Talent Management & Succession Planning
Hi
As part of the EHP4 functional upgrade of HCM core processes for Talent Management such as Succession Planning or talent development is getting switched on.
Any input on the impact it will have on existing BI reports on succession planning which is based on ehp3 data model.
(The latest talent Management and talent development BI content is available only in the release of EHP5 package)

Hi Dinu,
It sounds like a data issue. SP is probably reading the HRP1001 values but somewhere the data may have been corrupted or an object incorrectly deleted/unassigned. I would just delete the relationship in PP01 if not actual successor is assigned.

Despite the error message the Development template still got saved. Is this an issue ?

Talent Management-RePublishing Plans
Hi Everybody,
I'm unable to re-publish the plans in Talent Management, as it says that there are broken supervisor hiearchies which need to be fixed first. I ran a report and found three employees with broken hierarchies, all three employees are terminated, so I've excluded them from the system by adding them to the Eligibility Override EIT. Normally when I do that, it fixes the problem and I'm able to re-publish the plans. However, this time it hasn't worked and the employees in question are still appearing as having broken hierarchies. Can you please investigate and see if it is in fact these three employees causing the problem and if so, why the system is ignoring the fact that I've excluded them in the EIT. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.I'm not technical, so can't comment on whether the SQL is correct. But, you can set objectives outside of the appraisal period, so your objectives might not yet be connected to a specific appraisal. Does your SQL allow for this?

Manager Succession Planning: Display all reports
Hello,
We have configured the Succession Planning Manager application (TVN 2.1, java, Product Version: 6.0 Build Version: 6.00.003.00).
The application displays the positions reporting to the connected managers. We would like to give managers access to these positions + all positions underneath: N-1, N-2...N-x. We need therefore to be able to browse the org units beneath the manager's org unit. This would be similar to what is available for TMS in Succeession Planning application (they see everything underneath the org unit they are TMS for)
In the data connection (general settings) for My reports, we have:
Data Table BAPI_ReportingPosition_DataSet
Data Filter Type='S'
If I understand well, this is used to select the objects displayed in the view. Is there something else we can use in order to achieve our requirement?

This menu was not active for English in IMG.
I see a config called "Specify Type of Reporting for Determining the Manager". Only one field, REPORTING_LINE, the value is "Indirect" which is the default value. the other option is direct but doesn't change a thing (seems to be specific to S-S-P)
Are you sure it is not an issue with the dataelement and the filter defined in the admin console?

Error in 'My Reports' section for Manager-Succession Planning
Hi,
We are implementing Nakisa 3.0 SP1.
We have maintained all prequisites for a Manager. For example:
1) Manager's user id is attached to Employee who is managing Org. Unit
though relationship B012.
2) Configured Root Org. Unit in Administration Console.
Still, we are getting error like "Cannot find the root of your
orgchart. The orgchart box may have been deleted or incorrectly
specified, or no valid org structure can be found for the selected
effective date. Please change the root of the chart or select another
effective date."
I have checked log (cds.lg) as well. It's not giving any relevant
error. although it is giving error which says "04 Jul 2011 10:30:33
ERROR com.nakisa.Logger - java.text.ParseException: Unparseable
date: "7/10/2007 2:15:10 PM"".

Is returned to perform instance deploy and reapply the transport package.
For testing the user has SAP_ALL.
In the configuration of thea dmin console I have tried to address the Organizational ID and error occurs: "Cannot find the root of your orgchart. I tried to do what he says Luke Marson and the error persists.
In the log Manager I get the following error:

The Portal is for the following applications:
Talent Profile for Employees
Talent Profile for Managers and Talent Management Specialists
Talent Review Meetings
Talent Groups
Corporate Goals and Values
Talent Assessment
None of these processes can be managed in the SAP R/3 system. Therefore it is not possible to have a holistic end-to-end succession management process, since you can only manage succession planning of positions.
For your search issue, have you installed and configured TREX? See this blog for information:

Development plan by Employee - Talent Management
Dear Luke,
Greetings.
From one of your blog understand very clearly that Development plans are only accessible by TMS and Manager. And not by Employee. But this could be well accepted when the it comes to larger organization.
In the event of small or mid size kind of organization one of the main requirement is that they want the Employee to view the development plan set for them. Because these Development plans are not only for the purpose of Succession planning rather to address the gap in Position vs Person related competency.
Would be extremely helpful if can share a solution pertaining to getting the Development Plan in Talent Management viewable by Employees.
Would appreciate your inputs.

By default this is not possible, but I know that Chris McNarney has done this before. It is quite complex to code from what I remember because it involves generating the MEM_ID.

Development Plans functionality in Talent Management
Hello,
We are planning to use the Development Plans functionality in Talent Management.
But the Development Plan is not opening from MSS. (MSS -> Talent management -> Assessment -> Development Plan).
I had created the Business partner object for all my test PERNRs and I had created a Development Plan Template (via IMG step in Talent management). I had activated the Business Functions and Services.
When I open the Development plan in MSS, it is showing the names of employees (i.e. the reports of the manager). But when I click on an employee, it's not opening any development plan. Nothing is happening.

You must first delete the template names from the customizing tables where it is stored (under Talent Assessment node of Talent Management and Talent Development). Then you delete it under PHAP_CATALOG. Unfortunately you have created an databse inconsistency and you might need to see if Basis can delete the values from the table.

Issues in career and succession planning in talent mangement
Dear Experts
We are configuring career and succession planning on EHP5, but observing following issues like I'm getting errors when running the calibration grid in Talent Assessment.
No entry for BAdI field RISK in table T77TMCAESFIELD
No entry for BAdI field CHANGE_NEED in table T77TMCAESFIELD
No entry for BAdI field RISK in table T77TMCAESFIELD
No entry for BAdI field IMPACT_LOSS in table T77TMCAESFIELD
Now as per the SCN inputs, while trying to enter these BADI fields in the above table by creating some dummy VB objects in existing appraisal template, its throwing me following dump, not sure the issue. Can someone please help me urgently in this regard.
Also in MSS, i am not finding any separate tab for career and succession planning. Please provide guidance where to find those also.

Development Plan Configuration details for Talent Management
Hi Gurus,
I need to know the configuration nodes used for Development Plans in Talent management.I created the development form in Talent Assessment -->Define Forms for Talent Assessment. & assigned a scale to it.
Now when I log in with the TMS id in portal & create a development form for one of the employees, I can see certain links & fields like : Add Action (link), when i click on Add action a screen pops up & asks for Action Type & Action Status.
Firstly i need to know where does these values get fetched from.
Secondly when i click on Add Action button, ideally it should give me 2 options :1. Add actions that can be freely defined and 2. Add training,but currently it just opens a window to create a new action.So how to control the same.

1. Actually, the dropw-down lists are filled from the table T77TMC_SCA_MAP, status is mapped with scale 8 and type is mapped is scale 9.
Customizing of this table can be reached trough transaction S_EH4_55000247.
2. The option is only shown when LSO integration is active.

TREX - Search Talent Management
Hi All,
I know that there are many threads on the TREX and have looked at all of them and tried some of the things but i still get the error search not available.
We have created all search connector in the admin cockpit and have indexed all of them with no errors. All 32 of them are active. I then ran report ESH_TEST_SEARCH to test the searches. All of the objects templates return results except the following:

For most of these templates I get the following error:
Search Engine Error 29 for DHR310HRTMC_FUNC_AREA : attribute not defined for physical index;index esh:dhr310dhr310hrtmc_func_area~functional_areayy has no attribute 'objid'.
For the HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW i get no results, it comes back no values and has a yellow traffic light in the Log viewer. In the Job Log in the Admin Cockpit i see the following

I also activated BADI HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW_DELTA in the IMG and ran report RPTMC_CREATE_CHANGEPOINT_AUTH. I then scheduled ESH_IX_PROCESS_CHANGE_POINTERS for the HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW, hoping the I would be returned with some results.howver
I do have a TMS linked to several org units via relation 741 and this is returned in the test search HRTMC_REL_S_O_RESP. In addition if I go to a Talent Review Meeting in the portal and click on 'ADD' to select an org unit, the managers of the Org Units that I am related to appear on the list. However as soon as I select any of them, they are added to the participant list but non of the nominated talents appear, i get the following message:
'No nominations are displayed since the search is not available'
for all other searches i get the error 'Search is not available' or 'No Relevant Records Were Found for This Search'
I Also checked SLG1 logs after attempting the searches and got the following errors:

I also tried creating my own serch request using one of the search templates returning results. In this case i used the HRTMC_REL_CP_TB_743 templates with talent group ID as search field and assigned it to one of the search configurations. I then however got the following error.

Talent Assessment - Development Plan

We set up the wohle talent assessment, but we cannot see any "Create, change or display" link on the Development Plan tab.

Hi Ranjit:
Creating Development Plan templates in EHP4 should be done through the IMG step: Talent Management & Talent Development -> Talent Assessment -> Define Forms For Talent Assessment
Once you create the form there and select "End Configuration" the appraisal template and it's subcomponents will automatically be set to "released" (HRP****-ISTAT = 4). However, if you attempt to go into HRTMC_CATALOG_TMC, unrelease the template, modify it, then attempt to re-relase it, you will not be successful.
The easiest answer would be.. create a new template using the IMG step I listed above. If you don't like that, in a very indirect way, you can release the template again by updating the ISTAT field of the various V* objects you have created. However, you're sure to have mixed results with this approach (I have lived this 1st hand).
Further, if you attempt to modify the template directly in HRTMC_CATALOG_TMC, that is only one half of the process. For instance, I wished to make the development plan printable. Since it's the same basic technology as performance appraisals, it seemed completely logical. There is a print layout option for the appraisal template, which for the development plan was blank. I tried to set the value to something and then in my very indirect way, was able to release the template with the change in place. Success (or so I thought)! The frontend Web Dynpro functionality (and Flash Island) basically will not accomodate whatever modifications you've made. So basically, the Talent Assessment configuration is meant to be done through the IMG step above and that's prettymuch your only option. Sorry I don't have better news.
