the CD, but don't want to download it to his system. how to do that?

I agree that the easiest option is to start over with Time Machine but then I lose 3 months history
Not if you set the old TM disk off to the side unplugged and turned off. If in the next couple months you discover you need a file that isn't in the new TM data you can always connect the old and search for it. You don't trust it any longer so it isn't like you're going to reformat it and use it for any other purpose, right?

so i sit down and drink my tea then a BT Openreach Van type thing comes down street pulls up outside my house has orange lights flashing on the top and a yellow bar on it at the back. then 15 minutes later a normal BT Openreach van pulls in the street. Wonder what they up to Hope me infinity not gonna cut off LOL

Taking Apart the MBP Screen?

I would like to check and insure that the camera cable in my MBP's screen is secure. It is non-functional and may be the source of a sleeping problem for my laptop.
All I want to do is look, and if there is some kind of simple, basic disconnection, plug it back in.
Has anyone done this, or know how to get the MBP display module apart?

Nevermind, I see here that taking apart the screen requires taking apart the main computer module as well.

Great products from apple versus the average man in the street.

hi evryone.
my name is brian and i live in a country south africa.i don't own any apple product and her in lies my complaint.
how is it possible that any company can design what they call a great product but which only a few can afford.
i know that living in SA there is the rand/dollar exchange rate issue but sit back and think a little.
if the cost of living is a one to one ratio then any product lets say the apple i-phone costs $500.00
hence in SA the product should cost R500.00(excluding profit margins etc)
but here products will cost you R8000.00 which in turn (ratio wise) will cost $8000.00
i don't think that any sane person will pay $8000.00 for an i-phone.
why! if an excellent product with the likes of i-pad , i-phone and i-pods are so highly rated can the average man in the street not afford them.
i would love to own an i-pad and an i-phone,i wish my 2 children could have i-pads or i-phones and i-pods, but because of issues wrt pricing in SA it not just possible.
is there no way that apple can (besides build all these great products) work out strategies which will allow individuals ,as myself, to be able to afford these kind of products.
or is that not the 'jobs' description of having a great product.

As far as pricing is concerned, the exchange rate gives US$900 currently at around R6,050.00. Add on shipping costs and local dealer margins, not to mention import taxes and local sales taxes if they apply and you can see how the price mounts.
Cost of living, unfortunately, is not a measure much heeded by business. They have to make a profit on the product.
Basically, it's down to the economic climate and international perceptions of the SA economy as to where exchange rates fall, and only your government can do much to influence that.
