Talent Qualifications

Hello Experts,
My first question is regarding the way that the Talent Assessment uses the qualification proficiency scales. When you create a form for the Competency Assessment, for example, it prompts you to put in a scale for that form however, you can pull in qualifications from anywhere in your catalogue to use in your Competency Categories. My question is, does the scale that you input on the form override the scale of the qualifications you pull in if they are different?
Second question, does anyone know how to limit the display of the qualifications to just a specific qualification group from the Qualification Tab on the Talent Profile and the qualification catalog when selecting a "Development Step" from the qualifiication cataloge in the Talent IDP?  Right now when you search on the qualification catalog you see the entire catalog and it doesn't include qualification groups so employees get confused which area/department these qualifications are coming from. I'm wondering if an enhancement is needed?

Hi Sarah,
Question 1:
The scale you input when you create the form is used for the answers of any questions that you add to the template, not for rating the Qualifications. The Qualifications use the scale that was assigned to them or their Qualification Group when they were created.
Question 2:
This is a bug (well, 2 actually) and there is a SAP Note to correct it: 1835032 - Qualification search in talent profile. Basically you should be able to search by Qualifications, but the system only allows you to browse through the Qualifications Catalog.
Also, for the Development Plan see SAP Notes 1860704 - ESS Talent Profile: qualifications show incorrect names and 1845259 - TMC: Competency scale in development plan document as they are useful.

  • TREX - Search Talent Management

    Hi All,
    I know that there are many threads on the TREX and have looked at all of them and tried some of the things but i still get the error search not available.
    We have created all search connector in the admin cockpit and have indexed all of them with no errors. All 32 of them are active. I then ran report ESH_TEST_SEARCH to test the searches. All of the objects templates return results except the following:
    HRTMC_AES_DOCUMENTS
    HRTMC_AES_ELEMENTS
    HRTMC_AES_TEMPLATES
    HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW
    HRTMC_CENTRALPERSON
    HRTMC_FUNC_AREA
    HRTMC_JOB
    HRTMC_JOB_FAMILY
    HRTMC_ORG_UNIT
    HRTMC_POSITION
    HRTMC_QUALIFICATION
    HRTMC_REL_CP_JF_744
    HRTMC_REL_CP_Q_032
    HRTMC_TALENT_GROUP
    For most of these templates I get the following error:
    Search Engine Error 29 for DHR310HRTMC_FUNC_AREA : attribute not defined for physical index;index esh:dhr310dhr310hrtmc_func_area~functional_areayy has no attribute 'objid'.
    For the HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW i get no results, it comes back no values and has a yellow traffic light in the Log viewer. In the Job Log in the Admin Cockpit i see the following

    I also activated BADI HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW_DELTA in the IMG and ran report RPTMC_CREATE_CHANGEPOINT_AUTH. I then scheduled ESH_IX_PROCESS_CHANGE_POINTERS for the HRTMC_AUTHORITY_VIEW, hoping the I would be returned with some results.howver
    I do have a TMS linked to several org units via relation 741 and this is returned in the test search HRTMC_REL_S_O_RESP. In addition if I go to a Talent Review Meeting in the portal and click on 'ADD' to select an org unit, the managers of the Org Units that I am related to appear on the list. However as soon as I select any of them, they are added to the participant list but non of the nominated talents appear, i get the following message:
    'No nominations are displayed since the search is not available'
    for all other searches i get the error 'Search is not available' or 'No Relevant Records Were Found for This Search'
    I Also checked SLG1 logs after attempting the searches and got the following errors:

    I also tried creating my own serch request using one of the search templates returning results. In this case i used the HRTMC_REL_CP_TB_743 templates with talent group ID as search field and assigned it to one of the search configurations. I then however got the following error.

    Hi Experts,
    When we talk of Personnel Development in EHp 6.0 does it refer to Talent management as qualifications, appraisals also available in Talent management.
    Does it mean that PD is nomore a separate submodule & if we go with Talent Managemnt then we have have the employee devlopment also.
    So no need of going with PD , Dev activity can be achieved through Talent,is it so?

    The client wants employee development:
    Short Term & Long Term Dev Plan for Employees.
    Track & Monitor the progress of employee.
    Profile Matchup against positions to determine skills & knowledge of the employee.
    Training plans to adress the individual dev needs.
    These are few of the needs, but i dont think we have all these available in Talent.
    Please guide.

  • Master data templates for Talent management

    Dear All,
    Please let me know  if someone can provide me with templates for PD.
    We are in the midst of an implementation and the employee nos are huge.
    It would take a long time for the client to complete the talent architecture and hence do not want to miss any column when I provide them with the templates.
    Templates are required for,
    1. Qualification catalog, Qualification Upload
    2. For creating Requirement profile at job and position level.
    3. For creating Skill profile at employee level and grading them
    4.Career and Development plans.
    Anything else if I have missed....

  • Calling qualifications in Personnel Development forms

    Hi All,
    In training client have their own cmpentency matrix which i wan to configure in sap as qualification catalog.
    But here they have different compentency for every divc.ision and grades in every divisions. For example they hv 15 division like Marketing, Planning, Purchasing etc etc n in eveyry divison they have 5 grades like DGM, M-1, M-2 etc. which has diff desired level of compentencies.
    For this i have created all compentencies in qualification catalog n according to grades created Qualification Blocks.
    Now they diff forms based on division n grades as mentioned above which will be having list of desired competencies wit proficiencies and coloumn to capture actual level of proficiency.
    I was trying to create th same form in PD. So i wanted to know is there any way i can call qualifications or qualifications blocks with desired proficiencies maintained there against each qualification from Training module. So that i will not have to configure 75 forms for 15 division n 5grades in each division. This form will only have list of desired qualification thats it.
    Kindly suggest if there any other better way to handle this scenario.

    Closing the thread with the following answer:
    SAP had delivered the PD functionality via MSS in ENHP-4. The manager can manage the development Plans via MSS.
    Manager can also manage LMS course bookings and approvals via Manage Mandatory assignments, Manage Assignments Report and Manage, Manage Participation.
    Manager can access the employee's Career Plan via Talent Information under Talent Management folder.

  • Assign Qualification Catalog

    We created, qualification catalog, QK, and Qualifications via OOQA. Then created Qualification Categories,  via SPRO-Talent Mgmt and Talent Development-qualifications in Talent Management.
    Now need to assign Qualifications to Qualification Categories, what should be the object ID in the table here?
    Please help.

    just 2 things, how do I select multiple entries via OOQA, I did, while staying in the HRP1001 table, I selected the multiple column button, this gave me the list of all QK IDs and then I marked Check on each row of all QK object Ids, hope this is what you meant, not going to OOQA tcode in separate session, please confirm, becasue, going via OOQA give the tree of QK objects with Qs under each QK.
    Secondly, should I delete SOBID Column before downloading entries to the excel, if so, how can I do it?

  • E-rec: talent pool integration w/ external vacancy board

    Hi,
    Our customer is downsizing, which means 6000 employees will lose their jobs in the future. To help these employees find another job, our customer wants their e-recruiting application for internal employees to integrate with an external job postings/vacancies, example MonsterBoard. This way, management and also other employees can search for vacancies outside their business, and give advise/tell on employees what would fit their qualifications. This means that the customers Talent Pool, with all education, work experience and other qualifications,  should be open for external job postings/vacancies.
    The integration is two-ways and the two parties must share databases. Mapping of qualification and other vacancy specific data is also a must. I also suspect we face a search engine challenge.
    Does anyone have experience on an implementation with functionality as described?
    Any competance on the topic is welcome!

    The SAP Talent Visualization by Nakisa application consists of four components: Succession Planning, OrgChart, OrgModeler, and HCM Dashboard. Customers can choose to license HR Professional users in order to access the capabilities of all four components. This requires corresponding HR Professional licenses in SAP. If only the OrgChart option is required, customers must license the Employee user option and have corresponding SAP Employee users.     Im new to Talent Management.I was going through the steps in SPRO. In Succession planning,we have  Qualifications,Work Experience and Education details that are to be captured.And the same Fields related to Candidate and Requisition is Captured in Erec----->TalentWarehouse--->Candidate,Requisition(Spro path).I wanted to know why these fields are to be maintained multiple times.Is it because there are not integrated with other,or any other reason.Pls help me out in this

    Hi,
    before EHP4 Succession Planning was part of e-recruiting. With EHP4 succession planning/Talent management is a separate module. If you use Talent Management you do not have to maintain talent data in SPRO path for e-recruiting. Please do it under Talent Management for internal employees ( not for candidates)

  • Core competency in Talent Profile

    Hi All
    I am working on talent management in ehp6 environment. In talent profile overview through MSS/TMS , the core competency is not getting displayed.Its showing NO data available.Although we have maintained the competency at that position as well as at person level.Still its not getting populated under the tab Core competency in talent profile.
    Am I missing something.?

    Hi Smitri,
    If the Person has the qualifications assigned that are also assigned to the Core Competencies category in the IMG then they should display. I would double check your authorizations just to be sure.
    Just to check: are you using P 032 Q relationship and not infotype 0024 or CP 720 Q relationship?

    My requirement is to create a talent management specialist role , who can manage the qualifications of the employees and this role is not given to the regular managers.
    Either I can replicate the MSS home page and include talent profile in the employee menu , wherein I need to have it for the Z org views.
    Or Second option is to use the competency matchup view , but the problem is, the view is showing blank data and I need to show this also for the customOrg views (Like all employees, substituted employees etc).
    Please suggest if there a way to specify the custom org views created in OADP for the home page view and competency matchup view, so that the specialist gets the option to maintain qualification for the selected group of employees only or anything standard is available for this requirement.
    We are on MSS add on 1.0 and BP for MSS add on on portal.

As you mentioned in one post I have checked that node in talent management / view V_T77TMCQ_CAT_Q ,but if you take Qualifications one employee can add their qualifications through employee profile in portal and the same will get stored in infotype 24 likewise is there any specific functionality to add the core competencies in backend so that we can view the same in portal.It would be better if you explained with some examples.
           And how core competencies, competency are differing in TD??

    Issue in EHP5 Talent Management (Team Goals) Cascade goals functionality.
    Under Team Object While try to cascade goals, it pop-Up Warning Msg u201CChoose Save to save the goal in the employee document. The goal can no longer be deleted, only set to obsoleteu201D.
    If we click Ok to proceed further, I am getting error stating u201CYou have made no selection" and " No appraisal template defined ".
    Same functionality is working fine in u201CPerformance Management (Predefined)u201D

    Please  set the parameter PROCESS "PMP" in the iview configuration.

    The parameter mentioned in the note 1457057, the one that you enter in
    transaction SE80 is the default value. However, if you call application
    with parameter PROCESS=PMP then the PMP process for cascading goals will
    be used.
