Taking Print in WEb dynpro Application
hello,
I have a situation the front end is web dynpro JAVA and at the backend of it R/3 is bein gcalled for print. but it is getting stucked up saying that 'FRONTEND UNAVAILABLE. But i got a solution that is not automated. i need a other alternative for it.
Solution what i have is :
1. convert the data to be printed in PDF format.
2. open a pop-up in PDf browser.
3 There we can give the print options by pressing the print button.
But what i need is there any other way of making the whole process automated.
thanks & Regards.

Hi
Are you having any inputfields in your next view?If yes then check if you have bound the context attribute to it.
I think you haven't done that.

Reg Simple Web Dynpro Application
Hello Gurus,
I am developing a simple Web Dynpro Application that displays just Purchase Header Details.
It says the runtime Error, "The exception CX_WD_CONTEXT" was raised but was not caught at any stage in Call Hierarchy.
Any Suggestions would be rewarded.....
Regards
JayHi,
I have pasted the short dump....
===========================================================
Runtime Errors UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
Except. CX_WD_CONTEXT
Date and Time 27.02.2007 11:48:17
ShrtText
An exception that could not be caught occurred.
What happened?
The exception 'CX_WD_CONTEXT' was raised but was not caught at any stage in the
call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations, and since the system could
not react adequately to this error, the current program,
'CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_VAL=======CP', had to
be terminated.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assinged to the class 'CX_WD_CONTEXT', was not
caught,
which led to a runtime error.
The reason for this exception is:
Die Anzahl der Elemente der Kollektion des Knotens INDEX.1.EKKO_ITAB verletzt
die Kardinalität.
How to correct the error
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
use the following search criteria:
"UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" CX_WD_CONTEXTC
"CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_VAL=======CP" or "CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_VAL=======CM001"
"CHECK_COLLECTION"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
Save->Local File (unconverted)".
2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
"System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

Zebra printing in web dynpro/Adobe
Hello,
We have zebra label print designs in place (we dont want to design using adobe designer). Now we would like to enable subcontractors to print them online using web dynpro/Portal.
1. one way I identified is send the zebra spool as a file and save it in the local disks and print it using zebra printer.
Whats the better and efficient way to approach? How everybody is doing this?. Doesnt SAP have any solutions?.
Thanks ,
Raj.SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe comes with ABAP backend print support for Zebra label printers.
However, as with all backend printing the required output formats are placed in the spool. To my knowledge, there is no standard SAP way to make these spool-based formats available for print in a Web Dynpro application. In addition, note that in the ABAP backend SAP doesn't print from the PDF, which for these processes has only got a preview function. Depending on the scenario, printing is done from PS, PCL or ZPL through the corresponding SAP device types.

Markus Meisl

Poor performance of web dynpro application
Hi,
I have developed web dynpro application which fetches data from R3 system using JCO connection.Large amount of data is transferred between R3 and application, because of which it is taking too long for displaying result.
After displaying timestamp before and after RFC execution code I came to know that, it is taking approx. 5 min for RFC execution, resulting in poor performance.Time taken for rest of processing is negligible. Is there any way by which I can reduce time for RFC execution or data transfer?
Thanks in advance,
ApurvaHI Apurva,
I think u r displaying the whole data at a stretch in the front end. So it will take some time for rendring. So try to reduce the display elements (For example, for tables, display only 10 rows at a time).

2.By clicking first row in the table ,,
delete ,edit cancel buttons are present.
same elements are present which i mentioned in step 1.
To connect to the R3 database, Function module is required. Can any one help what are the specifications i need to give to the ABAP team to develop a Function module for this appluication.
Please tell me procedure.

Error - Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions
Dear All,
we are trying to implement a web dynpro application with accessing ABAP functions.
Previous tasks:
- insert the ABAP system into the SLD from the NWDI System (Transaction RZ70; the ABAP system is correctly insert into the SLD => technical systems)
- equipped the JCO connections with the web dynpro content manager (ping and test = OK)
Its the standard tutorial out of the SDN called Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions.
Some hints:
- There are no errors after the implementation and the rebuild of the project in the NWDS
- The auto deployment works fine to the development runtime system. The application is shown in the Web Dynpro content manager
- The In the build log I found these entries:

Passing a parameter while calling a web dynpro application on portal
hi
I am having a web dynpro application which retrieves data from R/3 system via RFC using Jco destinations define in the Portal.
Now we have different kinds of portals running on the same WAS, now I want the application to run which access data from different R/3 systems thru different JCo destinations.
I need to create a logic such that mu application runs fine on any portal with any Jco destination.
Is there any provision to achieve this.
kindly let me know about this.
Thanks and regards
krisGopi,
there's an parameter called "sap-wd-arfc-useSys" you can pass to the application, to change the used JCo-Connection (read more at http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/f4/651741f163f023e10000000a155106/frameset.htm)
so, if you're running the WD-aaplication on <b>one</b> WAS and call it from different portals, you have to create three (or six with the META-connections) JCo-Connection on your WD-WAS.
In a WD-application you can access URL-Parameters with:
WDWebContextAdapter.getWebContextAdapter().getRequestParameter("<your URL Parameter-Name>");

You must have logged in thru a dedicated connection to any server through say VPN before deploying. This way the sdm uses the same login as that of already establised connection.
So 'sign of' all connections to any servers before deploying and redeploy your application. Here you will be prompted to supply the sdm password and deployment shall proceed. -
I am getting a error while executing the Web Dynpro Application Page.
Hi All,
I am getting a Error while executing a web dynpro application :::
: Navigation in Phase WDDOMODIFYVIEW Cannot Be Triggered. Component: Z_WEP_PERSONAL_DATA, View: OVERVIEW, Window: Z_XXP_PERSONAL_DATA
I have checked this error description in ST22 :
What happened?
The exception 'CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere
along
the call hierarchy.
Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
'CL_WDR_CLIENT_APPLICATION=====CP' has to be
terminated.
Error analysis
An exception occurred which is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_WDR_RT_EXCEPTION', was not caught
and
therefore caused a runtime error.
The reason for the exception is:
Navigation in Phase WDDOMODIFYVIEW Cannot Be Triggered. Component:
Z_XXP_PERSONAL_DATA, View: OVERVIEW, Window: Z_XXP_PERSONAL_DATA
Can u plz help me regarding this error.
Thanks,

Looks to me like you are trying to fire a navigation plug within WDDOMODIFYVIEW. According to the rules of the WD Phase Model this is not allowed. -

once we double click on warning icon,
below details are coming:

URL: url of the ABAP web dynpro application
This scenario is occuring for many ABAP WD application for a client.
Please guide how to solve this issue?
Thanks!
PiyushHi
First try a very simple application with nothing in it just one text saying Hello World
Run it and see what happens.
Also check if your url uses FQDN name. something like https:
company.name.co:50000\.......
If you do not use the FQDN it will always show a script error on the bottom and some functions will not work e.g
dropdowns.

Error while implementing a web service in web dynpro application
HI All,
I am trying to use a webservice in a web dynpro application.
Web service description:- This is a very simple application which takes two String inputs and when submitted displays the string in the concatenated form.
Web dynpro:- I used this web service in the web dynpro as an adaptive web service model.
The Layout design consists of two input fields which are mapped to the request fields
ex : - Request_Add.Add.S1 and Request_Add.Add.S2
A text area to display the response:- Request_Add.Response.AddResponse.Response
And a button which invokes the execute method

Kindly reply.
Thanks
NehaHi,
Yes I have tested the web service in Navigator . The WSDL is also properly generated.
I have not publish the web service in UDDI but as per my understanding this is not necessary. please correct me if I am wrong.

NehaHi Neha,
It seems that there is problem with your SDM server. It seems that during J2EE engine configuration SDM server is not configured. Actually this configuration is done by Basis Team.
By the way try out your Server setting:
Go To:: Windows -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE Engine
[Mention the required details over there]
And Check whether you are getting Active SDM Server under J2EE Engine.

Hello,
I'm starting to develop web dynpro applications, and I can run them on the nwds, but I cannot deploy them to the SDM, i always get the following error:
/userOut/deploy (com.sap.ide.eclipse.sdm.threading.DeployThreadManager) [Thread[Deploy Thread,5,main]] ERROR:

Settings
SDM host : myserver
SDM port : 50118

Deployment exception : Server myserver did not accept login request as admin on port 50118. Details: ERROR: Could not establish connection to server myserver at port 50118: No route to host: connect
Inner exception was :
Server myserver did not accept login request as admin on port 50118. Details: ERROR: Could not establish connection to server myserver at port 50118: No route to host: connect
I have installed Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 2004S SR 1, i can access the enterprise portal with no problems.
I would be appreciate if anybody could help me with this issue.
Regards,
Leandro FonsecaAt the same time if more users are deploying then you may such 'deployment aborted' errors check if there are more child instances for the J2EE engine. If not ask your basis administrator to create more child nodes to balance the load on the server instance. Also You can find out the server details at
"http:
<hostname:portnum>\index.html"select system configuration-you can get the details of the SDM and the j2ee engine from there. You need to have proper credentials to get the information from the above url.
Provide those details in the NWDS.
