Tandberg 150 Video Phone

Has anyone tried connecting a Tandberg 150 video phone to a CallManager 4.0 environment?
We have configured one as an h.323 device.
We can make audio and video phones from any IP phone TO the Tandberg150.
BUT - when we try to make a call FROM the Tandberg150 to an IP phone, the Tandberg screen flashes up with Call Proceeding, and then instantly says Call Diconnected. The IP phone does nothing.
Any ideas as to what may be missing?

The current version is L4.1 and I remember that there were a lot of issues around communicating to CallManager back when L1.0 was released.

Unfortunately, when the product was first released, the upgrade process was not as easy as it is in the current version of software. I would recommend calling the TANDBERG TAC at 866-TANDBERG or e-mail [email protected] to upgrade your system from L1.0. You will also need a release key for the upgrade.

  • Tandberg C40 Video Conference not established just Audio Call

    I'm running CUCM 9.1 with Tandberg C40 TC5.1.11 + MCU3515. When a Video Call has been established it works like a charm but when a 3erd Video Phone is added the video conference is established but the tandberg display a "Audio Call" message. The video conference is established running a MCU3515.
    What's wrong? Do I need a additional license? This is the license installed:

    You're issue to me is hard to follow and understand, if you could let us know more about what you're trying to do, it would help, be as descriptive as possible if you can.
    At what point are you seeing the "audio call" message on the C40?  Typically you'll see that when the C40 already has one video call connected, anything that tries to connect after that will take the remaining audio only port, as the C40 can support 1 video call and 1 audio only call.

    Sorry Godov but I cant help.
    shajilal, if youre using VZWireless then you would need VZ Access Manager to tether your BB.  You also have to make sure that the tethering feature is turned on (paid for).

  • Video Phone only works when specific user initiates connection

    I have an application based on the Cirrus Video phone demo as presented here:

    In general, this works fine, but for one specific user with whom I test, I have the following issue:
    When I initate the call, we are paired together by Cirrus, but his video/audio does not transmit to me. He can however see and hear me just fine.
    When he initaites the call, everything works fine.
    I'm concerned that this is an issue re. NAT/Firewall setup on standard home broadband connections, in that UDP is allowed through his firewall when the firewall sees that the connection has been initiated by him.
    I'm a web developer, rather than a Flash developer, and I'm just looking for a few leads so that I can investigate this.

    My application works as follows:
    User1 (me) askes User2 (friend) if they would like to speak via AJAX text chat system
    When User2 confirms that they would like to do this:
    User1 browser loads Flash app
    Flash app connects and obtains session key from cirrus
    Flash app writes that session key to database
    User2 browser loads Flash app
    Flash app checks DB to see if session key exists
    If not, it waits, and check again in 10 secs
    When session key is finally found, Flash app connects to cirrus
    Cirrus now exchanges network data between clients, and P2P connection is established
    Call is placed from User2 to User1
    User1 answers
    Video and audio transmission starts from User1, and is received by User2
    No Video and audio transmission is received by User1 from User2 (text chat over Cirrus is however possible)
    All of this works in the majority of cases with other users, and when the roles are reversed, it also works.
    The only time it doesn't work, it when I try to call my friend.
    The behaviour described above can be seen in both my app, and the sample provided by Adobe at:

    I hear what you are saying about RTMFP, but it really doesn't look like a coding problem, unless that problem also exists in the Adobe demo.

  • 506e need to enable Video Phone

    I have setup a company site using a 506e using PDM and all is going well.
    Recently we hired some hearing impaired personnel and we are installing some video phones for them - Sorensen VP-200. Currently all I can get to function is outbound voice, inbound voice/video does not work.
    The info I have is that this device needs to allow any IP to connection inbound on 1720 - H323 TCP
    with an inclusive port range of 15328 - 15348 TCP/UDP.
    I have not been able to get this device configured to enable succesful communications in both directions. I have read through the PIX admin pdf and I just cannot get this device working. I have checked this device at home and it works.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    When an outbound packet arrives at a PIX Firewall higher security level interface (security levels can be viewed with the show nameif command), the PIX Firewall checks to see if the packet is valid based on the Adaptive Security Algorithm, and then whether or not previous packets have come from that host. If not, then the packet is for a new connection, and PIX Firewall creates a translation slot in its state table for the connection. The information that PIX Firewall stores in the translation slot includes the inside IP address and a globally unique IP address assigned by Network Address Translation (NAT), Port Address Translation (PAT), or Identity (which uses the inside address as the outside address). The PIX Firewall then changes the packet's source IP address to the globally unique address, modifies the checksum and other fields as required, and forwards the packet to the lower security level interface.

    It is unlikely to work with iChat as it most likely uses different protocols.

    iChat uses H264 and H263 as the video codec.
    How it actually connects to another iChat or AIM Pc user if another set of Protocols.
    Other Video conferencing apps use H323 and you may need to look at apps that can do that.

    I spend hours a day watching Youtube videos on my phone! It is one of my favorite pastimes! FYI, I don't do it at work though, just in case my boss is reading this! May I ask what device are you watching the Youtube videos on? Is it the blackberry curve that you have stated in your profile? Also, are you watching the videos directly from the website or from an app that was downloaded from blackberry app world? 
    There are a couple of options for you to try to get this issue resolved. If you are using a Youtube app or 3rd party app to watch the videos then I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app onto the device. If it's a 3rd party app then I recommend contacting the developer for additional assistance or to report the error, at the very least.
    Another option is to perform software update/refresh on your blackberry. This can be done from a computer using the blackberry desktop manager. The process takes about 20-30 minutes if you already have the desktop manager installed. If you do not have the desktop manager installed then you can visit the link below to download it from blackberry's website.

    From the link above, you can download the desktop manager for either PC or Mac. Once you have completed the software refresh, please retry the Youtube videos to see if the performance have improved. If not then please reply to this message for additional options to explore.

    Hi, I found no docs on it, however a sniffing session unveiled the secret.
    Just follow the instructions for customizing the 7975 background and change the size from 320x216 to 800x600 (everywhere, size of the image, name of the directory, etc).
    I also created the thumbnail image but it seems not to be used by the 7985.

    If 7985 video phone allow multiple video calls at time then what is the procedure to enable multiple calls.

By using MCU I should be able to establish three way (Multi Point) video conference over 7985 Phone. So this means three people (Phones) would be able to see each others.

    Can anyone suggest a soft video phone application that will work with a release of CCM and if you have a configuration/design guide for such an implementation it would be much appreciated.

    The only thing I can think of is Microsoft's NetMeeting. YOu can configure that as a standard H.323 end point. VT Advantage doesn't work yet with IP Communicator but I have a feeling it will soon

    AF41 is actually a Per Hop Behavior (PHB) which basically tells a DiffServ compliant node how to treat a packet. The decimal DSCP value for AF41 is 34. AF41 is the recommended PHB for video. Take a look at the following link for more information on PHBs. The bandwidth you reserve for video will depend on the data rate supported by your video unit. The link below gives details on capacity planning for video. You'll need to consider the data rate for your video unit, how many video units you have, and how many should be able to make simultaneous calls across the WAN. As referenced in the link, if your video units are capable of consuming more bandwidth than you have available, you will need to implement some for of Call Admission Control (CAC).

    Honestly speaking - there's no way to recommend you one unless I know the exact environment you're placing it in.
    Google 'Skype video phone' and you'll get a whole list, pick the one that looks like it suits you best, they all do the same thing!

    Although really, we're in the 21st century now - what's your budget? You'd be better off getting them an iPad or smart device - they're simple enough to operate and they do far more besides just skype video calls than a video phone can ever do.
