Targus Bluetooth Mini Optical Mouse - Does it work?

Has anyone tried this with the Macbook and can confirm it works. Seems to be the cheapest bluetooth mouse out there.

Yup, I believe they are.
I read else where that a user that bought bluetooth mouse that comes with dongle bluetooth adapter, having a bit of technicall problem pairing using macbook bluetooth, and as soon as they plug the dongle into usb port, it detected and work nicely.

I am trying to get a Sony mini USB mouse (plug&play) working. My macbook (early 2011; Lion OS) simply does not respond to any mouse movements. However, the mouse is recognized/listed as "USB optical mouse" under system information.
The mouse is not defect as it is perfectly funtional in bootcamp.
I have borrowed a mouse and that one works just fine.

Well, I have bought my USB mouse and this mouse was delivered with a driver.
But as Silas already said, mostly the driver is not needed. The Windows XP should recognize it without any problems.
Try to install the driver yourself. Simply right click on the unknown device (USB mouse) and choose the option install driver. For driver source try to choose the folder c:\windows\system32\

Vivienne Tam wireless Mouse does not work.

My wife's Vivienne Tam wireless Mouse for HP Mini 210-1032VU does not work anymore, but the light at the scroll wheel keep flashing/flickering.
We tried changing the battery, but that did not help.
Any suggestions what the problem might be? The mouse is still under warranty.

i have a disease in both hands. It causes a boney like process to grow in the palms of my hands causing my hands to draw up like a claw. Repeated operations for the rest of my life are happening. It is more and more difficult for me to hold a mouse of any kind.
So the vivienne tam mouse has a smaller rise. The microsoft a high rise mound that hits the nerves causing intense pain. The pain makes me break out into a sweat. Where can I find the correct vivienne tam driver? It used to be online. I understand vivienne tam hp driver was taken off the site. it got lost on my computer when the computer crashed. What can I do? how do I get that unique driver back. I alread wrote hp and microsoft online and no help. the driver is specific to the tam. When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries, assuming the mouse is paired.
Turn off the device.
Remove the batteries,

Replace or renew the batteries.
Turn on the device. You should get a steady green light if the devices are paired.
Click the mouse twice to activate it.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems. Apple’s own brand, Duracell, Energiser and appear to be the best.

How can I access applications if the wireless mouse does NOT work?

I have a new iMac (Snow Leopard) which comes with a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse. Just in case that the wireless mouse does not work, how can I navigate through applications and the screen?

Let me replicate:
Shift-Command-A (on the Desktop, (but how to get there?) to open Apps, e.g System Preferences;
Arrow keys to navigate within Apps;
Command-down arrow to open a specific app;
Arrows to move around, e.g. to Magic Mouse
Space to open Magic Mouse;
Tab to move between options and arrows to change these; and Tab back to the back icon.

tips: rather than Bluetooth, I suggest you using file sharing with WIFI, its more faster

You are correct that you cannot install version 5.x of the AirPort Utility on OS X Mountain Lion. However, once installed it will run just fine. One workaround is to extract the utility directly from the disk image (.dmg) file.
Here are the basic steps to install version 5.6 under Mountain Lion using CharlesSoft's Pacifist:
If you haven't already download the AirPort Utility disk image file directly from Apple Support Download
Place the resultant AirPortUtility56.dmg file onto your Mac's Desktop.
Run Pacifist.
Click on the Open Package option. Find the disk image file that you just placed on your desktop, and then, click on Open.
The utility is located as follows: Contents of AirPortUtility56.dmg > Contents of AirPortUtility56.pkg > Contents of AirPortUtility56Lion.pkg > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility 5.6.app
Drag AirPort Utility 5.6.app to your Mac's /Applications/Utilities folder.

Just downloaded the new OS onto my iMAC and now the "swipe" feature on my mouse does not work, i.e. I can't go back and forth between web pages. Is this a function of the new OS?

What kind of mouse do you have? USB? Have you tried to plug it in - try all the USB ports (maybe there is a problem with one). It should automatically detect it.

Hi, I have tried two Bluetooth mice (MS 5000--brand new--and Logitech V470) and neither work on my laptop.
I see that the Bluetooth is enabled in my BIOS.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
I have turned the mouse on and put it into discovery mode.
I have used Add Device from the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, it found it and added it with the correct name.
The mouse appears disabled in Devices and Printers. Under Properties, most of the General info is "Unavailable," Hardware tab info is blank, Services tab shows nothing, but Bluetooth tab shows unique identifier.
I have gone to the driver page using the model number supplied via HP Support Assistant and downloaded the Ralink/Motorola Bluetooth Adapter Driver (SP52533), but the BluetoothSetup.exe fails with the message, "Bluetooth hardware must be switched on to run this package." I am not sure how it discovered the mouse without it being "switched on."
The driver in Device Manager is Generic Bluetooth Adapter by Microsoft, version 6.1.7601.17514, dated 2006 06 21. The downloaded driver only contained an exe file, so no dll's that I could have pointed the Update command to.
I went to the Setting up Bluetooth Connections with Windows 7, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01948661&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us#DeviceOn, but it doesn't say which devices this applies to until you go to the bother to download it and start it up, then find out it is for Mini computers.
There are help pages which mention the HP Wireless Assistant, but it does not tell you how to get it. It is not a software option in the drivers/software for my laptop, so I'm adverse to experimenting.
I have combed this forum and Googled and haven't found anything like it. I hope someone can help.

I did remove the device and added it back in through the Add Devices option in the Bluetooth menu. Same result. Device is greyed-out, but the name and ID are there.

Use Windows 7 troubleshooter: you gotta be kidding. I did, but as expected, it did nothing.
I tested the batteries last night, and they have plenty of power. They are brand new ones sent with the new product.
Using the Device Wizard in Windows 7 did something. I removed the device, and instead of using the Add Device command from the Bluetooth icon in the system tray, I used the Add Device in the Devices and Printers. It seemed to go through the exact same wizard screens, but brought back more info on the device. The tabs in the Properties are now filled with more device-specific information, but the device still does not work. Going to configure the mouse brought up a red Microsoft window, so I got excited, but when I went to configure the mouse, only the touch pad and the Logitech mouse I have at home have properties in that control panel. I now only get the Create Shortcut and Properties menu items on the device when right-clicked in the Devices page and clicking on the Properties give an error, "The properties for this item are not availble." I may try to reboot and will report back if that fixes it.

Unable to communicate with a Bluetooth device: it is 10cm (4") away from the computer; I had one other device on the computer, which was my mobile and which also could be connected but not accessesed (tried to transfer a picture, and ended up having to email it to my laptop). I remove the device just now, and it now gets the same error as mentioned above, "...not available." The laptop did correctly identify my mobile and put the name of it up in the Devices list, so it does seem to discover the devices.
I am not synching.
Resolving specific Bluetooth problems in Windows 7 and Vista: none of them seem to apply to my case.
At this point, I will reboot and try again.

What to do if bluetooth mouse does not work

I have a logitech bluetooth mouse that is advertised as working with my iMac. After restart, it sometimes does not reconnect; or if it does, it still does not work. I cannot even find a com.apple.bluetooth.plist file, to delete, which was a solution in another thread, so wouldn't know how to delete it. And besides which, if my mouse doesn't work and I don't have a wired mouse, is there anyway to just use the keyboard to get the system preferences pane open? Hate to use the comparison, but in Windows you used to be able to tab your way around, or use Alt key. Is there a similar way with Mac?

No apology necessary (we were all new once).
In the finder, go to the menu bar. Select "file>find." Toward the top of the window that opens, you will see two boxes - kind is any. If you select the first item, a drop down window will appear. I have included +"system files"+ in mine. If it is not there, select "other." That will give you a long list of search options. Select system files. Then select "include" from the second box. When you do that and type what you are looking for in the search window, the system will present system files (plist, for example) as well as other hits.
I always use "find" (probably old fashioned) instead of the spotlight search as I feel I can control the search more.
