any one know a good application which can take photos from video?dont be smart and say take screenshot it's not as accuracy as i want as it can get extra parts

So you want to take a photo when playing a video? Or when recording? Because the second one is possible from the camera app.
For the first one,you should check some camera apps from google play.

Creating and saving a photo from video clip in iMovie '11

Hello,
My dad took what he thought were photos from his iPhone. Turned out to be a bunch of one second video clips as he accidentally had it on the video camera mode. Trying to create a still photo image from these clips. What's the best way to do this? Is iMovie able to do this? If so, some guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I did try searching with no luck.

You can import the clips from your iPhone into iMovie 11.
There are two approaches. Let's call them the shotgun approach and the rifle approach.
Shotgun approach:
Drag the 1 second video clips into an iMovie Project. Then SHARE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME.
Choose Still image sequence. This will give you 30 jpegs per second for all the clips. In other words, it will give you every single frame, converted to a still.
Rifle Approach:
Download a free app to your Mac called MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5.
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iPhoto, right click on one of the Video clips, and select "Show in Finder".
Drag these clips from the Finder into MPEG Streamclip. You should be able to hit the Play button and see them all.
Move the playhead in MPEG Streamclip to the exact frame that you want. Then click FILE/Export Frame. You can choose whether you want JPEG, TIFF, or PNG. And choose a location. Move the playhead to the next frame you want and repeat.

Trying to distinguish photo from video clip ?

I have just started using A3. I have noticed that it is difficult to distinguish between photos and video clips in A3. Only from the metadata badges you can see a very small icon in the bottom right hand corner.
Is there a better way to easily see a which is a video clip ?
The only way I can see is to sort by file size.
Any inputs ?

There should be a default "Videos" Smart Album in your Projects and Albums shown on the Library tab of the Inspector. That will show you all or your videos.
As you've noticed, video are flagged with a small badge which you can show in either the Viewer or the Browser. (The shortcut for showing metadata overlays is "u" in the Browser and "y" in the Viewer.) You could apply a colored label to all your movies if you would like them to stand out more in the Browser. In the "Videos" Smart Album, select all, then "Metadata>>Label>>ChooseColor".
There are, of course, any other number of ways to do similar things. Filter on +"File Type = Video"+. Put all your videos in Projects in a separate Folder. Make Albums of videos. Apply the keyword "Video" to all videos. Append something like +" video"+ to the filenames of all videos, and then just use the text search.

Creating a photo from video in imovie

Is this possible? At my sons 1st bday someone took video of the cake but no one took pictures, doh! Can I create a photo from the video in imovie? If so, how do I go about doing this? Thanks...

Here is an easy way.
1) Start a new iMovie project, with a name like "photos from birthday party".
2) Go to the EVENT for the birthday party. Move the cursor so it is at the frame you want to make into a photo.
3) Right-click, (or control-click) and select "Add still frame to project"
4) Repeat step 3 as many times as you want to add additional photos.
5) Now, in the project you have creates, right-click (or control-click) on one of the photos. Select "Reveal in Finder"
6) A finder window will open showing the jpeg file you have created. Right-click and select COPY. (Note you can copy all the photos at once if you like)
7) Create a folder on your desktop called something like "Temp folder for photos from iMovie". In this folder, right-click on a blank space, and select PASTE.
8) Your temp folder should now have copies of all these photos. Select them all and drag them to iPhoto.

Deleting photos from video ipod

How do you delete photos from your video ipod, if u have accidentally deleted the created "iPod photos" folder (containing all the pictures) from your computer?
I've tried deleting the iPod photo cache from my comp already.

You could try creating a new folder on your PC desktop called something like "empty Ipod". Leave it empty. Then hook your Ipod up and when Itunes opens, go to the "Photos" tab and check the "synch photos from" box. That will enable you to select the "empty ipod" folder option on the drop down menu. Then click on "apply" in the bottom RH corner. That should do the trick. (You can in future synch with the photos you want by putting them in the "empty ipod" folder on your PC and remove them by changing its contents or emptying it. Worked for me anyway.)

Can I extract a photo from an m4a video clip?
I used my iPhone to shoot about one second of video instead of a still picture, as I'd intended; now I want to get a still from the clip.
Any ideas on the best way to do this with iPhoto or iMovie, or some other application? Thanks.

iphoto 08, imovie 08. I have imported video from camera into both programs but can't find any options to choose a clip and convert it to jpg or something to create a still photo from the video. Is this possible?

Told by adobe that I should purchase photoshop elements 13 to extract photo from video but it will not even open a video file -- what am I missing?

I am supposed to be able to extract a frame from PSE 13 but it will not let me do so. Specifically, Select File > Import > Frame From Video is supposed to allow this but when I click Import, there is no Frame from video option.
Here are the instructions from the Adobe website:

Question about taking Images from video in FCP

I just recently upgraded from pinnacle to FCP 7 and am loving it. My question is when I try to take a still Image from video using Quick Time Conversion, the image comes out blurry or with bars around the edges of people. At first I thought It was because I was trying to capture a moving Image, but then I tried it with someone standing still and I ran into the same problem.
I shoot with a Canon XH-A1

Take the exported file to Photoshop and use Image Size to correct the aspect ratio of the image. Apply the Deinterlace filter in Photoshop to remove the interlacing.

How do I do it? I have about 96 photos on my ipod. I just reformatted my computer and I now want to take all the photos from my iPod and put them onto my laptop. I've looked at the guides and it really didn't tell me much. Can someone please explain?

If you chose to copy full resolution versions, then you can easily get them.
Connect your iPod to the computer. Then open My Computer. Double click the drive representing the iPod. Open the photos folder. They should be there.
If not, you have to use a program like this...

IMO, iPhoto makes photo storage and management easy, which is integrated with all the iLife applications. You can use iPhoto for importing photos from your iPhone's camera roll and from just about any digital camera. It includes some photo editing tools - crop/straighten, an Adjust feature for adjusting exposure/contrast/saturation/definition/highlights/shadows/sharpness/de-noise/t emperature/tint, a general photo enhance feature, retouch, and red-eye removal. You can create iPhoto albums for select photos which is similar to creating an iTunes playlist for select music. There are a number of other features included with a significant benefit for me being all my photos are in one location with access and viewing of all my photos with a single app that is easy to use.

How to go back to photo from video on i phone

I accidently hit something when I was taking a photo that activated the video. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to go back. I've shut it off, tapped everything I could but there is no obvious solution. I'm not sure which model of iphone I have. Can someone please tell me how to do it?

Just above the shutter button, slide the words "Photo, Video, Square ..." to the left, so that "Photo" is above the button.
