Taking photos with my iPhone5c color shifts from photo to square

When taking photos with my iphone 5c ios7 I notice the color shifts from photo to square. The color changes are noticible. I have auto focus on, flash off, on both formats I click on the image to get exposure and focus and take the photo.

If the colors look different when you take pictures in "photo" and "square" mode, make sure that there are no filters being used:
Apply a filter: (iPhone 4s or later) Tap the filter icon to apply different color effects, such as black & white. To turn off a filter, tap , then tap None. You can also apply a filter later, when you edit the photo. See Edit photos and trim videos.
If you are seeing unexpected results when taking pictures with your iPhone 5c, these troubleshooting steps can help:
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

Close the pictures before you quit Preview. Cmd-opt-q will close all windows and quit. cmd-opt-w will close all windows and not quit.
Or, Disable automatically opening files that were left open in General System Preferences

Photo Books - Crop and Color Issues from Kodak Gallery

I've been spending a good amount of time creating photo books and ordering them from Kodak using the built-in online ordering feature.
I've noticed several items that I was curious if others have any experience perspective on.
1. Cropping. For a flexible full bleed photo book, the page as it is represented in PSE3 is substantially cropped when Kodak processes the book. The difference between the two is almost 1/2 on either side and 1/4 inch on on the top a bottom. (These are approximate numbers) Have others seen this? It would be nice to have a border in the software showing where the page will be cropped since the Kodak service and PSE3 are so tightly integrated.
2. The colors come seem to come off a bit dark as compared to prints I have ordered and the images are all very slightly pixelated as compared to prints. Nothing awful, but not what you would want for your best photos.
I am hoping to learn if others have seen these issues and learned to live with them or are the other photo book providers that could turn a pdf into a higher quality book?

I haven't used the Kodak Gallery for photo books. I have been tempted a time or two, but so far I have ordered my books through Mypublisher.com. The product is about the same. And I saw one of their books last Christmas and was impressed with it. In reading through the instructions from Mypublisher, they warn that there will be some cropping on full-bleed images and advise to be sure to allow for that. I have not run into the color or brightness difference that you mentioned. There are those who will disagree with me, but I read an article awhile back that indicated that most of the online photo processors as well as many of the one-hour minilabs standardize their equipment to the sRGB color space. So that is what I have used when preparing my books, and I have been very pleased with the results.
As far as your pages are concerned, you might try what I did in my last project. The pictures didn't fit any of the templates provided by the publisher, so I created my own pages in Photoshop. I positioned the pictures where I wanted them and added my own text. Then I just created my book using those pages. It turned out very nicely. I have distributed 75 copies of the album so far and everyone has really liked it.
Mypublisher.com provides software that you download and create your album on your computer. Then when you are ready to order there is a menu item that connects you to the Web site. The only problem is, this is a Windows service only. There is no support for the Mac.

Color shift from content window to preview window

I need some help!!! When I open a photo in bridge the color is vibrant and vivid. When I click on the photo so I can view it in the preview box the color shifts and becomes dull and flat. Why is that? How do I fix it? After I have viewed the photo in the preview box the color stays as it is after the shift. So, the color doesn't return to the nice vibrant, vivid color I want to retain from the SOOC. My photo now retains the dull, flat color it recieved while in the preview box.

Is your thumbnail quality set to Prefer Embedded (Faster)? The thumbnails created that way aren't color managed so that would explain why you're seeing differences between them and the preview

Color Shift from PS to Fireworks CS 3

How do I correctly manage the color between the CS3
application so that the color does not shift from Photoshop to
Fireworks in CS3. I have tried switching the color in convert to
profile in photoshop then save the file and re-open in FW and still
a huge change. I have switched the Bridge Profile for all
applications across CS3 and they are not consistent.

Color shift from one monitor to the next (CS5)

I'm having a strong color shift in Photoshop going from one monitor to another. It's not a calibration issue because the color shift persists when I drag the window from one to another until I do something with the window, then it will shift (i.e. not exactly when I move the window). I'm essentially experiencing the problem described here, only I'm on Photoshop CS5 and his solution doesn't apply because that option is not available.
Windows 7 64bit
Photoshop CS 5 (12.1 x64)
Note the color change, one part of that image is on one monitor, and the other part on the other. (The left is the correct color fwiw.)
I'm guessing there's just some setting somewhere I can toggle?

Thanks for the input Mike, however it doesn't help me. I'm actively working with both monitors and I need the colors to be accurate on both in order to do my job. I'm hoping there's a setting much like there was in CS4 (see my link in original post) so that I can get both monitors to behave the same.
I should also mention that this problem is unique to Photoshop, I do not have this color shifting problem in any other program (including, for example, Acrobat Reader).

Color Shift from Quicktime Movie

Ok, Here is my problem. When I do a copy and paste into director from a Quicktime movie for the first and last frame of my movie the is a noticible color shift when the movie starts to play on my command and when the movie transitions from the last frame of the QT to the still i have placed at the end of the movie.
Any ideas?

Open your Director file. Locate a QuickTime member in your cast library. Open the Property Inspector and navigate it to the QuickTime tab where you should uncheck DTS. Drag this member onto the stage to create a sprite in channel 1 in an otherwise empty section of your score. Open your Message Window and execute the following lines of code, one at a time, by pressing the RETURN key at the end of each line:

Color shift from Photoshop to InDesign?

I'm using Adobe's Creative Cloud family of apps, which have been color synchronized with Adobe Bridge using the North American General Purpose 2 color setting. All of the files I'm working with are set to CMYK. My Photoshop files are set to 8 bits/channel.
I just placed several .psd files in an InDesign document and there is a rather large color shift, with the placed image in InDesign being much darker than the Photoshop image. In addition, and even with InDesign's Display Performance set to "High Quality Display", the placed image is not as crisp as the Photoshop image.
So, my questions are:
Why is there a large color shift between both apps?
Why is the placed image not as clean as the Photoshop image?
What can I do to fix both issues?

First and foremost, do you have a high-quality monitor, and is it properly calibrated and profiled (using an instrument)? Without that, judging color on-screen is like picking the best picture at the TV dealer.
When you place an image in ID you are looking at a screen preview, not the pixels you see in Photoshop. View > Display Quality > High Quality Display will get you the best quality preview, but it's still just a preview. Turning on Overprint Preview will give you the most accurate color rendition for CMYK.

Exclude photos with certain catagory or tag from search in PSE 7?

It's very easy to to do a search where I want to exclude photos with a certain tag or category from the found set, in my PSE 3. I read that it's difficult in PSE 6.
Is it easier in PSE 7?

In PSE 6 and 7, its easy to exclude leaf keyword tags from a search, but Adobe broke the ability exclude keyword categories/subcategories. There are two partial workarounds, one of which is only available in PSE 7:

Taking control with Remote Desktop Services Manager from workstation console

When I run Remote Desktop from the console of my computer Windows 7 I get a message saying that if I run this tool from the console some options are disabled as Remote Control and Connect.
Is there any way to enable these possibilities from the console?

No, there is no way to enable them for use from the console. These features
require that you be within a Remote Desktop session in order to use them. For RDP 8.0/8.1 sessions the situation is different in that you can now perform a shadow (Remote Control) by launching mstsc.exe with
command line switches even from the console.

How do i get photos to download to my computer from photo stream

how do i get photos I took on my Iphone 4s to download to my computer from photo stream? I turned on photostream but they will not download to the computer. I have a wi-fi connection.

You have to update to OS X 10.7.4 or later to sync with iCloud, and thus photo stream (see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/mac.html). Also, to sync with photo stream on a Mac you must have iPhoto 11 (version 9.2 or later) or Aperture version 3.2 or later in order to sync with photo stream.
Finally, only photos taken on you phone after enabling photo stream are uploaded. Also, the are only uploaded to photo stream when you phone is connected to wifi, the camera app is closed, and you have at least 20% battery power remaining. If all those conditions are met you photos should automatically sync to computer.

Black and White photo with splash of color

I just bought photoshop elements yesterday. I'm completely new to this and I want to know how to make a photo turn b/w, but keep a point of color,ex: a red hair bow but everything else b/w.

Another way is to create a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer over your photo. (It's one of the choices that is found on your layer's pallet under the black and white icon.) This will create an adjustment that can be masked.
Double click the adjustment layer with "Master" selected and move the saturation slider to -100. Once this is done you can use the paint brush to paint back color. (Black hides the adjustment; white reveals the adjustment; shades of gray provide a partial adjustment.)
I think the mask option is preferable to using the eraser because you can easily go back and refine the image if you make a mistake. It also gives you the opportunity to change your mind without having to start from scratch. Another advantage is that your image will have a smaller file size.
You can also use filters that work in gray scale on the mask. One useful one is Gaussian Blur. I like to paint my selection edges with a hard edged brush then soften (feather) the edges with the Gaussian filter. The Maximum and Minimum filters are useful if you need to expand or contract the mask edge a little.
If you want to have more control over the black and white adjustment, use the pull down menu in the Hue/Saturation adjustment dialog to select each color; reduce each of the colors to -100 Saturation; then go back and adjust the "lightness" slider of each color to taste.

Color shift from LR to CS2

Hi, I 'edit to PS' from LR, changed mode to 8 bit. Then 'save for web', all the vibrancy went out of the shot and the colors changed, even at high settings.
Did it again but used LR to save image as jpeg first then opened it in PS and saved for web and colors stayed the same as LR. Is this a bug?..tao jones

Color/hue from photos exported out of LR to PS then saved get adjusted

When I send my photos direct from Lightroom 5.6 to Photoshop 2014.1.0 and then save to .jpeg to HD, the hue gets adjusted in some cases (it's ok when I view photo full size in external viewer e.g. ViewNX2, but the thumbnails previews and images loaded to the web get adjusted). I'm sure it's a color space incompatibility issue, but not sure how to fix? Attached are screen grabs of the two settings. Any ideas? Thanks, Jim

You're sending ProPhoto RGB to Photoshop. ProPhoto is a very large editing color space, but usually not a good output color space. It's fine inside Photoshop, but usually breaks down in file browsers and web browsers. It requires a fully color managed application to display correctly.
Always convert to sRGB for anything destined for web or other non-color managed use. sRGB will display roughly correctly everywhere.

Why are my photos with Iphone 5 totally off from what I am shooting at.

I'm a photographer so not a bad shot, frequently my picture when aimed at a full body or group of people will only capture the very lower half (feet and large floor area). The next shot might be fine, Please help it's driving me nuts! Thanks!

When I plugged in the new backup (external drive) and clicked on iPhoto library, it opened iPhoto in the exact place I was working and that one photo was gone.
When you clicked on the library iPhoto on the EHD iPhoto is op;ending the last library that was previously opened. To change libraries launch iPhoto with the Option key held down to get this window:
Then select the library that is on the EHD if it's in the window. If it isn't, click on the Other Library button, navigate to the EHD and select the library there.
