Taking iPhone 3G from Vista to MacbookPro
I just purchased a MBP and I now need to switch over my iPhone settings and such with the new system. I have transferred everything over using my ipod as a disk and that worked perfect. but now I need to get my iPhone up and running with the new mac. If I connect everything should flow right?
Before syncing contact information and calendar events, enter one contact in the Address Book and one calendar event in iCal - make these up if needed which can be deleted later.
This should provide a merge prompt for this data when syncing, which you want to select.
When you sync, iTunes will create a backup of your iPhone, which includes data stored on the iPhone not included with the sync process such as; most iPhone settings, SMS messages, notes, recent calls, call favorites, and photos captured by your iPhone. The backup is done as the first step with the sync process.
The iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased as part of the sync process, but if you transferred your iTunes library from your PC to your Mac, you can restore the same content when syncing.

I am grateful for any advice.A hard drive if it has failed will sometimes allow you to boot into windows but may not work completely (Eg: In a scenario, where system partition ;where windows is installed works fine but logical partition of hard drive has gone bad).
On certain conditions, if the hard drive is on verge of failure may/may not respond completely. I would suggest you to run a diagnostics using Seagate Seatools which works on any hard drive irrespective of manufacturer to actually confirm if your hard drive has failed.
Also, any hard drive can fail in spite of it been 1yr old or 1day old as its all manufactured in bulk and most of it comes from China

iphone 4S - Windows Vista - 64 Bit (and photoshop elements 9.0) is not recognizing my iphone as a camera - therefore I cannot download pictures from my iphone. iTunes works fine with the iPhone, but I do not see it in "My Computer" when connected via USB. I'm backing up my new iphone 5 from icloud and it's taking forever for my photos to download. It's been going for 4 days. It's downloaded 1400 out of 1900 photos. Am I doing something wrong?
I think you may not using the right technical terms. When backing up to icloud, there is no way you'd get a message saying things will be wiped. This message may be displayed when you are performing a RESTORE from a backup and then trying to cancel it.
If you are doing a restore, then you can reboot and restore again. -
Why won't my iPhone sync with iTunes? I have just switched from Vista to Windows 7.
I 'upgraded' from Vista to Windows 7 and now iTunes won't recognize my phone or iPad. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes; I have gone into device manager to check that the drivers for the phone are up-to-date and, apparently, they are. Still nothing. HELP! please....
Make sure you use the same Apple ID as on the old computer and iCloud.

I really need this fixed its driving me crazy. I wish iTunes had a way of taking all the songs from the iPod and just downloading them to the itunes without having to delete all that is on there. I really want my Purchesed Items back. I wasted probably over 100$ on this....

Is there a reason why you did not create a backup of your media and other important files before switching from Vista?
It is the users responsibility to back up their media, it is NOT Apple's responsibility.
When you purchase CD's or DVD's, if you lose them, you repurchase them. Same deal with digital media.
If you have a backup of your media, simply copy the files from the backup to your computer.
If you still have access to your old computer, simply copy the files from it to your new computer. -
C Apple, i need to know few things,first of all i shall tell my scenario. I got an iphone 3gs from my uncle in US..after long waiting. I m from south india, living at God's country called Kerala k. well , in that iphone it showing activation screen and trying to activate. not more than that..plz help!

In order to allow it to be used on a different carrier, the phone was hacked or jailbroken. An unauthorized modification was made to the phone. That modification has damaged the phone. You can not get support for it here or from Apple. -

You could try taking to an iPhone Authorised service provider
in India but there have been many similar posts to yours

Upgrade to Win 7 (64bit) from Vista 32 - Not enough H Disk space after running Windows easy transfer
Hello all!
I upgraded from Vista 32 to Windows 7(64bit) using the custom install as per instruction found on Lenovo and the upgrade has gone well. My machine is running much better and faster now. However, I tried to transfer my files with easy transfer and I have run out of room on the HD. After the install, my C drive had about 35 Gigs with no other programs installed except for Win 7. This seems to be too much memory used for win 7 OS. I am thinking that other data like past restore data may be taking up a lot of room? Also my Easy transfer file is 79 gigs which also appears to large of a file. I have not been able to use Easy Transfer because of lack of drive space. Can I reformat my HD and run a new win 7 install from the Win 7 upgrade software CD?

ok i bought an iphone 4 from a friend he told me the story about it saying he had a glass of sweet tea with a little bit left, and he had dropped the phone in there upside down and it completely screwed up the phone and it was freaking out. after a while he said it all went away as if nothing happened but now the home button doesn't work so is there a way to fix the home button without taking it apart or sending it somewhere to get fixed?
