Target Message for generation HTML email?? : Michal's Blog (2718)

hey folks,
I'm trying out the scenario described in Michal's blog <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/23/xi-html-e-mails-from-the-receiver-mail-adapter">XI: HTML e-mails from the receiver mail adapter ?</a>
What should be the target message type/interface which is generated by XSLT mapping? If it is an message type containing relevant HTML tags (HTML, BODY, P, OL etc), is there any standard XSD/DTD for HTML tags..something similar to XSD for mail package?
The XSLT mapping seems to generate a HTML code w/o any XML header (<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>). Is an XML message w/o this header valid?
I appreciate your help/inputs
thx in adv
praveen

Praveen,
it can be anything
Reason is that the output of your XSL mapping will not be validated against the target XSD and so you can create a dummy messagetype or use the source itself as the target message type etc.

  • Page for complex HTML email

I have created this page for to email as a complex HTML
email--emailing from Safari via the Apple Mail program.
    Francis Smith /
    Hampton Designer Showhouse
Some folk who receive this email will NOT be using email that
can handle complex HTML--and so will see a big mess of info.
How do I "show a message" to these folk with a link to my
site, to be at the top of the messy page they'll see. For
instance.: "if you see this, your email does not display complex
HTML. Please go to my site here: (a clickable link)." ???
    Thank you for your help.
    Francis
PS: I know my site is old fashioned--tables and frames! But
it was what i could figure out.... Thanks!

By the way - the page is 2.1 MB total weight.

  • How to change bounce message for spam tagged email?

    Hello,
I'm checking outgoing email messages for spam. I will send bounce to email sender (user from my domain) if message is tagged as positive or suspected spam. ok, I can set it, but how can I change text in bounce message?
default bounce if mail is tagged as spam is:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
    Subject: FW: something
    Sent: 7/12/2009 8:33 PM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
[email protected] on 7/12/2009 8:35 PM
The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator.
    <smtp.domain.com #5.0.0 smtp; 5.x.0 - Message bounced by administrator (delivery attempts: 0)>
^^ but there is no information for the sender that message is not possible deliver, because is tagged as spam.
Is it possible to change this default message?
    (AsyncOS: v6.5.2-101)
    martin

You are correct that it doesn't appear that the Positive Spam or Suspect Spam setting doesn't appear to give you any leeway on using a different bounce profile/message to whomever you bounce it back to.
You may want to consider this workaround.
    1. In the Action, change it to "Deliver"
    2. In the Advanced section of both the Positive and Suspect spam, there is a section labeled "Add Custom Header". Add a custom header like the following:
    X-Internal-Spam-Message: true
    3. Then, since this message will still go through the outgoing content filters, you can create an outgoing content filter that looks for the "X-Internal-Spam-Message" header. If that header exist, then the outgoing content filter will match. For the action, you may need to use the "notify()" action and notify the original sender that it could not get delivered since it was detected to be spam. There is an option to attach the original message. The reason you need to use the notify() instead of the bounce() is because bounce doesn't currently have the option to specify which bounce profile to use.
You can only specify a different bounce profile in the "Mail Policies > Destination Controls".
Let me know if you have any question.

  • Firefox periodically shows "server not found" message for Verizon/Yahoo email. Often self corrects in 5 to 10 minutes ?

System is Windows VISTA. While on Verizon/Yahoo mail Firefox will lose the connection and shoe a "server not found" message. Explorer will connect with no problem to the email server. The problem self corrects with in 5 or 10 minutes but this may happen 5 or 6 time in a day.
Is this a Firefox problem with proxy access. Settings appear to be the same.

i forgot to mention , that when i striped this machine back down to 10.3.7 and before i re built i did do a hardware check with the original install Disks [3] and every thing came back clean.
the weird ness with the colors on window, if i pass a app like text edit over the area , the color will not cover the app but stay in the background.
when i first saw this color thing i had the preference pane out and was moving it around on screen and the colors were bleeding off of the preference pane onto the screen.
if you have any idea as to what is going on here let me know.
    thank you

  • How to send HTML emails on the emac?

Help! I need to find a quality software that allows me to send out HTML emails. I have an older eMac, running 10.3.2
This would be for HTML emails with photos, links and personalized message boxes.

The best thing I've tried is Max Bulk Mailer. Do a search for it on VersionTracker. It's about $50. or so.
If you're just looking to send one offs, you can do it with a hotmail account - just make sure you pull out the doctype tag (you should do this for any html email).

  • Html email - image won't load

You guys are wonderful - when I've worked and worked on a problem and get to the "pulling out my hair" stage, I remember how helpful the forum has been to me . . .
I have put Outlook 2007 on my computer now so I can easily test the quirks of email rendering in that email client.
I'm attempting to test using slices for the nav bar (hopefully a work around for "wonderful" Outlook 2007) but can't get past an image that won't load. I recently combined three images and some text into one image because Outlook was floating the images and spacing them wrong.  The image that I'm referring to which now won't load is http://www.theshimogaproject.com/email/images/shimoga_pics_text.jpg
The original design displays correctly in browsers:  http://www.theshimogaproject.com/email/riverrun-guests-email.html

  • Global signature for HTML email

GW7.0.3 on NW 6.5--global signature appends for plain text email, but does
not append on HTML outbound email. Signature is defined for both formats in
the Global signature in ConsoleOne and I am not using any jpeg images. Any
    direction appreciated. Thanks.

  • Adding a rounded dropshadow effect behind a HTML email message

Hello.  I am looking to add a rounded corner box with a dropshadow effect behind a HTML email message.  I got it working great in gmail with four corner images and repeating background slice for the sides and top and bottom.  The problem is background images do not work in Hotmail and a few other email clients.  Anyone have any suggestions as how to achieve this?  Thanks.

Ah, "the client wants it". That factor has led to more bad design decisions over the years than I can count.
The client needs to understand that there are literally hundreds of millions of email users with hundreds of millions of different settings for their accounts, and there is now way imaginable in heaven or on earth to FORCE all desired styling and content to appear in every possible viewer's email when they open it. On a local network maybe, but not the entire world. So, ultimately they're asking you to design something that far less than tenth of one percent of possible recipients may (not will, but may) ever see.
It's a bit like asking you to paint an elaborate mural inside a closet and then they lock the door and break the key off in the knob. You did a great job on it but no one will ever see it.
I don't work for Microsoft or Google, or Yahoo or Opera (or any of the hundreds of thousands of proprietary hosted email services out there), so I couldn't venture even a wild a guess as to how to force their servers to display content for a single insistent client somewhere.
I'm sure this has been tried unsuccessfully many many times in the past, but I seriously doubt it's been "done" universally. I've seen a few dozen people here who've tried it and tried it, and eventually gave up because they realized just what I just laid out... was true.
If the client still insists, politely explain to them that they are defeating their purpose in adding all the fancy effects because of the minute number of people who will ever see them. Invisibility is not the purpose of promotion, and if promotion is the purpose of the emails, making them invisible won't help.

  • Mobile Email not retrieving messages for current month

I did a couple of quick searches on this problem, but I couldn't find any information if this is a known bug with the Mobile Email application.  For the last week or so, whenever I access Mobile Email on my LG enV Touch, the first page of emails shown are for the previous month, but the same day of the month (so today is August 16th, 2010, and the newest messages I can access are from July 16, 2010).  There is no software update available.  From the application's info page it seems like my version is 3.1.3.2.
Also, the email address that is being accessed is for an @comcast.net account, but this setup has been working fine for over a year now, until this issue came up. When I access this account elsewhere, it does show messages for the current day, like normal.
Has anybody seen a problem like this?  Any suggestions for next step on looking into this?
    Thank you.
    - Wes

I do apologize that you are not able to retrieve any of the current months emails.from your device. However you may need to re download the mobile email application in order to get the emails to start coming through. • Mail messages disappear - just a blank mail message for all emails

Mail messages disappear - just a blank mail message for all emails.
This happens sporadically since I upgraded to Yosemite 10.10.2.
It happens on all of my machines (Macbook Air, + iMacs) so it must be a software bug.
Is there an update coming through for Mail?

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox.

  • Message determination for PO auto email

    Folks,
Have set up a condition record MN04 for setting up an email message.
    for
    a. Doc. type
    b. POrg
    c. Vendor
However, the 'email' message type is not getting set when I create a PO?
anything more I needed to check?
    Regards

    Here are the updates
    Rahul,
I've selected dispatch time as 4 which is required.
In fact the intent is to transmit the email as soon as PO is saved.
    Manish,
Medium is already maintained at 5.
    Dispatch time 4
    Partner as vendor # itself
    Partner function as VN
    and yes maintained communication strategy
    and checked the boxes for
    a.) Print immediately and
    b.) Release after output.
    Vikran,
    Rechecked the set up.
    1. The program has been set up for the medium (5).
    and
    2. Smart form maintained.
Query is that when I manually maintain the condition it gets set.
However once the condition has been maintained, the message type should  have been set up automatically. What else should have been maintained?
    Regards

  • HTML email working except for jpg

I have an 8320 (T-Mobile) and I recently upgraded to OS 4.5.  My HTML email is now working with the exception of jpg.  I am seeing all the fonts, colors, & even bmp images.  However, the jpg images will not load.  When I select "get image" or "get images" from the menu, I see the data arrows move for a few seconds but the images never load.  Any ideas?

HAH. Fixed it myself. This is what you can do.
Settings > Accounts and services >  Add account > (503 Service unavailable) > (instead of freaking out, choose  OTHER ACCOUNT or Microsoft Exchange) > Enter account info. ex [email protected] and password then accept push settings. BOOOM, it works. You dont have to deal with crappy k9 email
