Taking my podcast off itunes!

help! i have a podcast i made (beacuse i was bored) and i hate it and want to take it off itunes! how to i take my podcast that is already on itunes off itunes!!!
HELP!!!!

No, I don't know how, that's why I thought the podcast forum might give you an answer.
And to show you how little I know about it, I think it is a file stored someplace and you can control it. So if you rename it to something wrong, does it go away?

  • How to delete un-listened to podcasts from itunes and iPod touch

    Hi all,
I'm sure this is an easy one.
I have a bunch of old podcasts (The New York Times front page) that I never listened to. I can delete them off the iPod Touch 4G by swiping and then hitting "delete," but of course they come back when I sync to iTunes.
How can I get these old podcasts off iTunes forever? I have checked "automatically include all unplayed episodes of all podcasts." Surely the answer is in there somewhere, but I don't want to delete the unplayed episodes of OTHER podcasts.
If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

How can I get these old podcasts off iTunes forever? I
Select them in iTunes then press Delete.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I  help taking my credit card off itunes account from iphone

On your phone you should be able to change your payment info by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and selecting 'View Apple ID' on the popup and logging into your account - on your account's screen there should be a payments link which you can tap on
If you don't get the 'none' option then do you owe iTunes anything : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366 ?

  • HT203128 How do i delete songs/podcasts off my ipod in itunes 12.1

Since the upgrade, I cannot see how I can delete songs or podcasts off my ipod.  I will run out of memory very quickly.  If I put in delete songs into Help it says select and press backspace.  This does not work.

Thank you very much for your help.  Actually, I just found another solution.  I checked the box at the bottom of the Summary page which says Manually manage music and videos.  I then clicked Apply and after that, I was able to delete content.
Why are neither of these solutions available when you query Help?
Perhaps one of the highly paid help in Apple could tell me (and all the others who have commented) what benefits we are getting from the upgrade to 12.1.  It just seems to have made it less user friendly and more difficult to use.

  • Taking old broken ipods off itunes account

we have 2 new ipods that we would like to sync to our itunes account but we dont have room....is there anyway to take off old broken ipods we dont use anymore off the account and put the new ones on? if so please help all help is appreciated and thanked!!!

Just plug in the new iPods to use them.
You don't take iPods off iTunes accounts since they are not linked to iTunes accounts.
Just don't use the old iPods.

  • Podcasts in iTunes 11.1

Anyone else having these issues with podcasts in iTunes 11.1?
After downloading it, I had to re-subscribe to all my podcasts. All old episodes of podcasts are showing up as being able to be downloaded from the cloud. The problem is, I've already listened to them, but it won't let me delete the old ones. So now instead of 2 pages of podcasts when all of them are expanded, I now have 84 pages.
Another problem is you now have to have the same settings for all podcasts. Previously, I had some podcasts that didn't automatically download because there were some episodes that didn't have any topics I was interested in, so I would delete them without downloading them.
As for the app, I always had the subscriptions turned off because I downloaded them to my computer, and I didn't want it to bring the battery down on my iPod touch. If I was away from home, I would turn on the subscription to download the podcasts, then turn them off. Last night, I went in and changed the subscription to off for all of them. Today when I went back into iTunes on my computer, I had to re-subscribe to everything again.
Then once after I downloaded the podcasts that were there, when I refreshed to see if any new episodes were available (I listen to podcasts that are broken down by the hour), and it removed some of the ones I had just downloaded minutes earlier and I had to download them again.

How, why, by what means, and by what authorization does Apple/iTunes decide what I want stored in their cloud [servers]??
What do you mean? Podcasts are stored on the originator's server from which you download them. Songs and films you purchase are (obviously) stored on Apple's server from which you download them. In both cases they are still on the server and you are able to re-download them to your other devices if you wish. iTunes Match allows you to upload material you didn't purchase, but it's your choice.
The complaint in this thread is that older podcasts still show in the list and can't be removed from it - it's only a list: if you haven't downloaded them onto your Mac they aren't taking up more than a few bytes of space, it's just that with a long list it's inconvenient to view.

  • Problem with podcasts and iTunes 6.0.1.3

    Hi everybody!
First of all, please excuse my poor English: I'm French. I'll try to do my best to write as well as I can.
I have some difficulties with podcasts and iTunes 6.0.1.3.
When I "sign up" (FR: "s'abonner") to some podcasts, they are not updated in my iPod nano indeed (and some others are), although iTunes says: "Your iPod is updated" (FR: "Votre iPod est à jour").
I have no way to put these podcasts episodes in my iPod...
    Could you help me please?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi iFriend,
try this, it worked for me:
    1) first of all, uninstall QuickTime and older versions of iTunes from your PC, using the "remove" button in the "install applications" tool that you find in the windows control panel.
    2) reboot the system
    3) turn off the windows firewall application; go into the windows control panel, double click on windows firewall and disable the firewall option
    4) if you have one, disable your Anti-Virus application; i mean its real-time protection.
    5) probably it's not necessary, but for being sure... download and launch the standalone installer of QuickTime (latest version)
    6) download and launch the iTunes + QuickTime installer from this web address
    7) as an option, i suggest you to download and install also iTunes Art Importer. It's a nice application, that allows you to import from the internet directly into iTunes the album ArtWorks of the selected tracks in iTunes. I installed it, and it works very well with iTunes 6.
    8) after all the installations, remember to enable both firewall and anti-virus previously disabled!
as i said, probably the 5th passage is not necessary, but i did it and it worked!
if you have any questions or feedbacks, just relpy to this topic. stay iTuned!
    bye, bye,
    Marco

  • How do i update my podcast on iTunes?

    Hello,
I submitted a podcast to iTunes and I need to update my image file, but cannot find where to do so. Anyone know where update podcast can be found?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

There is no 'update podcast' button.
I had a similar wish... first I posted a 'Concern' relating to a subject like 'downloads'. But I also reviewed my whole feed file etc and re-checked the format - jpeg, min 300x300 pixels. Then I uploaded the image into my feed file directory and re-checked my image url. I did this in part to make sure the directory had the right 'read' properties etc - since my podcast was OK I could assume it did so decided my image was better off in the same directory.
Then, I even posted a similar remark to yours on this BB in case anyone from Apple was looking. Then I sat back and waited... after about 48 hours the image was replaced.
My conclusion: Until we really know what procedures there are and whether some things are manual or automatic we have to try every avenue. However, checking that all the parameters are correct is the priority. e.g. use a feed validator etc. I don't know whether re-checking the validation of my feed (There were a couple of probs) etc was the main or only reason why my image was updated or whether it was some kind soul at Apple.
    Good luck!

  • How do I hide old podcasts in iTunes 11.1 and What's Up with the New Podcast Pane?

FIrst of all, I'm having fits with this "new" way of managing podcasts.
For years, I have managed the podcasts on my iPod (and now my iPhone 5) by manually syncing the device with my subscribed podcasts in iTunes. I have iTunes set to download the most recent episode of each of my podcasts and to keep all episodes until I delete them. Some podcasts I listen to or view only my MacBook Pro and I don't sync these to my iPhone. This has worked fine for years.
I moved to Apple's dedicated Podcasting app when I purchased my iPhone 5 earlier this year, but I maintained the manual syncing as I had done, using the app only to play the podcasts, not to subscribe to or download them.
I upgraded my iPhone 5 and iPad 3 to iOS 7 on launch day and downloaded iTunes 11.1 to my MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.8.5. The iOS upgrades went flawlessly for both of my devices, but iTunes has been a problem. It was sluggish when I first opened it, with lots of spinning beach balls. When I opened it for the first time, I went to the Podcast section and to my list of podcasts. They all now had "Subscribe" buttons by each of them (I was already subscribed to the podcasts in iTunes before the update). I assumed that I had to click the buttons to activate subscriptions in iTunes, but low and behold I discovered that it subscribed my iPhone 5's podcast app to ALL of the podcasts in my list (even ones that I don't put on the iPhone). It also started DOWNLOADING all of the episodes of these podcasts to my iPhone which, had I let it continue, would have eaten all of my bandwidth on Verizon for the month (and then some), plus the iPhone would have been filled up long before it could finish downloading the episodes.
I managed to get the iPhone's Podcast app to stop downloading these episodes, then I manually deleted all of the podcasts that didn't belong on the iPhone. I then had to go through all of the podcasts in the app and click a yellow box that said they hadn't been updated and wouldn't resum updating until I clicked the box.
Then I went back to iTunes 11.1, where I discovered that ALL the podcast episodes for my subscriptions that are still available for download in their feeds were now listed (2,000+ episodes), with previously listened-to episodes now showing with a cloud download icon next to them. Even more frustrating, I can't delete these from iTunes even though I've already listened to them and, even more frustratingly, the "Subscribe" button remains by each podcast in the list.
All I want to do is remove these previously-listened to podcasts from my lists, remove the subscribe buttons (since I'm already subscribed in iTunes), and continue to manually sync my iPhone's podcasts with iTunes as before. What do I have to do to make this happen? And if these are new "features" of the new iTunes, please share with your team that, while there are many who update wirelessly over their cell carrier's bandwidth, others of us don't have the capability (or desire) to do things this way and we want to switch this off and return to the "old" way of doing things.
Any ideas on how to fix iTunes 11.1 to return to the old way of doing things would be greatly appreciated!

What really cheeses me off here is that Apple isn't allowing users enough customization.  With each update of iTunes (and the OS and iOS) we're forced to give up something that worked well for the way we want to use the app and make do with fewer (and lamer) options.  If Apple keeps this up, they're going to start losing customers fast.  I mean if this isn't fixed soon, I'm pretty sure I'm going to give up on iTunes, and then I'll probably go ahead and get a Galaxy when I need to replace my iPhone.
What I don't understand about how they won't let users delete the list of available podcasts now is why?  How is this making it a better program?  I can understand that not all users are capable enough to right-click on a feed and select "Show all available episodes", so I can see why they want the complete list to be the default (and, surprise, it already was).  But to not give users the option to delete that list?  It's inconsiderate because it makes navigating feeds with a large back catalogue really frustrating.  I'm flabbergasted that no one at Apple considered all the podcast feeds that keep hundreds of episodes available when they removed this feature.  It smacks of rank incompetence.
What improvement were they trying to make here anyway?  There was nothing wrong to my mind about how podcasts were managed in previous versions.  Whatever improvement they were trying to make here, they should have realized that many users would at least want the option to keep things the way they were.
And reverting to a previous version is no solution.  I can't sync my iPhone with the new iOS without this update, and (while I do have some issues--specifically how you can't play podcasts in the Music app anymore) I do like the new iOS.

  • How do you remove ALL of my Podcasts from iTunes !!

    Hi,
having read several topics I am glad, but also sad, to know that I am not the only one having problems with submitting Podcasts onto iTunes. I have one which is still showing the 'Old' art cover, asked iTunes to remove and got nowhere, it is still there. Submitted it again this time with a New Art Cover and guess what it appeared 3 times all without the Art Cover ( it came up with the Purple Podcast art cover ), asked to get that removed and guess what --- it's still there, all linked to DEAD web links.
So here's my question, I have several Podcasts ( all for my University, until there Xserve is up and running ) on my DotMac account, HOW do I get everything removed from iTunes so that I can start all over again. I mean wipe the whole lot off iTunes - remove - kill, what ever !!!
I have even tried to follow the instructions on the iTunes 'Podcast Making' site on how to 'Remove' - guess what, you can't why I hear you ask because the instructions don't match up with what you see in iTunes/podcasts. See below the instructions from iTunes on how to remove:
    Removing or Blocking Your Feed.
If you are no longer creating a podcast and you want it removed from iTunes, you should:
    Log into iTunes.
    Find and select your podcast.
    Click on Report a Concern.
Select *"_is mine and I want it removed from the Music Store_"* from the Choose a Reason menu.
Explain why you want the podcast removed.
Note the part "is mine and I want it removed from the Music store" This option does not appear in the "Choose a reason menu" . Have not iTunes/Apple noticed this little error.
So back to my question - How do I remove 'everything' ??
I use iWeb, submit to my DotMac account and then submit to iTunes/Podcasts.
    Any help would be grateful.

  • I've taken Podcast off by my own choice but now I can't get it back on.

A while ago I submitted my podcast as : http://www.gcast.com/u/Zeketheo/tunnelvisionpodcast.xml
and everything worked fine. However, I wanted to change it to: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TunnelVision
I thought that using the url change code (<itunes:new-feed-url>) would not work, since feedburner gives the same feed that you have on it (http://www.gcast.com/u/Zeketheo/tunnelvisionpodcast.xml) and I thought it would become a infinite loop, so I decided to take my podcast off and start anew.
I chose "Report A Concern" and asked for my podcast to be taken off the store. It was taken off in a day, and I then tried to resubmit with the feedburner url
However, it showed up as "this feed has already been submitted."
I figured that the feedburner url shows up as the current .xml it is burning (http://www.gcast.com/u/Zeketheo/tunnelvisionpodcast.xml) but now I need to figure out how to get my podcast back on the store, this time with:http://feeds.feedburner.com/TunnelVision as the feed.
    Dell   Windows XP

I did read somewhere in Apple's documentation that it blocks you from adding a new Feed... if....
    (1) The Feed URL is already listed...
    or
    (2) The TITLE and DESCRIPTION are an exact match to one that's already listed...
So if you are submitting a NEW Feed (the feedburner feed), and it is blocking you... Then it must be because you have not changed the NAME and DESCRIPTION...
I bet if you now change even one letter of the name AND description, it will allow you to re-submit it to iTunes just fine...

  • I have downloaded the new iTunes 10.7 on my computer with windows vista on it. Now every time I try to run a video it shuts off iTunes. Is anyone else having this problem?

I have downloaded the new iTunes 10.7 on my computer with windows vista on it. Now every time I try to run a video it shuts off iTunes. Is anyone else having this problem? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program twice. Is there a fix? Is it possible I am missing part of the program?

Is there a (relatively simple) way to skip tracks with an iPod touch 5th gen using a physical button? I'm aware songs can be skipped on-screen without unlocking the iPod, but I'm looking for a method that doesn't require taking my eyes off the road while driving. For that reason, I'm also not interested in adding in headphones or additional devices that have the desired button functions. Going both forward and back would be great but I would be pleased just to have a "sight-free" way to go forward.
I've seen some mention here and there about ways to maybe change it so the volume buttons change tracks and holding the volume buttons changes the volume... but I don't know what's involved in that or if its even possible/recommended for a new 5th gen iPod. I think its a great device but its sadly lacking in music oriented functions and features... which is disappointing since music is why most people would bother getting one instead of some other "iDevice" :/

Given that you cannot do what you have asked for, perhaps you simply need to find another solution to your root problem.
Presumably, you want to skip to the next track because you don't want to hear the current one, and that is because...
    You don't like it.
You've heard it recently and don't want to hear it now.
Simply don't want to hear it at this time.
For problem number 1. Don't put it on the iPod in the first place. (I know, obvious answer!)
For problem number 2. How about playing from a Smart Playlist (initially created in your iTunes Library) which has only songs you've not played recently?
For problem number 3. Hhhmmm! Create alternative Playlists for use in the car.
As for going back to the start of the "now playing" track.... Well, if your Playlist has only songs that you really, really want to hear, then you'll be looking forward to that rather go back to the beginning of the current song.
I'm not trying to be prescriptive, just giving you food for thought.
(They are all cheaper options than buying a car which can control the iPod from the steering wheel.)

  • I removed my podcast from iTunes, and now I can't get it back on iTunes. How do I get Itunes to add to the Itunes Store?

When I resubmit my RSS feed, it says it has already been submitted. So I can't get my lisyn podcast back on iTunes. How do I get iTunes to add my iTunes stores? Help Roger Wilmut!

Are you saying that iTunes removed my libsyn podcast off the store and not me. And is still available to play, and update episodes. But removed it off the store because podomatic exist?
I've know way of knowing what went on before; but the situation at present is that only the one version is in the Store and it's using the Podomatic feed.
If you try to submit the Libsyn feed that was removed, one way or another, then you will be told it's already been submitted unless you can make sufficient changes to it to make it look like a different podcast. The title is slightly different from the Podomatic feed, and if it's still being rejected then you will have to try to replace the Podomatic feed with the Libsyn feed. This probably means emailing Support as I doubt you can add the redirection tag to the Podomatic feed (though you could try first.)
They might respond to an email request (they've been known to do so in the past) or they might not. I don't know whether Robert would be able to put in a request - he would swing more weight with them - but very likely they will only do it (if at all) for the actual owner, for security reasons.
