Taking free space out after TDMS copy

Hello Experts,
I have performed a TDMS copy from Production to one of our quality systems. Since I have taken only 6 months data the size of our quality system Database is reduced which was previously equal to Production.
1)At present around 1 TB of space is free in PSAPSR3 tablespace whichI want to bring to OS level filesystem. I do not wantto go for whole tablespace reorg due to some specific reasons like large no of tables with Long fields, space issues etc.
If anyone of you have faced a similarsituation pleasedo guide.
Regards,
Umesh

Hello Rajesh,
I already found tables for reorg and tried reorg for some of those tables , but the space released after table reorg is at tablespace level and not at OS file system.  So again the issue remains the same to pull out space from tablespace without reorg.
I have searched various forums but everthing at the end comes to tablespace reorg . Since I have space contraints , I am searching for workaround for this.
Regards,
Umesh.

  • How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc which has ample remaining free space? After preparing the new video for burning and clicking on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject.

How can I add new content in iDVD to a DVD-RW disc with a video previously successfully recorded on it? (The disc has ample remaining free space.)
After preparing the new video for burning and clicking in the File menu on Burn to iDVD, I get a window saying the disc's already recorded and that I can either Erase or Eject. My assumption has been that iDVD would automatically find the free space and continue with the new recording from there. I'd be grateful if anyone can shine light on this.

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.

  • 40gb free space appeared after clean install of Mac OS X and time machine restore? What happened?

Recently, my computer had a display problem, and I brought it in to the Apple store to get it fixed. When they returned it, they had replaced not only the display but also the logic board, and the hard drive, and they did a clean install of the operating system. After OS X was clean installed onto my computer, I restored my files from Time Machine, but my hard drive now shows about 40 gigs more free space than I had before, when I originally brought my computer in. All my files seem to be in place. What am I missing? I was guessing that the cache of my web browsers have been cleared... But 40 Gigs seems like a lot of space to recover solely through clearing the web cache. Any ideas?

Hi, one question & one suggestion...
What possible things are connected at home but not at the store, inlude every cable, etc.
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • Hard Disk free space lick after system restore windows 8.1

I did a system restore and after that, the laptop was functioning slowly. I realised that the disk usage was spiking. Later I realised also that I was constanlty loosing free space from my hard disk without downloading anything or any action. I run the windows
performer recorder when the spikes occurs.Link in OneDrive https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=26DCEC24336471AC%21106  . Furthermore when the laptop is on idle the disk usage goes to 100%. Task manager shows that most of the usage is from svchost.exe(defragsvc).
(I dont think it is a scheduled act from windows to run defragging at the moment). What could be? Any advice?

    Hi,
From your recorder information, we could see these 5 process below take high disk space:
    WPRUI.exe
    System
    vprot.exe
    avgui.exe
    avgcefrend.exe
Since you run the Windows performance toolkit to trace the log, exclude WPRUI.exe and system. It seems you use AVG product.
I suggest you disable or uninstall them temporarily to check if the disk usage decrease.

  • Copy QAS customizing after TDMS copy from Production are finished

    Hi Gurus,
I need your help whit this issue. I use TDMS to create a second client in QAS with Production data but I have to manteinance a QAS customizing.
The TDMS copy was finished OK. So, the customizing is same as the production system; but I need the customizing from QAS system.
Have I import ALL transport to QAS in the new client ?? Or I can do a client copy??
How to copy the customizing QAS to the new client in the same system??
If I do a client copy with SAP_CUST profile, the documentation said that the appliction data was deleted.
         SAP_CUST
Client-dependent Customizing, including authorization profiles, are copied. The application data is deleted and the user data is retained.

I don´t know how is the best practice for this situation...
Somebody can help me for this?
    Thanks a lot.
    Sergio.

    Hello.
What we do here (sucessfully) is to install in QAS all transports in the queue to the production system. Of course for that you have to be sure that your queue really represents the delta between QAS and PRD.
Actually that's already how we did it before TDMS: we made full system copies, but then imported the queue back in QAS so that we would keep the customizing (and ABAP).

  • HT3680 How to get my free space back after quitting the disk utility's erase free space

    Hi,
I started the DU's erase free space--fastest way method.  When it almost completed, I had a pop up that said that I need to free up disk space.
So then i was flustered enought to just quit the program because I didnt want to free up disk space and I was frustrated.
Not knowing it would still keep whatever it was that took the remaning disk space on my Mac.
How to I get this removed so I am back to before?

Sorry I don't really understand.... there are no partitions on the drive.  How do I repartition it?
And should I use "erasing free space" or "erase" for wiping clean my drive of everything?  Erase seems to be faster last tiem I tried.
    Thanks!

  • PPOME Organization structure gone after TDMS copy - can PFAL help recover?

    To all you HR experts,
First off we do NOT use SAP HCM, but I believe this question relevant to this area - our installation recently wiped a development testing client clean, then copied the data back from production using the TDMS tool. Now we are at a stage where the copy is complete. I was working on some purchase order release strategy changes, and migrated them to this testing client - only to find the PPOME organizational data missing. Upon further review, I find that this data is part of HR and we don't do SAP HR. My question is whether anyone has experience with this issue and/or PFAL, and how would you recommend resolving?
    Thanks,

  • I can't switch apps on my iPhone 4.  I have 9.3 GB of free space out of 30 GB. Rebooting doesn't fix the problem.  Does anyone know of a good fix?

I can't switch apps/programs on my iPhone 4.  Whatever app I'm in is the only app I can use unless I restart my iPhone.  Then I can choose a new app/program to use but then it's stuck on that app/program until I reboot my iPhone.  Syncing it with iTunes doesn't seem to fix the problem and I regularly close apps/programs so I never have many multi-tasking.
This problem sometimes goes away for a brief period of time (an hour or two) but it's pretty much been this way for the past 48 hours.
I have a 32 GB iphone 4 that has the following on it:  4.9 GB Audio, 8.2 GB Photos, 6.2 GB Apps, 0.58 GB Other, 9.3 GB Free.
    I am using iOS v 4.3.5
Does anyone know of a good fix?

You mentioned rebooting, have you tried a cold reboot? That is is holding the home and lock buttons down for about 15 seconds?
Ignore the slider asking to turn off, just keep holding. Once it goes off continue to hold for about 10ish more seconds and it will eventually turn back on.
    Suggestion only.

  • Out of free space?

I had 400mb of free space. I added one new music album and wanted to sync. I get a message no photos are synced (the 20mb i had on it were gone) because i'm out of free space. After syncing, the info says i still have 365 mb of free space. I sync again, wanting to get my pictures back on the device, but get same message telling me not enough space. But i do have enough! What's wrong?

I think it's something to do with the recent 3.1 upgrade - did you download and install that? I haven't found a solution yet but it appears to be listing my entire music library as "other" now and so I can't use the space I've got. It's really weird.

  • Lion takes long time to find free space after emptying trash

After emptying the trash, I've noticed that Lion does not see the additional free space until after doing a reboot, and even after that it takes a long time for it to find all the new free space.  Anybody know what's wrong with the trash system?

Absolutely nothing is wrong with it.  See Missing disk space in Lion.

  • After FireFox 4 Betas installed itself I still have Firefox (3.6.15) on my programs list taking up space. Should I uninstall it ?

I was just wondering if I should uninstall The old version of firefox to free up space

I did exactly the same thing, tried installing without having a look at the space requirements. After the first failed install the internal memory was down to just a few kb free space. After a reboot approximately 14 MB is freed, but I'm still not back to the original free space I had before the failed install.
    Anything else I should do?

  • Vanishing Free Space

I am running 10.8.2 on a late 2008 MacBook Pro.  I used to have 160 GB of free space before I undertook this new project!
I have been buying some Hello! Project concert (Japanese) blu rays that I wanted to add to my music collection for my Apple TV... but I really only like one of the artists, so I am only converting certain chapters.
I purchased a blu ray player for my mac, and downloaded MakeMKV for the blu ray ripping chore.  I ripped two of the discs to my hard drive since I had enough space, and used Handbrake to convert the chapters I want to MP4's.  I then move those off to my iTunes server and then deleted the MKV files (about 36 GB each).  I noticed that my available space didn't even become close to what it used to be, so I decided to look further.
I ripped another blu ray and then noticed my free space.  After the rip:
    MKV file is 31.2 GB
    Finder reports: 98.04 GB available
Disk Utility reports: 55.35 GB available
I then moved the MKV file to the trash, and immediately after emptying  (it takes a good 20 min to delete)
Finder reports: 66.84 GB available (during the emptying process)
    After the trash is emptied:
    Finder reports 98.04 GB available
Disk Utility reports 31.34 GB available
I've run OmniDiskSweeper and Mountail Lion Cache Cleanup, and they don't show where the space could be.
Any ideas?  Is this just a Mountain Lion bug?  I'm afraid to rip more blu rays as it won't be long as I run out of space after deleting them!

Is there any way to disable local snapshots?  I really don't want these stored on the local computer, especially if I am temporarily working with such large files.
Edit:  I did find the solution to disable local backups. Finder reports that I now have 227.54 GB of available space.  Since I am always home, I would rather have my backups only on my time capsule.  Thanks for the info!

  • Osx 10.9 disk (file vault), view free space

I want to know about real disk free space. After upgrade to  osx 10.9 something strange happened. Disk information shows that I have more free space than real disk capacity. In terminal I can see  different numbers, but after deletion of files the is no changes.
    I have attached pictures.

Mine looks like it's coming up correctly…
Have you tried mounting it from another startup to see if that reports the same thing? What's a little disconcerting is the Used space not appearing. I would check thing out with your available disk utilities (Disk Utilty, DiskWarrior etc)
