Taking notes in keynote

I'm a student, and I was hoping to use my iPad to take notes during lecture. Our professors typically provide their powerpoints ahead of time for us to take notes on. Is it possible to easily take notes on the presentation? Is there a function where I can Highlight or use my finger as a stylus to quickly jot down some notes? Or do need to download a different app?

I use Keynote to take notes in meetings all the time. Just create a slide for each topic point, then create text blocks or bullets as needed. If you need to instead make notes on an already created presentation, it's as easy as creating a text box. Highlighting can be handled, too, but a bit slower than a more dedicated app.

  • Taking Notes within Keynote presentation

Has anyone found a way to take notes within a Keynote Presentation (like in Powerpoint)? I know there is the comment option, but i wonder about a plug-in or something allowing taking notes within the slides.

  • How do I "move" (not copy) keynotes from my MacBook Pro to my iMac via sharing?

How do I "move" (not copy) keynotes from my MacBook Pro to my iMac via sharing?

Whenever you transfer something from one drive or volume to another, it is copied and the original remains where it was no matter the method you use. It is so by design: just in case you were to delete it on the one drive, you still have it on the other. However, if you no longer want the original, simply delete it and empty the trash.

how do i find the tablet for taking notes in school on macbookpro

Tablet?  Do you mean like a notepad or notebook?
TextEdit is included as a part of Mac OS X.  There are plenty of other word processor programs available- Microsoft Word, Apple's Pages, OpenOffice, to name a few

  • Printing notes in Keynote

Has anyone had the experience of printing notes in Keynote, only to find that the notes don't all fit on one page and are subsequently cut off? Is there anyway to adjust this so that when printing slides you can see all of your notes? Thanks in advance for the help.

the only solution i have found is to change font size to times 12 and be aware of how i lay things out, eg unnecessary returns etc, that take up real estate
it is a shortfall of the program. i sent them a feedback suggestion.....but no one listens to me

  • Im looking for a good note app with pen for taking notes ( in english and german )during business trips. Can anyone help

I'm looking for a good note app with pen function for taking notes ( in English and German ) during business trips. Can anyone help?

Really sorry to hear about this, particularly when you're putting your life on the line. But Apple cannot track your iPhone in any way unless you had set up Find My iPhone prior to it being lifted.
It's possible that AT&T might be able to do something, but it's probably that they cannot track it, or will not without a request from an authorized law enforcement agency, but rather would only disable the device. You'll have to try and find a way to contact AT&T directly and ask if they can do anything to help you; the chances of any AT&T employee in a position to help you spotting this thread it pretty small.
Good luck, stay safe, and come home soon.
    Regards.

  • Anyone have any idea which is the best application for taking notes and essay writting?

im starting my first year of university and i was wondering what would the best application for taking notes on be? and also whats the easiest, most reliable and effective way to transfer documents off the ipad? Any thoughts on printing aswell?
will be appreciating all the help i can get!

You're going to get as many answers to that question as there are people to answer it. You don't state if you want to take handwritten notes or if you will be typing. For handwritten notes, I really like Noteshelf. It has lots of export options, my favorite being to Evernote (which you might want to look into as well for storage). For typing notes, I'd go with Pages, Documents to Go or QuickOffice. For working with PDFs, I like PDF Expert.
I've recently heard good things about Note Anytime. It is free for a limited time, so it'st probably worth downloading to try out.

I Recommend the iPad Mini Retina, it's not to big, and not to small. It has the speed of the iPad Air due to it having the same 64 Bit chips. ( And it's a lot cheaper!!) I have one myself and it's perfect for my school work!

  • Taking Notes In Ibook's PDF files (Ipad)

Although it is possible to take notes in the Books presented in Ibooks, which is for my purpose a very nice feature this function does not function does not be present in the pdf files. And since 98% of the stuff I use are pdf files (music books) I did not succeed in taking notes within the files. Converting the pdf files into an epub format made a complete mess of the indexing and the size of the sheets so it was no longer possible to select to use the books in a proper way. So I'm stuck. Will there be an update from Ibooks to take notes also in pdf files from Ibooks?

    Thanks pogopossum,
I'm using now Goodreader. This has also the advantage of a good interlinking to other available documents.
This is also not functioning with ibooks. Goodreader has some drawbacks compared to ibooks.
You cannot recognize the books easily since no frontpages are present and you need to scroll more to find the correct document. A annoying thing is that once you enlarge the index and jump to a linked page that page will show up in the enlarged fashion. So you always need to resize the new page. This problem is not present in ibooks. An enormous good feature of Goodreader is the easy and many ways to import files.

  • Why can i not download keynote

I have downloaded the new software but i still do not have keynote in my purchases. How can i get keynote without paying?

Go to the app store on your computer and sign in. If you are already signed in, sign out and then back in. Manually search keynote. It should say "download" or "purchased". If it does not, then most likely your original transaction did not go through. You would just have to re-buy it or email apple and explain your situation. Usually emailing apple will get you the program for free if you fully explain the situation.

  • Best Pen for taking notes on the twist

Hi, I'm curious at what pen can be best used for taking notes on my Twist.  When I use OneNote it won't let me use my finger or the rubber tipped stylus to write with, but instead requires the use of the keyboard, very annoying when in class.  I've been struggling with this for several months now.  I'm unsure what the difference is between a capacitive pen vs a digitizer pen?

Thanks, that's what I've heard from other sites, but I figured other Twist owners may have different opinions.  Have you used any other apps that use the Jot pro?  I'm curious as what apps are available for use with it before I purchase it, which will hopefully be tonight

  • Taking Notes

Thinking about getting one. One of the things I'd like to do with it is taking notes in meetings, etc... I played with one for ~10min in the Apple store yesterday, and I think the on-screen keyboard isn't that great for keeping up with the pace of a meeting (though, maybe I would just need to get used to it...).
Also, I'm thinking it may be easier to use a stylus for scribbling notes. Is this an option with either the basic Notes app or any other? Do any apps have handwriting conversion?

The post under yours when you posted should answer your questions http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2386821&tstart=0

  • How to open powerpoint as ppt and not as keynote?

    Hi guys and girls,
I want to open a powerpointpresentation as ppt and not as keynote. There is a way to do that, but I forgot. Help!!!!

There are several ways to to that as long as you have Power Point installed.
    1. Select the file and then Get info. Command-I
Look down the list of items to find "Open with:" Select Power Point. Close the window. The next time you double click that file it should open in Power Point.
    2. Select and drag the file onto the Power Point application Icon.
    3. Run Power Point and use the File > Open menu of Power Point to find and on the file.
