Target Cost (Planned Cost)

Hi All..
Preliminary Costing of Product Cost Collector is created. After backflush activity, the PCC display is not showing TARGET COSTS in Costs detail screen.
wat could be the cause for this..?? how to rectify it..??
As Target Costs are all ZERO ( for materils and activity) Target / Actual variance shows 100% variance..
Please guide me to solve dis..
With regards,
LN

Hi LN
To get the target cost. You should have runned the cost estimates for a material through CK 11N or For all material in CK 40 N.
Then only the target cost will appear. Otherwise planned cost only will appear.

  • Target cost, planned cost, actual cost difference

    Hi!
As per my understanding , the target cost, planned cost, actual will be calculated like blow:
Actual cost = Actual quanity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of goods movement.
Planned cost = Planned quantity * Planned price ( standard price or moving average price) existed at the time of production order release based on valuation variant strategy.
Target cost = Planned Quantity * Actual price ( standard price or moving average price) when calculating variances.
    whether above formulas are correct?
I have one scenario, where in process order, I am not seeing Planned quanity for compoenent/raw material, but target quanity is existed. How it is possible. When I have checked the BOM in process order, the BOM does not contain the componenet.

    Hi,
Target Cost = Costs as per the standard cost estimate * Actual Qty delivered.
For e.g. Std cost for one unit of material-x is as follows.
    RM 1 - 10kg * 10 /-  = 100
    Activity 1 - 5 Hr * 50 /-  = 250
If the actual delivery from the production is 2 units, then target cost will update as
    Under Goods Issue, RM 1 - (10kg*2units) * 10 /- = 200
    Under Confirmations, Activity 1 - (5 Hr*2units) * 50/- = 500
    Total = 200+500 = 700
Target cost for goods issue/confirmation of activities will update only when the Goods receipt has been done but not at the time of goods issue or Confirmation of activities.
Target cost for Goods Receipt will update only when the variance has been calculated for the order.

  • DBTable with fields 'Cost Element, Act Cost , Planned Costs'

Could anybody suggest me, name of the Database Table with the combination of fields 'Cost Element,Actual Cost & Plan Costs'.
    Thanks in Advance.

From your question it is a bit hard to answer. But tables COSP and COSS both contain totals per cost element.
Is this what you are looking for?

  • Target/Actual/Planned Costs inProduction Order

    All,
Can any one explain with example how planned, target, actual cost are calculated for a production order. and also when exactly these are recorded.
    Thanks in advance
    Sivaram

    Hi Sivaram
Target Costs is Std costs for actual goods delivered
Actual Costs are for actual cost of material and activities for actual delivered stock
Here, delivered stock is same in both only the costs consdiered are diff
The diff between target and actual costs is posted to variance.
Goods movement is done with actual price of raw material generally.  If u hv price contrl S for RM then it is at standards and all variances are only related to quantity.
Actual costs are compared with standard costs of goods delivered to stock and varainces are calculated for the production order
Regarding scrap costs - it should be separate line item.  It depends on many other settings in BOM, Routing, MM and Cost comp structure.  Depending on where the scrap is defined calculations are done
If u have defined planned scrap, and is part of cost comp structure, u can get plan vs actual scrap costs
You can also have scrap as not part of cost comp structure and record only actual scrap costs.
Please assign points if the above clarifies further as a way to say thanks

  • Actual Costs , Planned Costs and Variance

    Hi,
I know that there is a standard function module that gives the actual costs , tha target costs and variance, K_KKB_KKBCS_ORDER_REPORT. But is there any Funcion Module  for calculating the Actual and planned costs and variance?  or could the same FM be used for the purpose?

    OK

  • Diff bet Budgetted cost & Planned Cost

    Hi,
I created a project with Planned cost of Rs 1000 & then i budgtted amt of Rs 800 against it.But when in cj20n I generate any Purchase requisition against it System gives Error as Error in commitment items. Is always we hv to budget the same amt as in planned cost ?

Planned Costs are not binding but budgets are. You usually do planning first and then refer them to do you budgeting. Commitment check happens on Budget Values.
You can transfer the plan values into budget, you can do this either in CJ40 using Copy View option (copy plan costs) else use IMCCP3.
IMCCP3 is basically used for IM related planning and budgeting but it still works for copying the plan values as budgets.

  • Easy cost planning - cost element

    Hi,
while creating an easy cost planning using a cost template, the system proposes a cost element (linked to the activity type). Can we propose by default another cost element ? (using a user exit ?) We tried to do it in the derivation rules for the cost template, but didn 't had any luck..
    thanks in advance !!

  • Easy Cost Planning -Costing has already been completed. No changes possible

    Hi,
I am in Easy Cost Planning tool and i would like to remove some items or add in some items.
The system is giving a message that "Costing has already been completed. No changes possible"
May i know where did we complete the costing(Transaction code?) such that no changes are possible on East Cost Planning tool anymore?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Check the Costing Model in CKCM and do changes as per your requirement.
Now Use this costing Model in CJ20N while cost planning for wbse. you can change cost plan here also as per wbse specific requirement.

  • Product cost planning & cost object controlling

    Hi All
We are using KMAT material type for configurable materials.
    Product cost planning:
My question is , Can we save cost estimate for the Kmat materials?
( I am assuming I dont have to run CK40N for these materails , As I am not going to have accounting tab for Kmat materails. and I do not know which materails and operations to use in super Bom and Super routing)
Please let me know If the above statement is true.
    Cost object controlling:
Can i use cost obect controlling by production order or PCC?
*I am assuming I will be ale to use only cost object controlling by sales order....But I have nt worked on this previously...If I have to use cost object controlling by sales order , can you guys give me a link or steps that helps me in  configuring Cost object controlling by sales order*

  • Planned Cost Table

Product Costing - Planned Cost & Target Cost.
Can you pls let me know the table in which the Planned cost & Target Cost appearing in CO03 --> Go to --> Cost --> Analysis gets stored especially when Production order created against WBS?

    Look at the following tables
    AUFK
    COBRB
    COSP
    COSS
    COSL
    COSB
when you goto CO03 --> Go to --> Cost --> Analysis, SAP transfers the control to the transaction code KKBC_ORD , so if you're writing an custom ABAP program I suggest you study the code of that program and use the function modules used in it. Or else you can directly use the SUBMIT command and get the values of from the memory ( you need to search for this in ABAP forums if you want go this way)

  • Planned Costs by Quarter

Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions on how we could enter planned costs per quarter for a project? I see we can enter planned costs per monthly period per cost element but not per quarter. Preferably, I would not need to use cost element planning and could simply plan overall, yearly, or quarterly per project. Thanks for the advice.
    Shaun.

    Hi Shaun,
Before going to implement cost planning, Pl. refer the following link of SAP Help on COST.
Once you get overall brief or clear idea of  different cost planning functionalities of SAP PS, based on the need of your project, you can go with cost planning : cost element Planning /Activity Type Planning / hierarchy cost planning(Overall/Yearly)/unit costing(Not relevent to period)/asynchronus network cost planning.
And we have Std Cost element and Hierarchy reports to compare the Project's  Actual cost with Planned Cost.
You can compare project cost in many ways like  WBS element wise, Value category wise,Period/Financial wise, Business Transaction wise and cost element wise.
And also  compare project costs in different versions.

  • Easy cost planning in Project & sales pricing

    Dear All
When i was trying to create easy cost planning from project, I am uable to get the costing variant. I have done basic settings. But the same is not working properly
Kindly advise me how do i do this?
I need to create easy cost planning from project and from project i need to create salespricing through DP91. I have assigned DIP profile in project profile.
    Please advise
    Regards
    Deepu Pillai

    Hi,
Yes, that is the key that determines how a cost estimate is performed and valuated.
Depending on the object being costed, either the functions of either unit costing or product costing can be used.To calculate the costs of producing a material, you create a product cost estimate with or without a quantity structure
In a cost estimate with a quantity structure, the costing variant determines the following:
    1. Which dates are valid for the cost estimate itself and for exploding and valuating the quantity
        structure.
    2. How the BOMs and routings are selected to create the quantity structure
    3. Which prices are selected to valuate the quantity structure
    4. How overhead is calculated
You create a unit cost estimate to cost the following objects:
1.Materials (cost estimate without quantity structure)
    2.Materials (additive cost estimate)
    3.Production orders in Controlling
    4.Internal orders
    5.WBS elements
    6.Base planning objects
    7.Cost object IDs
    8.Sales documents
In unit costing, the costing variant determines which prices are selected to valuate the individual costing items and how overhead is calculated.
Costing variants are also used to calculate costs for Production orders,Networks,Maintenance orders,
Run schedule headers,Process orders,Sales document items,Appropriation requests,Ad hoc cost estimates.
A costing variant is linked to the control parameters like Costing type,Valuation variant,
Date control (in costing with and without quantity structure).
    For config of Costing Variant,
Go to SPRO- Project system-Costs-Planned Costs-Costing-Define Costing Variants
    Hope this helps.

No, it could not help me. I need the information like this:
    Order               Material           Quan            Plan Cost
    11......242        1.......254          10 M3           1000 VND
    Condition: Order has been TECO.
At this point: when you change Standard Cost Material 1....254, the Plan Cost is unchanged
