Tandberg Duo Video

Hi,
We are having a major issue with this H.239 implementation from Tandberg called Duo Video. For those that don't know, it's the ability to put a presentation from the PC side-by-side or Picture-in-Picture with a Videoconference.
The problem we are experiencing is that it drops packets. This occurs at the WAN edge whenever we send the Duo Video from the PC; not when we send normal video.
It turns out the "Sharpness" setting on the endpoint will convert the PC image to an XVGA protocol. As soon as we begin to send that H.239 stream the packets start dropping like mad. What can it be?
If we send the entire video call 'best-effort' then the packets don't drop; however, as soon as we begin marking and matching the QoS policy, packets drop.
Also, if we set the Duo Video to “Motion” and the image is converted to a CIF protocol, we don’t drop packets but the PC image is illegible.
Anyone out there using Duo Video?? Sure could use the help.
Thanks!

Cisco IP/VC 3511 Series Videoconferencing Products support H.239 .
the MCM gatekeeper support H.239 .

  • Tandberg 150 Video Phone

Has anyone tried connecting a Tandberg 150 video phone to a CallManager 4.0 environment?
We have configured one as an h.323 device.
We can make audio and video phones from any IP phone TO the Tandberg150.
BUT - when we try to make a call FROM the Tandberg150 to an IP phone, the Tandberg screen flashes up with Call Proceeding, and then instantly says Call Diconnected. The IP phone does nothing.
Any ideas as to what may be missing?
    Thanks

The current version is L4.1 and I remember that there were a lot of issues around communicating to CallManager back when L1.0 was released.
Please refer to http://ftp.tandberg.net/pub/software/endpoints/personal_series/150/ for the software release notes.
Unfortunately, when the product was first released, the upgrade process was not as easy as it is in the current version of software. I would recommend calling the TANDBERG TAC at 866-TANDBERG or e-mail [email protected] to upgrade your system from L1.0. You will also need a release key for the upgrade.

  • Tandberg C40 video feed to DMP4400G

Hello - I need to take video output from a Tandberg C40 (off the HDMI out port) and convert it to a multicast stream a DMP4400G can pick up.  Can anyone recommend a piece of hardware that can successfully do that?  I have looked at the Cisco SA encoder.  I've also read a post here about the Qvidium encoder.  Any others - a product that is known to work today?
    Thanks,
    Kenny

It doesn't exactly solve your problem but you should take a look at the
Tandberg Content Server - It allows you to stream / record from any
Tandberg endpoint so may let you solve the problem in another way.
It can't go live from the content server to the DMP for the same reasons you can't go from the DMEs to DMPs

  • Tandberg C40 Video Conference not established just Audio Call

    Hi,
I'm running CUCM 9.1 with Tandberg C40 TC5.1.11 + MCU3515. When a Video Call has been established it works like a charm but when a 3erd Video Phone is added the video conference is established but the tandberg display a "Audio Call" message. The video conference is established running a MCU3515.
What's wrong? Do I need a additional license? This is the license installed:
    Valid release key:
    Yes
    Installed options:
    NaturalPresenter, PremiumResolution, DualDisplay
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Leo -
You're issue to me is hard to follow and understand, if you could let us know more about what you're trying to do, it would help, be as descriptive as possible if you can.
At what point are you seeing the "audio call" message on the C40?  Typically you'll see that when the C40 already has one video call connected, anything that tries to connect after that will take the remaining audio only port, as the C40 can support 1 video call and 1 audio only call.

Does it matter? NO REGISTER packets arrived to server, i was sniffing traffic.
Problem solved just after i entered valid DNS server address in IP parameters. Why would it need DNS if i'm using direct IP addresses...
Anyways, my SIP server (Asterisk) does not support duo-video and because there is two video streams in SDP message, it choses wrong RTP port and streams other's side video to presentation channel.

  • Register TANDBERG MXP 6000 over SIP

Hi, i have MXP6000 with 9.1 software. Cant make it register with SIP. No single packet comes from MXP to server.
Has anyone been able to make it register with SIP server?
    Config is quite simple:
xConfiguration Conference SIP URI: "[email protected]"
    *c xConfiguration SIP Mode: On
*c xConfiguration SIP Server Discovery: Manual
*c xConfiguration SIP Server Address: "10.96.37.10"
*c xConfiguration SIP Server Type: Auto
*c xConfiguration SIP Authentication UserName: "6000"
*c xConfiguration SIP Transport Default: UDP
*c xConfiguration SIP TLS Verify: Off
*c xConfiguration SIP ICE Mode: Off
*c xConfiguration SIP MNS Mode: Off

*c xConfiguration SIP DefaultCandidate Type: Host
*c xConfiguration SIP Legacy Mask: ""
*c xConfiguration SIP ReplyTo URI: ""

  • How does Tandberg Gatekeeper call Call Manager SCCP extensions

Am I missing something here? I have CUCM 8.6 with h225 trunk built to Tandberg Gatekeeper (works fine). I have two Tandberg 150 video endpoints that are registered to the Tandberg Gatekeeper, extensions 8001 and 8002 (alias is what you call it I guess). The video enpoints can dial eachother by their extensions and work fine. The CUCM SCCP phones can dial extension 8001 and 8002 and ring the video phones to make voice only calls, which is fine. Had to build route patterns/lists/groups for this. How the heck do you dial a CUCM SCCP phone, like extension 1450 from the Tandberg video endpoint? Theres nothing in the Tandberg Gatekeeper to configure to route this call from a Tandberg Gateeper registerd phone to the Call Manager SCCP phone. This is just a simple lab setup.

    Anthony,
Its interesting you say that because that is the total opposite of my experience.  I'm currently working on a CME 9.5 to Exchange 2013 deployment where most users have DIDs.
When a call comes in to the extension to which the DID points, and the call rolls over to Exchange typically we receive a message stating that there is no mailbox associated with the extension because Exchange is reading the first diversion header information
(Wireshark shows two headers and the DID is always numbered 1) which has the DID number rather than the redirecting extension.  I've had to either add the last 3 digits of the DID to the users mailbox or manually transform the SIP INVITE diversion header
    to get around this problem.

  • Is lack of support on Macbook Pros enough to go with a Dell?

I posted here about a month ago about what kind of Dell laptop to get, actually, whether the Dell Ubuntu laptops were sturdy. I came to the conclusion that probably the best Dell would be the business model Latitude D630.
However, my conscience has been aching at me. I really hate Microsoft and Vista and just the THOUGHT of supporting them makes me cringe. I know many others don't care as much as I do, I just DON'T wanna contribute towards that terrible product. No, I won't use it, but that doesn't change the fact that I am buying it and thus supporting it. And with the Dell Latitude D630 you have to get it with Windows.
So I started looking into Macbook Pros. I have always liked Mac OSX and genuinely wouldn't mind dual-booting Arch and Leopard.
HOWEVER, I am concerned. Not only do Macbooks cost so much in general, google and searching at your forum has shown that perhaps support for Mac hardware on Linux still isn't the best. I wouldn't want to buy a computer only to find that it is not really usable with Linux. ;-; Seeing as Linux IS my primary OS.
Well, for starters here is a spec comparison between the two with the specific modifications I would be making:
    D630:
    Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T9300 (2.50GHz) 6M L2 Cache, 800Mhz Dual Core
    Video Card: 128MB NVIDIA® Quadro NVS 135M™
    Wireless Card: Intel® 3945 802.11a/g Dual-Band Mini Card
    MBP:
Processor: 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT with 256MB
    Wireless Card: ??
And it has something called a Double-layer SuperDrive? Okay, I have no idea what that is. XD
So it seems like everything would pretty much run native on the Dell one, while on the Macbook it would be harder?
Would I get better performance out of the Dell and thus be wasting my money on the Macbook? From google I can see a lot of people have trouble with sound. x_X Would sound just not work and/or be bad quality? That woudn't be good. And with bad performance on the graphics card, skipping, etc. Okay, why? Isn't that all just Nvidia drivers? So the fact it's on a mac shouldn't matter, right? Will the Nvidia on the Dell perform better on Linux than the Nvidia on a Macbook Pro because of this? That just... makes no sense to me.
And the wireless? So is the wireless for the Dell native and the macbook not (for Linux) so the Dell's will perform better? Am I just gonna have a lot of problems trying to run Linux on a Macbook that I can't solve?
I mean, I've googled, but for those who have tried, what are some other problems I haven't mentioned I may have missed?
:? I'm just nervous. I hate Windows so much, but if I spend money on a machine that costs 500 dollars more only to find it performs significantly worse than the cheaper one would have, it would be x_X I'm just worried of possible huge problems. And don't understand precisely why they occur. If all else fails, I can get the Dell. My conscience will just feel REALLY guilty about it.
    XD

If you're thinking about throwing down the dough for a Macbook Pro, I would recommend getting yourself a Lenovo T61. There's even one that comes with openSUSE and no Windows. You will also be able to get a machine with comparable specifications for less money.
I've been on pretty much the same arc as you. I'm looking at purchasing my next machine. I looked at the Dell XPS 1530 and the Latitudes. The Macbook Pro presentation is pretty nice, but when I thought about it, it seemed silly to pay all that money for an OS I wouldn't really use and what was basically commodity laptop hardware. Then I thought I'd look at the ThinkPads. I've got an older T43 that I got as a gift and it is great, but I thought that Thinkpads were much more costly than they really are. To my surprise their prices are very competitive with Dell's prices and they are much lower than Apple's prices. The T61 also looks pretty good, has very good construction quality and generally good Linux support to boot.
Anyway, just my $0.02, I know it's a bit off topic, but you might see something you like.
    Regards,
    j

  • An iMac 20" with an 20" Cinema Display as second screen in dual

I'm planning to buy an iMac 20" but I want to be sure of something before. I want to know if the screen of an iMac 20" and an 20" Cinema Display put together will be exactly at the same position. I search a lot online to have a picture of this but I only found some 17" iMac put together of an 20" Cinema Display. If someone can answer and/or give me a picture of this that would be really nice.

Here is a quote from the user reviews section of Amazon.com, about the new 20 inch Imac core duo:
Video out - The new iMac, for the first time ever, features a Mini-DVI output. This allows, with adapters, the ability to connect the iMac to a DVI display, a television via composite or S-video, or an analog display via VGA. I have my new iMac Core Duo connected to my 20-inch Apple Cinema Display, and it works perfect! A nice feature. This allows for screen-spanning, so I can take advantage of both screens.

  • Problems with calls after VCS 8.22 upgrade

I've recently upgraded one of my VCS devices to 8.2.2, but I'm having some problems.
    Setup is as follows:
    VCS-C-1: X8.2.2
    VCS-E: 7.2
    VCS-C-2: 7.2
    EX90s: 7.2
    EX90 > VCS-C-1 (8.2.2) > Neighbour Zone > VCS-E (7.2) > Traversal Zone > VCS-C-2 (7.2)
Call is SIP the whole way.
Calls fail in either direction (connects but not audio or video).  Was working fine before upgrading VCS-C-1 from 7.2 to 8.2.2.
If I change the neighbour zone from VCS-C-1 to the VCS-E to use a "Custom" profile with "Duo Video Filter" set to "On", it works fine, although that way I can't use presentation properly.  Likewise if I introduce interworking into any part of the call path (force one leg to H323) it works, but again, interworking has its own set of other issues.  Lastly, if I register either endpoint to the VCS-E, everything works, it just won't work when going through all three call hops.
The VCS-E is controlled by me so can be upgraded if required, however VCS-C-2 is in another organisation so upgrading that one is likely to be much more difficult.
I know there were changes to how Duo Video works in X8 - I notice it's moved from a global SIP command to per-zone, I imagine this has something to do with it.
    Any ideas?

    Update on this:
    Upgraded the VCS-E, no change (again, I can't upgrade VCS-C number 2).
I've tested with E20s and SIP from a TS server - both work fine, it's only TC endpoints that seem to have the problem.
I've experimented with different call paths (we've got quite a few VCSs, a mix of X7 and X8) - in each case, it seems it matters what version the unit is registered to.  As long as the EX90 is registered to a X7 VCS, it works fine, you can have as many X8s with neighbour and/or traversal zones as you want.  As soon as it registers to an X8 VCS, the problem occurs.
Lastly, I see that the non-working call is establishing as AES-128, whereas before the upgrade encryption was turned off.

  • Bridged Call verses Point-to-Point Call

    Hello all,
I am currently in the middle of rolling out a Tandberg/Codian video conferencing solution, using Codian MCU, Codian IP Gateway, Codian ISDN Gateway and Tandberg endpoints. And I am experiencing video quality issues when on bridged calls (calls connecting through the MCU), I can see the video quality is not as crisp and there is a delay in motion compare to point to point calls (direct calls without MCU), video quality is much crisper and there is no delay in motion on point to point calls.
    - Has anyone run into this type of issue with the similar setup ?
    - Can someone help explain why this type of issue happens ?
    - Any ideas on how to go about fixing this type of issue ?
    I appreciate any inputs / suggestions !!!
    Danny

Are you talking about using overlapping networks? if so you can try using nat.

    Hope this helps someone.

I think it is a stretch. Snow Leopard forum has had a lot of people "comment" it is a memory hog and sluggish on older hardware.
Setup the dual boot, but 160GB isn't a lot, and Ive seen too many under estimate how much space to allocate to Windows 7 in Boot Camp.
It all depends on what and why, like gaming is never good in a VM.
And Windows 7 Pro? why? Word? I guess Word 2011 or 2008 for Mac won't cut it? Seems like if you must that kind of thing might do in a VM.
Try Windows and Word with VirtualBox.
Post your question to VMWare Community.
Apple is contradictory on Windows questions. I don't think people here are (or not too much). I didn't like Fusion enough to give up running Windows natively, and I've got hardware to handle it.

    Fixing a Mavericks Installation Problem
How to manage a failed OS X Mavericks installation | MacFixIt - CNET Reviews.
    Try these in order:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

an external HD that had been on the desktop (i.e. I forgot to eject it
properly), started displaying video anomalies (lines); testing
(TechTool Deluxe 3.1.3) indicates the video is failing.
The graphics card is an ATI Radeon X1600. Is this reasonably
replaceable? If so, is the "MPC ClientPro 434 All In One ATI MXM X1600
PCIe 128MB Video Card" I found on eBay (for $25, used) essentially the
    same unit?
My soldering skills are, sadly, poor.
And it only dawned on me a couple days ago that because this iMac does
not have a Core 2 Duo processor, it will not be able to enter the
    "Lion" generation.
    Thanks,
    Patrick
PS Are manuals for this model available? I have a copy of the Peachpit
Apple Training Series "Desktop and Portable Systems, Second Edition"
but it only goes up to the G5 20" iMac. There doesn't appear to be a
3rd or later edition in the series.

    Hello,
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
    Thank you.
