Target node/queue unavailable for 12i Concurrent Managers on Redhat Linux

Hi,
I was able to sucessfully install Release 12 Vision on Redhat Linux.. Every thing is working fine but concurrent managers are not active except the Internal Manager. Rest of the Managers has no value in the node name field and the status is "Target node/queue unavailable".. I also ran adcmcmtl.sh to manually stop and start the managers but still facing the same issue..
Please tell me what i'm missing..
Thanks in Advance,
Prasad

    Hi Friends,
Just Now I have completed my 2 node 11.5.10.2 installation on Linux......
    (a) Database node on one machine ( Purely Database)
    (b) Application Tier on one Machine ( Forms, web, admin and Concurrent Manager)
I have completed installation succesfully.... I did not see any errors while instalaltion....
But I am getting one problem regarding Concurrent Managers....
All Managers are showing as Target node/queue unavailable except Internal Manager .....
It is showing the Target node/queue unavailable for the following Managers
    (a) Conflict Resolution Manager
    (b) Scheduler/Prereleaser Manager
    (c) Session History Cleanup
    (d) UWQ Worklist Items Release for Crashed session
    (e) Inventory Manager
    (f) Standard Manager
what to do in this case...please it is urgent...

    Thanks Hussein,
I understood what you are saying....
    In Application Node....
in My Application context file....TNS_ADMIN is pointing to the following location
    /u01/testcomn/conf/TEST_appserver/8.0.6/network/admin/TEST_appserver
Why it happened, i dont know...can we change this in context file ????
eventhough, i am not getting any problems...concurrent requests are running successfully in 2 node installation....
    one more thing.....
    ===================================================
    in my Application Node...in $COMMON_TOP
i have the conf directory..which i did not see this directory in single node installation...
this is the directory strucutre created in COMMON_TOP
    /u01/testcomn/conf
    /u01/testcomn/conf/TEST_appserver/
    /u01/testcomn/conf/TEST_appserver/8.0.6
    /u01/testconn/conf/TEST_appserver/iAS
    /u01/testcomn/conf/TEST_appserver/8.0.6 directory contains the following
    TEST_appserver.env TEST.env discwb4 network reports60 tools vbroker
    /u01/testcomn/conf/TEST_appserver/iAS directory contains the following
    Apache CAATEST_dana2.env CAATEST.env network oem_webstage soap
    ====================================
I have never seen the above strucuture in single node installation...but in 2 node installation..it is showing
    conf directory in COMMON_TOP
    ==========================================
I have[b] Database on one Node and Application tier on another Node.....while multinode installation, by default Share Application Tier file system is checked in 11.5.10.2 in screens.....i think it is not required for my setup, because I have database on one node and Applications on another node. But I run the installation with checking the Sharing Application Tier File System..(Database on one node and Applications on another node)
if we want to have one of the Application Servers(Admin,CP,Forms,Web) on both the nodes, then sharing the Applications Tier is required.
With having share application tier file system in my 2 node installation will it effect my Environment...
please suggest...I am thinking that, conf directory is created because of that only......
This is my Test Server...not my production..

  • Acutal and Target Processes for two concurrent managers refuse to be equal

    Hi
I have bounced the concurrent manager. I have stopped all services on the apps node then started them again.
All Actual / Target processes are now equal except two -
the OAM Generic Collection and the Output Post Processor
What, if anything, can I do for this? As they satnd, Concurrent Manger is down, still.
    Thanks
    EBS 11.5.10
    AIX 5.2
    Oracle 9.2.0.8

Someone here tells me that it isn't a good idea to worry about the iniquity of the Actual and Targer processes, if the particular manager is not one that we need, or use.
I dont know if this is correct or not.
He also tells me that checking the Dashboard to see if the CCM is up is not recommended - he explains that he only visits the Administer Concurrent Managers screen, and its there and only there that he compares the Actual to the Target.
I am not sure if he is right, but at least this question is now partly answered.
Also, I just read that "sometimes the actual process may be less than the target process due to manager deactivation" .
    Thanks.

  • Installation Help for JRE v1.4 on Redhat Linux 7.3

    Hello everyone,
I would like to install the Java Runtime Environment, and was hoping someone would please be able to give me a step by step guide.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    1 Download the j2sdk-1_4_0_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin file.
2 If file on Redhat 7.3 system then "sh j2sdk-1_4_0_01-linux-i586-rpm.bin" in the bash to get j2sdk-1_4_0_01-fcs-linux-i386.rpm. (I am assuming this works since I did it the other way).
3 If file on Windows system you can use winzip to extract it too j2sdk-1_4_0_01-fcs-linux-i386.rpm
4 Place file on Redhat 7.3 system. Ensure that java is not already there with "rpm -aq | grep j2". If it is uninstall it with rpm -e <package name>.
    5 Install java with "rpm -i j2sdk-1_4_0_01-fcs-linux-i386.rpm"
5 Check that java package is now on system with "rpm -aq | grep java2". You should get this "j2sdk-1.4.0_01-fcs"
6 Java binaries are located in "/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/bin"
7 Set a tempary path for the shell "export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2sdk1.4.0_01/bin"
8 Run "java" and you should get something back to show that the command did try to execute.
I could not see anything on the Sun site that described these simple steps or somthing like it. Seems like an oversight by Sun that they are not there or they are too hard to find by users like myself.
    Thanks
    Tom

  • Performance Question for WL 5.1 on RedHat Linux 6.1

I'm currently evaluating WL 5.1 and installed it on linux.
I have installed the SUN JDK 1.2.2 for linux which should use
    native threads.
When I start WL 5.1 I get the following message:
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/weblogic/weblogic/lib/linux:/usr/local/weblog
    ic/weblogic/lib/linux
Warning: native threads are not supported in this release
    What does this mean?
Also I get the following messages:
    Fri Apr 07 08:59:38 CEST 2000:<A> <Posix Performance Pack> Could not
    initialize POSIX Performance Pack.
    Fri Apr 07 08:59:38 CEST 2000:<E> <Performance Pack> Unable to load
    performance pack, using Java I/O.
How much does this impact the performance? Is it better to use NT instead
    of linux?
    thanks,
    Alex

If you want to stick with Sun jdk, and don't want to see the error
    messages, set weblogic.system.nativeIO.enable=false in
weblogic.properties. I wouldn't go to NT, because if you can afford it
Solaris on SPARC will be your fastest most reliable platform. We have
Solaris SPARC for production, and do our development on Lintel. For us
staying in a POSIX environment overall keeps things like startup,
environment setting, and make type scripts all on the same page.

Check the CM log file for any errors.
Have you tried to recover the CM from OAM? Shutdown the CM first and run this step.

  • Concurrent Managers on Multiple nodes

    Hi,
    We have this setup
    2 DB server - RAC & ASM
2 APPS server - which has loand balancing through IP configuration.
Now we have requirement of having concurrent managers in the DB server. I am bit confused here
    1) suppose if i install cm tier on both DB servers and ask them to communicate to RAC DB server, IF any request comes , how this will distribute the work between two servers.
    2) do we have to configure anything ?
    3) Is there any entry is available in config files with respect to CONCURRENT HOST NAME. How the values are populating in FND_NODES table.
    4) am i thinking two complex, is there any other solution to achiev this - Basically i have to have concurrent manager in both DB server and work needs to be shared automatically.
    Waiting for your valuable inputs.
    Cheers!
    Venki.

Forgive my brief answers; I'm headed to bed and don't have time to dig up full references. :-)
As a side note, in the future, please start a separate thread. Your environment and requirements are different from the original poster, and replies may be confusing, both to future readers, and to those trying to help.
    1) Is it possible to configure PCP keeping both the CM on appsTier in non-RAC env. ?Yes.
    2) If yes, will both the CM work at the same time or one at a time? In other words, it can distribute the CM load among the CM tiers? All the CMs will run at the same time, managed by ICM and GSM.
    3) If yes, please provide me a guideline or any special instruction. You note below that you won't be using a shared application tier filesystem. You might want to reconsider this architecture. At the very least, you will want to share the log and output directories for the concurrent managers. Life will be much easier if all nodes can see the same log and output files. :)
Take a look at section 3.12 of
Note 388577.1: Using Oracle 10g Release 2 Real Application Clusters and Automatic Storage Management with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12. Although you're not running RAC, this section of the document explains the various parameters needed to configure PCP.
Also, if you haven't already, review the sections on PCP in the Oracle E-Business Suite System Administrator's Guide - Configuration
Since, I'm planning to go with 2 appsTier nodes (non-shared, local filesystem), I would like to go for LoadBalancing configuration as well.
    Refered Note: 380489.1 - Using Load-Balancers with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12
Section 2.4 Using Domain Name Server (DNS) Load Balancing with Single Web Entry Point
Is the above DNS Load Balancing is only for web services? what about other services (forms,CM)? Should work for Forms as well. CMs mostly care about where the database is, not the web/forms entry point, so the Load Balancer doesn't come into play for the CMs ...at least, I'm pretty sure that's true. It's late. :)
Once LoadBalancing is done, then is it possible to go for E-Biz integration with OID/SSO?Yes. See Integrating Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with 10g AS Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Single Sign-On

  • Two node installation with 2 concurrent managers..

Need your help. I have 12.1.1 Two node installation on Linux 5.9 with 64 bit.
Linux2- Database server + Concurrent manager
    Linux1- Apps Node
    Port - 8002 (port pool -2)
on my app node - linux1, I have 2 directories <SID>_linux1 and <SID>_linux2. First one is for primary apps node and second one is for 2nd concurrent manager. It is a shared directory structure. I have 2 questions:
    1) If I run the autoconfig on Linux1, I can run all the services and connect to apache. However, If I run the autconfig on linux2, I will not be able to connect to web server (for a short time request will be sent to Linux1 and then it gets forwarded to Linux2 - even though Linux2 is not app server).
    2) How do I run the second concurrent manager on LInux2? After I run the 2 concurrent manager, how do I test both concurrent managers are working?
    Your help is much appreciated.

    Hi Hussein,
Thank you for the info. I was wondering whether the Linux2 concurrent manager was installed correctly or not. I went to xml file and found these entries and it made me think, it didn't install correctly because only concurrent manager should have been yes and the rest should be no. Isn't it? If it is wrong, how do I correct this?
